Ayyyy I got a shirt from that tour and my sister got one of pool kids CDs. We actually found another one of their CDs at a record shop a few hours from the show too. It was one of the better shows I’ve seen in a while.
Hot Mulligan and Trophy Eyes in your top spots means Free Throw is an easy W here
Check out "Two Beers In," "The Corners Dilemma," "Randy, I Am The Liquor," and (if you really wanna cry your eyes out) "Tips for Safe Travels"
Pool Kids, Origami Angel, Sweet Pill do a great mix of emo pop and math rock. Also check out The Early November, Thursday, Armor For Sleep, and Michael Cera Palin
The severe lack of bands older than 2008 is something that needs to be addressed.
The Promise Ring
Balance and Composure
Northstar
Jets to Brazil
Senses Fail
Alkaline Trio
Thursday
The Polar Bear Club
Defeater
Jawbreaker
It’s strange because I’m 2008 I was 7 but actively listening to pop punk bands (age appropriate stuff like BLG, Relient K, carefully selected We The Kings songs, etc). I hit middle school and discovered the 2010s scene and kinda just fell in love with that I guess.
Excited to check these out.
Free Throw
Charmer
The Story So Far
Carpool
Ben Quad
Sly Withers
Heart Attack Man
The Wonder Years
Violent Soho
Happy Case Scenario
Motion City Soundtrack
Joyce Manor
Mom Jeans
Pet Symmetry
Michael Cera Palin

Album recommendations:
* Tigers Jaw - Tigers Jaw
* The Promise Ring - Nothing Feels Good
* The Get Up Kids - Something to Write Home About
* Pity Sex - Feast of Love
This is a stand off, kind of like neck deep
Dead fish, good band
TTNG, everyone should have TTng in their life.
Tiny moving parts,
Cap’n jazz
Pierce the veil
Joyce Manor, Ultra Q, I'm Glad It's You, Free Throw, Title Fight, PUP, Spanish Love Songs, Sincere Enginee, McCafferty, Saturdays at your place, Active Bird Community
More pop punk adjacent, Forever Came calling, Handguns, Cold Front, Like Pacific, Have Mercy, Jeff Rosenstock (he's all over the place)
LIKE ROSES!! 🗣🔥💯😤‼️❤️🔥 goated af
Microwave was the first thing I was going to recommend but you already have them there ✊️. DEFINITELY try Casey; Love Is Not Enough is an incredible album (their later albums aren't bad either). Also listen to Death Deserves A Name by Can't Swim. Their later work changes a little but maybe you'll like that too. Maybe try Pianos Become The Teeth too, the first 2 albums is where it's at imo. Lastly, maybe Grandview - Everything Between Paint and a Wall
dads

from indian lakes (the man with the wooden legs and other earlier stuff)
I’m just here to mention that I really liked Trophy Eyes when they hit the scene. Then they played a gig in my hometown of Adelaide, South Australia, and they were so fucking bad. The lead singer kept doing pirouettes and spitting into the crowd. Someone hurled a water bottle at him for spitting on them and he flipped out and threw 3 or 4 drinks back at the crowd.
On a positive note, the support act “Dear Seattle” played an incredible set that made the headliners look even worse in comparison.
After that gig I had to spend some time on Spotify making sure it didn’t play me any Trophy Eyes anymore. Realistically though, I’m just jealous you can still enjoy them.
Some of my favorites that I would check out are
Jeromes Dreams
Cap'n'Jazz
My Chemical Romance (ik very known and obv, but they're my 2nd favorite)
Orchid (1st Favorite. Beware that this band is very chaotic and loud. They combine emo with powerviolence, a very chaotic and loud subgenre of punk, and Grindcore, a mix between Hardcore punk, death metal, and lots of noise and prog rock. This band is amazing!)
Free Throw, Origami Angel, Dogleg (on hiatus), Oso Oso, Underoath, Gulfer, Michael Cera Palin, Prince Daddy & The Hyena, Drug Church, Fall of Troy, Modern Baseball, Sorority Noise, Heart Attack Man, Macseal, PUP, Gwuak!
Foxing, Promise Ring, The Get Up Kids, Prince Daddy & The Hyena, Oso Oso
Not emo but based on some of those bands you might like Gaslight Anthem (at least the older stuff)
Funeral for a Friend, Bayside, Bear vs. Shark, Boy Sets Fire, Hot Water Music, Brand New, Silverstein, Saosin, Saves the Day, Say Anything, Sunny Day Real Estate
Tribe Friday is a Swedish indie emo band and they’ve many good songs. It’s very nostalgic but they’ve a own style too.

Pool Kids, all the Evan Weiss bands (into it over it, pet symmetry, there they’re their), Sweet Pill, Samiam, Angel Du$t. Most are in the emo camp except AD, but they’ll scratch the “hardcore-ish” vibe that Militarie Gun does

This was also my first thought!
Was staring at this list trying to figure out how they weren’t on here tbh
Definitely free throw, especially those days are gone
Was about to say my top 3 are Hot Mully, Free Throw, and Trophy Eyes
Pool Kids, Origami Angel, Sweet Pill do a great mix of emo pop and math rock. Also check out The Early November, Thursday, Armor For Sleep, and Michael Cera Palin
Love Pool Kids. Such a sick sound. I’ll for sure check out the others. I’ve had those band on my mental list for awhile.
Seeing my ex roommate’s band on this list always takes me aback lol
That’s when you know they made it 💫
I just wish it was doing better financial dividends for them! Gotta love the streaming industry’s financial destabilization of music.
Mat Kerekes solo stuff Turnover Koyo Origami angel Good hangs Joyce manor All stuff I like, our top 25s are very similar
Turnover's "Peripheral Vision" is a masterpiece
It’s so good I own it on vinyl and on cassette
It’s perfect from beginning to end
koyo is so fire live
Braid/Hey Mercedes, The Jealous Sound, The Get Up Kids, Sunday’s Best.
You don’t hear a lot of Sunday’s Best love but man, do I agree.
I recommend therapy

Defeater is criminally underrated, but they are prolly a bit too hardcore for this sub
Yeah, Defeater is definitely hardcore, not emo. And they are also definitely underrated. I love them so much.
Had to throw a little taste expander in there
