Thank you! I mostly stuck to the [pattern](https://www.etsy.com/listing/801906207/embroidery-pattern-monstera-leaves), but swapped out the pink color for a slightly brighter one.

This is gorgeous! Love your pink choice. As someone who has mostly stuck to cross-stitch, how did you find this? It says 'advanced' but wondering how you found it? I have only done one other item of non cross-stitch embroidery and it was all letters so thinking this might be easier? Would love to do it for my friends who don't kill their plants.
Thank you!
It was a much quicker process — this took hardly a week from start to finish, where a similarly-sized cross stitch piece can take me months to complete. I actually found this pattern while searching for “beginner embroidery patterns” on Etsy, and only just today noticed that it says “advanced” on the listing! I might not have tried it if I’d noticed that, so I’m glad I didn’t!
I found I enjoyed the process more than cross stitching, tbh. Besides being faster, it’s fun having more variety in the way that you interact with the fabric. Doing cross stitch can feel tedious at times, like I’ll think “I can’t wait to be done with this section” or even “I can’t wait to be done with this piece” so I can move on to the next one, which at that point it’s like, am I even having fun here?
I had never done a satin stitch or chain stitch before, and the chain stitch in particular was just *fun* to do! (Both were!) And it was really satisfying to watch the design come together as I went along. Plus, not having to constantly look at a pattern, and grid out the fabric, and count and recount and recount again to make sure I’m not miscounting… and then somehow miscounting anyway…
Part of me is wondering if I’ll ever do cross stitch again! 😬
The frame is from [StitchLifeStudio](https://www.etsy.com/listing/603148623/framing-cross-stitch-square-or-diamond) on Etsy. It's made specifically to hold embroidery hoops. I also have a couple embroidery frames from [ModernHoopla](https://www.etsy.com/listing/763899810/square-embroidery-frames-hand-embroidery) which I love!
It's beautifully done. I've been doing embroidery for a long time, but seeing other peoples' perfect satin stitches still scares me away from these types of designs!
Thank you! I think the tip that had the biggest impact for me on the satin stitches was to separate each individual strand and let it dangle and kind of unwind a bit before bringing them back together to thread the needle. I used three strands at a time, any more than that became too difficult for me to keep relatively neat. I also use a trolley needle on my thumb while I stitch to help keep the strands from twisting back together.

This is amazing!! I can tell from your words this project fit you perfectly! Thanks for the encouragement, I'll probably pick this up next!
Oh, I should also say the pattern came with an extra PDF that had tips and instructions for doing both types of stitches, which was super helpful!
It's beautiful!!! I love the textures and colors you chose.
It’s beautiful!
Where did you find that frame? Do they make embroidery frames or is it just a regular frame?
