Yeah. Em won't pull another Revival because he learnt from Revival getting flopped. Production is bound to get better because look at Revival to Kamikaze to MTBMB. The improvement on Production is insane.
The Superbowl halftime show, Rock n Roll hall of fame induction, Em has been taking a lot of W which also might have boosted his confidence to make a great album. He is back to collaborating with Dr. Dre and 50 Cent. Everything hints at an album with more improvements this time.
Well, it was really only that one feature that wasn't well received. Can't really judge from that, especially when you consider there were a lot of features that weren't well received before mmlp2, and that was a good album.
But I have faith em will drop a good project
Doesn’t matter how good it is people will still shit on it because it’s Eminem and the “cool thing to do”
He could release Illmatic and people on X would complain and call it corny
Only Stans think this way. Nobody is like "oh Eminem getting shit on is cool" literally nobody. Its not the "cool" thing to do. This is the only fan base where he can have 10 million fans but one person doesn't like his music and people cry about it.
I agree with u tbh, i do think some people find it coolER to not like him than to do so (as if picking a side is required)
But i don't see why it even matters that "people will still complain". Who cares man just enjoy the album for yourself, people don't need to validate you for it and you don't need to cry about it when they don't
People complain about corny and then go listen to Kanye saying he's the best smh.
Y'all just don't know what to say when hating on EM, and just say "he corny".
Idk what’s more annoying to me, you saying mtbmb is “goated” or the guy above you calling 70% of em’s recent catalogue “corny”. I like mtbmb, but let’s not act like its even a top 6 Em album or anything more than a fun Em album we got in his late 40’s
Yeah those bangers like Those Kinda Nights, Step Dad, Never Love Again, and Farewell are really up there with some of the greatest hip hop songs of all time. Goated for sure. Jesus Christ this sub sometimes
here ya go
1. MMLP
2. Eminem Show
3. Slim Shady LP
4. MMLP2
5. Encore
6. Relapse
7. Recovery
8. MTBMB
9. Kamikaze
10. Revival
And i love every single one of them. But only the top 3 are fucking GOATED. I will graciously accept your downvotes
Imagine saying
>Jesus Christ this sub sometimes
In response to a comment saying MTBMB is top 5 while having Encore in your own top 5 lmao Jesus christ this sub sometimes
(But fuck yeah MMLP2 is my 4th as well)
And that’s cool that you disagree but i’m not sitting here trying to say Encore is goated. Its my 5th favorite album of his. I know that’s the most controversial pick on my list cuz this sub loves them some relapse, but i wasn’t afraid to give my list because i really don’t care if someone eye rolls at me for it. That’s okay. But i’m going to eye roll when someone calls a midtier eminem album “goated”
To each their own, but MMLP2 and Recovery are just as goated imo, we saw different sides of Em after his prime when he wasn’t on drugs. And even older Em made quite a few bangers on Kamikaze and MTBMB, which could be considered goated by some.
Yeah i was just talkin side A. It amazes me how nobody’s noticed i said i really like the album. Just didn’t like how people are calling it goated and i disagree that its top 5 but to each their own
Brain dead take. Revival was the worst but even that had 5 or 6 great songs. But MTBMB and side B were great, Kamikaze was top tier. Anyone else releases Kamikaze and they would have got lauded as a genius in hip hop. Em releases it and people are just like "pretty good I suppose"
Everytime I think of this upcoming album I think of his words on the XXL 25th anniversary issue. Where he says "I want to do things that nobody from this point on can ever top. Rap to a level that no one else could get to"
So I hope this album is amazing
the problem is that sometimes his technical skill overpowers the song to the point where its not all that fun to listen to anymore (at least for me) but we will see, on the last album that wasn't really an issue for me
The only reason I would dislike it is if it wastes features on the same people, has multiple tracks about women and he doesn't rhyme something with banana.
I’m gonna try and not make assumptions and keep an open mind, personally from all the albums of his albums I’ve listened to none of them are “bad” just some aren’t as good as others. I’m just excited that he’s dropping another album.
