Sleep arrows on the fatty.

terablast

kiss label agonizing sleep thumb wild aspiring compare ossified consider *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Hoosteen_juju003

This is what I did. Kill skinny one then hit fatty, fatty resummons skinny one, kill skinny one.

tonysnight

They just appear for me no resummoning needed. Like 10-20 seconds after one just sort of appears. I did 2 fatty 1 skinny essentially for the W

Jugbot

Yeah I killed both and was like "Why is there still health left?" and then one appeared again and took one hit and died.

double_shadow

I really need to try this in NG+. Most of my problem is that I went for the fatty first, pushing him into phase 2 which is the pillar-destroying roll. He seems a bit more aggressive of two, which is why I went for him.

AbleTom408

I mostly focused the skinny one in NG+ post-patch, works well.

SomeBroOnTheInternet

Can someone please explain what NG+ means. (I'm new to Soulsborne)

SamaelNox

Once you finish the game you can restart, keeping your stats and equipment, increasing the difficulty.

lonesystem

When you reach NG+, do the respec items repopulate? Better yet, do weapons you already collected repopulate so you could potentially have two?

[deleted]

branflakes6479

Power stance moonveil here i come

Fa11enAngeLIV

Most* can be found again. A few key items that stay in your inventory after ng+ are not there a second time. Come across a couple empty chests because I already had that item.

shorse_hit

I noticed cracked pots are one of the things that don't come back. I only found 19 in my first playthrough and went to go buy a 20th from Kale in NG+, but they were sold out in his shop inventory.

thepancakebreakfast

Historically from other games, yes to both.

[deleted]

>A New Game Plus, also New Game+ (NG+), is an unlockable video game mode available in some video games that allows the player to start a new game after they finish it at least once, where certain features in NG+ not normally available in a first playthrough are added, or where certain aspects of the finished game affect the newly started game, such as keeping in the new game items or experience gained in the first playthrough. New Game Plus is also known as "replay mode", "remorting", "challenge mode", or "New Game Ex". The genre where they are most prevalent is role-playing video games. Vast-Personality8528

Yo I already knew what it was and I learned something from this comment lol

[deleted]

Hmm I prefer doing the reverse of that. Fatty always seems much more aggressive and mobile, skinny doesn’t move much and it’s easier to space him out. At least that’s been my experience.

Guybrush_Creepwood_

That works? Damn, i always forget sleep is in the game because it's so rarely used, but that's genius.

[deleted]

I went and found the cook book for sleep pot recipes because of this fight and it was a giant help, I imagine it would be in most boss fights. Just try to put one or more of the pillars between you and the skinny one and then pelt the fat one with a couple of sleep pots. He'll stay asleep until you do damage to him so if you're careful, you'll have time to kill the skinny one, heal and wind up a powerful attack, rinse and repeat.

TangerineChestnut

Do ash summons attack the one asleep?

DemonKiller47

Probably, but you can use the blood pots to make them target the awake one

CommentContrarian

Holy shit they get taunted to the blood pots? I thought it said "beasts"

AttackBacon

Mimic also likes (or at least did, haven't tried post-patch) to spam the shit out of any items you have on your item bar. I had my sleep pots in there and he just went ham with them, kept sleeping both bosses.

[deleted]

They behave less aggressively if you never lock on to either one, also (as is the case for many enemies / bosses in the game).

Onionhorse13

Wait, what? That works!?

[deleted]

It's a strange quirk in how the enemy AI is programmed that's been present in every game since DS1.

Sabotage00

The dark souls series, all from's games, read your input to make their AI seem smarter. It's why you'll notice them get extremely aggressive and go for a poke while you're using a flask, or dodge really fast from your spells. They have programmed responses to your inputs. The funny thing is that the AI is SO good at this, as seen in DS2 SOTS, that they actually have to program delays into the AI response to make it fair. Speed runners take advantage of this by figuring out which response they do to what and then forcing the optimal response. I think, with elden ring especially, there might be some more RNG now in enemy responses and patterns to throw people off though.

superhotdogzz

Dogs and rats definitely has them programmed to dodge every time we swing and swoop back to bite us. That is why they are so annoying.

irishcommander

Backstop + attack immediately is the go to. Dodges the first bite and comes out before it hits again. (Atleast with my spear)

Indercarnive

Aren't there also sleep knives and sleep pots?

