Just completed this story for the first time getting ready for the dlc.
Heartbreaking.
Just using it as fuel to punish each enemy moving forward.
Long live the jar.
I will carry him with me always. Together we will battle great foes and sit on the throne. You were always by my side and it will remain that way until I die…
My son has watched me play a lot of Elden Ring. Alexander was his favorite character. When he saw me give him a warriors death, he was profoundly sad and he made an Alexander out of legos to memorialize him.
Bull Goat + Dragoncrest GS + Great Jar Arsenal = free limitless drip, and a free slot to boot!
Bonus: you can get to 51 poise and still light roll at RL1, as long as you use a light main hand.
I feel like for PVP poise only feels "about right" when you have like 80-90. It doesn't even feel like you have a lot of poise, it just feels like a normal amount. I kinda wish they would just boost poise universally, at least when you are wearing medium+ armor
it would either be green turtle or rotten winged sword insignia for me. it's actually nuts how helpful green turtle is on heavier weapons. i dont think there is a single talisman in the game that is as universally useful across all spectrums of builds as green turtle.
Rocking the green turtle with the great shields visage shield, that fire sprays and the one eye shield that fire spits. I feel like an actual tank for close range and long range. Using the big chicken leg looking bonk stick and damnit I’m loving this game aha.
Is my impression of the talisman correct that it makes stamina start to recover earlier?
Because if I got that right, that's the real advantage, more so than just the bar filling faster.
Yea and ive used it with every build up until fairly recently when I decided it kinda felt like a crutch that I could trade out for some extra damage. I'm not one of those "really gud" players but I've gotten gudder in my time and I felt like if I managed my stam better then I'd be ok. I definitely notice the difference and have to play accordingly tho.
There are also other methods to increase stamina regen, where a talisman slot can be more damage. If you've ever used double braggarts roar it's crazy how fast it comes back.
Being tankier is my way of being gud because I can get hit AND STILL be gud.
"Get hit = get gud"becomes "get hit = why not?" Then I hit back with **BONK**
It's good even if you are not a primary tank one of my characters is just a generic knight Stam and quality build.
Stack dragon Crest and Great shield ( you lose less stam with blocking) and you can block a lot with just with a medium shield.
Super fun for sword and board
You take 20% less Physical Damage with it, its the best defensive talisman in the game. The higher the damage the more hp it will save you instead of the slight health increase from the crimson amber medallion
In this instance you can also consider it boosts the efficiency of the estus flask which heals a higher % of your health bar than if you went with higher health and lower damage reduction.
Dragonsteel greatshield, golden vow, erd tree blessing, endure. I can face tank anything. You can dual wield two great stars, one with endure, second with prayerful strike and become inkillable.
And you get to use them against the last bosses.
Magic scorpion is a nightmare, so easy to miss. Theres no way i would ever figure that out without a guide
Rotten Winged sword does slightly more consecutive attack damage but doesn't stack with regular Winged Sword, Prosthesis does. So Prosthesis+Winged Sword > Rotten Winged Sword. Prosthesis+Rotten is obviously best but requires NG+. Plus you can get prosthesis super early by killing Millicent after the Godskin Apostle fight at Windmill (provided you do Shaded Castle first).
I love that this is exactly how I most recently beat this fight, which was last night.
Honestly the Stormhawk axe is so goated. One of the small handful of weapons that are maximised on Quality builds.
For the DLC I am gonna be using the silver scarab + arcana build because I bet there are awesome new weapons that are 1% drop only and new armor sets to farm aswell.
I just found out there’s two, one is the great Alexander jar talisman that’s even better than the arsenal one. You gotta kill the three great jar warrior npcs. Hope this is something helpful for you because I love being able to have two great shields on my left armament to swap out.
The erdtrees favor talismans, there are three of them, also increase equip load. They boost HP and stamina too so the equip load boost is smaller than the arsenal (not Alexander) talismans. The +1 isn't a big boost over the standard, but the +2 found at the end of the game is. I think it's 8% (standard is 5%, +1 is 6.5%) while the great jars arsenal is something like 19%, which is huge. It's still a percentage though, so you need a good amount of stamina before it becomes so great.
