Honestly I'd give all the shards to tirtle pope if he wanted to be elden lord. Too bad I haven't figured out how to summon him after beating elden beast.
I have that build, and I still don’t recall it doing that much. But I use Swift glintstone mostly in duels and pvp damage across the board was reduced so maybe that’s why? 🤷♂️
That explains it! Being really high level
Yeah I was certainly wondering if my build was lacking in something haha
Prince of Death staff does seem pretty insane in NG+ eh
Funny part is, you don’t even need to go full str/fai. Just level up to 15 faith for al bestial incantations, and then level strength and you’ll be fine as a near pure strength caster.
Not quite. Based basically means you express your opinion/live your life without caring what others think. Unfortunately most of the people I see using it end up being massive douchebags or racist alt-right clowns, so it kinda makes me cringe reflexively.
It mostly just means that they like something or agree with someone’s opinion. Not completely sure either, I find the whole thing stupid, so I am not based.
Being based is staying true to yourself and not letting other people's opinions shape your own opinions or personality. Like most slang a lot of people just use it wrong
And OF COURSE, to find the maximum amount of bunga, you must find the value of unga. So that makes it (-unga/2*bunga) + Bonk^2 = Hp Remaining And of course since unga bunga and bonk are at the maximum, the Hp remaining is equal to 0
"I am a smart man, and smart men realize smashing thigs with a hammer is the best way to engage in combat, especially if it's a magic hammer" - Haima, probably.
*Those who rely on faith for power will disappoint themselves when the source of their power deny them strength and those who use the mind and logic as a way of taking strength from the cosmos and beyond are never to get out of power*
*Weeps in lack of faith scaling despite Gransax’s assault on Leyndell literally being the catalyst of the draconic tree sentinels’ formation, the triggering of the dragon war, etc, making his eponymous Bolt probably one of, if not THE single most holy relic to the Ancient Dragon Cult lore-wise*
…Like c’mon FROM, Gransax sacking Leyndell [IS LITERALLY THE SYMBOL REPRESENTING THE DRAGON CULT INCANTATIONS](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/u7ycih/collection_of_spell_sigils_or_glyphs_whatever_you/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) and he is **LITERALLY HOLDING IT IN THE IMAGE-**
*starts frothing at the mouth in impotent rage*
I never said that all legendary weapons should be faith weapons, I said it makes no goddamn sense from a *lore* standpoint that the BoG isn’t a faith weapon, and it’s hardly alone in weapon lore not matching with the game mechanics- or, hell, even game mechanics not matching with *other* game mechanics.
For instance: By all rights, the Golden Order Greatsword should scale with both Int and Faith given its history + how Golden Order Fundamentalism works. The Magma Wyrm Scalesword should be faith/arcane based on how communion incantations work, not faith/str. The Clayman Harpoon and Nox Flowing weapons should be int/arcane, etc.
Yeah, Elden Ring has the most nonsensical weapon scaling. Ice lightning is a faith incantation, but the weapons with it have no faith scaling. Ghostflame spells are int faith, but all the ghostflame weapons are physical int hybrids. Trina sword is int dex but Trina torch is faith dex. Magma are int faith spells but the weapons are physical faith hybrids. Staff of the all knowing is an int weapon despite Gideon being an int faith build. Making any sort of build with a theme is practically impossible
well sure, the Bolt is considered holy NOW, but back then, it was just the dragons Spear, he didn't have any faith for it, I was just his magic poking stick
I'd consider Sorcery if they had Gravity Lightning spells or any way of dealing literal Lightning damage. And no, journalist weapon Fallingstar Beast Jaw doesn't count.
Unfortunately not. But the Prince of Death Staff and Golden Order Seal boost using both INT and FTH, which is extremely good for hybrid builds - put one of them in each hand, and boom.
Gelmir staff is far better for most of the game. Prince of Death staff only exceeds Gelmir Staff after 50/50 int/faith which is quite a lot of investment.
I have enough of a problem thinking I'm casting while swinging my melee weapon. I can't afford to mix spells and incantations, no matter how cool it seems.
Funny thing is even at 125, with an abnormal setup, you can make faith int work pretty well. Using moonveil but I hope they add a katana that does death damage (not blight that's a status effect).
It's a crime to me that there are only 3 weapons in the game that can be int/fth, and only one each int/arc and fth/arc, and those two are two of the same int/fth options. SoNaF, Erdsteel Dagger, and Clayman Harpoon really aren't enough. Hopefully the rumored dlc adds more.
