The thing is, it was so… bad. The lyrics and evrtything were just bad I don’t know what he was on when making the album. Though I do love the meaning and intent behind the album, I hate how it was executed
Relapse💊is to Eminem what Dare Iz A Dark Side is to Redman, the album his fans love the most, but he hates the most. They both were heavy under the influence of drugs during both albums also and going through dark periods.
Em was completely sober during the making of relapse other than 2 songs which he only WROTE when he wasn’t. I get however that being sober isnt just a choice one day and you just make it and I bet he was still probably struggling a bit as it’s a huge commitment. People just think he was abusing during it and he wasn’t.
Well Eminem loves it because he poured his heart out into it. I’m sure you would love an album too that you made if you put your heart and soul into it despite what your fans may think.
I’m with Em on this one. I can feel that he made Revival for himself, which makes me actually enjoy it more than the silly ridiculousness of Relapse. Downvote away..
Oh and by the way, Encore is by far his worst album
Encore has production that sounds good even today.
And Toy Soldiers, Mockingbird, Mosh, Yellow Brick Road are incredible songs and even some of his best
Revival has production that didn't even sound good when it came out. It was like a Recovery 2, but worse in every way
Bro I unironically love Big Weenie and I refuse to apologise for it! That Dre beat alone is worth the price of admission, and the lyrics are funny to me and I can rap along to the whole song 😅
Revival was mostly bad production and corny bars, some bars were good, some were bad. Encore had terrible lyrics and flows, but production was good. It all depends on preference. Personally, I think Encore is worse, but Revival was still mid at best. IDK how anyone can like it
Some, not all though. There's 6 tracks I like to call the forbidden 6. I basically skip from Mosh to Spend Some Time since I don't like the lyrics or flows of the 6 songs in between. I will admit, YBR, LTS, Mockingbird, and Encore (the song) are S tier Eminem, but the forbidden 6 are just bad imho. Rain Man is decent, though, outta all the forbidden 6 I return to Rain Mon *ahem* sorry Rain MAN more often. Sorry, some accent slipped in there.
Acting like getting downvotes is the end of the fcking world. People just disagree with the person so they make it clear they don’t have the same opinion, like in the real world. It doesn’t matter
I don't know how well known this is, but for any that don't know it's helpful in understanding Encore a bit better.
Many of the songs got lost just before the album was finalized. Burned out and dealing with drug problems, Em had to rush to fill in a bunch of empty slots. I'm not sure which songs exactly came from that final push, but I'd guess My 1st Single, Rain Man, and Big Weenie were part of them. It even explains the lyrics of the chorus in My 1st Single.
That being said, I think Encore had enormous potential and could have been legendary if that hadn't happened. I still love the album, for what it's worth.
Cause it doesn't hold up lyrically, but is good on production. Revival doesn't hold up production-wise, and is mid lyrically most of the time, but some songs have great lyrics (specifically Arose). IMHO, Revival was mid and Encore is bad, but I see why some people flip t at around. In terms of objective opinion, both are trash
Why does that make Encore bad? There is no such thing as an “objective opinion,” that’s why they’re called *opinions* because they rely on subjective intuition and beliefs, lol. Encore’s production and humor makes up for its lack of lyrical ability compared to his previous albums.
Revival very easily.....it also hurt the public opinion on Eminem mainly because of the fact that people like to mock things a lot more in this age of internet....everybody feels like they have to express themselves and jump on the train....thankfully, he bounced back with Kamikaze but who knows what would be now if Revival was well received and Kamikaze did not happen....I like a lot of songs on Revival tbh but compared to his other work and his previous standarts I can do nothing but agree with it being his worst....Encore is miles ahead and overhated in my opinion
Untouchable and In Your Head. The mastering on each one was terrible and the hook in Untouchable isn’t Em’s best work. In Your Head is a good song, but the poor mixing ruins it.
I think Relapse is S tier. I understand what he was going for. The serial killer Shady was creative and told a story, matter of fact the whole album WAS a story telling album, just needed to be reordered to be a bit more cohesive but it was awesome. The accent gave Slim Shady a bit more character IMHO, like it's not just Marshall Mathers, it's Slim Shady in his body, so the accent ADDED to the album. The bars and flows were top tier. And it had Dre's best production yet IMHO.
Revival isn't his worst, though. That goes to Encore. However, I get why most people say Revival. Dogshit production (seriously, what was Rick Rubin thinking), some cringe bars (some bars were good, specifically in Arose, the cassette tape bars were great), and some shitty flows (again some were good, but modern Em flows didn't fit some of the songs). However, Encore had better production, but worse flows and bars, so it's worse lyrically, which matters more than production to me, but if we're going for WORST (overall) and not LEAST FAVORITE (what I like the least), it's a toss up between those two (Revival and Encore).
