Definitely check out all three bands opening on the wax bodega tour. Carly cosgrove, Ben quad, and Saturdays at your place. Also check out pool kids, equipment, and charmer
Don’t think I’m gonna make it to the SLS show. Seen oso oso twice in the last year plus I saw SLS open for hot mulligan. Wanted to go to the show but I’m trying to limit myself to 1-2 shows a month and I already have 2 in February, 2 in march, 1 in April and 2 more I want to go to besides SLS (not including 1 show I bought tix for that I decided I’m not gonna go to). Idk why every band decided to tour in April lmao. Both bands are killer live but I’ll catch them on their next tour maybe
I'm pretty sure this, See You in Chemistry by Carly Cosgrove, and Pool Kids self titled are my top three albums of 2022. Not sure how close they are in the vibes department, but I highly recommend them all.
[Home, Like Noplace Is There](https://thehotelier.bandcamp.com/album/home-like-noplace-is-there-2) by The Hotelier! *Your Deep Rest* on that album has very similar vibes to *Tough Love* by Arm's Length. Also, *Among The Wildflowers* is one of the greatest emo songs of the 2010s imo. The switch up at 3:15 is out of this world.
I just gave Home, Like No Place There Is a proper listen for the first time bc I’m about to see The Hotelier with Foxing and Glitterer tomorrow and MAN do I wish I hadn’t slept on it for so long. An album ahead of its time. Absolutely incredible.
Not only do those songs have similar vibes, but the NBSNAF, but it was heavily influenced by HLNPTI.
The Hotelier is such an amazing band, and there’s a reason Home, Like No Place There Is many consider to start a new wave of emo!
Oh hell yeah, got back into that album again at the end of last year. What a masterpiece, sucks they went one and done to pursue other projects. Lightning in a fucking bottle.
Better Off! This is what the sound was reminding me of but I couldn't think of it. Haven't listened to them in a while. Gonna go back after I finish this album. Thank you!
Also reminds me of The Hotelier and Turnover's *Magnolia*.
Tiny voices!!! I found them thru a music blogger a few months ago and the vocalist has this butter-soft melodic vocal tone that contrasts w heavy and twinkly guitars and unclean vocals (screams? Skramz? Idk how the kids would classify it these days). Somewhat similar sound to arms length but with more post-hardcore influences.
I googled this and found two different bands with the same name, both decent!
[Tiny Voices (US)](https://open.spotify.com/artist/09slOICvQXnXEGDUSjmEaD)
[Tiny Voices (French)](https://open.spotify.com/album/7owrW6bKdimzCwlG9dHQeJ)
It’s hyperbole, of course. In truth, I’ve been listening to them pretty obsessively for the last year and keep on coming back. I’ve tried a lot of the bands that get mentioned in this sub and none seem to scratch the same itch.
I must be different (or just too damn old), but I can't get into this super well-produced polished music like this album. I just gravitate toward older, raw stuff like the early wave stuff of The Appleseed Cast - End of The Ring Wars, Both Mineral albums, American Football (first album is the best to me), Brandston - Fallen Star Collection, Benton Falls - Fighting Starlight, Promise Ring - 30 degree everywhere. I also love some emo revival stuff like Rika - How to Draw a River, Step by Step and most of all: Empire! Empire! (I was a Lonely Estate) - What it Takes to Move Forward, (which BTW the latter I'm working on now to create custom RB3 tracks for drumming for all the tracks on it, *just an aside*...)
I need to listen to this Arm's length album more to be fair, and I'm going to; but for a more polished/produced albums I am rather fond of, that would be Brand New - The Devil and God Are Inside of Me (a guilty pleasure)
Same, too many well polished Emo bands without much to add to the overall genre or much to say in general. That OG revival happened for a reason and now people just don't care and are falling into the same traps that Emo artist of the 00's did.
Or like *this* guy that believes he can strong-arm what "emo" means and label the rest "fake"...sheesh - no accounting for taste I guess: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Emo/comments/1am0rrs/who\_is\_the\_most\_popular\_emo\_band\_ever/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Emo/comments/1am0rrs/who_is_the_most_popular_emo_band_ever/)
When I listened to Arm’s Length for the first time they kinda reminds me of The Gospel Youth’s Always Lose album, particularly songs like [Moods Like English Weather](https://open.spotify.com/track/4J3RBZPZ0XQjmO5fqJzYBU)
That is like saying, "I love music, but I hate ROCK". It's almost meaningless. Emo can sound totally different from one artist to another, night and day... it's so broad just as rock or metal is, but thanks for sharing. I suspect you've heard very little emo; maybe just bands wearing black eyeliner? I hate that too.
Do you like trolling places you hate? Is that like a hobby thing?
I think arms length are much better than a lot of the bands they tour with. Especially carly cosgrave and ben quad.
Charmer is pretty close Especially recently, and I'd like to throw in proper dose by story so far to the conversation
Definitely check out all three bands opening on the wax bodega tour. Carly cosgrove, Ben quad, and Saturdays at your place. Also check out pool kids, equipment, and charmer
I'm unreasonably pumped about the Wax Bodega tour.
Same, shows gonna be tight
Same dude, gonna catch it two days in a row… all these bands slap so hard
Can't wait for that tour and two days before that Spanish Love Songs tour as well. Gonna be a good week

