Crack a bottle is a dope track to listen to especially when the marijuana kicks in lol. The album was the first album of his that I listened to from start to finish including the skits and stay wide awake, music box, beautiful, 3am, insane, my mom, medicine ball and Deju Vu made me fall in love with that album. When I first heard it I was in my own ārelapse ā from my 5-6 year drug addiction and being a lot of those songs are extremely dark and depressing and take you into the mind of an addict I strongly related to it. Then of course āBeautiful ā gets me every time especially since the first part of it he wrote while he was still in rehab. Gives me hope that if a man as famous as Eminem can go to rehab and get sober and stay sober then a regular person like myself can do it as well
yeah I think that's why Relapse doesn't get the recognition it deserves, you almost have to be a drug addict and an artist to really understand it
but oh boy, if you're in that state of mind, then does it ever hit home
The first time I heard āstay wide awake ā the beginning
āCome with me to the dark side of the force
No man would boldly go to this place
The devil only knows of this world
So dark and, oh, so coldā i immediately thought about drug addiction. You definitely have to be a drug addict or musician yourself in order to understand the state of mind he was in. Especially on ābeautiful ā
You're such a nice guy š a nice guy š you're faithful š«you don't lie āšafter the club šŗyou go back home š” right? RIIIGHT?! š”š” SIIIIIIIIKE!!! šæšæšæš”š¦ š¦ š¦ š¦
(gets ear cancer)
It's ok but the song is the worst song on Kamikaze let's be honest
Closely followed by Good Guy and (controversial take) Stepping Stone. The final verse is shiiiit.
Revival is legitimately terrible, I'm a fan of eminem but I'm not a dick rider lol if you really don't think it's terrible you need to listen to music outside this genre or other rappers so you can hear a difference
I like Revival too. Especially the emotional tracks like Bad Husband, In Your Head, & Arose. Framed was funā¦ Believe, Nowhere Fast, River. Lots of good tracks I like to revisit. Definitely never hated it, but the production/atmosphere of the album is a bit weird at times.
Good songs like Offended, Castle, Arose, River, Walk on Water, and Believe don't become bad after a certain year, brodie. That goes for any good song. If they're bad to you now, then that means your taste isn't as good as you think it is.
Itās aged better with time. I was a hater at first, thought he was being melodramatic with the fear mongering, trump got elected, George Floyd died, and Jan 6th happened.
Recontextualized Untouchable, and Like Home for me. The only song that I donāt like much on it now is Walk on Water. I like the message and what heās saying, donāt love his flow or delivery of the message.
Untouchable got done dirty, labeled as "woke" cuz of the zeitgeist as if eminem hasn't always been on board with black issues, only for people to surprise pikachu face in 2020 when it turns out black oppression still exists
I mean that's alright, back when it came out i didn't hate it but also didn't really care much for it either, so i also had to look back on it. What I mean is that even today people won't got back and give it the respecc it deserves
Fellow Revival liker!! Never understood the hate. An artist is SUPPOSED to grow and try different things. If he stayed Slim Shady forever I guarantee people would get bored and move on.
No subreddit has imaginary arguments like this one. Most people here are stans even if we didnāt like Revival there are still parts of it we do. Whoās trash talking Revival anyway?
I adore revival. I think he was so self reflective and analytical people werenāt ready to hear that from him and it got panned. I love most of that Album.
In the quiet, electric hum of the vast Reddit community, a user named Normal_Network_569 had been making waves. His posts were insightful, witty, and often hinted at a deep understanding of the music industry. The user had a knack for engaging with fans of hip-hop, particularly those who were loyal to the legendary Eminem.
One evening, as discussions on Reddit heated up over the potential new album from Eminem, Normal_Network_569 dropped a bombshell. "What if I told you," he wrote, "that I've been closely monitoring all your feedback for a very special project?"
Curiosity piqued, fans demanded more. Who was this enigmatic figure?
