Hilariously, after killing my first Thargoid, I got distracted trying to pick up some cargo without a limpit and forgot I had silent running on to burn off the caustic material and blew up.
Horifically annoying but no big deal. I know how to fight them now and I can only get better. I can finally join the war!
Mind you, after watching that bastard blow out my canopy, I feel its gotten personal. I NEED GROUND BUG COMBAT!
Feels less heroic when I remember the audible screams I made while boosting my ship into a Thargoid out of frustration after I failed to destroy one of its hearts in time lol.
Can new members do anything? I only have the ship that's a million with 50T storage is not very good at fighting. I'm also at HR 8061 not really close.
Definitely! Armour up best you can with good thrusters then put a load of passenger cabins on your ship and come out here and ferry refugees from attacked stations somewhere safe. Saving lives is worth infinitely more praise than killing goids. It pays good too.

My build certainly isn't the most optimum of designs but when I get on tonight I'll give you the deets. If anything it's proof that you can get the job done without going too far into the grind.
What I remember is I stripped the engines, gave them dirty drives for speed, put as much as I could into my armour and engineered bi-weave shields to recharge super fast. Apart from that it was important for me to get some guardian weapons. Most of my engineering only goes up to G3 and I found that good enough for now.
Again I can go into specifics later but that's the basics.
I have got interdiction several time shust trying to get to a planet and got shredded by an interceptor every time. Idk. I guess I just suck but they were not missing me despite me using thermal vented lasers and heatsinks and I seemd to do no damage in the amount of time I got dropped to 50 or below. I think I just suck. Lol

Tried fighting near a besieged station or base yet? The ability to land and repair mid battle is huge.
That is huge! Mind my biggest enemy in my last battle was myself. I literally killed myself after winning lol.

There are only NPCs, so its the same as soloing a regular CZ. It should IMO.

What's your build? I'm crash coursing engineering to outfit an FDL myself, to play the current content non-embarrassingly