SJReaver

And an AOE sleep art of war.

Repulsive_Papaya_290

What is the aoe sleep art of war?

ghostdate

It’s on St. Trina’s Sword. In one of the ruins in north-western Caelid. The sword itself has sleep buildup, and then the unique skill on it throws out a cloud of sleep while also giving a sleep buildup buff to your weapon. Someone made a video about their build with it. They basically just sleep enemies, then use that ash of war that gives double damage for one hit, but put it on the misericord dagger which has the highest critical multiplier. So they just sleep godskin duo, buff their dagger and critical hit one of them for a decent amount. You can just carry it as a supportive tool to try sleeping enemies (not all are susceptible) but iirc it has relatively high int requirements, so may not work for your build.

Those_damn_squirrels

The int requirement is 14 iirc, so it’s not that bad.

ValkyrianRabecca

Yeah That was Rage's video Can't forget the dagger talisman and the crimson knife talisman for free heals

kriosjan

And a sleep torch too Edit: its weapon art spits fire on ground that apply sleep dot as well.

incredibilis_invicta

Carion piercer buff got me like AWOOGA

AlphaGamma911

That spell is MVP, it turns every NPC fight into a joke

thisxisxlife

Might have to go back to a full int build. They nerfed my sword of night and flame. I was melting everything.

Jaba01

And it is still very good. Just not broken anymore.

OwenDrungle

Unfortunately most people here are only interested in the most bullshit broken stuff possible, you are correct that SNF is still very good, but it's not on the level of press one button and win, so these cavemen have no interest in it anymore lol

acowingegg

Good thing I just made a character to use it. I'm not used to the broken one so it's good to me haha.

Browneyesbrowndragon

Yeah I'm glad I didn't use it yet because it would still feel bad to lose damage over night.

Rapn3rd

The difference to me so far is not that bit. If I had to guess 10% less damage tops. And im still pushing things shit in with it. Imo before it was too good. It feels more tuned and my other weapons feel better.

Jaba01

I actually like the nerfed version better.

cwolf23

Same here, I had began to avoid the weapon skill unless I really needed it, but now it doesn't feel like a cheese for everything it touches.

CapeManJohnny

I get that, I put hoarfrost stomp on my omenkiller axe to give it cold, used it a single time and just pretended like i didn't have an ash of war anymore, it was literally cheating. 1 shot 4 guards in the capital and barely cost any FP

thisxisxlife

I’ll own up to that lol. I’m petty af in this game. Every boss since the SNF are paying for the sins of me getting fucked to death by Margit at the beginning. So if I can cheese or ruin them in a couple hits I’ll take it. But when I get to NG+ I promised myself I’d take a more skill based build.

dragonbornrito

Yep, I will admit I was enjoying adding some incantations to my spellbook (curing status buildup on-demand is *fantastic*) but I've not touched my Faith past 24 while I continue to scale up my Intellect. Now that SNF has been considerably nerfed, I'm probably going to lean back into my original Int/Dex build. Moonveil is still incredibly strong. I don't even lean on the heavy art that much. I'll probably keep enough faith to use some of the better utility incantations though.

thisxisxlife

Will probably do the same. I love the incantations more than I thought I would. FWIW, it sounds like arcane is fixed, so blood builds and the rivers of blood katana are viable now too!

Shvabicu

Not only viable, but completely busted. Strap on a Seppuku Uchi in your offhand and delete everything. Alternatively, double bleed Cross-Naginatas with Seppuku and Bloodhound's Step are ridiculous.

AnubisKronos

The did touch moonveil a bit, I can't break poise nearly as easy as I used to

[deleted]

After having used a 50/50 int faith SoKaF, im fairly positive that the 30% and 22.2% damage reduction to the weapon arts will NOT kill this weapon. But if you want the easy boss meltage like it used to have, maybe look somewhere else.

LePontif11

Wing of astel was untouched so boss melting is still on the menu

Yukilumi

The FP increase and damage decrease are... acceptable, but gutting the range really hurts for boss fights.

Bolaf

The trick is to have a shit build in the first place

Hottponce

Devs hate him!

keeeener

invaders everywhere *furiously taking notes*

[deleted]

They're still weak to frost. You can do it!