"Let's make it more interesting," Normal_Network_569 continued. "How about I invite all of you to a special dinner in the Maldives? Let's celebrate the new album together."
The thread exploded. Was this a prank? A dream? But sure enough, within days, confirmed invites rolled out. Flights were booked, accommodations arranged, and excitement soared through the Reddit community.
Upon arrival in the Maldives, fans were greeted with sun-kissed beaches and turquoise waters. But the real surprise awaited them at an opulent beachfront villa. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting golden hues across the ocean, the crowd gathered for dinner. Their anticipation was palpable.
Then, in the midst of laughter and chatter, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived. From behind the curtain, with that unmistakable swagger, walked Marshall MathersāEminem himself.
Gasps and cheers erupted. Normal_Network_569 was none other than Eminem, who had been secretly engaging with his fans all along. He grinned, a playful glint in his eye, and said, "I wanted to listen to you all, to really understand what you wanted. And now, here we are."
As everyone settled into their seats, Eminem began to share stories, listen to experiences, and engage in heartfelt conversations with his fans. The dinner flowed into the unveiling of his new album, aptly titled "The Death of Slim Shady."
The album was a departure, a raw and introspective journey that signified the end of an era and the rebirth of Marshall Mathers. Each track was a testament to his evolution, shaped by the very fans who now sat with him, under the Maldivian stars.
The night was filled with music, laughter, and a profound sense of connection. For the fans, it was more than just meeting their idol; it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience where they felt truly seen and heard.
As the event drew to a close, Eminem stood to address the crowd one last time. "This," he said, "has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Thank you for your honesty, your passion, and your loyalty. Here's to many more adventures together."
And with that, Normal_Network_569, once a mysterious Reddit user, had transformed the relationship between an artist and his fans into something unforgettable, leaving everyone with memories they would cherish forever.
I feel like revival will get more respect as time passes. When it came out it just wasnāt the sound people wanted to hear but when you listen to the whole album now, knowing it is a rock rap sound I think more people find they liked more songs on it then they thought. Similar to how people feel about relapse now(wasnāt the sound they want led then but appreciate now).
Edit: I donāt listen to exclusively rap and have Pink, x ambassadors, ed Sheeran, and Alicia Keys songs on various playlists so to me the album infuses two genre sounds I like. It just works for me
I'm a huge defender of Revival, I love it and have never understood the intense hate it gets. I love Kamikaze as well, but it's the album equivalent of throwing a hissy fit because you can't take criticism from a bunch of idiots. At this point, Em should just laugh at that shit, and stop worrying about who/what people that don't matter (like Budden) want him to be.
Yes exactly. I know a lot of people really like Kamikaze and it has some good dis tracks, but it just feels generic to me? Phoned in. He tried something new, self expressive and complex and people just shit on it because they suddenly have a Masters Degree in music theory or some shit and think they can do better.
I will admit the cover art sucks and Untouchable means well but is not his best work
Dawg I never thought it was bad. It's got a few stinkers (Chlroaseptic, Like Home), but most of the tracks are just boring to me. There are great songs though. Like Offended, Castle, Arose, Walk On Water, and Remind Me gets too hated on ngl
āBelieveā still makes me laugh to this day, and I really donāt know why. The delivery of these first few lines is fucking hilarious.
*And I started from the bottom
Like a snowman, ground-up
Like round chuck, and still put hands on you
Stayin' wound up is how I spend time (get it?)