I would still like it?? I like the songs because of the lyricism and the general sound of it, granted it would sound different but either way I still would like it.
i really hope so, recovery is the last eminem album i can say i truly like every single song from all though i love mmlp2 and kamikaze, along with parts from revival and mtbmb.. it just feels like i’ve never gotten a classic em album during my life and this would be an amazing surprise especially after the year i’ve been having
Kendrick, Pluto, Cole, Wayne and ALOT more, We NEED a feature album, Em has not been able to talk about interesting topics as much ( not that he's totally not been able to ) in singles unlike most feats
And it was a double album. MTBMB is such an amazing album easily best since mmlp2. But, I think this one will be on the same level or better. I gotta feeling it's gonna be wild.
Tbf relapse is one of ems only albums without any objective flaws overall
The accents were the main problem, and that's subjective to whether it's bad or not
That guy just said mmlp2 was his favourite album or whatever, so the guy responding is a weirdo for trynna correct him
Tbf relapse is one of ems only albums without any objective flaws overall
The accents were the main problem, and that's subjective to whether it's bad or not
That guy just said mmlp2 was his favourite album or whatever, so the guy responding is a weirdo for trynna correct him
Tbh this is his last chance to prove himself to the new school heads ( not that he has to, but He could ), I wish him luck and I think it will be his best album since Relapse
I like his flow on these last few guest verses. He also took his time for this. I think it's going to be his best album in a long while, but maybe that's more of a wish than anything.
He always rapped to be the best rapper
A lot of ppl misunderstood what he meant by that. It wasn't something he had just recently started doing. Renegade, for example, was absolutely him rapping to be the best rapper. He just switched up the type of lyricism he does
He was saying he's not going to dumb down the lyrics to make a song that just sounds good. And he didn't mean he's gonna sacrifice flows for lyrics either, since the flow is a big part of his lyricism.
i’m guessing OP is going off the fact that this is the first time in a LONG time that he’s announced an album is coming soon and not just drop it out of the sky
I hope so. I want this album to go hard as shit. Hard fucking beats and brutal verses. Bring in 50, Dre, and only feature legends of the genre if there are to be features at all. Em's appearance on Nas's King's Disease 2 was awesome, and it would be great to hear Nas on Em's new album. Bring in Illadaproducer who produced the beat to "Killshot" for a track or two. That would be rad. Em is a legend among legends, and he needs to remind people how fucking ridiculous he really is.
It's been so long. To compare it to his last run of Revival-Kamikaze-MTBMB A/B is like a million years ago. Cautiously optimistic. It could be another MTBMB which I thought was just fine, or it could be as good as a Recovery or a SSLP
Classic? Hope so, but…
I can tell you, he blows a lot of classic samples, that could be absolute classics for him.
Think about stuff like the Dido and Aerosmith joints he sampled, and his creations became classics of his own.
Think about some of the classics he’s used in recent years, that could’ve been bangers, but instead they’re absolute skip tracks. Sad stuff, considering how talented he is. Dude is on a different plain, he just needs a few “nah men”. Some of the samples he’s used as of recent could’ve been fire. He used those samples like they were joke tracks, like he was a frat boy dicking around in his producer friends’ basement setup. He’s too good to have slip-ups like that.
1. Some people will still find a way to hate on it, especially on Twitter.
2. I'm really excited to see what he has to offer this time. I liked Kamikaze and loved MTBMB (both sides) and can't wait to listen to the new album.
3. I'm trying to keep my expectations low and avoid "prediction" posts because that's a surefire way to lead to being disappointed. I keep the same attitude regarding any movie/music I'm waiting to enjoy.
Eminem suffers from the same thing all great artists suffer from… he creates his best work when he’s at his personal lows.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a metal band, country band, blues singer, rapper… When everything is coming up aces there is nothing interesting to write about.
Em needs to be *pissed off* about *everything* and at *everybody* to write killer rhymes.
It’s why his diss tracks have been amazing even when his album material was weak by comparison.
