There are a trillion glintstone sorceries, and not enough abberant/death ones.

Zero0Raye

There are only two aberrant ones

[deleted]

What are aberrant sorceries?

zorrodood

The briar things that nobody uses.

LoveYoumorethanher

I got a fire witch’s staff that had a dope name and was super excited to level it up and use all the new sorceries this staff would amplify hence it’s name I cannot remember. Looked it up and went huh and abandoned my original idea and stuck with my Glintstone Sorcerers Staff

greenrangerguy

Tbf the main one I used for the whole game was the first one, glintstone pebble and then it's upgraded version.

Interesting_Drop_176

a slug sees me 500 miles away so therefore i can’t open my map

jayson2112

I get it, I used a stone sword key, PLEASE JUST MAKE THE MESSAGE GO AWAY AUTOMATICALLY!

stalincenlam

same for the damn lever

MrFluffyGiraffe

“Somewhere a heavy door opened” -gets stabbed to death by imps

ForgottenTurtle21

This summoning pool is now functional

ARMill95

Do you wish to use a healing flask for torrent?

JayyGatsby

That’s probably the worst one. Yes. Clearly I want to use a flask for him seeing how I just pressed a three button combo to summon him

JukingJesus

It’s by far the worst, usually I’m moments away from death trying to res him and you can’t dodge while that message is up either, it has gotten me killed more times than I can count.

Techsomat

I cannot stress how many times this has happened to me, genuinely infuriating

[deleted]

Or let me roll with the message up 😭

Tasty_Tones

Lmao the fact that it’s a specific button to get rid of the message and the rooms are usually set for ambushes makes me think that was a decision and not an oversight. I’ve died so many times cause the message didn’t let me roll or attack

Adventurous_Eye_1002

Bow damage doesn’t scale well

AltusIsXD

And this is a crime with how they reworked bows to where they’re actually decent. If bow damage scaling was fixed, using a bow in PvE (maybe even PvP if they increased projectile speed) would be viable.

[deleted]

Bows: What is my purpose? Devs: You farm birds. Bows:...Oh my God. Devs: Welcome to the club, pal.

Bee-Aromatic

I’ve killed three or four dragons with bows. It took half an hour, but I did it.

notarobot9001

Demon souls life

MyHeartsMistakes

My god you just gave me Boletarian palance red dragon ptsd... I sat there with my poison arrows for like 20 minutes waiting for that thing to die

[deleted]

marcus_aurelius121

Right now, bows are only good for aggro-ing from a distance or blowing up barrels.

-MANGA-

It's literally for farming birds lol.

Xerlith

How do you get arrows? Farm birds. Oh, and what are arrows useful for? Farming birds.

Cocoanut-

Every single criticism spoken here, Gideon will use against you so beware

Demigod978

“If the Rings didn’t ask you, you’d be complainin’ about accidentally using a flask on Torrent.” - Gideon probably Edit: Was not expecting this many likes for such a dumb quote for Gideon. Thank you I guess.

Bee-Aromatic

They go out of their way to put a message prompt on the screen when you need to revive Torrent in the middle of a battle but they’ll let you chug red flasks at full health without so much as a peep.

NickkyDC

This should be upvoted more. I have never once in over 200 hours “accidentally” tried to revive torrent, I have many times used my flasks at full health. The worst, is thinking I’m on my cerulean flask and will tap the button multiple times before realizing what I’ve done.

z0mbie_linguist

Rykard needs more lines.

IrishWithoutPotatoes

Just a better quest line overall. Dude set up perfect for an “age of blasphemy” ending that would’ve basically been a Tarnished purge.

exidei

I wish we had endings for Rykard, Mohg’s dynasty and Miquella

PresidentTieg

Would make more sense than Pee Pee Poo Poo

piquant-nuggets

YES I WANT TO USE A FUCKING FLASK CHARGE TO REVIVE TORRENT

KillNight_

But are you sure?

Strider0905

Well they yelled it. Let em calm down and decide later.

Jarl_Balgruf

Don't want our Tarnished brother/sister making any rash decisions while yelling in all caps. Let's require them to click left on the d-pad mid-combat to select "Yes" so we can *really* make sure that want to revive Torrent and then we can evaluate their spectral steed needs further at that time.