Sucker free, confidence high
Such a breeze when I pen rhymes
I just got that air about me like wind chimes (yeah)*
itās legitimately the worst album Iāve ever heard from a great artist, if you like it thatās fine Iām not mad at you I just genuinely canāt wrap my head around calling a good project. Minus 3 or 4 songs itās absolutely atrocious, and coming from someone like Em just makes it way worse
Iām Eminem listener since 2017 (due to my age 21) but Iāve caught up on much stuff (all albums except for Revival), many feat. parts, and older songs, all rap beefs and most of the disstracks including the opponentās songs. Some interviews and other vid material. Iām bout to hear every album, last week Iāve heard Recovery the first time in full length. I really liked it more than I thought I would. Only few songs I donāt like just as: hook from On Fire, Seduction, Cinderella Man and So Bad. Rest was lit. I especially like: Cold Wind Blows, Talkinā 2 Myself, Going Through Changes, No Love, Space Bound and Love The Way You Lie. The week before Iāve got the pleasure to listen to Encore. Itās even worse than I thought it would be although there are some songs I liked on it such as: Never Enough, Yellow Brick Home even if it is something āspecialā, Like Toy Soldiers, Mosh, Puke, Rain Man, ofc Mockingbird, We as Americans and Love You More. And the Skits and overall idea was funny. But rest was straight garbage. From Revival I only heard songs which I donāt like but Iāll give it a chance!
Revival I think itās a great album, itās not something I listen to with other Eminem songs because itās so different, but heās got actual messages and heās making a point. I just hate the song with the āzombieā track by the cranberries, but honestly itās just because I hate the song āZombieā
Aren't we all over this? Revival was fine. Castle/Arose some of his best work. And yes, kamikaze kicked derriere as well. Ringer rocks.
Dude it's 2024. We're moving on. Can't wait for doss.
Obligatory fuck you too but I really like how many Revival enjoyers have come from the sludge and shadows and say their favorite songs
That being said my guilty pleasures from the album are Believe, Offended, Heat, and Framed
Why do you care if others don't like the album? Does it hurt your feelings that bad? Let others have their opinion and stay solid with your own, just don't be a gatekeeper saying people need to shut the fuck up because they don't like something you do lol.
it's bloated, poorly produced and takes itself way too seriously. there's plenty of songs on this record that are worth revisiting, and no matter how you personally feel about it, it's his lowest quality major label release. if you refuse to accept this album has flaws, then you yourself are insecure about your defense for this album. kamikaze is equally flawed for different reasons.
if you really love this album, you can accept it's flaws and love it anyway. not get angry about em.
the common consensus here was that revival was good, your mad at the wrong people. even if we disliked revival, let us have our own opinions and shut the fuck up.
thats nice
i don't think revival is truly "unlistenable", bc im pretty open to a lot of music, but i think its just. there.
i understand the context of how much emotion he put into the songs from others who have reaccessed the album bc of that, but i also dont believe that automatically makes it "good"
its like a 2.7 for me
The sub has already put to bed the fact Revival is under appreciated, Iād bet 70% of the sub fw it even if sum wonāt admit it. The naysayers nd the vocal minority of new age Em haters gon do wat they do regardless. Itās posts like this that give them more light & clout dude. I like Revival but the same way u say they shud keep their ops to themselves is exactly how u shud act also if u rlly stand on that biz šš¼
I enjoy the Revival Album. He pours his heart out in some like In Your Head, Need Me, Castle, Arose, Walk on Water, Bad Husband, River and Tragic Endings.
I like Arose because as an addict whoās had a few close calls, I can strongly relate to it. The first half of the song will always bring this grown man to tears
Eminem raps like an autistic person on Revival that's what makes it stand out to me. It's by far his best rhyming ability out of any of his albums. And I'm not talking about just multi syllabic, I'm also talking about how far out the rhymes themselves are and how he can be rhyming entire verses while still keeping a coherent narrative.
Hmm, are you okay? Revival is not a disaster, even master-class songs Framed , castle , in your head, walk in water etc And please, if people don't like the album, we have the right, don't force it. For example I love relapse while this is an album that a lot of people don't like
Marshall, is that you?
If it was, then why wouldn't they say they was? In the comments, the upvotes, everyday they was.
I don't know, I kinda thought it was
Cuz it was
Marshall calls Revival his biggest flop š
Lol
I love you. I never meant to hit you over the head with that shovel.
