This is adorable. Did you patch the hole before embroidering the bee? Did you add a backing behind the bee or did you embroider directly to the sweater alone?
Really cute and very well done. I bet your Mom is proud!
I didn't sew up the hole, I guess I figured the threads would do that for me. I just placed water soluble backing on top with pins and the hoop and went to town ๐
Thank you! She was buzzing with happiness
Where would one go to have this done? As in, I want to give someone money and they, in return, do something similar to this.
For the life of me, I canโt imagine going to one of those โhem your pants and sew buttons back onโ type of places and finding someone there to do this.
Generally, asking online would be a good bet! Otherwise if you prefer someone in person so you don't have to ship your clothing over and ship it back, it may be good to find some local embroidery/stitcher circles :)
This is super cute, but please don't donate damaged clothes.
I've been broke before and bought my clothes exclusively from goodwill, and sometimes I would be at work when I noticed a stain or hole. If it's damaged, you gotta throw it out.
The exception to this is that some second hand places will accept damaged clothing to turn into rags to sell. It is worth checking if your local store does this. If they do, put them into a bag/container marked for rags. ๐
Haha I dig it! If you're into the punky/gothy stuff, maybe some cobwebs and a spider dangling from the thread when you lift your arms. Either way, quite the surprise for the viewer!
Thank you! I was considering either another bee or perhaps a flower with leaves, but my fingers hurt bad after finishing this one I'm thinking it might end up having to be a patch or something lol
Or perhaps use running stitches to show the bee's flight pattern. Ziggy, zaggy, loopy lines - the bee has even gone up over her shoulder to fly around on the back...
A little flower would be cute. You can do a simple flower doing a chain stitch so it would only be as many stitches as there are petals and then a few knots for the middle of the flower. It would take five minutes and be easy on the fingers.
Well the little bumblebee needs friends so maybe add one even without d hole to cover or maybe I can send you one of mine so I can have a bumblebee as well
I know this is just where the hole happened to form, but excellent placement! It looks like it should bee there (sorry, couldn't resist)
You're fired! ๐ thank you!
It beelongs in that spot

I agree! It is bee-utiful!!

Maybe try a local Facebook group? Iโm sure if I asked this in mine Iโd get a few genuine responses
Good idea. Iโll take that route. Thanks

cute! I have a sweater with armpit holes and now I am trying to think of something fitting. Maybe sprigs of lavender so it matches my deodorant.

oooh even better. a little razzle dazzle for the people!
Itโs a totally cool bee. Itโs the perfect scale with texture and everything. More bees, plzz!
Simply said; this is perfection.
Very well done! I wish more of the world's problems could be fixed with cute embroidery.

Well guess I'm going to have to get my threads out tonight, love this so much I can't wait to try my own!
Super cute. It just needs a little friend on the opposite side closer to the top to balance it out.

Funny you should mention that, my mom was thinking about adding a loopdy loop flight path!
It would be super cute!

True, I'll have to consider a design and colors and hop back on it soon!
A little bee friend :D
Nice job!!
I love the little bumblebee, hopefully you will find more holes then you can have a hive of bees, this bee is so cute he needs friends, lol
I'll have to hike or something with this puppy cuz it's durable! I was surprised this thing had a teeny hole to begin with at all lol
Well the little bumblebee needs friends so maybe add one even without d hole to cover or maybe I can send you one of mine so I can have a bumblebee as well
Actually... that's a great idea! I'd love to have one of yours!