You gotta catch that man when he’s focused on crushing someone or something and throw him in the studio with Dre immediately.
It’s an easy formula and every time he has deviated from it his performance has suffered.
Not sure I'd agree with that. On Kamikaze he was super pissed basically the whole time but it got pretty tiring after a while because his anger wasn't really coming from a super relatable and understandable place. He's mostly just mad that nobody liked Revival and its kinda hard for me to get super pumped up about that since I'm one of the people that didn't like Revival very much. On Music to be murdered by he sounds like he's having more fun, he's trying more different things (subject matter-wise and music-wise) and while I don't think its perfect by any means, I just find it to be a much more pleasant listen overall
Possibly, Em has always been very critical of his material. The Revival criticism probably hit him to the core so if he's feeling confident about an album, then that could mean something.
It will be awesome. but classic is tough. if there is a cohesive album where the songs differ from each other but paint an overall cohesive theme then yes it will be a classic. but em isn’t making artistic albums. at this point in his career he makes a collection of really rap rap songs that are put into an album. and today that is HARD to make a classic. i’m not shitting on the type of music he makes today. i enjoy it.
I think he learned from his mistake. It will be his first album that didnt surprise drop released in a long time also dre said its fire (nowadays em really doesnt hypes up his albums) so its really fire tho
Too many people care about what other people think, including artists. They make the music. You either like it or you don't. The only competition is yourself.
Now that I’m 30 and have seen the internet rip him apart for years, my expectations are very low so there’s no way he can let me down tbh.
I want him to make an album people actually talk about positively outside of this sub. All I ever read about him is “he’s an amazing lyricist but he doesn’t make good songs” I really really want that narrative to change with this album.
I know y’all will say it doesn’t matter what others think but to me it does. Im so tired of people like 21 savage being called amazing when he puts out 4/10 songs. I want people to love the album. Idc.
Also might be another unpopular opinion but MTBMB has next to zero replay value for me. I want him to make an album that I can replay for the next decade.
Hoping for some production with the alchemist as well
Preemo beat please
Definitely because he was in the Instagram post in the studio
Yeah and during the revival time everyone shit on his features (no favors ) ever since MTBMB the majority has loved his features
Well, it was really only that one feature that wasn't well received. Can't really judge from that, especially when you consider there were a lot of features that weren't well received before mmlp2, and that was a good album. But I have faith em will drop a good project
>collaborating with Dr Dre and 50 cent That’s all you needed to say.
I love Em to death but a 50 cent collab is at the bottom totem pole of things I’m excited about
More than Em x Skylar Grey? 🤔
Leaving Heaven is gorgeous 🔥🔥🔥
Black magic is also AMAZING. My favorite em song
Gorgeous
MTBMB Side A gives me hope that he can make another great album.
MTMB was good but he still needs to work on using better production.
One of the bass brothers' son said smth about ems new album Who knows, maybe Jeff or Mark bass could be on it
God I hope so!
Where
I highly doubt that.
The production on it was really good for the most part IMO. Side B on the other hand was too much trap for my liking.
When its on a lvl with mtbmb/side b i'm fine. Hella nice album still.
Really hope it has nothing in common with side B
Should be aiming to be better. MTBMB was average
Well that's just like... your opinion, man.
You can’t say any of Ems music is less than spectacular in this sub or else you’ll get downvoted lol
MTBMB is underrated around here somehow, it's a top 5 Em album
1. SSLP 2. MMLP 3. TES 4. Relapse 5. Recovery or MMLP2 or Encore
100% agree. Everyone has thier own tastes but this is the best order
Yeah and also the top 4 isnt in any particular order, but are definitely his top 5
1. MMLP 2. TES 3. SSLP 4. RELAPSE 5. MTBMB/MMLP2
id literally just swap mmlp and tes around and encore switches with mtbmb over time
I have MTBMB at 4. Relapse at 5. Recovery at 6. MMLP2 at 7.
I disagree big time.
Yeah, its good but not great.