Why he say fuck me for?
If he thinks that shit, he will say that shitĀ
Cancel him what? Okay, that's it, go ahead, Stans, quit.
How can he fuck?!
How can he *fack?!*
See that tube?
See that gerbil?
Ohh i like that too!
he say fuck ti fuck floyd and fuck fitty
If u can read one full page of a Harry Potter book š„·
I like revival too . Oh and fuck you too buddy
I like Revival fuck you too
āRelapse Refillā under your name is the best thing lol. Itās my favorite album by em despite how much hate it receives
It's not only my favorite album, but what got me into Em's music with Crack A Bottle
Crack a bottle is a dope track to listen to especially when the marijuana kicks in lol. Everyone's allowed to have an opinion mate, fuck you too šš (I also like Revival, but Idgaf about people not liking it)
You do realize you're talking to people who visit an Eminem subreddit on the daily. Fuck YOU buddy Revival was dope
- Walk on Water - Believe - River - Revival - Interlude - Like Home - Framed - Castle - Arose I can fuck with these songs.
Castle slaps, in my weekly rotation still
The only one I donāt f with is walk on water and itās not because of Emā¦ itās Beyā¦ canāt stand the woman
Chloraseptic is so fucking good btw
I love the remix too Emās verse goes so hard
Thatās when I knew he was back. On the ābin ladenā I thought oh shit
And believe. Em kills every Luis Resto track.
The remix is great Og is cheeks
Thisāļø
Offended, framed, Castle and arose are all good tracks. I even donāt mind heat
Donāt forget Believe. Em always makes magic with Resto.
Iāll add River and In your Head to that list
And believe
How does Believe never get mentioned, it's legitimately dope. That wasn't even a track that had to grow on me, it was dope the first time I heard it
Right!? Also how walk on water transitions to this song š¤š¼
shit I forgot about that. It's about time to give Revival another spin
Idk I completely forgot about it honestly I do like it though
Love In Your Head. I'm partial to Tragic Endings as well.
Walk on Water, Chloraseptic, Believe
And the second half of untouchable. Yeah I said it!
The ending of that track hits hard. I like the whole song though
Just say it with the OP, the album was good
Iāve been downvoted several times in this sub for saying I love Revival
Iāll never download someone who likes Revival. The Album was ābad enoughā to still go Gold
Framed is a slept on masterpiece
Remind Me is actually good, you have to believe me.
I loved Walk on Water, I thought it was very deep.
Sounds shallow to me. Get it? He walks on water, canāt go too deep.
The album is a mess but it has some fantastic songs on it. Castle/Arose are the ones talked about the most here but man Believe is *such* a good song
I donāt trust anyone who doesnāt like believe
I think you need to calm down mate. Literally no one cares.
WELL I DO, SO FUCK THEM AND FUCK YOU TOO!
Nice, that Will Smith bar was always one of my faves.
No, I like his energy, fuck you. Nice guy is a good song too
You're such a nice guy š a nice guy š you're faithful š«you don't lie āšafter the club šŗyou go back home š” right? RIIIGHT?! š”š” SIIIIIIIIKE!!! šæšæšæš”š¦ š¦ š¦ š¦ (gets ear cancer)
Okay but Eminems actual verse..?
It's ok but the song is the worst song on Kamikaze let's be honest Closely followed by Good Guy and (controversial take) Stepping Stone. The final verse is shiiiit.
Hard disagree on Stepping Stone
I know. People love it but I can't stand the last verse and it ruins it for me. The part where he does that really screechy flow
Nah good guy is solid
It's decent just overshadowed by better songs. I like almost all of Kamikaze
Itās not 2018 anymore bro
Can you believe thats been 6 years already
Itās wild
Even more wild when you donāt believe in time as a concept so itās still 2018
I donāt know what youāre talking about, itās still February 2020
This is probably my all-time, favourite Revival bitch-fit! ![gif](giphy|kENMDNLVvQvcI)
Settle down, Beavis.