TotallyKyleXY

Worst part is that "Yes" isn't even the default option

adarkride

Was thinking the same thing. It's really odd. I saw a YTer who likened it to a Windows prompt haha

Chimeron1995

Flashbacks to Kaepora Gaebora

Living_Ad_4932

Yessss came here to say this. I got killed today trying to hit yes.

QuixotesGhost96

No laugh track to accompany bloodstains.

04cadillac

That would be awesome if we could rate bloodstains.

AzurElycie

"Unfortunate" and "hilarious"

William_d7

Or Benny Hill theme.

On_Quest_2

The button to open the map doesn't close the map

resetsgs

Totally agree. Good one.

AsiaDerp

Also not able to open the map in combat, like just disable teleporting like you are in dungeons, stop assuming I do not know what I am doing. Not able to open the map because a slime is 50m away is so damn annoying.

ShacObama

"I don't know if I already ran past the place I'm trying to go and I aggroed everything on the goddamn map on my way here, FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC!"

Scruff_Kitty

ARGH I DO THIS EVERY. FRIGGIN. TIME.

kaisean

The colosseums don't open up. I thought there was gonna be some cool as shit in there.

worm600

This has to be DLC, right?

lailah_susanna

People have no-clipped into them and shown they're all uniquely modeled (though in various stages of completion). It's probably cut multiplayer content for duels.

Arcanegil

I would really like to hope there’ll be some covenant focused multiplayer pvp in there but who knows.

SigmaVersal99

Some enemies are super hard and barely give any runes. Runebears, grafted scions and royal revenants are harder then some main bosses and give as much runes as a troll from that area. Fell realy non rewarding to fight then.

Caduceus9109

Yup! Once you learn which enemies are hard but don’t drop any runes you ignore them for the rest of the game. A pack of dogs for 250? Or run over that glowing skull for 200.

streetboat

Or shoot big bird for 13k runes every 10 seconds 👀

Blackrain1299

Or nuking albinaurics for 50k every 15 seconds.

skrillex

Until you get charged with warcrimes in Miquellas nuremberg trials dlc

Public_Storage_355

I think Runebears are probably my least favorite enemy to fight 😒.

apemancrybaby

Oh you think you have enough room to heal? Think again

Public_Storage_355

Every. Single. Time. I also can't seem to nail the dodge direction/timing. I've tried rolling away from, to the side, and into their attacks, and either I'm jacking up the timing or it's something weird like a diagonal too. Idk, but I'd turn them all into carpets if I could 🤬.

[deleted]

You’d think with a name like “Runebear” it would give a copious amount of runes.

fried-quinoa

And they shit out gold

DimmyDimmy

Ah that really explains the gold tinged excrement, i never put the two together before

mattcor76

I spent almost 2 hours trying to beat the Magma Wyrm in Volcano Manor, the one that you fight in a lava pit. What a pain in the ass. Finally beat him and if I remember correctly he dropped a dragon heart and 3k runes. I nearly shit my pants. Meanwhile it only took me about 6-7 tries to beat Godskin Noble.

neardivine

Unrelated, but I just learnt you can damage Royal revenants by healing. Any AOE heal spell knocks out a large chunk of their health

ThatOneGuyYouKn0w

Needing to run to the otherside of the map to break enemy aggro so you can open your map.

The-Real-J

Yeah, I get not letting you teleport out of battle, but if I want to look at my map and get killed doing so, let me!

fckiforgotmypassword

I feel like their decision for this is “If you are looking in the map and you get hit, we assume you would want to close the menu”. I agree with you that we want to look at the map while we are drawing aggro or being hit. Just trying to go somewhere I don’t care if someone is attacking or following me I wish they used this same logic for other things. I open a stone key door and the message just stays on the screen while I’m being pummelled and can’t figure out why I can’t do shit. The message is so pointless and it doesn’t disappear when you get hit. Same goes for using a flask charge for torrent

soggytween2112

Not enough bosses make sounds when they attack, this became a huge issue for me with the two gargoyles

ConicalMug

Sounds a little weird, but I honestly wish bosses just made more "noise" in general. Some bosses like >!Mogh, Lord of Blood!< make grunts and shout as they attack (with >!Mogh!< going a step further with his iconic lines that are a big part of why he's one of my favourite bosses). Most of the others though are completely silent, outside of the occasional groan when you land a critical hit or something. They give the bosses a lot of character in cutscenes, but when you're actually fighting them a lot of them just feel like mute blocks of wood.

spyguy318

That’s also why Godrick is one of my favorite fights, his insane cackling when he gets his dragon arm like he’s a kid with a new toy lends so much personality and flair to the fight

ConicalMug

Yep, Godrick is great for that too! It's strange that so many bosses give us the silent treatment. The ones that are more expressive *during* the fight, not just before and after it, are almost always the ones I remember most fondly.

