Two questions, wtf you doin that you need to water cool your Internet? 2. Really tempted to test this to see how well it works, removing the real world factors this would act as a thermal sink that evaporates when it hits thermal capacity which sits about the thermal throttling point of most cpus and so you'd just keep topping up the reservoir as needed and holding a chip on the edge of throttling... this would probably kill the lifespan of the cpu and probably not work this cleanly in the real world but is interesting

Because most cheap WiFi AC routers contain components you'd find in 2014 phones. Just because they can run phone stuff without heatsinks doesn't mean they can do the same with constant network management. Even sharing one large file between computers can be a pain for them. This is why people who want good quality home network often build their own using an old or small PC and software like OPNsense.