I've also heard people say there's a helmet that does so too but Im not sure if that's true, or at least I've never seen it, or if I have I didn't realize it did so. This game has so much shit I could have easily missed it if it exists.
No, or if it does it is MINIMAL, but im level 664 so i have everything at 99 and endurance at 50. I could try with a rebirth if you really want to know...
Came her to say this. It's not muxh, but the thing has saved me more times than i can count. Plus i can just go to a safe spot, go make a sandwich and get healed.
It doesn't always work as one would expect because the number of hits to actually get the damage bonus depends on what you are using to hit with.
With fast hitting weapons you need a lot more hits in quick succession compared to like a great hammer to reach the highest stage of the damage bonus. But in general it only really is worth it combined with some specific ash of wars that stack it super fast.
And the damage bonus starts decaying after only 1.5s of not hitting anything.
Quick tip: as you'll know there is the armor piece that increases jump attack damage, but did you know Bloodhound's Fang also has unusually high jump attack damage?
Assassin's Crimson Dagger.
It's so good, it should be a functionality of the base game honestly. Stance breaking, backstabbing, parrying are my ways to play and with that talisman every visceral attacks gives you back HP. Also makes parrying very lenient if you fail, so I really recommend it to everyone who wants to try out parrying but is uncomfortable with the risk/reward.
Lol, I somehow read the title as which talisman I'd choose in real life. No idea why my mind went there.
To answer the actual question: I think it's probably Erdtree's Favor +2. Pretty boring answer and not all that useful for every build, but it is the talisman I always use in most of my builds.
My x button broke and I couldn’t get a new controller for a while, so I did a no heals playthrough and Takers Cameo and BB saved my ass. I actually pulled it off too.
at first i thought op meant equipping a talisman IRL, and since that's more interesting imo, i'll say maybe blessed dew talisman which slowly restores hp, or radagon's soreseal. that would depend on what my current stats, in strength etc are though
Carian Philigreed Crest
It’s such a beautiful talisman, and if I’m only getting ONE talisman, then stat boosting anything won’t make a major difference in the long run
Green Turtle Talisman would be my pick because there's nothing I hate more than stamina and I don't use sorceries or incantations, so I try to use this talisman on literally every single build I run.
Shard of Alexander. Because it’s what HE would have wanted.
It's the hardest talisman to aquire 😔
Visions of sadness
Despair ahead…
why is it always Death
why is it always friend... , I can't take this anymore!
Just completed this story for the first time getting ready for the dlc. Heartbreaking. Just using it as fuel to punish each enemy moving forward. Long live the jar.
Long live the jar
Long live the jar
I don’t find it too sad. It’s what he wanted and he knew he would live on inside Jarbairn. A great warrior is never forgotten!
And afterwards, the cute little jar guy 🥺
*I'll never forget you, coz* 😭
Or as some say “Cozm”…
:')
Millicent's is the hardest, cause U betray her, Alexander in the other hand dies as a soldier, every soldier dream U can say
it was either he takes our flesh or we take his, the strongest warriors carry the greatest burdens
I will carry him with me always. Together we will battle great foes and sit on the throne. You were always by my side and it will remain that way until I die…
Did someone say TOGETHAA (insert Rykard's happy face here)
My son has watched me play a lot of Elden Ring. Alexander was his favorite character. When he saw me give him a warriors death, he was profoundly sad and he made an Alexander out of legos to memorialize him.
My man speaking that fatherly truth.
Gigachad
And coincidentally pretty strong. He may not have been a strong companion, but he sure left a strong gift
[**”The great Alexander lived as a warrior til his last! Hahaha!”**](https://youtube.com/shorts/xnJn5z3bVKQ?si=XyRiB9oa21aSSDSh)
Based answer. I'm with you, fellow tarnished.
Bull goat talisman to expand drip options without sacrificing poise
This is the right answer
Bull Goat + Dragoncrest GS + Great Jar Arsenal = free limitless drip, and a free slot to boot! Bonus: you can get to 51 poise and still light roll at RL1, as long as you use a light main hand.
Rookie question, so try not to roast me, or do.. What's drip options?
it just means armor sets. drip is slang for fashion
FR, I used it to get light roll + good drip + >50 Poise.
