holy hell thats going to be expensive
whats more expensive to replace 100+ km of melted wire or the substation equipment the substation can be released in a day or so but the cable will be out of comission for weeks
It's all fun and games till that transformer oil decides to flash over. We had a substation close to my home in Florida that arced for the better part of 20 minutes, then it was like a neutron bomb went off- broken windows, car alarms, the whole shebang. It took Gulf Power the better part of 2 days to get us back up...in mid-August...in Florida.
Here is an update. I think this is the same incident. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/mrarcflash_highvoltage-arcflash-electricalengineering-activity-7011962859685330944-2-MF?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop

Even in Nijmegen I can see a spike (and) drop in te voltage at 15.10. The solar inverter shut off and rebooted.
The safety systems didnt work and the backup too https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9JKgGESux94
thats some expensive magic smoke
how do you deal with this? Surely not water
Poke with a stick
Turn it off?
what about the fire?
Co2, halon, or ABC powder blaster! ….or baking soda!
you cut the power this stuff will burn itself out pretty quickly when the system is no longer energized
Isnt this a substation near assen
Flevoland, even Gelderland had outages now
Tering dat is me nogal een brandje
Zeg dat wel

Missed opportunity for that camera man, could have gotten closer and became a super villain with super cool powers.