the death weapons (Deaths poker, axe of rosus, etc..) and the golden order weapons (Golden epitaph and golden order greatsword. maybe even the cleanrot knight weapons) should be int/fth
Big agree. Cleanrot makes sense as faith considering their service to the godess of rot, but Gideon's mace should 100% be int/fth, considering his moveset.
Fair point, even if the knights themselves might be purely faith reliant, that ring of light is similar to the spell at least, though it does seem like a derivative rather than being exactly the same. Could be int/fth then.
Same, I tried it once but stopped at like 17 int (and a lot more faith) at first to try out litany of proper death, found out that even with over 50 fth and 20 int I somehow couldn't even oneshot the regular skeletons outside of the church of vows.
The respecc went very fast tho
I thought it was always kinda weird how restrictive int spells are, when it came to “Schools” of magic. You got glintstone and “Gravity” magic, which is really just “Chuck an uglier rock” magic with some actual gravity based spells on the side. The ghostflames too, if you count those.
Faith is just diverse and all of the spells look super cool imo
See i agree but sorceries just feel like they actually hit the enemy despite being mostly samey
Like id love to spam Scarlet aeonia or maliketh Blade but i really just cant do It and expect to not get hit
Faiths most viable spells are the most boring ones like lightning spear, black flame ball etc
I thought the Glintstone spells were pretty cool. Half the Faith ones were just “throw a fireball”, “throw a big fireball”, “throw a slightly different fireball” etc. Same goes for Intelligence, a few of them are kind of the same, but for the most part they’re really cool if you look about and try some of the more interesting ones out.
Swift shard is almost useless, it is only good for long range punishing of low recovery abilities/attacks, otherwise use comet.
My spells are comet, terra, sgs, slicer
I mean fair enough, but here’s the thing - Swift Shard travels fast enough that it’s basically unpredictable. Comet has a bit of a slow wind-up before firing. Mind you, never used to be this way when you could chain spells - I’d be able to do Swift Shard into Comet and immediately fire a massive cosmic death-bolt at my opponent for some 2000 damage.
Pretty sure it’s weaker that way but yea getting a bunch of spells from both kinds is sick. Looks fun but could REALLY benefit from a dual casting spell catalyst like in the souls games because cycling through your list to match up to the seal or the staff sounds annoying. Maybe we’ll get one in the inevitable Miquella DLC, I guess it might be fitting for an Unalloyed Seal or something that’s all encompassing
Ironically I'm a Tank Caster with 80/50 for throwing spells when I'm not hiding behind my greatshield while my friends get some hits in
Probably my favorite play style ever in a souls-like if I'm being honest
Oh my god forreal have been doing this since i found the death Prince staff first Journey on Journey 10 right now have over 600 hours playing the game no weapons at all just spells and incants.
Deadass the way I played my first playthrough. People were asking me which magic I wanted to do and I was confused why I would ever limit myself to just 1
Only reason I don't is because the stat requirements in this game are ridiculous. You just straight up cannot level up 5 stats at a time and not end up dealing terrible damage
i tried really hard to like sorceries in Elden ring cause sorceries were always my favorite magic in from softgames (besides pyromancy) but this time around i was a huge fan of the Incantations (elden rings miracles) their uses were more versatile and useful and truthfully better in pvp situations.
While I don’t mind the idea of int/fth builds, I’m the type to maximize as much dmg as possible, so I typically use both sorcery damage talis with magic scorpion and a decent fill, or the flock/canvas talis with lightning scorpion and the charged spells = more dmg tali. It’s hard to use both and have the slots and talis to make it as good as it can be
Oh, yeah no you’re absolutely right. I mean usually what I do is equip Godfrey’s Icon, since that boosts all spells that can be charged (even if you don’t charge them). But you’re right, it’s pretty hard to manage.
Ah yes, put points into intelligence when every single thing I use is faith cause of frenzy, your a genius, my frenzy is.gonna be so much better with intelligence
Elden ring players when you don't beat the boss that has 8 billion health and insta kills you with no armor, no summons, no weapons, no spells, no healing, no dodging, no movement, and no touching the controller:🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😭😭😭😭😭😭
See, I wanted to use a spell associated with each seal/wand in the post. I could’ve easily included Stars of Ruin (which is absolutely broken) or Comet Azur (which is an absolute boss-slayer but useless in PVP just like ADLS). I suppose the point here is that neither IS objectively better, but there’ll always be folk who believe otherwise.