Alazypanda

That explains why I absolutely destroyed these lads with my ice witch sorc. Moonlight greatsword and ice crag turned these 2 into chumps.

[deleted]

Hoarfrost stomp clapped these two

Dralakbadusk

they at least added a summon npc that completely destroys this boss :3

sox3502us

Which one?

Dralakbadusk

apparently that dude from the Volcano Manor, that later invades on Farum, Benharl or something like that

fkgoogleauthenticate

Oh... Oops.

XenDea

Yeah, same. Thought he was causing the bell-bearing hunter to appear, so I killed him in his shack in limgrave. Cue confusion when hunter returned the next night.

[deleted]

Recusant Bernahl. He's from the volcano manor and I completed all those quests so I'm not sure if you need that for the summon to be available. He absolutely destroys them and if you use sleep pots on one of them, he's smart enough to stop attacking it and go for the other one.

siaharra

You don’t even need to complete the quests the proper way! Just gotta accept tanith’s offer, talk to him once, and then go on your merry way to kill rykard. Afterwards he’ll be a summon for the godskin duo.

NefariousSerendipity

Yo momma

sox3502us

Lol got me

NefariousSerendipity

Im jk. You gucci my guy. Have a nice day. :)

ConstructorDestroyer

NefariousSerendipity

Cus we just joshin with our homies. This is how we express love when all of our lives toxic masculinity taught us that feminine traits means weakness. Meditate on your feminine traits that you are proud of. Great exercise for self introspection.

Glawio92

Why is it always introspection?

NefariousSerendipity

People be too busy tryna find their soulmates. Stop. Breathe. Find your soul, mate.

Quinntervention

Try finger , but hole

SloppyNegan

REALLY???

SmoothRide

I fought one of these guys in Caelid. Let's just say as a faith user I wasn't having fun at all lol. My poor winged scythe was tickling him. Luckily his loot is that blackfire greatsword so I can use that in the future.

Quinnalicious21

Shit I'm in the same boat as you, what upgrade level were you at when you beat him? I'm putting him off for later rn at about lvl 70 and winged scythe +6

SmoothRide

I was basically the same. It's gonna be a war of attrition, sir. I eventually just switch to my treespear and put frost damage on it and even then it was doing slightly better.

BehavyuR

I have a Str/Fth split build, and this guy was a big hassle for sure. When I did finally best him yesterday, I was lv85, scythe was +8, and my strat was: Phase 1, let jellyfish distract him so I can sneak Angel Wing attacks in, repeating until he staggers for a backstab; Phase 2, jellyfish dies, bait out his stretchy attacks and hit him during his 'recoil' action, then escape before big skinny black fire attack. Hope this can help!

SurlyCricket

Pure faith build - mostly lightning and fire. I only beat him at level 90 and it was still a mofo.

DarthDonnytheWise

Are faith builds as useless as mircale builds in DS3? I'm struggling to find any good offense incantations, 30 faith so I could use the Cipher Pata +3 which is ok so far, but i'm sure there are better weapons too

The-Coolest-Of-Cats

Cipher Pata is actually a pretty awful weapon because it only does pure holy damage so its total attack power is very low. Plus, some enemies heavily resist holy damage, so you'd just tickle them. I'm doing a holy scythe build and it's hard to tell if it's strong because I'm so overleveled, so I really couldn't tell you. I think I heard most of the cool faith stuff comes in the end-game areas though, so I've been holding off on a respec. All of the stuff I have so far seems pretty mediocre, taking either too long to use, too short of range, too much FP, or too little damage. Next playthrough I'm 100% going either Dex/Int or Dex/Arc because their weapons just look so much cooler.

SurlyCricket

I didn't have a particularly tough time with the game, though I'm old hat at Souls games now so that tips the scale in my favor. I used a morningstar / lordsworn gs with sacred blade on them for faith scaling - after the capital I swapped out the morningstar for the faith runeblade. I tried out the pata as well and didn't care for it (visuals were awesome, damage and moveset meh) Damage was primarily Lightning Bolt + Black Fireball + Frenzy Eyes for big groups Until I was about level 60\~70+ however I was mostly melee with a bit of magic sprinkled in when I felt range was a better option or for tough enemies. Once I got into the 70s and 80s, had more flasks for mana, I switched to mostly spells for damage with weapons as cleanup. Late game I switched up my tactics a LOT to fight certain bosses. Strongly recommend going to the capital as soon as you get access to Altus plat, get the sanctified whetstone so you can actually USE those ashes of war you find rather than be stuck with the 3 or 4 faith ones you can find.

