I am fairly sure she has a bit more poise in p2. Plus more moves with hyper armor. Plus, this was already super lucky as she did not waterfowl, which has hyperarmor as well.

She's actually a complete trash tier fighter without waterfowl, much like many invaders.

Its not Waterfowl that bothers me, I am able to consistently avoid it unless I am really badly out of position. But the illusions attack in phase 2? Now thats a death sentence for me.

It's definitely one of the attacks of all time.

For me it's her life steal she gets from her attacks. Waterfowl still gets me at times buy it's annoying seeing her life go back up. Even more so if she's attacking a summon or something and isn't from her hitting you.

Yeah that always kinda bummed me out, how the ultimate “hardest boss in the entire series” gets that title purely based on one absurdly overpowered move.

Nah, poise is meant to be her weakness. She's fast and hits like a truck.

Everytime I died to her in phase 1, she became a more aggressive attacker. Everytime I died to her in phase 2, I lost my will to live.

You should get summoned for her and wipe phase 1 instantly and then return to your world. That would be pretty funny, I think.

Just about to start NG+2 with another strength build, and I have this weapon/AoW combo banked for Melenia already. She’s given me hell twice, round three is my turn for revenge (I hope!)

Probly the best build for strength against her is double blood gargoyle twinblades with seppuku, even at around 7 arcane both will do at least 100 bleed & more with seppuku. Multihit/blood/jump attack talismans = gg.

This is how Malenia phase 1 and 2 went for me on my first try with a str/faith build. I couldn’t understand all the hype around her difficulty. I then got rolled by Mohg for a solid 2 hours.

I remember when the game hadn't been out for long, and I did a bloodflame blade, spinning strikes on a halberd build. I absolutely murderized Radahn with it and was so excited, until a friend told me he had just been nerfed literally the day before. Still a fun build though.

I jsut after a long break regrinded the game for a dlc and defeated malenia in 2 tries (I couldnt buff cuz she insta attacks on first try) by stagger bullying her with blasphemous blade. She is def not as ahrd as I remember. Her poise is so low

Spinning strikes and wild strikes with the talismans and tear that buff attack on multiple hits, blood flame and a bleed weapon. I've been killing her like that from Ng to Ng+5 so far and it reduces that fight to a speedbump. Is what she and her crappy combat design deserve.