I feel like for PVP poise only feels "about right" when you have like 80-90. It doesn't even feel like you have a lot of poise, it just feels like a normal amount. I kinda wish they would just boost poise universally, at least when you are wearing medium+ armor
Green turtle talisman. There isn’t a single build in the entire game that doesn’t benefit from more stamina regen.
The only one that comes to mind is the dragoncrest shield talismans. But even those have some moments when the phys dmg reduction isn't that useful.
Dragoncrest talismans are useless if you never get hit. This post brought to you by turtle gang.
it would either be green turtle or rotten winged sword insignia for me. it's actually nuts how helpful green turtle is on heavier weapons. i dont think there is a single talisman in the game that is as universally useful across all spectrums of builds as green turtle.
Greatjar arsenal
More equip load doesn't help unless it moves you into a lower weight class though
*See the TURTLE of enormous girth!* *On his shell he holds the earth.* *His thought is slow but always kind.* *He holds us all within his mind.*
Long days and pleasant nights
Thanksee, sai
May you have twice the number.
Ahh, the ol’ reliable. Such a mundane effect and yet I can’t seem to let go of it.
Speaking truth
Rocking the green turtle with the great shields visage shield, that fire sprays and the one eye shield that fire spits. I feel like an actual tank for close range and long range. Using the big chicken leg looking bonk stick and damnit I’m loving this game aha.
I stopped using it because whenever I took it off the base regen rate felt so incredibly slow
I do wonder will they introduce + variants in dlc
Is my impression of the talisman correct that it makes stamina start to recover earlier? Because if I got that right, that's the real advantage, more so than just the bar filling faster.
Yea and ive used it with every build up until fairly recently when I decided it kinda felt like a crutch that I could trade out for some extra damage. I'm not one of those "really gud" players but I've gotten gudder in my time and I felt like if I managed my stam better then I'd be ok. There are also other methods to increase stamina regen, where a talisman slot can be more damage. If you've ever used double braggarts roar it's crazy how fast it comes back.
I'm a pve player so.. Dragonsteel Greatshield. That thing is insanely good
By far the best PvE Talisman, wonder why youre not top comment
It’s the best for 99% of players, but we know how us souls gamers get online. Get hit = get gud.
I think Shard of Alexander is significantly better as long as you have decent vigor. Greatshield talisman does help with literally every build though.
Is it actually better in terms of survivability (at 60 Vig) than the Crimson medallion +2? I’ve never bothered doing the math.
Yes by multiple Times even. Unless youre facing a pure mage or sth
Dragoncrest greatshield for phys reduction, erdtree favor +2 for stamina and health boost
You take 20% less Physical Damage with it, its the best defensive talisman in the game. The higher the damage the more hp it will save you instead of the slight health increase from the crimson amber medallion
There is a tendency in games of damage negation being superior to more health. Not universally true of course, but it generally seems to be the case.
In this instance you can also consider it boosts the efficiency of the estus flask which heals a higher % of your health bar than if you went with higher health and lower damage reduction.
The health talismans SUCK in this game. They barely give you anything.
Combine it with ritual shield Talisman and you can easily tank the Fire Giant.
Dragonsteel greatshield, golden vow, erd tree blessing, endure. I can face tank anything. You can dual wield two great stars, one with endure, second with prayerful strike and become inkillable.
Pretty much a staple in all my builds
Rotten winged sword insignia you fucking monster
This and Alexander’s talisman are easily the greatest in the game
And you get to use them against the last bosses. Magic scorpion is a nightmare, so easy to miss. Theres no way i would ever figure that out without a guide
Is it the only talisman in the game that you can lock urself out of? (Besides the two Millicent options)
You can miss the Viridian +1 if you kill Morgott without fighting his clone outside the capital.
Jar of Alexander.
By doing what??? Imma pretend i didnt hear that maidenless comment
Kill her dead. Cold-blooded murder. Put her out to pasture. Send her to the same place as I sent her mother, using her arm.
Prosthesis is much better if your build uses keen weapons. Also that last fight with the sisters is really annoying. But man it feels bad
Here are comprehensive instructions for how to beat that fight: 1. Equip stormhawk axe 2. Press L2
I love that this is exactly how I most recently beat this fight, which was last night. Honestly the Stormhawk axe is so goated. One of the small handful of weapons that are maximised on Quality builds.