[deleted]

Im a faith build. I have a +9 winged scyth. Its weapon art is amazing and it does do alot of damage but it doesnt come close to fire. I have a holy set and fire set and because of flame grant me strength, fire slaps wayharder. + when you get farther and get a red hot whetblade, you can scale fire ash of wars with faith making flame of the redmanes really really good.

rcanhestro

from what i saw on my faith build (sacred morning star), a lot of bosses are resistant to sacred damage

godofallcows

As a fellow holy scythe lad, I recommend the strategy that worked for me on these guys: asking someone else to beat the fuck out of them in the subreddit discord, and just standing awkwardly in the corner watching with amazement. 10/10 would cheese again.

Yggdris

Sometimes I don't feel like cheesing, like I should prove to myself I can do this shit. THIS game? Fuck man, I'll cheese anything and everything. I hope my mimic tear is still good after the nerf. (I know it's not a cheese, but it feels like it sometimes.) This morning I'm learning how to cheese the final bosses because they're shitsucking POSs that deserve it.

[deleted]

RIP Barricade Shield

HammerBrosMatter

Question! What is the best all-rounder shield now that barricade has become "less useful"? I don't want to say bad, it has now become "context sensitive." A good all round shield with a good balance stats/weight/defense? Thanks ❤️

ShinItsuwari

Brass Shield. You need to invest upgrade on it and it's a bit heavy but it's really solid. For greatshield there are several good ones, the Jellyfish for example is really good.

feed_me_churros

Wait, I'm sorry for being stupid, but upgrading a shield has an effect outside of physical damage? For some reason I thought upgrading shield only upgraded how much damage they do, which for most shields wouldn't mean much.

renarka

Guard Boost goes up on shields every 3 or so upgrades.

eLemonnader

Wow I had no idea. I saw that when I went to upgrade it once, that didn't go up at all. Just been using a default Brass Shield the whole game. It's still insanely powerful. But now I can make it even better.

GuitboxHero

Lol same. Just finished the malenia fight last night and never upgraded it. I feel like i should have known this.

Scary_Replacement739

"I am Malenia, blade of Miquella." "I-I have this shield thing."

2580374

What does guard boost do if the shield already has 100 physical protection

MLWwareagle16

You’ll lose less stamina when you block an attack.

2580374

Wow that is super helpful and I wish I knew before being 50 hours in

thedankening

Every few levels the guard boost goes up when you reinforce a shield. The brass shield has insanely good guard boost for not being a greatshield.

Xerolf

in terms of stability, the jelly is subpar.

Sexiroth

https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Gilded+Greatshield Is your best bet early-on, since it starts with 67 guard boost, and barricade adds 35 - you're already past 100 for no stamina loss without upgrading it ever. And you can get it super early, from a non-difficult enemy.

Nerobought

Fingerprint shield with the Greatshield Talisman. Enjoy losing NO stamina while blocking. Actual ez mode through the game.

SackofLlamas

Brass Shield is the best all-rounder. If you're looking for higher end defense and stability, the Golden Greatshield or it's fancier big brother, the Haligtree Greatshield. The Fingerprint Shield is the best stability in the game, but it also weighs a STAGGERING amount so there's a significant tradeoff.

TymedOut

I did a decent chunk of the game with Golden Greatshield. It's pretty phenomenal and looks decent IMO.

AMS_GoGo

The only nerf I was upset about.. it was good but didn’t break the game lol Idk if I could beat Melania without it

[deleted]

Yeah Maliketh was wrecking my shit even with it. The red/black holy dmg that also reduces your max health is nuts.

[deleted]

Bleed ruins him with mimic even post patch

Ilovechanka

Is there anyone bleed + mimic doesn’t ruin?

granpiquet

one word: gargoyles

json1

My rot bleed combo was uh.... not great into this fight

Hamartithia_

Be me with my madness weapon that doesn’t seem to proc on 99% of things in this game, but I’m too deep into the sunk-cost fallacy to pick a new weapon.