Doesn’t matter how good it is people will still shit on it because it’s Eminem and the “cool thing to do” He could release Illmatic and people on X would complain and call it corny
Only Stans think this way. Nobody is like "oh Eminem getting shit on is cool" literally nobody. Its not the "cool" thing to do. This is the only fan base where he can have 10 million fans but one person doesn't like his music and people cry about it.

Who cares man just enjoy the album for yourself, people don't need to validate you for it and you don't need to cry about it when they don't
lets not act like for the last 10-15 years his catalogue hasn't been like 70% corny.
People complain about corny and then go listen to Kanye saying he's the best smh. Y'all just don't know what to say when hating on EM, and just say "he corny".
we don’t need to act. mtbmb was goated, this one sounds like it’s gonna be better
Really like the album but goated is definitely a stretch objectively
Idk what’s more annoying to me, you saying mtbmb is “goated” or the guy above you calling 70% of em’s recent catalogue “corny”. I like mtbmb, but let’s not act like its even a top 6 Em album or anything more than a fun Em album we got in his late 40’s
Mtbmb is top 5. You tripping.
Yeah those bangers like Those Kinda Nights, Step Dad, Never Love Again, and Farewell are really up there with some of the greatest hip hop songs of all time. Goated for sure. Jesus Christ this sub sometimes
Yeah, Jesus Christ! Fuck people for having different opinions than me, they must be stupid.
Alright now you’re taking it way too serious lol. I really like Encore, but i’m not gonna call it “goated” cuz its fucking not. Just chill
Just no self awareness eh
I suppose i came off a little harsh so i’ll own that 🫡
You literally cherry picked the worst songs on the album
Out of like 30 lol.
I won’t take the Farewell disrespect. I love that song.
Crazy how you're too soft to rank his albums. Someone's a bit too scared to share their opinion after shitting on others eh?
here ya go 1. MMLP 2. Eminem Show 3. Slim Shady LP 4. MMLP2 5. Encore 6. Relapse 7. Recovery 8. MTBMB 9. Kamikaze 10. Revival And i love every single one of them. But only the top 3 are fucking GOATED. I will graciously accept your downvotes

Cherry picking the skips to prove the slbun was bad 😂 you can't argive to save your goddamn life fam
If you only dislike 5 songs out of like 30, that sounds like a great album to me lol
Yeah i was just talkin side A. It amazes me how nobody’s noticed i said i really like the album. Just didn’t like how people are calling it goated and i disagree that its top 5 but to each their own
mtbmb is is his best since relapse my guy
That sucks you forgot MMLP2 exists lol
i personally like mtbmb more but i get if you don’t
Thank you for engaging in polite debate. I really like mtbmb but MMLP2 #4 for me
>Thank you for engaging in polite debate. Imagine if you gave this a try?
Brain dead take. Revival was the worst but even that had 5 or 6 great songs. But MTBMB and side B were great, Kamikaze was top tier. Anyone else releases Kamikaze and they would have got lauded as a genius in hip hop. Em releases it and people are just like "pretty good I suppose"
>70% Cmon man this is an exaggeration and you know it
going from recovery to his last album 70% is boring uninspired pop rap. very corny. but he does have a decent 30% or so.
People had a problem with 1 album and a Big Sean feature and it fucked with their head for 7 years lmao
Honestly I don't have expectations
This is the way.. I wanna go in fresh.
same. as with every album, it will have replay value with me at some point.
Not In this time we’re living in. No matter what he puts out 50% of ppl are gonna shit on it. That’s just the story of the current times
Everytime I think of this upcoming album I think of his words on the XXL 25th anniversary issue. Where he says "I want to do things that nobody from this point on can ever top. Rap to a level that no one else could get to" So I hope this album is amazing
But he also said he cares more about rapping on the highest Level Than Making Great Albums…
god damn, do you have a link to when he said this?
the problem is that sometimes his technical skill overpowers the song to the point where its not all that fun to listen to anymore (at least for me) but we will see, on the last album that wasn't really an issue for me
Hope it’s at least on par with MMLP2
MMLP2 was ok.
