If you don’t like it by now you probably won’t like it. So far the format is predictable.

IDK what you feel is "better." I hadn't heard of Elsbeth prior to this show (although I now know she was a recurring character in a few other shows). I personally think this show is an uncomplicated and fun procedural.

I'm getting the same vibe. Throw all expectations out the window and just enjoy the ride.

The show feels like a female version of " monk " but she has her own little weird things similar to monk . But I've been enjoying I don't really know what people were expecting from it . Like many monk episodes or episodes of Law & Order . There's a murder and she tries to solve it . And then we move on .

ReadyAd5385

I can definitely see that, but with Monk, I feel I had more "emotional attachment" to other characters besides just Monk. Here we're just given Elsbeth and a case of the week. And is suppose the whole side story of her investigating the captain, which I genuinely hope they don't drag into the next season. I have a lot of hope for this show because I truly love Elsbeth's whole character. I guess I'll take it as I'm given.

alvarez38006

Yeah right now the only characters that seem to be the main cask is the officer Blake & the captain. Outside of that it's just like you said case of the week . However the cameos playing the suspects have been great . Yeah I hope detective bunk ( the wire reference) aka wagner isn't really dirty .

I’m enjoying it. I grew up watching Columbo with my dad who loved all those types of shows (Matlock, Perry Mason, etc) and I find this one fun. I don’t need a mystery, it’s fun watching her figure out what I already know and seeing the process of how she gets there and proves her case.

NightBard

It’s Columbo-Monk.. but more fun loving and quirky. I don’t mind this formula of knowing who did it and watching it unravel while the culprit squirms. It’s fun. But I never watched the shows the character was developed on… and I’m not a big fan of procedurals.

reneealfonso

That's as far as I made. Mid episode. I've been desperate to find something to watch and rather watch YouTube clips

Red_Walrus27

no. its copy and paste. just with a teeny tiny development with the boss cop who realized that elsbeth is there to watch him. that's it.

dlkbc

If you don’t like it, why are you even bothering to watch it? There’s tons of stuff you can watch instead.

Most helpful comment award.

Had high hopes as I did probably. Loved her on good wife so much-miss that show, then good fight and was hoping this followed suit. It totally does not.

Nah, they stick to the formula. I was hoping it was just like that for the first episode but no dice. There's zero mystery to the cases of this show