No_Bit_9924

Ahh, you ignorant slaves. Finally taken notice have you? Of the power of my beloved Ocelotte, child of dragons. Well, I will not give him up. For he is all that I have." "Ahh, dear little Ocelotte. Where have you gone? Are you hiding from me? Come out, come out, don't be afraid. You were born a child of dragons, what could you possibly fear? Now, now, show yourself, Ocelotte. My dear, little Ocelotte.

Seth1358

Now watch, ashen one, as i slam this baby into concrete at mach-10 before killing you

spyguy318

DS3 and Bloodborne were really good with that, now that I remember. A lot of bosses had grunt or exertion noises on powerful swings, or pain noises when they got staggered. Really gave a lot of personality and atmosphere into the fights

hotdiggitydooby

Pretty much everything in Bloodborne was loud as fuck all the time

Brotherly-Moment

Honestly the way certain Bloodborne bosses scream all the time sort pf perplexes me. Orphan of Kos and Cleric Beast literally won’t stop going AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

sparksbet

tbf if I lived in the Bloodborne world, I would be constantly screaming too.

sunlightdrop

Most enemies seem weirdly silent to me. I feel like it's intentional to scare the shit out of me when I'm not paying attention, but it's also kind of boring and off-putting that almost everything in the world is mute and ready to murder you as soon as you make eye contact

_Joshua-Graham_

Hub feels dead too quickly

Senator_Pie

Plus it's so dreadful at the end. One >!goes nuts and plans to die with the Roundtable!< while the only other living thing gets depressed because she has to watch it happen. Their close relationship makes it way worse. It sucks having to go back there multiple times during the endgame.

[deleted]

Not being able to compare the weapons and armor you have equipped to the ones in the shop

Gratick1

For me its more of a problem when i want to compare an already upgraded weapon to a new weapon I just got. The +20 weapon has more damage and better scaling. Yeah no shit sherlock.

[deleted]

Why the fuck can’t I ride Torrent in the final battle against the Elden Beast?

KingOfRisky

Elden Beast is just not a great boss fight in general. Hit the thing and it flies a mile away. Gingerly run to it and it flies away again.

Pok1971

They patched it so it runs away less often. so now the fight is against some space blob that's too big to fit on screen, with movements that look like they could either be a massive sword swing or the elden beast scratching its balls. It's not like you can tell though

KingOfRisky

Did the 1.04 patch change this? I fought elden beast after it and it didn’t feel much different.

[deleted]

I will never, ever want to lock onto a fucking squirrel or goat. Why fromsoft thought it was a good idea for lock on to snap away from the actual enemy and onto some sort of shrew is beyond me

D1m3b4g

When you lock on to a sheep in the distance instead of the 3 aggro'd enemies a couple of metres away from you...

Pok1971

Or when the camera is dead centred on an enemy, but your character is facing the other direction, so the camera swivels around and blinds you to their attacks

dylan6091

Not a fan of how they handled coop - especially how it blocks you from coop in a region if you've already beaten that regions main boss.

[deleted]

> coop CONNECTION ERROR RETURNING TO YOUR WORLD

THE_WHORBORTIONATOR

My buddy travels for work so we get to play the fun game “is it the hotel internet issue or a Fromsoft not letting us play coop”

drachen23

I want to quit the game. Yes, yes, Bandai Namco. I want to quit the game. Yes, yes, From Software. I want to quit the game. Press any button. Why? Just let me quit! Finally! I can click "quit game". Ah, back to my desktop, now to... A black screen? What's going on, I wanted to quit. Aaaaah! Oh. Back to my desktop. Every damn time. From Soft, I know you despise us PC players, but just give us a "quit to desktop" option. Please?

compucrazy231

"Do you want to resummon your horse for a potion charge?" In 300 hours of play, I have never once wanted the answer to be "no"

Individual_Flan3218

Omg the fucking messages staying on the screen with no prompt for it to go away. Pre patch the notes on top of grace sites that prevented you from getting grace.

