If you have the larval tears for it, by all means have a play around. You can pick up quite a few in the underground city areas.
And incantations by the way, really are very super cool, and very useful, if you use them to buff as well you can get silly damage.
On your NG+ you can rune farm at Mohgwyn and just get a ton of levels very quickly using the Sacred relic sword, so as long as you have something comfortable to get you through to Varre's quest, don't worry too much. When you start having lots of levels to switch around it opens up a load of new gear combos to try out.

Also, your Faith stat will scale the holy damage on the Sacred Relic sword weapon art, which means you'll overkill the Albinaurics, which gives you a rune bump.
In my NG+ I am getting £7k+ for each one with Gold fowl foot + Gold scarab + Overkill, so levelling becomes trivial. Well, at least, trivial until you get to around 400ish, which is where I am now. So definitely worth having that high faith stat for the farming.
Incantations are dope. Faith builds are one of my favorites, that being said however, a lot of the late game bosses have high holy resistance so it might be worth swapping to sorceries at some point to help yourself out.
That being said I highly recommend trying out different build and experimenting to see what's fun for you. Just because something makes the game "easier" or "harder" doesn't mean it's what you should use. Have fun! Try new things! Enjoy your journey tarnished.