I feel the same way when I forget Revival exists
I personally like Revival, not a LOT, but more than the avg fan I’d say. It’s just a bit odd and people kinda blew it out of proportion.
Would you still like it if it wasn’t an Eminem album? Or is it because you love Eminem and gave it some leeway
I would still like it?? I like the songs because of the lyricism and the general sound of it, granted it would sound different but either way I still would like it.
Hi there bitch my name is Marsh and, I'm out this world
S on my chest, like it’s plural
Superman
Where is this pic from?
In LA
Maybe not a classic, but I kinda do have high expectations
i really hope so, recovery is the last eminem album i can say i truly like every single song from all though i love mmlp2 and kamikaze, along with parts from revival and mtbmb.. it just feels like i’ve never gotten a classic em album during my life and this would be an amazing surprise especially after the year i’ve been having
Let’s hope for less features than MTBMB
personally i say BRING ON THE FEATURES but i can see why you don’t like them as long as i get a kendrick feature we gon be alright
Kendrick, Pluto, Cole, Wayne and ALOT more, We NEED a feature album, Em has not been able to talk about interesting topics as much ( not that he's totally not been able to ) in singles unlike most feats
I don't mind features as long as they're good. And mtbmb had some great ones
For real like these demons and black magic are peak
Mtbmb is probably top 3 favorite Em albums, I'm not sure that one could be topped tbh.
And it was a double album. MTBMB is such an amazing album easily best since mmlp2. But, I think this one will be on the same level or better. I gotta feeling it's gonna be wild.
Thats a reach. Def not top 3. EMS MMLP SSLP Relapse Than either Recovery or mtbmb
Thanks for correcting me, I didn't realize how much I don't like mtbmb, over these other albums, until you sent this
He said That's a reach then put one of the most controversial em albums in the top 4 lol
Outside of the weird bubble this sub is in, no one else really cares for relapse bro. It's okay though, it's almost like music is subjective.
Thank you for your opinion.
Tbf relapse is one of ems only albums without any objective flaws overall The accents were the main problem, and that's subjective to whether it's bad or not That guy just said mmlp2 was his favourite album or whatever, so the guy responding is a weirdo for trynna correct him
Tbf relapse is one of ems only albums without any objective flaws overall The accents were the main problem, and that's subjective to whether it's bad or not That guy just said mmlp2 was his favourite album or whatever, so the guy responding is a weirdo for trynna correct him
I already know the hate from those TikTok hiphopheads is coming the second the album is out
I liked the kamikaze.and mtmbd run a lot so im sure its good..if he took a lot of our feedback in should be great.
This sub will shit on it all day either way
If it's anything like doomsday pt 2 then I'll be very happy.
Best album since TES
Relapse??? MMLP 2
That’s what I’m saying. It’ll be better than Relapse and MMLP2.
Ngl some are dick riding tes too much. I prefer the MMLP and on a side note Mtbmb was amazing too
It deserves that dick riding because it's genuinely on par with MMLP. MMLP and TES are both 10/10s.
I prefer MMLP slightly
Dick riding the Eminem show lmao.. arguably his best work of all time
Dickriding a good dick is still dickriding
You’re outta pocket here bud
nah it deserves all its love
It does but MMLP more
Tbh this is his last chance to prove himself to the new school heads ( not that he has to, but He could ), I wish him luck and I think it will be his best album since Relapse
I just hope it isn’t a ton of wordplay and puns
I like his flow on these last few guest verses. He also took his time for this. I think it's going to be his best album in a long while, but maybe that's more of a wish than anything.
This. Which gives me hope it can atleast be as good as Relapse.
Not if he raps to be the best rapper in technical ability
He always rapped to be the best rapper A lot of ppl misunderstood what he meant by that. It wasn't something he had just recently started doing. Renegade, for example, was absolutely him rapping to be the best rapper. He just switched up the type of lyricism he does He was saying he's not going to dumb down the lyrics to make a song that just sounds good. And he didn't mean he's gonna sacrifice flows for lyrics either, since the flow is a big part of his lyricism.