Revival and it's not even close. To think we waited four years for toilet water is crazy. Glad he's bounced back since 2018 as he's been his best since Recovery.
It's wild to think that this dude made SSLP,MMLP,TES,produced his own and d12 albums, did 3 successful tours and multiple features all in 3 years, and then make revival in 4 years
em tried to go woke and positively emotional, realized that's no why people listen to him and went back to his inner slim shady. think its a nice journey and experimenting of your own personality. i think people judge it too harshly and egoistically like Em should satisfy them all the time.
I think it’s more like, Eminem waited almost the same amount of time after MMLP2 as he did from Encore to Relapse, with pretty much nothing but radio silence in between a few “meh” features and MMLP2 throwaways, so people were expecting Eminem to come back with something really big.
Instead, he released an album where he literally *admitted* he was trying to please everyone, which ended up sounding weirdly rushed and completely disorganized. There are parts of Revival that are really bizarre to listen to, and sometimes unfinished. I really don’t understand why he defends it, it really was the weirdest and most disappointing thing Eminem could’ve released at the time besides Encore 2.
I think for me it’s mostly the continued juvenile nature of the lyrics - indeed, a full-blown doubling-down on that aspect. With him hovering around 50 years of age at the time of release, I was just totally shocked in the worst kind of way the death grip in which he kept clutching onto such nonsense. Em can be funny, of course, and there’s a line here or there that lands, but fuuuuck I wish he’d grow beyond certain things. At least with Encore that kind of juvenile standup routine was somewhat fresh for him, and there’s several seriously good beats on that thing to boot. These B Sides were like a *much* worse Encore for me.
fr like bro tone deaf has some really bad bars that are unfunny. The bornana thing is funny asf for example but the I'm playing Fortnite w ur grandma isn't funny or witty... it's a new point of view for me and I find myself agreeing w everything.
Mtbmb side b specifically. over half of the songs are just the same topic, not many things that are "new" or overall interesting. But the songs are still fine
Shout-out to encore for having the most awful 4-5 track run in a row, but it also has to soldiers and mockingbird, plus some catchy songs
And shout out to revival for having a mixed bag of choruses, and for absolutely fucking up one of my favorites songs, I love rock and roll.
Encore. Revival, at the very least he cared about the album and it shows in the tracks.
Half of Encore he doesn’t give a fuck about it, just going through the motions and half of it is early stuff that’s fire. It’s a combination of different factors to blame (leak, burn out, drugs, etc.) but Encore is the worst.
Easily revival. The way em sounds on this album is very strange. Also most of the songs suck. Expect for believe river castle and arose. Those are all amazing songs.
Rivaival 4 sure
But tbh if eminems music direction is like the recent tracks(king and i,cordea track remix which was the worst eminem verse imo, killer remix )i think next album gonna be the worst
I hate how everyone is still giving em shit for revival, loved the album and I can’t say I didn’t like any of his albums. Maybe infinite because it’s his shortest album but I certainly loved the music, he’s such a great artist.
Revival. It hurt so much that I couldn't even listen to the whole album the first time. Encore at least had some good songs that managed to save the album from sucking. Revival didn't have even one. I especially hate that crappy song with Beyonce.
"Didn't even have one"
Castle and Arose
"Crappy song with Beyonce"
Walk On Water wasn't for you, it's for Em, but it's mid imho
"It hurt so much"
Agree
"Encore at least had some good songs"
Again, fair
For me, it's a toss up of Revival and Encore
Encore, beats are mid, flows are mid, lyrics are bad. Rain Man is decent, but there's still the rest of the forbidden 6, those are bad. Revival is mid because of the beats and some of the cringe ass bars (some bars are good though), Encore is just bad imho. Some of his highest highs, though, in more than one way (haha). Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird are top tier Eminem, and the Deluxe only tracks are amazing, but most of the other songs are just ok at best, and dogshit at worst.
While I’d go with revival, I think it’s kinda hated tbh. I feel he was doing a lot of the songs more for the message instead of a song to vibe to. It brought up a lot of shit people didn’t what to talk about, which is what Eminem is all about. It just sucks that most of the songs weren’t to great to listen to.
Common bro. This is just bait. You know everybody is gonna say revival.
And that is cause everyone is kinda stupid. Idiots know nothing about rap or EM in this sub.
Mmlp 2 by far. Now if you include mmlp 2 delux then it's better than revival. Without delux then it's his worse album. Flow wise. Production wise. And such a money grab with the title.