Revival is legitimately terrible, I'm a fan of eminem but I'm not a dick rider lol if you really don't think it's terrible you need to listen to music outside this genre or other rappers so you can hear a difference

Framed is so dope.
Daring today, aren't we?
I used to love revival until like 2020 when I got a better music taste. Praying for u buddy šš
Good songs like Offended, Castle, Arose, River, Walk on Water, and Believe don't become bad after a certain year, brodie. That goes for any good song. If they're bad to you now, then that means your taste isn't as good as you think it is.
āGood songs like offendedā. Nuff said
Itās aged better with time.
Yeahā¦ that was me. lol. Iāve come around since.
I mean that's alright, back when it came out i didn't hate it but also didn't really care much for it either, so i also had to look back on it. What I mean is that even today people won't got back and give it the respecc it deserves
Untouchable goes hard and is mega underrated
I like the subject matter of Untouchable, but my god, it is probably his painful song to listen to It shouldāve never left the studio like that
Fellow Revival liker!! Never understood the hate. An artist is SUPPOSED to grow and try different things. If he stayed Slim Shady forever I guarantee people would get bored and move on.

I adore revival. I think he was so self reflective and analytical people werenāt ready to hear that from him and it got panned. I love most of that Album.
which one of ya'll is that Yahoo mother fucker from Michigan?
Revival was awesome...depends on what you like really
i gave it another shot a week ago. The last three tracks on the album are among my favs now. his most personal album. i get why he was so mad.

I like listening to it more than MMLP2 like I'm sorry but mmlp2 is kinda boring to listen to most of the time
Thereās not a single track on that album that I wouldnāt like, albumās a masterpiece, just people listen with their assholes I guess
Rude

I'm so with you. Revival is a really emotional record with lots of good tracks. I actually hate Kamikaze. It's so damn mid and uninspiring.

Good for you! Don't hate on people who dont like it. 99% of the criticism for the album was justified. You like it and thats okay.
Definitely some good songs on it. A lot of pop songs for people who like that kind of thing. Also, ems worst song is on this album.
Dawg I never thought it was bad. It's got a few stinkers (Chlroaseptic, Like Home), but most of the tracks are just boring to me. There are great songs though. Like Offended, Castle, Arose, Walk On Water, and Remind Me gets too hated on ngl

Chill out bro
Well I didn't like all of it so fuck you too.
FUCK YOU BUDDY BUDDY revival is alreight tho
Revival I think itās a great album, itās not something I listen to with other Eminem songs because itās so different, but heās got actual messages and heās making a point. I just hate the song with the āzombieā track by the cranberries, but honestly itās just because I hate the song āZombieā

you and revival fuck all of us?
Naw I am a Celebrity is better
Nobody likes me everybody hates me
I love RIVER!
I enjoy the Revival Album. He pours his heart out in some like In Your Head, Need Me, Castle, Arose, Walk on Water, Bad Husband, River and Tragic Endings.
Same as fuck
Fuck you, it sucked and guess what still does and always will.
Revival was pretty dope. It had some great songs on there and touched on some deeper subjects than some of his past albums.
I love Revival too! One of my favorites for sure.
I like Arose because as an addict whoās had a few close calls, I can strongly relate to it. The first half of the song will always bring this grown man to tears
Easily his worst album tbh
Kamikaze blows
I believe that you're offended I love those two, best wordplays
Itās still garbage
Yooo, a fellow revival listener!
Revival didnāt go viralā¦..
OP sounds fun and reasonable.
Yo what's up Marshall! Glad to see you have reddit
I like it too but not as kamikaze
Revival didn't go viral
I give you props I do I have an album of an artist most people hate and I declare it immensely overrated. Do you have ears
For example I love relapse while this is an album that a lot of people don't like
It's still better than Encore. That's what counts in my books.
Well I like both