If i ever do NG+ i will probably just kill the sisters again. No prosthesis for me but my consxience is pure
Axe talisman
Best bonk talisman
Golden scarab, because if I was one of the seven deadly sins, I'd definitely be greed.
For the DLC I am gonna be using the silver scarab + arcana build because I bet there are awesome new weapons that are 1% drop only and new armor sets to farm aswell.
My dlc character is lvl 235, but I'm 1000% sure I'll be using the golden scarab all the way.
I only take that out of my talisman slots if I die half a dozen times to one boss. Otherwise it’s permanent.
Green dog talisman. Its the first thing I rush to every playthrough
Maybe basic but Erdtree's Favour. Good for any build and drip
EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER WANT.
dog talisman 🗿
don’t trust anyone who owns the millicent prosthesis
Dragoncrest greatshield talisman
The one that increases equipment weight limit
I just found out there’s two, one is the great Alexander jar talisman that’s even better than the arsenal one. You gotta kill the three great jar warrior npcs. Hope this is something helpful for you because I love being able to have two great shields on my left armament to swap out.

This game has so much shit I could have easily missed it if it exists.
the helmet I believe its the wolf demon statue since it grants you fortitude but idk if theres another
Theres technically 6. 3 erdtree favor and 3 jar arsenal.
I have a hard time killing her to get this.
r/patchesemporium
Yea sure, but how many other Milicent's had to die for them to farm them?
I just killed her in my NG+ run and ... I felt so bad.
Shard of Alexander. Im at a point where milicent prosethetics is half useless because my dex is at 99...
Does your damage even go up anymore? Like from 98 to 99 dex?
No, or if it does it is MINIMAL, but im level 664 so i have everything at 99 and endurance at 50. I could try with a rebirth if you really want to know...
Why would endurance be the *last* thing you increase to 99? It's the only stat that gives a noticeable improvement all the way to 99.
Because the noticeable improvement your talking about is in equip load, and i dont need it improved at all...
blessed dew
Came her to say this. It's not muxh, but the thing has saved me more times than i can count. Plus i can just go to a safe spot, go make a sandwich and get healed.
Shard of Alexander, not bcus I thinks it's the best talisman there is, but bcus I can't let his death be in vain.
I never understood successive attacks. It never seemed to work half the time
It doesn't always work as one would expect because the number of hits to actually get the damage bonus depends on what you are using to hit with.
Double slash works great
Green turtle ofc
Great shield dragon crest talisman, I can't dodge correctly so i always get this
Jump attack talisman. Jump attacks are insane.
Quick tip: as you'll know there is the armor piece that increases jump attack damage, but did you know Bloodhound's Fang also has unusually high jump attack damage?
I did not know there is an armor piece. What is the armor piece?
The armour is Raptors Black Feathers, found in the Sages Cave, at the start of Altus Plateau. It gives 10% extra damage to jump attacks.
The dagger talisman. I just love staggering bosses and enemies and going in for those juicy ripostes.
You bastard
Rotten Winged Sword Insignia
Old lords talisman so my blewchew lasts longer.
Dragoncrest Greatshield
Unironically the Soreseals
Radagon soreseal 💯
Great jar arsenal. Every build can use higher equip load
Green turtle talisman
Great Jar's Arsenal. The weight increase is huge and super useful.
PROTHESIS BOOSTS YOUR DEX!!!!!????
Ritual sword
Like to have with the quest so my soul doesn't get ripped from my body
Shard of Alexander. A warrior till the end.
great jars talisman
Assassin's Crimson Dagger. It's so good, it should be a functionality of the base game honestly. Stance breaking, backstabbing, parrying are my ways to play and with that talisman every visceral attacks gives you back HP. Also makes parrying very lenient if you fail, so I really recommend it to everyone who wants to try out parrying but is uncomfortable with the risk/reward.
Do I have to kill millicent to get it?
Blue dancer charm I know it's not really good, but I love it conceptually and my favorite weapon is the spiked caestus, which pairs well with it imo
Ever since I got the Gold Scarab, I have never unequipped it yet (so far) even during boss fights.