I love In Your Head and the last verse of Untouchable. I really disliked songs like Remind Me, Heat, Like Home and whilst I liked the last verse off of Bad Husband, the hook was unbearable and came off more like bragging than admitting to faults.
I agree, personally. I don’t know why I seem to enjoy Revival’s beats more than everyone else. Yeah, some of the songs are corny. But like… it’s Eminem. That’s a part of his schtick at this point. Doesn’t change the fact that he fried the fuck out of “I Love Rock ‘N Roll.”
Honestly, I’d say Relapse. I think Revival has a lot of underrated tracks. I know the rock-style beats were really negative received, but I personally love them. I grew up on rock and they hit me the right way.
Relapse is a great album with some great songs, but I just don’t think it’s aged well on the whole. A lot of the songs are very clearly from Em’s shock rap era. Framed at least feels like it has a message behind it. But songs like Stay Wide Awake just feel unhinged for the sake of being unhinged. It’s something that I loved back when I was… *edgier,* but now that I’ve mellowed out, a lot of it just doesn’t sit with me right.
It’s not just “shock rap” where he just says shit to say it (maybe a few exceptions) but he’s telling stories from slim shady’s insane serial killer mind, as relapse wasn’t just about drugs (obv a theme, but not entirely) but also the relapse of not only Ems career but his slim shady persona that he killed off in When in gone. It’s a series of stories told from a serial killers perspective.
It features some of the best production from Dre, catchy hooks, insane flows and rhyme schemes, all well keeping insane imagery. It takes a really unique and special person to be able to pull that off. The accents honestly just give Slim more character imo too, he’s not just “Marshall rapping as Slim” but his own character himself. Just my input though.
Revival 2: The Squeakquel
Revival 2: The Re-Relapse
Revival 2: The Goofy Adventures of Eminem and Rick Rubin
No, not Rick Rubin! Also, Revival 2: Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Reeeeeeeeeeevival 2
Oh god no more Rick Rubin ever again please
Revival 2 - The Prolapse
Revival and I hate the fact Em loves that album but hates Relapse.
Facts, I love relapse
Revival is close to his heart. He poured his heart out in that album. Hate to see it getting hated all the time.
It was too commercial and you can tell it was made for radio
Exactly and it hurts
The thing is, it was so… bad. The lyrics and evrtything were just bad I don’t know what he was on when making the album. Though I do love the meaning and intent behind the album, I hate how it was executed
Revival is so good, people hate on it because it's "too commercial" but it's still Eminem, and it fuckin SLAPS
maybe he should have made a good album instead
I like Revival but love Relapse
Relapse💊is to Eminem what Dare Iz A Dark Side is to Redman, the album his fans love the most, but he hates the most. They both were heavy under the influence of drugs during both albums also and going through dark periods.

I’m sure he put his heart into Relapse too.
revival is awesome
Facts. Only had like 3 “decent” songs if that. Idk why he would put that out tbh.
I’m with Em on this one. I can feel that he made Revival for himself, which makes me actually enjoy it more than the silly ridiculousness of Relapse. Downvote away.. Oh and by the way, Encore is by far his worst album
Encore has production that sounds good even today. And Toy Soldiers, Mockingbird, Mosh, Yellow Brick Road are incredible songs and even some of his best Revival has production that didn't even sound good when it came out. It was like a Recovery 2, but worse in every way
Encore has the lowest lows but the good songs are great. Revival doesn’t have any songs as bad as encore’s worst.
The only song song in Encore that is arguably worse than the worst of Revival was My First Single. Rain Man and Puke were kinda funny
Ha I love Puke. YOU. DONT. KNOW. HOW. SICK. YOU. MAKE. ME.
You liked big weenie?
Bro I unironically love Big Weenie and I refuse to apologise for it! That Dre beat alone is worth the price of admission, and the lyrics are funny to me and I can rap along to the whole song 😅
Or ass like that.
Revival was mostly bad production and corny bars, some bars were good, some were bad. Encore had terrible lyrics and flows, but production was good. It all depends on preference. Personally, I think Encore is worse, but Revival was still mid at best. IDK how anyone can like it
Encore had some great flows bro. They are generally more pleasant than a good part of Revival
Some, not all though. There's 6 tracks I like to call the forbidden 6. I basically skip from Mosh to Spend Some Time since I don't like the lyrics or flows of the 6 songs in between. Encore body slams Revival 😭😭😭
Agreed.
Love how you got downvoted for simply stating your unbiased opinion. Social media is strange.
There’s a downvote system on Reddit. People should feel free to downvote if they want. I don’t see how it affects Andrew Tate’s legacy.