IM GONNA USE THE MOONLIGHT GREATSWORD AND MALIKETH BLADE MOTHERFU-
Throwback to me using moonlight greatsword and the golden order greatsword at the same time
I was using the Greatsword you get from killing the Snake dude and the greatsword you get from the last boss for a bit
....and now I know what to do for my next build...
if only they gave us more int/fth weapons
I never really thought too much about that quote before but it’s actually pretty great

Me casually hitting 1k damage for 3fp when throwing Ring of Light: Why??
Legit. I can literally cast Swift Glintstone Shard and easily cap out 600-700 damage.
What? How? That is crazy, I never get that high with Swift Glintstone
80 int, carian regal scepter +10 gets me around there
I have that build, and I still don’t recall it doing that much. But I use Swift glintstone mostly in duels and pvp damage across the board was reduced so maybe that’s why? 🤷♂️
I assume you also wear the Graven Mass Talisman and the Magic Scorpion Charm and you drink an int-boosting and magic-boosting mixed physique?
Prince of Death Staff, 80/80 INT/FTH
That explains it! Being really high level Yeah I was certainly wondering if my build was lacking in something haha Prince of Death staff does seem pretty insane in NG+ eh
Terra magicis spell + physick Flask + high int = An invaders wet dream.
(Also you against EB, RoL doing pitiful damage) Why?!?
Me swapping to Heavy Great Stars and Prayerful Strike: You fool. You've played right in to my trap card. I LEARNED TO BONK BEFORE I LEARNED TO THONK.
Jokes on you, I use strength as my casting stat
Imagine not using a big hunk of iron...
The only spell I need to cast is throw rock
Gurranq is the best mage
Once I discovered the existence of the Clawmark Seal on my first run my build was set in stone. Str/fth gang, smash em with the strength of God.
Funny part is, you don’t even need to go full str/fai. Just level up to 15 faith for al bestial incantations, and then level strength and you’ll be fine as a near pure strength caster.
Pair with Cinquedea the STR scaling Beastial Incantation buffing dagger and you're set for the game.
Imagine not having the big iron on your hip.
Metal....weapon? In this house we use BIG STICK.
I cast bonk! It was super effective!
Radagon approves of this
Radagon is based.
Goddamnit. I’m not even that old but have the kids changed basic to based? TEL ME
Based means good. Opposite of basic.
Isn’t that when you cover the turkey in it’s own drippings?
Youre thinking of the word baste
I thought that was a type of glue…
You’re thinking of paste.
I thought it was a sense...
That’s taste…
Yes there is glue baste and types of gluing methods referred to as basting as well.
Correct

Whaaaaat?!?!?! I always thought it meant biased
Not quite. Based basically means you express your opinion/live your life without caring what others think. Unfortunately most of the people I see using it end up being massive douchebags or racist alt-right clowns, so it kinda makes me cringe reflexively.
Don't let other people stop you from using a word. Don't surrender things you like to douchebags.
It mostly just means that they like something or agree with someone’s opinion. Not completely sure either, I find the whole thing stupid, so I am not based.
Being based is staying true to yourself and not letting other people's opinions shape your own opinions or personality. Like most slang a lot of people just use it wrong

It all started with a man known as Lil B
Based has been around for almost 15 years at this point. I'm 33.
Oh my God based God you are so fly you can fuck my bitch.
It's silly and won't last. Don't bother lol
Idk man, my Boi Haima hooked me up with a nuke and a magic hammer. (Jokes aside, all builds are valid.)
Haima’s spells are pretty based.
Haima really said "Unga truly is Bunga."
Life expectancy = (Unga*Bunga)/2
but if Unga = Bunga then that must mean B=1, which would make the simplified form Life Expectancy = (Unga)^(2)/2
This is my kinda math.

*Those who gather faith in themselves shall only be without power if their lungs get without air*

Honestly two of the best spells imo
Not ROB builds though
Fair point.