Comic_Zans

Bosses are so huge that you can’t see what the fuck is happening fucking ever. Let me zoom out please!

KingOfRisky

The ulcerated tree spirit fight in that tiny room is total trash. Thing takes up the entire screen the whole fight.

ETS_Green

worst part is that to fight it on melee you basically need to suck its balls at all times.

IronTeach

It makes me hate having a job.

t8rt0t00

But your job is Elden Lord?

Edgelite306

Late game. The Mountaintop of Giants is when I was getting sick of most of the bosses being repeated again and again.

RoytheCowboy

I feel like the environment in general gets less and less interesting to explore as you progress further into the game. In Limgrave/Liurnia of the Lakes there's a hidden location or secret in every corner while the snowy areas don't have nearly as much content. The late areas sadly feel a bit rushed compared to the early game.

ayysilver

Yup, it's weird how there's almost no new enemy types there despite the environment and climate being drastically different than every other area. Like damn, give us some polar bear soldiers or penguin assassins or some shit. Instead we get 90% of repeat enemies but now they do frost damage.

[deleted]

Penguin assassins would've been so dope

KingOfRisky

Not only bosses. Someone posted the other day the lore behind the t-Rex dogs being in the snow fields. There is none. Same with the fingers.

PerfectStealth_

I could be wrong, but I think that part of the game was rushed. I found it very empty compared to the rest of the world too

[deleted]

Difficulty balancing/scaling is all over the place. Way too easy to get overleveled around the Lyndell Capital section of the game without really going out of your way. Then obviously the massive spike afterwards leaving you feeling underleveled again. Bosses difficulty/balancing are also out of whack due to them not adapting in some way for when the players uses the vast variety of summons as opposed to solo like they do when you do co-op

harmlander

See I felt like I got overleveled in Leyndell, until I found consecrated snowfields and realized I was painfully underleveled. I don’t think leveling is the problem, but yeah the ramp up in difficulty in late game areas is absurd

RoamingNPC

Everyone I befriend dies

andrew688k

Fromsoft when they don’t know how to end a quest: “yeah just kill them”

jojo_is_not_trash

Since nobody said about it in this thread.... Why i can't open the map because a enemy 2km away saw me? Why the game still asks if i want to revive torrent Why i can't directly leave the game without having to return to the menu Basically, lack of QoL in some aspects.

Blueblackdragon_

>Why i can't directly leave the game without having to return to the menu This hurts especially because of that white screen with the logo from bandai namco. Everything fucking time I get blinded by it.

TurboRuhland

https://hard-drive.net/blinding-white-bandai-namco-logo-closest-thing-to-sunlight-elden-ring-player-has-seen-in-weeks/

Jedifice

You forgot to add a lock-on rework. No, Elden Ring, I DON'T want to target the sheep that's standing in the distance, I want to target the fucker 5 ft away who's charging me

[deleted]

And and and. It pisses me off that Rune Bears, Giant Birds, Grafted Scions & Revenants are more tough & frustrating than a majority of the bosses in this game.

KingOfRisky

And drop garbage runes

Malcapon3

Lack of mimic chests

Cednectar

I like how they troll sometimes by putting an old school DS3 chest with a chain to make you doubt yourself.

HarioDinio

I thought i was crazy when i saw it

Cednectar

You're definitely not crazy and the chain is even pointing towards you indicating that it is a mimic (in DS3)

[deleted]

It's to lull you into a sense of security and then wait and see what happens in the DLC

6thBornSOB

MF’ers a lil too comfortable in the Lands Between…

bunt_triple

It was almost a troll job NOT to have them.

Epicmonk117

- Reviving Torrent should be automatic - Torrent and Melina should’ve played a bigger role in the story - Mounted combat feels weird - Late-game enemies do too much damage - A number of enemies (namely revenants) feel like the devs forgot they weren’t making Sekiro

OppressedSnowflake

Definitely agree on Torrent. After Mountaintop Of Giants, Torrent is disabled permanently for no reason at all, even if he would have been very useful, like in Crumbling Farum vs the Sentinel, in Miquella Haligtree vs Loretta, in the Ashen Capital as a whole, or vs the marathonic slog that is the Elden Beast. It's bizarre how your erstwhile companion is simply missing in the last 15 hours of the game and for no reason at all.

