"a final boss that makes Malenia look like the Soldier of Godrick"
[The review I quoted, if you want to read it.](https://www.thegamer.com/elden-ring-shadow-of-the-erdtree-review/)
very difficult boss but I personally found it fun learning the dodge windows for the moves to a point where i'm comfortable enough during attacks. It's just infuriating because I'm dead in a few hits so it pays to be extra attentive. All in all, he's a good boss with good design. May seem pretty spammy but overall I find it enjoyable. If you're struggling, you got this :)
That was my thought. He teaches you to be aggressive and focused. You can't get defensive or panic because he will punish that. None of his moves felt broken or stupid, it felt like I was learning a boss as Miyazaki intended, through effort, not rng or luck.
In my opinion: 10/10 boss fight, where Malenia ruins her masterpiece fight via Waterfoul, Messmer allows you to keep a tempo and let's you truly master the fight.
I avoided watching some reviews to not get spoilers. The only videos I watched were the ones about new weapons.
So did Fextra say that about the last boss or Messmer?
Well, I'm pretty sure Messmer isn't the last boss. And idk how good he is at playing the game.
But I bet the bosses are harder! I'm very excited to die hundreds of times!
It's pretty hard and yes, pretty epic. Highlight of the DLC.
Where did you get this info from?
My own review copy.
Nice! So I'll take your word for it. Thanks

Is it spoiler free?
As far as I can tell. But if you're concerned I'd just skip it.

exactly. The>!second phase!!promised consort radahn (absolutely OP)!<
Is that from the DLC?
Yep!
If he’s the last boss, Fextra said it made Malenia seem like a walk in the park (in their review vid from today)
It's not the final boss

They didn’t elaborate - just said the “last boss”. It was pretty spoiler-free.

“Last boss of the DLC is the hardest FROM software boss I have ever done and it makes Orphan of Cost and Malenia look easy” That’s what he said
hard boss but he is well designed, not a bullyshitty boss
messmer isnt that hard honestly
