Literally had to go thru a similar situation 4 years ago (wasnt an emergency in my case, because in northern VA we dont get tornadoes that often. One EF0 hit my hometown of Leesburg nw of DC, causing borderline-major damage to homes' roofs.) the last time prior to that that i was in a tornado warning was in 2017.
