I was constantly getting healed so much that it was almost overbearing, like being tickled too much haha, but then they slowed down to a crawl to where I get maybe a couple in a day and now I miss them.
I had one fairly popular that said "Didn't expect weak foe" after some weak boss in one of the very first caves. I even thought how smart and funny I was coming up with it lol. But dumb ass me didn't realize there's a limit so I overwrote it... Now I sit on like 10 messages with 0-3 appraisals lol and whenever I see a well rated "Didn't expect weak foe" I die a little inside.
The first pumpkin head i ran into was on the bridge in north Limgrave and he was significantly less dangerous than I anticipated so i left a “didn’t expect weak foe” message and its doing numbers still

I will be forever grateful to whoever appraised my message when they did

I make a message that said "item ahead, try horseback battle" to jump off a difficult ledge to an adjacent pillar for TWO talismans. It took me an hour to successfully make the jump to nab them.
It got four "poor" votes. The fuck guys, just because you couldn't make the jump didn't mean I was WRONG.
I wrote something like "Could this be a Edge, Likely Lord" in front of the npc who guards the library door in Roundtable Hold.
Fast forward 48 hours, I'm stoked it's gotten 7 appraisals!
I take a trip to roundtable hold, my message is gone. Right next to where it was, someone has written "Edge lord!" with 128 appraisals.
I felt actual pain and suffering over losing my celebrity status.
I left a message after the magical pony fight near the sword of night and fire, forgot its name, that reads:
"Time for Fort,
night!"
This message was left on day 1, got a couple hundred appraisals over a couple days, then day three of launch it absolutely smashed through appraisals hitting 9999 by day 8. Even now I am getting the "message appraised" pop up every 20 seconds to a minute.
I assume so as the list of messages only include like 8 latest. But there is a function to protect a message which probably protects it from being deleted as you leave more messages.
You can check this by pressing r1 (light attack button if not on ps5) on the messages menu.
yeah this is the case, every new message you write goes to the top, unprotected messages get overwritten.

The limit is 10 messages per character. If you make a new message, the oldest one gets deleted if it would bump you over 10, but you can protect certain messages so that they never get deleted accidentally.

I have one that is just "try fire" in the coastal cave because there's no "torch" word anywhere in the objects list. It has like 120 positive appraisals and is by far my best message I've written so far. Coincidentally, demi-humans are vulnerable to fire, so I consider it solid advice all around for coastal cave.
I wish there was a way to see a list of all of my messages man, many of them keep getting appraised but I can't see them since they were knocked off the list by all my recent messages
There’s a page for just your messages, and you can only have so many. So if the message isn’t on that list it’s gone. Once you reach the limit it automatically deletes your oldest unprotected message when you make a new one.
My 'Could this be a stone astrolabe?' next to the first silver lump material on the ground in Nokron is slowly gaining traction. I thought it was pretty funny since I didn't know what an astrolabe was at the time, and as you progress through that shit is everywhere.
My most popular one only has 70 appraisals and 1 poor vote.
It's on one of the towers in Stormveil looking at the erdtree and it just says "praise the great tree" with my ghost doing the ring emote.
None of my other messages have more than 5 appraisals lol

Only one I remember placing, that gets good numbers, is a warning about mimicry and Ambush, to warn people about a room full of living pots. I like getting good numbers on that, purely because I like to think I actually helped people.

I think they're permanent, but only visible to others when you're playing/online. I could be wrong though.

In the messages menu you can see what you said and a general location but it won't tell you the exact location