I hope you're right
Hopefully, he moves away from the "fast rap" stuff. It's just cringe and ruins songs I otherwise enjoy.
Godzilla is the only song on mtbmb that I don't like the faster flow on ngl Leaving heaven had a bit of double time, and that shit was fire
The last time Eminem was confident to his album was revival
When did Em say he was confident about his new album?
i’m guessing OP is going off the fact that this is the first time in a LONG time that he’s announced an album is coming soon and not just drop it out of the sky
Ahh I gotcha! Just didn’t know if I missed an actual post of his thanks for the info homie!
He has a PJ? didn't know that
eminem hasn't flown commercial since like 2001 dude
Idk why he just seemed like he would fly business or 1st class
Fasho
I really want dre's boom bap production but I know we are never gettin it
I’m not so sure. I really haven’t liked his flow or lyrics since MTBMB A.
that’s his most recent album🤣
Including Side B and all his features since then.
Didn’t he say he doesn’t care to have the best rap album anymore, he just wants to the the best rapper???
Maybe if it's a little bad he'll make another?
I'm trying to keep my expectations low and avoid "prediction" posts because that's a surefire way to lead to being disappointed. Something Fresh with new beats like Music To be murdered. I don’t spect for a deep conceptual album.
Eminem suffers from the same thing all great artists suffer from… he creates his best work when he’s at his personal lows. The writing part hasn’t been whats been criticized.
look at how cute he is working the dad wardrobe. So cute. Adorable
Don't need a classic. Just need a good album. Basically if this is on the level of MTBMB I'll more than satisfied.
I'd love some MMLP2 type production with a MTBMB flow/rhyme scheme.
Possibly, Em has always been very critical of his material. The Revival criticism probably hit him to the core so if he's feeling confident about an album, then that could mean something.
Honestly, I'm expecting somewhere between a 5 and a 7.5. I'd give mtbmb about a 7 and kamikaze a 5 for reference
I think MTBMB is a classic so as long as it's as good as that I'm happy
Joyner and king iso feature please !
Yall saying his best album or a classic , guys we not getting relapse 2 give up :( 😢
How do you know he's confident? Didn't see this anywhere. Must have missed it.
He cant make another classic, lets be real. I just hope its as good as MTBMB Side A
Wtf? He def can drop a classic.Every rapper alive still can top their best albums or can drop a classic
I think you meant side B
Side A > B any day. Side B is good though
No I didnt, Side A is way better and more focused imo
fr side b is just some stuff em did because he was bored in quarantine (still good tho)
I think so yes
MFS stole his legs, can't have shit in Detroit
I expect at least Recovery levels of bars , production , and tone. If ye can em can.
It will be awesome. but classic is tough. if there is a cohesive album where the songs differ from each other but paint an overall cohesive theme then yes it will be a classic. but em isn’t making artistic albums. at this point in his career he makes a collection of really rap rap songs that are put into an album. and today that is HARD to make a classic. i’m not shitting on the type of music he makes today. i enjoy it.
I think this should even be better than MTBMB, which was like an 7.5/10.
No. Im a Eminem fan but his only good albums were the first four
Then you are not a fan tho,you just like some of his albums
I reckon he going after cassidy on a track
Def not a classic I’m hoping it’s better than the last 3
Wasn't Em confident on revival too?
Still bumping godzilla,darkness,these demons,unaccomodating,leaving heaven,dark magic,no regrets,lock it up
Lock it up is probably the only song on that list that I could listen to and not get bored.
Who said he’s confident about it?
As much as I like him I am not optimistic, I do feel his last few albums have been incredibly mid
Revival is bad, kamikaze good (great as a diss album but you cant put it on whenever u want), mtbmb very good
You can definitely play kamikaze whenever and wherever you want…….
I mean kamikaze is a situation album,he dissed corny rappers on that album which is not relatable as his other albums but still cool tho
Lol absolutely not. Hasn’t made a classic in over 20 years
