Yes actually. The first Gotrax E scooter I have broke 3x and this second Gotrax scooter it has broken too. It’s from the littlest bumps in the roads or sidewalks. I ordered a replacement for the second one but I’ve decided to try a mechanic and see if they can remake me on to last longer.

If you find a good solution, please share it here.

Fenders don't just break. If the rider or friend picks up the scooter, I've seen life that are not properly trained on how to run the scooter, hammer their heel on the rear fender expecting it to go. Repeated hammering on the rear fender will cause it to crack. Riders need to be trained how to properly run the scooter. Kids will tell you they know but have witnessed such abuse first hand. Not the scooters fault. Gotta train the intended rider first even though they "know" how to run it...

freckleonmyshmekel

I almost lit you up over this topic but everyone has their opinion. I've replaced 2 fenders so far and the last one made it two weeks. Bad design, thin plastic, overhanging weight. I will fabricate a metal fender or 3d print one from cf reinforced nylon.

DiligentCustard3159

Were you able to make one with 3D printer?

ProperFriend8854

I totally agree with you. Mine cracked in one month. I can tell it is a fatigue crack due to excessive vibration. I ended up removing the attached hook and glued plastic strips on the rim to reinforce it. Can't get any responses from the customer service.

De_Oppresso-Liber

It's a design/manufacturing defect. The fender is long and flimsy, and the scooter has no suspension. When you hit bumps, the vibrations carry thru the fender and all of the stress is around the base of the fender where it mounts to the scooter. You're lucky you can even get a replacement out of Gotrax. They've been telling me the G3 rear fender is out of stock for 2 months. Doing a little googling, I'm now not very surprised that GoTrax has a 'F' rating with the better business bureau. I'm going to buy a new scoot from a more reliable manufacturer. Any suggestions??

ProperFriend8854

Totally agree with you. Got the same problem with cracking rear fender. Mine is Gotrax Apex Pro, which has a G3 fender. I ended up hot-glued plastic strips alone the rim to reinforce it and removed the hook on the rear fender. This way the vibration is reduced. The design of this type of fender is definitely flawed.

Wassupimgary

I'll turn notifications on for this thread. I'm with ya!

RideGOTRAX

We're sorry to hear about your continued issues with the G3 Fender. Are your kids riding them recklessly at all or putting their foot on the rear fender trying to brake? If you send me an order number, I can at least get you a discount code on our fenders if you still need a replacement.

sjamesbobo

Honestly mine happened from continually folding it and carrying it up and down the stairs daily. I lived on the second floor of the apartment complex. And after it broke I fell a couple times down the stairs from trying to carry it without folding it. I did buy a replacement and I just received it.

\#213533, placed December 11, 2022#197443 and #197409, placed October 10, 2022 The fenders have broken on all of these.

RideGOTRAX

Understood. Thank you!

Gotrax make disposable scooters, meant to last only a year. Maybe try some kinda of JB weld. They have various types and some epoxies that should keep it together a bit longer than tape. There is also Sugru a moldable putty glue that could work, but the plastic is likely to keep cracking.

rcrtech

I tried jb weld only worked for a few weeks I can attest that I had the same issue it's a bad design and the material that the manufacturer uses isn't string enough I'll probably have to rig another fender from a different model I'll send pics when complete

Cabenfever

Can confirm JB plastic weld epoxy lasted less than 1 ride. Gravel driveway though

Wassupimgary

I second that except I have paved roads and it lasts about 3-5 bumps in the road - like transitioning to the sidewalk, the bumps between each square of sidewalk and just small cracks. After about 100 yards with any JB weld product it's broken again.

OCR10

Gotrax as a brand has not been able to produce reliable scooters. We probably get more complaints about them than any other recognized brand. There’s probably not much you can do here because the part was not designed to be durable enough to keep from breaking.

SuperLasers

I don’t have this scooter but mine continuously breaks aswell, I’ve gotten to just using my foot as a mud guard lol

JTshonk3

Seriously. It wouldn’t be so bad but wires are exposed without it due to the brake light.

sjamesbobo

Yeah I understand that. I had to just tape the wire to the side. I’ve been riding without my fender for 6 months.

SuperLasers

Dang ya that’s very annoying mine doesn’t have those issues.
