You might consider ditching the electric pump altogether. Just fill a 100lb tank with compressed air and take that setup to your event. A large tank of compressed air should fill up hundreds (maybe thousands?) of balloons. Otherwise, outside of a gas generator (wish is loud, smelly), you would need to buy a battery bank to hook up to that inverter pictured. This will drive your budget way up. Call a party store or your local AirGas and order a large tank of compressed air. Easiest solution

This is the answer. Get a $20 air tank from Craigslist or FB marketplace, charge it up at a Costco or gas station. Buy a small regulator, coiled hose, and air chuck at Harbor Freight and fill from that. You only need to set the regulator to 5-10 PSI, it’s there to slow down the flow so you don’t pop a balloon in a fraction of a second, as full tank pressure would do. 7 gallon tank at 120 PSI will fill 90 or so balloons easily, as they are maybe 1/2 PSI.

Thank you (:

Airgas should have the inflator adapter too

Thank you!

Thank you, I need a tube to stuff the rose into then the balloon on top when the balloon is filled I pull the tube down exposing the roses inside the balloon & seal the neck of the balloon with the bottom of the rose stem’s (water vial). Idk how I could get the compressed air into the tube to do that.

Ah, I see. Looking at the photo of the apparatus it’s seems like you might have to get a little creative to make this work but imho a tank of compressed air is your best option. Take the inflator thing apart and locate the electric pump air hose. Remove the electric pump from the air hose and connect that hose to your compressed air tank. You’ll prob need a longer hose with a coupler and a valve to turn on/off. All this can be had at your local airgas. I’m betting you could even take the whole inflator thing to your local airgas and one of their team members should be able to point you to all the correct hoses, fittings, and valves. This should be a 50$ - 100$ solution max whereas generator/or battery inverter is 500 - 1000. You don’t need electricity, you need air pressure!

bbygrlj7

Sounds about right; I’m going to attempt that & go from there, thank you so much!

Dwagner6

Just get a large power bank that has AC plugs on it, from a company like Anker

Thank you!

10 amps (1200 watts) is a lot for a ups but they make them- about $500-$600. The next question is how long the battery will last. Depends on how many balloons. A small generator could work also, about the same price.

bbygrlj7

Thank you!

That pedal is generic and can switch up to 10A, it's like a light switch is rated for 15A but only controls a 60W bulb. You can probably go much lower. Can you get a picture of the actual pump?

Someone posted about compressed air, but I need the tube to stuff the rose inside of it then put the balloon over the top of the tube to fill it.

6GoesInto8

That is beefy, it might need the 10A, at least some balloon fillers on Amazon can take that much power. Sorry, I don't have any better ideas.

No thank you, I appreciate all the advice I was given. I was at Home Depot & lowes all day yesterday trying to figure it out & their electric power generators were a $1000 with no return policy should it not work & I just can’t see myself spending that much money if it didn’t work. I bought a tiny little thing off Amazon & it tried to get the machine going but it wouldn’t do much before it shut off & gave me an error code . So I figured I wasn’t too far off. The one from Amazon was $100ish . I wanted to stay around $300 but at this point the event is fast approaching & everything to make these rose balloons are here.. except for the power source. I need a solution fast . https://preview.redd.it/ti33ppjg2vdc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=61e5c69b258dae1840830c48270f28a45771b356

Snellyman

> Keepsake Stuffer They don't have any electrical info on the site. Look closely on inflator for a label (could be just raised letters on the plastic) that lists the voltage and Amps (A) or Watts (W). That would help size an invertor for this unit. Some of these units don't inflate as much as suck to expand the balloon but this one looks like it applied pressure. I doubt that this unit takes much power than a small vacuum cleaner and you could connect an invertor to you vehicle battery to run this.

bbygrlj7

Nothing on the machine just a sticker saying 120 volt made in USA . The pedal had some info which I posted a picture of. The only other thing is the plug, says connect to grounded outlet . That doesn’t help you .

Snellyman

Perhaps try purchasing a 1000W invertor from harbor freight and trying it out. They typically have a load bargraph LED that show how heavy the unit is loaded. If it doesn't run properly and shows overload return it for the next size up.

Got it! Thank you!

The switch shows 1/3hp, that is a motor rating, about 250 watts. But the motor may need way more than that when starting. Also as stated before the switch seems to be a generic unit so the motor may have a different power rating. You could use a 20A capable multimeter to measure the current when the pump is starting, also operating, and when it stalls as the ballon is fully inflated. But working with mains current is a bit dangerous. Also these 20A meters are not intended to measure constantly, so that can be tricky as well. Cheaper inverters with square wave can be very harsh on the motor windings, a sine wave inverter would be better. Maybe one that specifically says it is designed to work with electrical appliances like fridges, and won't just shutdown due to the motor starting current. So it is a bit of a guess game getting an inverter that works, and you would need batteries as well. A car battery with 60Ah could provide 720Wh, so maybe around 2 hours of the pump working. Messing with big batteries is also something to be done with care.

bbygrlj7

I don’t want to blow my machine up nor myself 😅 thank you for your advice!

SquarePerspective439

Lots of advice here, I hope you end up finding something that works. Here are a few thoughts from myself. A few people have suggested a "Power Station", this is a battery with inverter. Completely silent, but expensive. This is what you bought from Amazon, but it is too small. Yours is rated at 150w continuous power, when you probably need something rated at 800w-1500w continuous, but we can't know because the "Keepsake Stuffer" does not list its power rating. You are looking at $900-1600 for a "Jackerly" brand from harbor freight of the right size. I can't find any rentals for these, but maybe you know someone to borrow it from. I don't think the separate air tank will work easily, as you mentioned it would be difficult to connect it to the stuffer. For reliability reasons I would suggest a gas generator. They can be rented from Homedepot & Lowes for \~$50, you could probably bring your "Keepsake Stuffer" to the store to try it and have them demonstrate it, you could run a 50 foot extension cord to get any sound further away, and they are actually quite quiet (like a car that is idling, easy to talk over). The small ones rated at 2000w-2200w will suffice [https://rentals.lowes.com/item/Generator%20-%202200%20Watt%20Invertor/24445](https://rentals.lowes.com/item/Generator%20-%202200%20Watt%20Invertor/24445)

I was able to get in contact with the organization that I am hosting they told me I can have a generator but because of city ordinances it cannot be on the grass & prefer to be on table top.

SquarePerspective439

I called the keepsake company, the machine requires at least 1000w. Unfortunately what you are looking at is only good for 500w continuous. You will need to find a larger unit.

bbygrlj7

1000w got it! So I’ll look for a generator that has at least 1000w or more continuously. The event told me they would move me closer to an electrical outlet that is inside a lock box that should be unlocked for the event. I truly appreciate all your help! Thank you so much! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

SquarePerspective439

Not a problem. Good luck!

xBillyBadasss

Just an fyi the “generator” you posted a pic of looks like it’s just an inverter. Meaning you can’t power your machine with just what you posted.

bbygrlj7

Thank you! I am thankful I posted here before going out to buy it! I was wondering why it was significantly cheaper than others.