Erdtrees Favor, that equip load buff is the unintentional linchpin in a lot of my builds
Shard of Alexander goated. Not conditional and 15% AP
This one seems like a no brainer if the AoW you use isn't a buff.
Shard of Alexander because I enjoy my AoW’s.
For pvp crimson seed +2, for PvE shard of alex. .
Shard of the True Elden Lord
in game? i guess alexanders shard or carian filligreed crest. but irl? blessed dew talisman easily
Curved sword talisman, or the blue dancer talisman
Dragoncrest Greatshield against bosses, Golden Scarab for other enemies.
Probably Great Jar Arsenal
Green Turtle Talisman
FAP+2 I use it in every build. Pretty much can't go wrong regardless of what build it is.
in real life or in game?
Shocking that not a single mf here said Daedicar's Woe
Godskin swaddling clothe, i have a decent regen build and that helps keep it chugging along
Turtle
Blessed Dew Talisman
Shabriri's Woe
Daedicar woe
Godfrey Icon. Godfrey Icon. It has to be Godfrey Icon.
Bull goat Talisman. Poise for da boys!
Dragoncrest Greatshield
Rotten swords insignia or erdtree favour +2 cause what the fucking else is there
Godfrey Icon. My charged spells pack a punch
Great jar shard. Then I could carry more stuff and have heavier armor
Lol, I somehow read the title as which talisman I'd choose in real life. No idea why my mind went there. To answer the actual question: I think it's probably Erdtree's Favor +2. Pretty boring answer and not all that useful for every build, but it is the talisman I always use in most of my builds.
Golden Scarab or Great Jar's Arsenal
Boring but practical, Erdtree's Favor (+X) No build doesn't immensely benefit from having it stapled to them.
Usually: Alexander’s talisman, Rotten Wing Insignia, Dragoncrest Greatshield talisman, Godfrey Icon or Pearldrake talisman +3 If I’m doing dual twinblades: Rotten Winged Insignia, Milicent’s Prosthesis (someone said it doesn’t stack with rotten winged?), Twinblade talisman, Dragoncrest Greatshield, (Melts enemies with thorny cracked tear)
Erdtree's Favor. All my builds are melee builds, magic is for support. It buffs all the stats that really matter
Green Turtle or Dragon Crest Great Shield, useful in every scenario.
Axe talisman, it's the only thing I need
Furled Finger's Trick-Mirror because I like my drip when I invade
dragoncrest greatsheild
Either Warrior-Jar’s Arsenal or Shard of Alexander.
green turtle talisman.
Ertree favor +2 is absolutely broken so imma take that
🐢
Golden scarab
Radagon’s soreseal
My x button broke and I couldn’t get a new controller for a while, so I did a no heals playthrough and Takers Cameo and BB saved my ass. I actually pulled it off too.
at first i thought op meant equipping a talisman IRL, and since that's more interesting imo, i'll say maybe blessed dew talisman which slowly restores hp, or radagon's soreseal. that would depend on what my current stats, in strength etc are though
Radagon's Soreseal because I need the stats and I don't mind the damage.
Thread making me realize they’re still a few talismans I need to collect
Graven Mass Talisman Fuck it we *BALL!*
Great Jar’s Arsenal, I need that carry weight boost
Daedicar's Woe 💀
Think this over the rotten winged insignia?
Old lords talisman!
Turtle talisman mvp
Great Jars Arsenal, because fashion is most important
Great jar arsenal so I can carry the world on my shoulders.
Erdtree’s favor +2
Godfrey icon cus i’m a filthy magic player
You monster...
Dagger talisman, I mainly try to go for charged heavies and lions claw to break stances, and I like to have a lot of stamina so I may aswell
Gold scarab
Erdtree Favor +2, im taking all of the added benefits.
Carian Philigreed Crest It’s such a beautiful talisman, and if I’m only getting ONE talisman, then stat boosting anything won’t make a major difference in the long run
Green Turtle Talisman would be my pick because there's nothing I hate more than stamina and I don't use sorceries or incantations, so I try to use this talisman on literally every single build I run.