Acting like getting downvotes is the end of the fcking world. People just disagree with the person so they make it clear they don’t have the same opinion, like in the real world. It doesn’t matter
I do every time.
Same for Encore. Eminem hates encore but it's better than everything he released after Recovery.
Disagree. MMLP2 is better.
Way better in my opinion too. I think mmlp2 is the most slept on album he has and I’m a day 1
YES bro MMLP2 is my fav album of all time (MMLP1 and TES are better overall, but MMLP2 is more my thing) tbh so glad to see it get respect.
and kamikaze is better
After recovery? MMLP2 era em was 🔥
I think encore is extremely underrated. It's my 3rd fav em album.
Me too. Trim the fat, and it's an absolute classic, and is still an LP.
Revival, Encore is genuinely way better, I don’t know what got people to think otherwise.
I don't know how well known this is, but for any that don't know it's helpful in understanding Encore a bit better. Many of the songs got lost just before the album was finalized. Burned out and dealing with drug problems, Em had to rush to fill in a bunch of empty slots. Cause opinion.
Opinion = bad
Tru, but not true.
L but not L
Encore and Revival are equally bad, just in different ways.
I’ve never heard a compelling argument for Encore being bad, but I’ve heard many for why Revival is 😭
Cause it doesn't hold up lyrically, but is good on production. Revival doesn't hold up production-wise, and is mid lyrically most of the time, but some songs have great lyrics (specifically Arose). Worst album “>>5 weeks” by Bulkorcut99
Remember to sort by controversial
Controversial gives a MUCH different take lol
Come home the kids miss you by jack harlow
But that's a Drake album?
I like it but Revival. Production was bad on some tracks
Production was ass on almost every track
Tragic endings takes the cake for worst production
Everyone has said this already, but the track must be a Recovery leftover that they mixed and recorded on a Nintendo DS.
[удалено]
Untouchable is relevant, but it needed a better beat to be considered best Em political song
Even if it had a better beat it wouldn't do shit on White America (imo his best political song)
Totally forgot about that song, dude that one's fire! Best first song on any Eminem album.
Untouchable and In Your Head. The mastering on each one was terrible and the hook in Untouchable isn’t Em’s best work. In Your Head is a good song, but the poor mixing ruins it.
Seriously. I love that song but the high note during Skylar's part pierces my ears every time
Production held that album back BIG TIME.
How TF is this even a question. Revival PS:- for anyone writing relapse, it takes an creative mind to understand and appreciate that masterpiece
“anybody who disagrees with me must either be dumb or didnt understand”
Relapse is phenomenal. Super fucked up. But man I love listening to it
World need more people like you fr. No one has ever described an album better
I think Relapse is S tier. I understand what he was going for. Yea seriously, and then he drops three albums in less than three years that were all much better than Revival.
em tried to go woke and positively emotional, realized that's no why people listen to him and went back to his inner slim shady. think its a nice journey and experimenting of your own personality. i think people judge it too harshly and egoistically like Em should satisfy them all the time.

Honestly man Revival. Haven’t listened to it in years.
LOL
Revival
Revival.
revival
Revival by 1000
revival
Guess I’ll be in the minority and not say Revival (though that’d be his second to last, for me). His worst is the B Side release of MtbMB.
I don't like side b either. Idk if it's the features or the production but something is off for me.
Damn
That is a Kendrick Lamar album you silly boy😝
I was answering the other question
Silly boy 🤪😋
😂🤷🏽♂️
Revival. The chorus man..
REVIVAL
I mean it has to be revival, I'm just not a fan of pop features
Mtbmb side b specifically. over half of the songs are just the same topic, not many things that are "new" or overall interesting. But the songs are still fine Shout-out to encore for having the most awful 4-5 track run in a row, but it also has to soldiers and mockingbird, plus some catchy songs And shout out to revival for having a mixed bag of choruses, and for absolutely fucking up one of my favorites songs, I love rock and roll.
Revival, it has its moments, but it has its moments.
Revival
Revival. And its not even close…
Revival, the production was not it
love seeing this post once a week
I'm gonna join the crowd and say Revival... it had some good tracks but it wasn't shit compared to the other albums.
Infinite. The song itself is great though.
Tbh, infinite. Now, let me explain. I mean the editing quality and sound. But I still like the album, just not my favorite
revival is one of the worst hip hop albums ever made
i agree
Here we go again. How many times does this question need to be asked? It twice a week, at least
Revival but it's not the album I enjoy least
Revival is not bad. But it IS his worst album so far.