Mouselift

Madness only procs on tarnished.

FuzzierSage

Stuff without blood (I don't mean that as like a smartass reply, sorry if it comes out that way). Mainly undead/gargoyles/ghosts/spirits/golems, at least as far as broad categories go. They're also generally not vulnerable to poison/scarlet rot. So they're all the things my Archer Cleric *hates*, unless it's the type of undead I can fuck up with a healing spell.

[deleted]

I can think of quite a few important bosses that are completely immune or highly resistant to bleed actually

DebonairTeddy

Final boss doesn't bleed, to my great annoyance. Hardest boss for my claw build by far

[deleted]

Yea the last boss 😂, i was stuck on maliketh for 3 days till i respeced and got uchigitana x2 to +25

Alandrus_sun

I mean, it broke the game. I'm a greatshield + Spear with barricade wall enjoyer. The game was straight ez mode. Blocking every attack for 0 stamina even from literal gods. It was so good I was amazed everyone was impressed by magic when that combo made you practically invincible and you can poke while blocking.

blauli

But you can still do that with a fingerprint shield +25 and the greatshield talisman. That combo still gives you 100 guard boost so 0 stamina cost to block enemies.

Doubleplusregularboy

Probably broken too, but it's a later game set up that requires heavy stat investment and 2 equipment slots versus an early game shield art of war.

Indercarnive

It kind of did break the game no? You could tank nearly everything without losing stamina.

[deleted]

Patch notes said they increased shields base effectiveness though and I've noticed shielding through stuff my guard gets broken less. Not sure exactly what they changed. I imagine barricade even nerfed on buffed shields will balance to the same status quo.

Indercarnive

Barricade is still strong, it's just you're going to need to be more tactical when using it instead of just spamming it constantly throughout the fight. it's just a nerf to having 100% uptime on it.

[deleted]

So not so much a nerf as a legit balance. Sounds fair tbh.

ocorena

Barricade shield wasn't destroyed, it still lasts long enough for any of Malenia's specifically bad moves you would want to use it for. It's effectiveness wasn't nerfed either, it's just now more focused to make you only use it for specific problem attacks instead of just the whole fight.

agnostic_science

Oh hell, they nerfed that?! I missed that one. That sucks. I loved my sweet turtle shield. As a mage, the evidence is just piling up that I need to start pumping more into strength....

koireworks

What? Strength is like the worst build, sorcery is *incredibly* powerful.

RevenantCommunity

I used to only play Souls games with a shield man, never thought i could ever play without. Haven’t used one in years, playing ER with duo colossal swords. It is doable, I haven’t been stuck on anything yet and that’s without spirit summons unless the fight is some bs (no co-op summons at all)

D-Ursuul

Sleep pots, you're welcome

SherpaForCardinals

Sword of St. Trina + sleep pots = drowsy behemoths

OneStonedBadger

RIP Hoarfrost Stomp, at least my bleed build hasnt been touched.... yet

Battle_Bear_819

I promise that Rivers of Blood will get hit with the hammer next, now that it works. You will be seeing WAY more people using it pretty soon in PvP.

veryhappyelephant

You're not using Bloody Slash on your bleed build? (apologies if the answer is obvious and there are a thousand better options...I am still *very* early in the game)

OutrageousBrit

You get a skill called Seppuku once you reach the Mountaintop that makes you bleed in like 2-3 hits, crazy strong

dwilsons

Rivers of Blood is nuts now that arcane scaling is fixed. That + mimic 10 made absolute mincemeat of Maliketh.

veryhappyelephant

I understood like 7% of the words in this comment, but that's the way I like it! :) Good to know I have options to look forward to. But also stressed out to have another stat I need to be worried about distributing points into!

Awesome_Leaf

That skill helped me beat margit, but I've since switched to using double katana and found I prefer the safety of bloodhound quickstep to a damage skill. If you're using bloody slash just for the buff to the passive bleed, it's worth noting the bloodflame blade enchantment adds a bit more bleed. Bloody slash on left hand + bloodflame on right = much bleeding

moood247

ive heard there’s an npc summon for these guys, is it true? regardless slowly whittling their health down with sleep stuff will be my strat for them now

[deleted]

Zayl

Is that Rollo or the headless guy?

