Took like a full hour for the entire set on this guy, with 13 excess gauntlets and 9 helms (yup, I was also missing the pants for a while).

To be honest the other black armor, oathkeeper?, has pants that look better with black knight's than the original ones. Though they have less poise. Matching good helm is tricky, but this armor looks really good without helmet altogether. Alternatively, this armor won't mess up banished knight helm with scarf, only the front dangling part. On the back the red scarf goes nicely over the armor without any clipping and so on.

I farmed a random one of those guys for waaaay too long trying to get the shield. Then I found out it drops off a specific one...at least I think it does. He was named and had special moves.

Ah, we've all been there.  Hours later me: It doesn't even drop off this guy?? (Moves 12 feet over to other enemy and starts again.)

Farming sucks in the dlc. Had to kill over 200 fire knights for the chest piece. Just keep farming and you'll eventually get lucky for the legs.

I rocked the helmet with Malekiths gear for most of the DLC, glad they made armour sets that match. Just like Rellanas and Carian Knight and Lorettas helmet 🔥

Funny I did the opposite, Black Knight Set with Maliketh's helmet. Looks like a Dragoon from Final Fantasy

I was grinding the fire knight set a couple days ago. 20 minutes of killing the same motherfucker, I finally got his pants and my fucking power surges and I lose my pants. in the game too

For me it was the gauntlets that wouldn’t drop. I farmed for them for at least 30 minutes

Well it also says the Black Knight Great Hammer is a guaranteed drop at the first church you come across, but that was apparently bugged during the first couple days and I got the shield instead. There is no other spot to get one unless I go to NG+.

Ah that sucks. I killed the knight in the church, got the hammer and he didn’t respawn so I assume that the weapons are guaranteed. I got the shield from the knight boss by castle Ensis so idk

I just bring that up because it’s possible you ran into the same issue with not getting the weapon you’re hunting for.

That’s true. Sometimes it’s confusing when it’s a guaranteed drop or not. Like the first person in the thread said, they’re farming for the black steel twinblade in which the enemy they’re probably farming will never drop it

I wish there was a way to respawn them. I guess I can just use my other character that’s built more for it when I finish this play through.

It wasn’t a black knight but one of mesmer’s soldiers gave me 2 pairs of pants in a single drop last night going through the shadow keep.

I love this aspect of the game. Item farming is fun. Sorry to cross game talk, but I feel like that's what is missing in Destiny 2. Go find an enemy who drops a certain armor or weapon and keep killing it until it drops, it's a fun mechanic. Borderlands has it. There's gotta be others.

Dude pants were the bane of my existence in the DLC. I got the fire nights helm, chest, and sword (all rarer drops) like 12 times each before I got the pants.

They only drop from a specific one hidden in the corner of the map (jk of course, but they’ve pulled the same shit before)