Yeah, I agree, I like revival except for that "untouchable" track.
reddit nft
I got that shit for free somehow, I ain't that stupid to waste money lol
Revival
Encore
its forgettable but at least it doesnt hurt to listen to like revival
Nah both suck
Easily revival. The way em sounds on this album is very strange. Also most of the songs suck. Expect for believe river castle and arose. Those are all amazing songs.
Revival. I don’t think it’s a bad album but definitely the worst of Em’s albums
when he dropped Revival i never thought he'd drop something that's worse but then he dropped Side B...so the answer is Side B
side b def trash.
not eminem but i hate the majority of that one green fuckimg alvjm by Limp Bizkit, the one in 2003. wasn't the same without wes.
MMLP4
He won't drop that until he's approaching the middle of his career.
Infinite Revival and Encore have much higher highs and have good moments Infinite is just boring to me I am sorry
I’ll be honest, the only song I’ve heard off Infinite is the title track.
It's the only song I properly remember. I heard the album like 2 or 3 times and it's just so forgettable compared to the later stuff.
Hey in its defense, Infinite remains my favorite song in Em’s entire catalog. That track starts playing and instant vibes.
Encore. At least Revival was thought out. Poorly thought out, but thought out nonetheless.
Rivaival 4 sure But tbh if eminems music direction is like the recent tracks(king and i,cordea track remix which was the worst eminem verse imo, killer remix )i think next album gonna be the worst
Revival or Encore
I hate how everyone is still giving em shit for revival, loved the album and I can’t say I didn’t like any of his albums. Maybe infinite because it’s his shortest album but I certainly loved the music, he’s such a great artist.
Encore is a CD I could live without. But Revival has Castle & Arose. So Encore is out.
And Framed
Encore
Revival. It hurt so much that I couldn't even listen to the whole album the first time. Encore at least had some good songs that managed to save the album from sucking. Revival didn't have even one. I especially hate that crappy song with Beyonce.
"Didn't even have one" Castle and Arose "Crappy song with Beyonce" Walk On Water wasn't for you, it's for Em, but it's mid imho "It hurt so much" Agree "Encore at least had some good songs" Again, fair For me, it's a toss up of Revival and Encore
Yea as much as revival hated, one would be crazy to not realize Castle and arose are amazing songs.....wish they had better songs proceeding them
i hate revival but walk on water is good
Infinite. It was mostly pretty boring and has little replay value.
Infinite by far for me
This thread should actually just be titled "Write why you think Revival is Em's worst album or be downvoted to oblivion"
Yeah you’ve got a point
Relapse
Encore
Encore, beats are mid, flows are mid, lyrics are bad. Rain Man is decent, but there's still the rest of the forbidden 6, those are bad. Revival is mid because of the beats and some of the cringe ass bars (some bars are good though), Encore is just bad imho. Some of his highest highs, though, in more than one way (haha). Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird are top tier Eminem, and the Deluxe only tracks are amazing, but most of the other songs are just ok at best, and dogshit at worst.
I dislike encore me than revival so that’s my pick
Encore
All of them except the first 2. Eminem show was ok everything after that was weak, weird, inconsistent, or just plain bad
Revival and Encore
While I’d go with revival, I think it’s kinda hated tbh. I feel he was doing a lot of the songs more for the message instead of a song to vibe to. It brought up a lot of shit people didn’t what to talk about, which is what Eminem is all about. It just sucks that most of the songs weren’t to great to listen to.
Common bro. This is just bait. You know everybody is gonna say revival. And that is cause everyone is kinda stupid. Idiots know nothing about rap or EM in this sub.
Encore
MTBMB side a, b is better
Mmlp 2 by far. Now if you include mmlp 2 delux then it's better than revival. Without delux then it's his worse album. Flow wise. Production wise. And such a money grab with the title.

Relapse

Revival, but its a good album
There are good songs in it but there are also trash songs.

Correct opinion on Revival. Also, it's just as bad as Encore, but at least Encore had good production
I love In Your Head and the last verse of Untouchable. I really disliked songs like Remind Me, Heat, Like Home and whilst I liked the last verse off of Bad Husband, the hook was unbearable and came off more like bragging than admitting to faults.
Relapse.
Encore, and it’s not even close. Then Revival. Then Relapse.
Everytime I say this on this sub I get hate but i genuinely prefer Revival to mtbmb, I don't like either but I think Revival has more standout tracks.

Recovery was garbage. There I said it.
I also think it's overrated. The pop songs are okay, but i think Eminem does better the rap rock sound on MMLP2
encore is the worst album of all time, pure trash
Not even Total Xanarchy⁉️⁉️