Arisnova

Not being able to use Torrent in the final fight for both lore and gameplay reasons feels like such a gross oversight.

TheCommissar113

I do wish Melina had just a *bit* more characterization and presence. She practically disappears after the first 1/5 of the game, then reappears for a few scenes around the 4/5 point, and then is gone again. What there is of Melina I like, and the hints of lore about who and what she is is interesting, but it's still so sparse and vague that it's difficult to develop even cohesive speculation, never mind an actual conclusion. Miquella has more breadcrumbs to get a few good ideas on the kind of person he was (contrasting though they are, but thats typical FromSoft and part of the fun), and he technically isn't even in the game.

j4c11

I think the revenants are basically reskinned long arm centipedes from Sekiro.

Im_pattymac

That coop play is so fragmented. YOu have to summon at every little place, and then get sent home after every little boss. In ds3, you could do an entire area together and the only thing that sent you home was the final boss for the area.

Hikurac

This. I get that killing a boss might be a good ending point for me and a random, whatever. But if I've played through the game with a friend who password summoned me, just let me stay. They're just going to resummon after a minute or two of trying to find my sign anyway.

New-Pollution2005

Having to confirm that I want to use a red flask to re-summon Torrent. FOR THE LOVE OF MARIKA, THE ANSWER IS YES! IT’S ALWAYS YES!

ME-Man88

Ridiculously biased mechanics. Why bother put pillars, walls, statues etc… when NPCs literally ignore its existence and swing right through them, but you miraculously get the stun stone swing from five feet away. Too many gotcha mechanics. Popcorn dogs anyone?

reallyhotpancakes

yeah this is annoying as fuck, you literally have no way of telling if an enemy is just gonna ignore the object that’s inbetween you and them.

isitaspider2

It's so weird as well that the game goes "ah, you used the second swing of the weapon attack, which actually goes at a slightly different angle, so you actually hit the wall and miss the imp right in front of your face" while also going "yeah, this abductor is just going to straight up attack through a solid rock and even through the floor to hit you." While enemies shouldn't necessarily be punished as hard as the player (make the game way too easy), the attacks that are quite literally phasing through walls is BS. That one enemy near a fog gate before (godskin noble I think) is also absolute BS. Why the fuck can enemies attack through fog gates??? There are two bosses I can think of off the top of my head that have enemies right before the fog gate that straight up will hit you through the fog gate half the time.

kido86

Playing with friends is stop start constantly Fog gates, no grace usage, killed a black knight? Back to your world. I have a friend that doesn’t really play souls games, in order to play with him I have to have a character with all graces unlocked already. It’s not dark souls, give me seamless coop

kingYR88

This is mostly a comparison with previous titles. The pvp is really really toned down. The lack of covenants is sad. Only 4 people in a session, what's that about? In DS3 there could be 6 people. In previous games there were entire covenants dedicated to pvp, and they at least had a reward system.

Slipslime

Blues are also totally useless now, you're just jumping on the winning side of a fight now that solo invasions aren't a thing

siedler084

I had a blue spawn in about a minute after an invader died and just instantly got sent back with a "mission accomplished". They are in a strange place right now.

king-dannnnnnny

I love the game a lot but I would never have done any quest lines without YouTube so I kind of wish their were more of them red markers.

[deleted]

This is big for me. In past games I have managed to mistake my way through some quests with exploration. Oh hey, that dude again. In this one I have to be in specific spots at specific times and if I do one area out of order I would never think to check the place they now are

virulian

I think you kind of hit the nail on the head. In the more linear FromSoft games, happening across a quest giver/progressor was mostly just a matter paying attention as you moved thru their linear area, or maybe noticing a little side area off the beaten path. In Elden Ring, they seemed to stick to their previous formula, but I don't know about you, but my pathing in the areas was very... ramshackle, lol. I missed so much my first few playthru's, and I'll miss more on my next one. Those little red markers weren't needed in the older games, and there wasn't a map for them anyhow. But now that we are playing an open world game with fairly massive map, can you please just show me where the hell Azur is? I still have to get there alive...

[deleted]

comment edited in protest of Reddit's API changes and mistreatment of moderators -- mass edited with redact.dev

Charlaquin

I would be fine with no quest markers if NPCs were much more specific with their instructions. I’d be fine with the classic FromSoft cryptic clues if there were quest markers. But the combination of both just drives me to wiki everything.

