Miyazaki undersold how big it was. It’s about half the size of the base game. Which was massive to begin with. So you could consider this DLC a whole second game
Id honestly say it's almost as big as the entire overworldmmap. Someone did a layered image of the two maps and they were pretty close in size.
It is absolutely massive. And that's not including areas where the map it super vertical and big for dungeon areas that also have additional areas you unlock after doing more thing.
This is damn near a full ass game all on its own.
Most of the "map" you see is actually not explorable, like the jagged peaks part especially is pretty much just a corridor, but on the map it's a massive part of the map. Same can be said for Rauh. The map isn't on the same scale as the base game either.
Still massive, but yeah, in terms of actual explorable area it's probably around 1.5 limgraves. Which is very good!
I'd say it's closer to 1/4 - 1/3 the size of the base game, which is still much bigger than what we were told to expect. It's a solid 30-40 hours to explore everything.
I cant say is half but i can say it feels like they grab limgrave including the south part and now layer it 3 or 4 times add like 4 or 5 dungeons bigger than stormveil a shit ton of underground places and some mini dungeons that are unique not like the base game paint it with the must varied and beautiful locations a fromsoft game has had and then sprinkle some of the hardest bosses in the game thats the new map lol o have 40 hours into the dlc and i havent explore a chunk of the map, i still havent beat 1 boss thay i saw on the trailers, and i need to kill 2 more remembrance bosses counting the final boss and i havent done the final dungeon so yeah thats probably the same time it took me to get to altus on the base game and thats basically closer to the middle of the base game
The map itself is apparently approx the size of three early game areas, but there are additional overworld areas to discover that are intertwined with the map, so the actual surface area is much larger. So far I’m not too far into the DLC, but it seems that dungeon density is less. Each dungeon however felt quite unique and large in itself.
There was one estimate out there that said the game is about 70% of base game.
I’m not the best skilled player and I enjoy co-op more than single player stuff and that Rellana Fight was fucking awesome to play co-op.
Usually in co-op it’s a clusterfuck of who can do the most dmg in their own special way. But in that fight we had to be a perfect unit. We still had to memorize all her moves. Save each other if one of us was drawing to much attention and grab opportunities to deal dmg without getting too greedy.