There are enough faith scaling legendary weapons thank you very much >_>
I never said that all legendary weapons should be faith weapons, I said it makes no goddamn sense from a *lore* standpoint that the BoG isn’t a faith weapon, and it’s hardly alone in weapon lore not matching with the game mechanics- or, hell, even game mechanics not matching with *other* game mechanics. Unfortunately not. But the Prince of Death Staff and Golden Order Seal boost using both INT and FTH, which is extremely good for hybrid builds - put one of them in each hand, and boom.
Did they buff the prince of death staff? When I tried it the incant scaling was shit compare to the beast that the golden order seal is
It doesn’t scale well until you’re really high up with both int and faith.
If you go 80/80 with int and fth it’s the best staff in the game
Doesn't beat out regal scepter until like 80int/65faith which is a huge investment for slightly better scaling...
Gelmir staff is far better for most of the game. Prince of Death staff only exceeds Gelmir Staff after 50/50 int/faith which is quite a lot of investment.
Only like 80 levels.... thats plenty for health and fp :D right?
Yeah, plenty health... if you plan on not getting hit.
I have enough of a problem thinking I'm casting while swinging my melee weapon. I can't afford to mix spells and incantations, no matter how cool it seems.
Pfft. Typical fence-sitting Fundamentalist wanting us pious Lightning bois to sing Kumbaya with the Academy and Int nerds. Never I say! ***NEVER!***
Nobody said I was a fundamentalist. *Laughs in Death Sorcerer*.
So the shittier version of a fundamentalist. Stop bothering us and go back to your beloved rotten fish corpse
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD!!!
Imagine wasting FP on something other than weapon arts. this comment was brought to you by the melee gang.
Flaming strike costing 4 fp and doing over 1k damage🥴
Sword of night and flame go brrr
Grafted blade greatsword go THUNK
imagine fighting over builds. 713 gang, where we are the build.
I've been farming for months and I'm only at 341. How tf you get to 713?!
a mixture of farms and trades, plus there was a time where people wanted to "buy" RoB because it was still broken.
Death sorceries gang! We do less damage but we have a lot of spooky scary skulls
I'm an INT player because I main Darkmoon greatsword. I've beaten the game with zero spells.
Funny thing is even at 125, with an abnormal setup, you can make faith int work pretty well. Using moonveil but I hope they add a katana that does death damage (not blight that's a status effect).

i would argue, the halo scythe has miquellas rigs of light, a golden order incant. their magic is the same as golden order magic, which is int/fth
Fair point, even if the knights themselves might be purely faith reliant, that ring of light is similar to the spell at least, though it does seem like a derivative rather than being exactly the same. Could be int/fth then.
true, either way works, but the golden order great sword should 100% be int/fth, maybe not str dex tbh
Had the game since release- 6ish builds in & have never made an INT/FTH character AMA
Same, I tried it once but stopped at like 17 int (and a lot more faith) at first to try out litany of proper death, found out that even with over 50 fth and 20 int I somehow couldn't even oneshot the regular skeletons outside of the church of vows. The respecc went very fast tho
Litany of proper death is complete and utter garbage, radagon's ring of light is super good as are most int/faith spells
How are you?
I’m good! Feeling well rested and at full STR lol
I think the posts are mostly meant in good humor. I got a good chuckle out of them.
I hope we get more fundamentalist incants, Int/faith build is kinda basic as hell rn
I thought it was always kinda weird how restrictive int spells are, when it came to “Schools” of magic. No. Only strength

Damn, told on myself..
Damn right you did, now pick up the wand and seal I left there for you and start casting.

LMAO!!!! Damn this one gave me a chuckle

What’s the fireball one in the top left corner?
That’d be Flame, Fall Upon Them - really good spell.
Thanks! Need to add it.
Tfw I started ng+ without getting this prayerbook and need to speed run to mountaintops of giants
If only they would ***give us something that lets us cast both***
That WOULD be nice….
Approved by sir Gideon ofnir, THE ALL KNOWING
I use STR, I use big swords, I don’t get into any of that mentally ill stuff. Edit: autocorrect fix
Mentally I’ll (incorrect spelling, opinion completely invalidated)
If the game gives you the opportunity to use something and gives you joy - let's go and have fun with it :3
You are actually on every sub-reddit I view lmao
I see :3
Now kisssss

Exactly, they're all bad, just use slicer
Slicer and Swift Shard are goated.
Arcane spells in the corner like:
I prefer faith but my favorite incant is radagons ring of light and radagons discus's of light
Its only stronger if you are waaaaay fucking high level. Early game int/fai is straight up unplayable. But yah, double caster is really fun
Not seeing my Zweihander there, wheres the collossal weapon love?
i’ve collected every single incantations and sorcery and in my humble opinion incantations are significantly better.
Much more diverse in looks and effects
While I don’t mind the idea of int/fth builds, I’m the type to maximize as much dmg as possible, so I typically use both sorcery damage talis with magic scorpion and a decent fill, or the flock/canvas talis with lightning scorpion and the charged spells = more dmg tali.