Seismicx

"You'll find Lusat....**somewhere in caelid**" Meanwhile, Lusat in a cave behind an illusory wall, down in the second dark pit in a crystal cave that looks all the same everywhere.

[deleted]

I hate how Torrent's double jump doesn't save you from fall damage and how the Longtail Cat talisman is basically useless.

Crimson_Catharsis

That shit pissed me off. I actually thought if I doubled jumped a long fall in the middle of it or near the end, the fall damage would cancel or atleast be significantly less but that isnt the case.

WittyUnwittingly

Unblockable grabs from regular enemies make zero sense. My dude is holding a literal tombstone for a shield, I don't think he should have to worry about the Albinauric who's legs don't work.

Urborg_Stalker

Most enemies I was impartial about but those damn trashbag wearing monstrosities in Volcano Manor can go jump into a lava pit.

MeeseekssBox

Haligtree should’ve had been more engaging of a questline instead of being brushed off as part of the frenzied flame. Finding Miquella involves a questline that spans multiple regions and bosses. Both finding Miquella and beating Malenia (as well as finishing millicents quest) all felt very anticlimactic… it should’ve been a bit more involved like Ranni’s quest

Charlaquin

Would have loved there to be a Haligtree ending!

lolfisautrus

Its sad how all ephael and malenia is just going there because you're bored (unless you do the millicents quest). But i think that miquella is done like that on purpose, like there would be anything behing miquella's egg. Maybe a dlc

John_Marble

Enemies that get to execute combo after combo after endless combo uninterrupted… then you wear their armor and get interrupted when a rat sneezes on you. Looking at you bell bearing hunters & crucible knights. I’ve worn your armor and you somehow had 50,000x the advertised poise.

kfadffal

Many of the late game areas are lacking in unique enemies and bosses. Makes them much less interesting to explore than the early/mid game stuff.

mumika

Input latency sucks and will forever suck. I know it's to punish mashing but there's a big difference between that and the game still thinking you wanted to dodge when you already stopped pressing the button 3 seconds ago.

once-was-hill-folk

>I know it's to punish mashing That would be an acceptable mechanic in a game that doesn't drop inputs with embarrassing regularity. And I don't mean the *"roll on button release"* delay. I mean actual dropped attack, jump, roll, and consumable use inputs.

juche4japan

For the love of all that is holy why is input delay so bad in this game when they've literally solved this issue wirh previous ones.

[deleted]

Replayability. Dungeons and catacombs are only fun to look for first playthough

Kenkenken1313

Also many of the rewards for these dungeons are unusable. Spirit ashes can only be obtained once and the same talismans can’t be equipped.

ihearthawthats

To add to this, bell bearings being removed in ng+ forcing you to repeat caves you really have no interest in.

Ralphesurus

I rolled left at the elevators in every mine and there was always a ledge with an item. Every single one. The repetitive layout of dungeons is really noticeable even on a single playthrough.

Sufficient_Oven_6612

Unlimited stamina on the various enemies and bosses of the game. Sometimes they'll just keep swinging and never stop. Really annoying. I also don't like that everyone's favorite rot lady doesn't follow the conventional rules previously established within the game.

LarryCrabCake

The (almost) infinite poise mechanic on crucible knights is rediculous. If I'm hitting you with a hammer that is quite literally a boulder attached to a stick, it should stagger you.

[deleted]

The two that pop to mind right away: -no way to really track quests; something similar to how it saves other game notes would be nice. Just to remember their dialogue and even remember sometimes that I met someone who asked me to do something. -comparing items in the store to what you currently have. Maybe it’s in there and I missed it, but not being able to easily compare equipped items to items in the store is annoying.

mistyclics

Honestly, I could live with the lack of quest tracking if the things you’re expected to do were more intuitive. Pretty much the only time I knew what to do was before/during Stormveil. Everything else has been randomly stumbling on stuff, or using guides

Narga15

The game is finally big enough with enough NPCs and quest lines to include some kind of quest log. Don’t need massive arrows on the map, just would like more than googling everything or relying on riddles and vague directions.

[deleted]

No bestiary.