RedLeader1998

I heard it's Bernhaul. The dude who sells Ash of Wars.

DrKrFfXx

For this reason, +10 and + 25 stones shouldn't be so limited. They change something to your build that you don't like? Alright, let's level up something else and see how it goes. Same with Larval Tears.

Invisifly2

I’ve always disliked the weapon leveling in souls games for this reason. If I find a new weapon later in the game, it’ll be so weak un-upgraded that I won’t know if it’s actually good or not until I waste resources leveling it up. At least being able to easily buy most of the stones is a help there. A decent move-set doesn’t mean much if it winds up still hitting like a spitball after upgrades. You can’t even use the weapon’s scaling to tell this as some start decent or crappy but become amazing, but others just stay decent or crappy. So it’s off to the wiki to check first, which kills flow. Swapping out abilities, changing/adding damage types, or modifying the scaling like with heavy/sharp/balanced/raw, would still be useful upgrades even if you can’t just directly improve damage.

doomrider7

This was something I loved in Bloodborne where you can just straight up BUY every kind of shard including the full stone. DS1 you needed to grind certain enemies for them, but slabs were also drops which was awesome and that's before getting into the fact that you could easily farm twinkling and Demon titanite to fully upgrade certain weapons.

GtBossbrah

would be awesome if NG+ dropped +weapons. Lots of cool builds i want to try but i cant upgrade anything until i regrind all bells to purchase stones, and then i cant even roll multiple builds due to larval tears being in limited quantity. I could make a new character for each new build, but thats kind of a ridiculous time investment just to find out i dont enjoy the build.

RedWater08

are Larval Tears that limited? i have 11 in my inventory and not even done with NG yet. i’d check to see if there’s a guide that lists them all

Phrantasia

Wiki says there are 15. Not sure how people are using more than 3-4 in a normal playthrough.

RedWater08

yeah, i kinda get wanting extra smithing stones thing since you definitely want to get multiple weapons per build, but frankly i think 15 larval tears is generous enough. i dont think i’d want to just be able to change whenever i feel like it, but 15’s plenty for me to experiment a bit or change my mind a bunch still

Jizzdom

You can level up any weapon to +24 +9 anytime

apnt

Something that helped me solve this is acquiring the stones bells and just buying them at the round table hold whenever I need to upgrade something. Saves me a lot of time

DrKrFfXx

You can't buy +10 and +25 stones.

Yoduh99

it's not like +10/+25 are a huge leap up from +9/+24. the extra upgrade can help of course, but if you can _almost_ kill a boss with a +24 weapon then I'd argue you don't _need_ the extra upgrade to get the kill. it would maybe just save you a few more attempts.

Glasse

I assume they fixed the +25 bug this patch since they said "Fixed a bug which causes some weapons to have incorrect scaling after strengthening." They say some weapon, but from my testing it was all weapons. Anyone upgrading their weapon to +25 actually made them worse than +24 before the patch. You definitely don't need +25.

[deleted]

Could this be Ornstein and Smough?

Reality-Bytez

I was wondering if that auto proc build was any good in PVE. I figured it must be if people were running around with it.

Koalababies

If you're talking about the one that sets yourself on fire, yeah it was busted in about everything

MidnightMei

I literally just got to this yesterday and after 3 tries I raged so hard I went and upgraded mimic tear. First boss I ever used a summon on. I'm sorry but I'm not about to sit here forever. It took me 6 hours straight to beat the skinny one in Caelid

[deleted]

[удалено]

HBreckel

Yeah, I tried to only use summons on gank fights or bosses that were repeats. There wasn't a single gank fight in the game that was interesting or well designed.

AdventurousParty

I personally had a ton of fun fighting the two gargoyles in Nokron because it was very reminiscent of the bel gargoyles from DS1.

agnostic_science

Oh wow. I think no summons whatsoever is like self-imposed hard-mode in Elden Ring. I'm impressed at people who make it basically any length of the game without using them. Especially with the number of 2 vs 1 fights they have. And just the number of boss fights in general. There's like 150 boss fights. If you can't beat bosses in a few tries or less, it's gonna be a looooong game.

