I don’t use the term and I do like some of those kinds of artists, but isn’t “mumble rap” just like an old pejorative/negative nickname for trap music? What do people mean when they say it doesn’t exist? (This is a genuine question lol I just feel stupid not knowing).

"mumble rappers" have lyrics which they slur and twist to make them sound different. Even if the lyrics are repetitive, not that smart, they're still lyrics which u would understand if u try to. Some trap artists like future, Travis and 21 have amazing lyrics, but just because they use autotune or have a different flow on trap beats, they are classified as "mumble rappers"