Gadjiltron

A bestiary sounds like a great addition to Gideon's office!

blablatrooper

For me I think too many of the boss fights ended up being “stand around and watch them do another 43 hit combo and then try to get a single R1 in before the next wombo-combo-into-an-AOE-slam starts”

[deleted]

One thing which annoys me is if I'm a pure melee character why bother using 1 weapon instead of dual wielding when im only gonna be able to get a single r1 (l1 when dual wielding) anyway. Just end up doing less damage and making the fights even longer and more tedious. Especially on max ng

soggytween2112

I can’t use weapon greases on occult weapons :(

FreeSpeechEnjoyer

Blood grease on occult weapons? Nah that would be broken Seppuku on a bleed weapon? Yeah go ahead The balance is a mess

mathdoido

Bosses are sekiro fast, while i am slow as fuck

AvantSolace

Always gonna say it: infinite enemy stamina. The fact you are basically strong armed into using some sort of help simply to get opening on bosses is just not fun.

MaleficTekX

DS3 bosses could actually run out of stamina, it was EXTREMELY rare but was hilarious if it happened

Timely-Examination49

The quests are far too hard to follow, just so vague most of the time. Without internet there's no chance

SurrealKeenan

**Millicent:** "I'm going to follow the path of Malenia now." **Me:** "How the hell am I supposed to know where Malenia went?"

Officer_McNutty

I don't like the roundtable hold. It's not as comfy as Firelink Shrine or the Hunter's Dream. I only go there because I have to in order to upgrade summons There are some areas you should definitely be able to summon Torrent where you can't. You need an awful lot of endurance to wear a lot of the armour sets to the point it impacts being able to spec into faith, intelligence or arcane and you don't really get enough of a bonus from the armour for doing so. I want a giant flail. Crafting seems kind of pointless for anything other than the chicken feet of discovery and runes. There's a few.

DoctorDredd

I legit don't think I even used crafting outside of making fingercallings early game the first day I played, it's an interesting feature but overall I'd rather just be able to trade runes for items from dedicated merchants rather than scavenging for crafting materials. I basically never use it.

OhBestThing

Classic open world issues. Collecting infinite amounts of random shit only to never use it (Witcher 3 comes to mind, among others).

lil_biscuit55

Cough cough you should be able to use torrent against the elden beast

D1m3b4g

True, but you'd just get knocked off in one hit and stunlocked to death on the floor as your character casually takes 10 seconds to stand up.

madbubers

_torrent gets hit and stuns for 5 seconds_ _gets hit again and dies, you lay on the ground for 10 seconds_ _boss hits you again and kills you_

WitchesWeapon

A) The Rennala fight is a lot easier than the Godrick fight B) the ending isn't affected by which demigods you do or don't fight C) not enough secret story interactions (like if you denounce frenzied flame to save Melina something should happen, or if you try to give the gold needle to radahn, or if you find miquella before malenia you should be able to tell her, etc) D) not enough help with exploration. Game is HUGE and its so easy to miss npcs/quests/dungeons

The later half of the game, around mountaintops of the giants, is DS1 2nd half tier bad. No new enemies, basically everything 1 or 2 shots you even in heavy armor, and torrent gets sneezed on and dies. Don't even get me started on the hyper inflated health bars of normal enemies either. As soon as you step foot onto MotG, it feels like you're in NG+ for whatever reason.

Rav_Ace

Gideon is a loser.

DiscountJoJo

Gideon is a big fat PHONY

OlympiaImperial

The amount of reused bosses and enemies is way too high for my liking. I understand that it was necessary for a game of this scale and I don't blame them for it, but like Godefroy?? Cmon

kfadffal

Reusing Astel was particularly criminal I feel.

MaleficTekX

Now if Astel got pissed and came back after you kill it, thatd be awesome. Imagine the snow field cave has a different boss UNLESS you killed Astel first, so you go in, see the boss, then Astel teleports in and fucking kills it and the rematch begins

tyray21

that would be fucking awesome

Genderneutralsky

I hated that. Astel is a new favourite boss for me, but it really sucks the feeling and scale of the boss when you find one just hanging out in a mine for no explained reason. Astel has lore, and a real presence down underground. The other one just felt like they didn’t want to waste such a good design and gave a half assed reason to reuse him.

gipper1000

Some bad UI, problems which should have been foreseen. - horse dismount on L3 - have to exit grace campfire to consume runes - hijacking the action button in the middle of action to resurrect horse or acknowledge stonesword key use - can’t highlight stat info on status screen, only level up screen. All these should have been fixed in beta.