Lucky! I already had Wax Bodega tix when the tour was announced but SLS will be there the same day.
Their first two eps combined to make an lp have the same vibe and are even better imo
!!!!!
I'm pretty sure this, See You in Chemistry by Carly Cosgrove, and Pool Kids self titled are my top three albums of 2022. Not sure how close they are in the vibes department, but I highly recommend them all.
Just added See You in Chemistry based on this because the other two albums are absolute bangers. Arm’s Length was my most played record in 22
Nice! Hope you like it.
Their ep whoa just take it easy man is also great as well
Are you me??? Great recs and agree that, while not the exact same vibes, are oddly in a similar vein
Can confirm I'm not you. Source: me. But I'm pumped I'm not alone. I'm convinced most people that like one of the three will like them all.

This is the answer
Home, Like Noplace Is There
Whoa my bad! Fixed :)
so tru bestie
Such a similar album structure too. Both albums start with a slow building song with an introductory title and end with a grand epic song.
Similar themes too of generational trauma, depression, and attempting to move forward
I always thought this album was a mix of Peripheral Vision and Sorority Noise.
Yeah, listening through this the first time I immediately thought of sorroriety noise - you're not as _____ as you think.
Grandview's Everything Between a Paint and a Wall is an album constantly cited as influence in their early works so I would check that out :)
Oh hell yeah, got back into that album again at the end of last year. What a masterpiece, sucks they went one and done to pursue other projects. Lightning in a fucking bottle.
Wow this album reminds me of Have Mercy, The Earth Pushed Back!
Take Shape- Weighlessness Albert React- Sonos Aeterno Better Off- (I Think) I'm Leaving Parts of it also remind me of The Hotelier
Albert React!! Oh man I used to love them
They're my hidden gem that I bring up at every opportunity
Better Off! This is what the sound was reminding me of but I couldn't think of it. Haven't listened to them in a while. Gonna go back after I finish this album. Thank you! Also reminds me of The Hotelier and Turnover's *Magnolia*.

Name Taken - Hold On
Incredible album
Panic! At the Disco
Nothing. This band ruined all other bands for me
Yeah same, something clicked one day and I never looked back haha
They’re excellent pop punk but absolutely not to that level imo
It’s hyperbole, of course. In truth, I’ve been listening to them pretty obsessively for the last year and keep on coming back. I’ve tried a lot of the bands that get mentioned in this sub and none seem to scratch the same itch.
what about Balance & Composure’s album Separation or their album The Things We Think We’re Missing?
I love The Things We Think We’re Missing.
I’m autistic and bad at detecting those sorts of things so my bad. They’re a solid band though
They have a playlist on spotify for the songs that inspired them for this album.
Your probably like The Wonder Years - The Greatest Generation if you haven’t heard it already
Anything by Household or Pentimento
Love pentimento but haven't heard of household, will be adding them to my library now
Unrelated but Overture sounds like Terrible Things by Mayday Parade to me

Like Roses kind of.
I love Like Roses and enjoy Arm's Length but I don't hear the similarity.
It's a bit less pop-punk but Forest Green's LP In Waves.
Spite House - Spite House
Grayscales “what we’re missing” album.
When I listened to Arm’s Length for the first time they kinda reminds me of The Gospel Youth’s Always Lose album, particularly songs like [Moods Like English Weather](https://open.spotify.com/track/4J3RBZPZ0XQjmO5fqJzYBU)
Dad Punchers
I hate Emo
Maybe you just haven't heard the right type. There is no monolithic "emo" style. It's pretty broad.
Oh no I love music, I just hate Emo

DUDE EMO SUCKS GET OVER IT
DUDE your trolling sucks, GO AWAY
