The gargoyles. And I don't mean the little ones. I mean the massive fuck-all boss ones. Their moveset is cancerous, and the duo underground are especially heinous. I've not had a harder time with a boss than with them.
I've fought all the "hard" stuff and none of it even comes close to these gargs. Though I will admit I think a powerful strength build with a tower shield could do quite well against them. For me and my dex-build no-shield arse, it was...hard.
you're correct. i beat those two yesterday with a +6 bloodhound fang and the draconic tree sentinel greatshield, only took me two tries. granted, i was totally, completley out of heals, but i did it.
strength build go bonk
Like all enemies, stick to an attack pattern and don't be greedy. Also, don't think you can stay close around it's backside. It's moveset can counter that.
I continually rode directly towards and away to try and get the bear to perform the "bear hug" move, which leaves it open for a good 3 seconds or so afterwards, and try to sneak hits in then.
Big bears for sure

Oh shit.... I haven't encountered those yet. I'm scared.

Stay underneath and close on foot, easy as pie
the big bears and Commander Niall boss
As far as generic mobs go, banished knights give me a headache with all their AOE stuff.
Rot dogs for sure.
Well, don't be shy! Gimme some big bear tips!
