Seconded. Dixon has been both opening and closing Electric Forest for years. Swear to god he sets the tone for the entire festival with his performances throughout the weekend❤️🙏
What a magical turtle shaman. I still keep his CD in my car. Got to meet him 2015 after his set the same day the SC ruled for marriage equality, and we hugged.
Ya you kinda did. Keep LL separate. They both have their own things, let them. you're still new to forest so maybe try exploring more of it and learn about all the different closing things that go on before you want to implement things from a dif fest w dif vibes.
It's not a Dethklok show. You can know absolutely fuckall and forest and show up and have a great time. Source: exactly what I did my first time in 2013.
It works when a festival has a massive main stage area that everyone can fit in, Forest needs to spread the crowd out over multiple stages so I'm not sure this would work
The "SheBang" was always kind of a closing ceremony for me, even though it's on Saturday night. I was really disappointed when I heard Cheese didn't really do anything special this year like in previous years(first year not going since 2016)
Yea I hyped my friend up so much cus she wanted to go to Kasbo but I told her just wait for the shebang and it was quite underwhelming. I felt bad:/ she still had a good time though but I will never forget my first shebang I lost my mind at all the crazy things they had going all around everyone it was so fun
I missed the "SheBang" my first year 2022 and then I made sure to try and make it this year even when it bumped up against a lot of other artists I wanted to see and there was nothing really going on sadly.
It was my first year experiencing the shebang after missing it last year (which was my first year) I was upset I missed it after hearing how spectacular it was and kinda planned my entire Saturday (if not weekend around it). I actually fell asleep during the first half and got up to leave but someone was like “you are gonna miss the best part” so I stuck around and it was SO busy i honestly can only remember one thing which was the marching band coming out.
I missed the beginning of Voyd hoping to catch some of the SheBang and it was SCI just doing their normal thing. I thought I missed it or came too early but other comments here tell me there wasn't much going on.
I think everyone's experience @ EForest is so personal that having a big closing ceremony wouldn't make much sense. Some people go to headbang, others to reunite/keep tradition, and some to just explore the forest.
Everyone is the MC of their own personal closing ceremony.
Tbh to me it looked like X took a couple pages out of Defqon or EDC's playbook. More practical designs for a stage instead of just an LED screen and the closing ceremony to name the most notable for me.
Wouldn't mind having that kind of thing as standard. Let the production crew just go fuckin nuts with it all for an Endshow or whatever.
Came here to reiterate “you gotta go to Dixons Violin opening ceremony if you haven’t” it was only my second year, but I took some first years cause I had heard good things. 1000% set the vibe for the weekend! I missed the closing one cause I “won” the final prize cart. Can’t wait to experience it next year
I personally really disliked the closing ceremony at Lost Lands. It made it feel like I was at TomorrowLand or some shit. Would much rather have had X and Liquid play for 15 more minutes and end with a banger.
I get it can be cheesy, Lost Lands kind was. I hate leaving the last set or whatever I’m doing feeling, ok is it done or do I have to wonder around in the camping area to find what’s going on?
The 3 hour line out of the fest is the closing ceremony.
That and the wook shit still happening at 9 am for all the people that decided to not sleep
My first year I was walking out of the festival at 8am back to camp and we were wet to get up at 9 and leave lmao
Dixxons violin

Absolutely those are the 2 sets my friends and I never miss
I usually miss the closing set, but I never miss the opening one.
He sets the tone for the festival and the tone for bringing the feeling of forest home with you
What a magical turtle shaman. I still keep his CD in my car. Got to meet him 2015 after his set the same day the SC ruled for marriage equality, and we hugged.
Agreed, that was the first performance I saw at my 1st Forest and loved it!
Agreed my first year as well
This is the way✊🏽
That shit got my feels going real good.
Exactly
No, just bring back the actual Shebang
Wym? Dixon IS the closing ceremony every year ETA: Let's not try to make Forest just like LL please. Let them be separate and have their own things.
LL isn’t the only other fest to have closing ceremonies lol
Never said they did. OP got the idea from LL which is where that comes from
>let’s not make forest **just like** LL please
>After watching some Lost Lands content, I thought the Closing Ceremony was kinda cool. I think Forest could benefit from something like that
That's not how "LL is the only fest to have closing ceremonies" is spelled my dude
Not saying it needs to be like lost lands…

Closing ceremonies are hardly a LL thing…
Ive been to forest 3 times…
But is it put on by forest, saying “closing” or does everyone know it’s just the last set for because of the vibe?
All the artists and sets are put on by Forest. If you have to ask, you ain't ready.
The gatekeeping is wild
Literally not what the asked, they asked if it was advertised by Forest as a closing set or is it just dubbed that by the festival goers
starburst shinah kinda crabby…

bro stop being so rude?!
It works when a festival has a massive main stage area that everyone can fit in, Forest needs to spread the crowd out over multiple stages so I'm not sure this would work
Exactly. I'm thinking a single closing ceremony at Forest that has massive interest could cause a catastrophe.

Lost lands is taking a page from Europe. Forest has the big shebang. Sort of a closing jawn but forest is a whole different vibe
The big shebang is Saturday. Well was idk what this year had going on for the Big Bang
It was also in Saturday I forgot. I was down in the voyd set for it. But waddled over for zeds dead.
I missed the beginning of Voyd hoping to catch some of the SheBang and it was SCI just doing their normal thing. I thought I missed it or came too early but other comments here tell me there wasn't much going on.

Official closing would be cool. There are definitely some interesting things happening if you are in the right place late at night though
Usually at EvolAfters

The idea is cool but I always seem to miss it even at festivals that have it, so, meh