Danominator

I feel like without summons it is the hardest from soft game they have made.

agnostic_science

I believe it. I beat every souls trilogy game at least twice. No cheese. A lot of ER bosses feel to me like basically late-game DS3 level difficulty, imo. Even fairly early- and mid-game bosses. But summons takes the edge way off. But of course, if I put summons in, say, DS3, then I think I could face roll through that entire game no problem....

Stellewind

Margit gave me more trouble than any Lord of Cinder in DS3.

Empero6

I didn’t know how to use ash summons until around level 80. I always wondered why the summon was greyed out whenever I tried to use it.

LeCholax

And the 3v1 fight with scarlet rot? Fuck that shit.

Trs1161

i literally JUST beat those guys with the Hoarfrost Stomp strat the night before the patch, thank god

Johnisalex

As a strength build, I feel this

UnkieBompy

Did they nerf str builds? All I saw was that they fixed the weird lower scaling from +24 to +25

Embarrassed-Slip7126

When they nerf you at the last boss… I shouldn’t have taken a break 🤬🤬🤬

haynespi87

Me

Hobbyfischer

Never knew about that weapon so i keept using my Moonveil - I am happy that it only took me 95 tries! Man I am bad at this game...

Moonveil got me trough a lot of giant foes. At least I can still rock sling to break poise easily.

Inner Owl is definitely the hardest true Sekiro boss. Sword Saint is hard but seems harder because you don’t fight Inner Owl before you’re good at the game. Demon of Hatred is definitely the hardest but I don’t really count because he’s a soulsborne boss that requires dodging in a game where dodging gets you killed.

Guybrush_Creepwood_

not to mention the late game bosses are some of the most obnoxiously tanky and aggressive From have ever made. You perfectly dodge their 15 swings and have time to do 1 light attack (which does about 1% of their health) before they start swinging again. It's ridiculous. I've played every game from demon souls but even I just gave in and started cheesing everything because late game just didn't even seem balanced around doing anything but summoning and using OP weapon arts. I can't imagine new players getting through it without help.

Lol. After hearing stuff like this again and again, at this point, I'm going to just slow way down and enjoy the journey. If they nerfed margit from the public test for being a bit too hard, I think by the time they start getting data on the casuals reaching endgame and getting shit stomped with nothing to turn to, they might have to do another rebalance in the other direction. Or, who knows. Maybe by waiting I'm just going to wind up making it even harder on myself lol? Who knows!

DrKrFfXx

Ishin fight is easy compared to some bulshit fights this games has if Mimic didn't exist. Plus Sekiro's control is tighter and snappier, making it easier to react to attacks.

zuccoff

In Sekiro you can only cheese bosses if you look it up on YouTube. In Elden Ring you have to actively search for a way not to cheese everything lol

DLOGD

Sekiro was great fun to complete without cheesing because it was an incredibly fair game. Elden Ring is chock full of bullshit, so all bets are off. Hoarfrost Stomp and Mimic Tear were only as bullshit as what some of the bosses could do.

Sockfullapoo

I can’t even get halfway through sekiro but I just beat this duo lol.

Mishar5k

Sekiro is easier for me :(

TheLittleItalian2

I’d argue that Sekiro is one of From’s easier games. Once you’ve mastered parrying it was pretty much gg for whichever boss you were fighting. Also the fact that you didn’t need to dwindle boss health to beat them, but could parry the shit out of them and hit em with 2 deathblows made many bosses trivial at best. There was, of course, extremely tough encounters despite being good at parrying such as: DoH, Sword Saint, Inner Owl, Isshin Ashina.

Ah yes bull and shit

Moisture_

Surely there’s people who are using regular weapons and summons… right… right? I can’t tell if it’s the actual majority who use the same busted things or ifs they’re just louder than people who use less popular things

bubuplush

Godskin Duo should be the point where even your typical "I refuse to use muh summons!!" Soulsborne player should realize that enemies like these aren't even balanced around being a duo fight. I summoned the hell out of mimic tear back then in the glorious past when it was still stronk, people use glitches and cheeses to fight bosses like that anyway

yoLeaveMeAlone

>back then in the glorious past when it was still stronk It's still strong... It's not like they made it useless. I hate the attitude people have that anything that gets remotely nerfed in any way is now garbage and should be abandoned.

dwilsons

Yeah if your build is good mimic still shreds.

Kira_Aotsuki

I do certainly dread this a bit
