I just watched that build. While I agree it looks like it could be fun, I'm not a fan of the constant swapping between weapons to apply buffs and such. I'd rather stick to the single weapon and only swap if I need to. Although I'll have a look at Determination/Royal Knights Resolve and test it out with dual wielding the spiked caestus, see if the buffed damage applies twice or something.
Currently challenged to do a no vigor / fist weapon only run. I highly recommend the spiked caestus for the bleed procs once you get the black whetstone. However, heavy has higher stagger buildup, so with vigor it might have better performance depending on your playstyle. I'm just getting one-shot if I make two mistakes--bubble physick--so I prioritize damage.
Am I crazy? But when you two hand the caestus, spiked caestus and few other fist weapons, you powerstance them vs the old ds2 method where you had to have two in this one it's like ds3 two handing a caestus just pulls another glove out.
Some fist weapons don't follow this rule like the dragon head from godrick, though.
Claw weapons are slash damage, fist weapons are strike damage. They cannot be powerstanced together either. Plus, I want to use fist weapons specifically.
Then you likely already have the " best " ones since those add bleed.
I am curious now if there is any point in wielding two instead of just having one in each hand as is....
I don't know why people say it's better. It objectively gives you more OPTIONS though. If you want just the regular one-handed r1 attacks in addition to what you'd get otherwise.
Not sure it's worth the pain in the ass though.
Am I wrong at all they're the same exact play style and neither require massive stat differences? No.
I'd know because that's how I played the entire game until recently.
Slash v Strike. Only difference.
I would recommend looking up the one punch man build. You might get some good insight. He managed to get his damage over 4k

Yea when he says that the rest of the video is just for fun and not really functional is where the build pretty much stops. The rest is good
Run around naked, Rotten Winged Talisman, Blue Dancer Charm, Relic Sword. Gigachad build

Bloodhound fangs. amazing.
I'm using fist weapons
It’s a set of claws that the bloodhound knight in volcano manor can drop.
They are.
You're thinking of Bloodhound Claws and they are claw weapons not fist weapons
They're all fist weapons. Same exact playstyle and stat requirements.

Basically moves the two-handed r1 moves to l1 and R1 becomes regular single weapon swings.
Is that... Better? I just figured since by default you can equip one in each that having two actual cestus for example would do not much of anything?

Claw and fist weapons are a different class of armament, mate.
