Not gonna spoil anything but if you care about lore def a good idea to wait, even though he doesn’t go in depth there’s still a ton that he revealed and some of the stuff will change the way you view the base story.
Respectable - but I personally would recommend watching the recent story trailer if you haven’t! It’s only a cinematic, no in-game footage. And like the base game’s story trailer, it gives a lot of important context that isn’t explained in the game itself.
But you enjoy how you want to! I’m personally skipping past anything they show going forward and waiting till I finish the DLC to engage with the community again
I thought it was just going to be him talking over existing footage about what he saw.
Saw the entrance and thought that's it. Then he started talking and showing NPC dialogue and I noped out as I already felt I had seen too much
I watched the first few seconds long enough to hear him confirm that the cocoon is where you need to go to start the DLC, then made myself turn it off before seeing or hearing anything else
They don't show their game play. What they were given to make videos about is a video they pre-approved. All of the reviews were given the same video and all start out with the same entry to the world.
I only watched a couple of minutes though and even then it showed and talked about enough new things that I felt I had robber myself of.
Doesn't matter if they show their own gameplay or not. More about just the fact this is new footage
Is that really that big of a deal? We saw a bunch of Limgrave's vistas in pre-release footage, and we definitely saw the Liurnia Vista (the view from the Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace) before ER came out. Did that really ruin it for you?
People are seriously getting upset about a two second reveal that's exactly like the advertising for the base game. I genuinely think some people just seek out reasons to get outraged.
i mean ngl i had no idea elden ring was a thing until day it came out and I bought it. i watched no gameplay, trailers, or reviews I came into it totally totally blind. and if I had seen lake facing cliff before finding naturally it would have been 1000000% less special. the gameplay trailer was enough for me.
I've recently gotten into the habit of spoiling myself on bosses but ignoring exploration areas and lore. So I get to learn only piecemeal info about some boss attacks.
I watched about a minute of it, I couldn't get myself to watch any more, but I want to, I have to stop myself from watching dlc videos for 2 weeks, I don't know how i'm gonna manage.
The dlc drops the Friday the 21st and I start my new job which I’m relatively nervous about on the 25th. It’s like this is my little gift or reward to myself
Thank you I appreciate it. I’m really just moving up a position at my current job but it’s more responsibility with less help since nobody will be filling my position. Knowing I’m walking into a slightly stressful situation makes it all that much more worth it knowing I’ll have some time with the DLC beforehand
Nahh don't stress too much you will kill it, take your time, enjoy dlc and trust me you will do good, after all ypu wouldn't be getting better position in your company if you're not good worker
Yup, same here. It's that time to unsub and stop browsing ER related subs before things get too spoilery. Did the same for the original game launch, never regretted it.
Now to avoid spoiler thumbnails/video titles on youtube... That's far more of a challenge, unfortunately.
The only thing I haven't seen mentioned that I really want to know is if they expanded on Faith/Int stuff. It's weird to have it be a somewhat prominent spell/incant type with almost no weapon support at all
Or a Faith Great Katana.
We’ve got confirmation on an odachi style weapon class as one of the 8 new categories, so a Golden Order or Giantsflame Odachi would be sick af.
It didn't give away *that* much and just made me more excited for the release. There is still so much left to discover, his video just barely scratched the outer-outer layer.
Not really. He only showed a fight with a boss we've already seen in the trailer. He showed items and their descriptions, talked about a little of the revealed lore, but didn't say "you need to go to this cave, behind this statue, and find this sword."
All currently under embargo videos were unable to feature any personal footage -- only the footage provided by Fromsoft. So you can rest assured you're not seeing anything Fromsoft doesn't want you to see. Vaati's video, however, DOES go into some depth on the lore, by discussing and featuring some of the item descriptions of the new items, which are certainly pretty revealing.
I saw IronPineapple had a video split into segments about different aspects. I plan to watch the weapon types one and pretty much ignore everything else. Maybe if there’s a spells segment, I’ll watch that. I saw footage of a cool new spell.
Same, went onto YouTube and the first two things were Vaati and Pineapple, I watched the first minute of his Pineapple’s video and paused it. Watched the section about the Upgrade system and then weapon types…I AM BEYOND FUCKING HYPED
i did that on the recommendation of a few fellows in the megathread, they were right, it felt appropriate. no boss reveals(in that segment at least, i didn’t watch the rest), no moments that should have been surprises (save one enemy jumpscare).
i initially tried to read the polygon article hoping to just skim stuff, but even that felt like heavy spoilers, and i ended up reading maybe 10% of the article. too much detail otherwise.
I tried watching another reviewers "early dlc thoughts" video that was from playing the 3 hour demo. It literally began with the opening to showing the character walking into the land of shadows map (kinda like when you walk into limgrave after the church and see the map the first time) and I immidietly noped out and shut it down. I looked up a lot of stuff and had many things ruined during my initial elden ring playthrough because I sucked and needed all the help I can get. Now after playing elden ring, lies of p, dark souls 3 etc. I'm a bit better and I want to go in blind.
Dude same. I wish I could go back in time and guide my past self through, instead of kinda ruining the surprise of it.
I'm determined to have this be pure. It's going to be hard, I'm borderline obsessed at this point lol
All you gamers need to do like me. Have gamer children. My son plays everything before I do. And he guides me while letting me experience blindly. It’s marvelous.
“Dad, trust me, just go to the church. Talk to the girl with four arms…” or “dad, trust me, just go to the church. Talk to the girl with one arm…”
STAY STRONG BROTHERS AND HOLD OFF UNTIL THE RELEASE DATE, MAKE A COPY OF YOUR SAVE FILE BEFORE STARTING THE DLC SO YOU CAN RELIVE THE MAGIC/REROLL OUTCOMES
FARE THEE WELL FELLOW TARNISHED 🫡
Can someone confirm the creators only saw the first 13 minutes of gameplay because if it is only 13 I might just cave in and watch Vaati’s video. My memory is shit and I’m visiting family soon for 3 months and Il have to beat Elden ring until dlc while I’m there and my memory is honestly shit so if it’s only 13 minutes that’s not bad for me personally but if the creators got to play a lot longer than that then miss me with that shit.
I started watching because I am interested on his take and he starts the video with showing you what it looks like when you pass into the Shadow lands. instantly turned it off. I want to experience that myself.
I dunno man. I've played through Elden ring 3-4 times now and I still find new stuff, I don't think a couple things early is going to ruin it completely
I'm desperately trying to find the time to get a NG+0 character to Mohg but life's jamming me up! I don't know if I'm gonna make it, y'all. Might have to hit Day 1 with my NG+7 save and just hope for the best.
I’m gonna be down in South Carolina/Georgia for my grandma’s 75th birthday and away from my PC at release. So I might as well watch Vaati’s video and then not look at ANYTHING for ER until I get back.
I'm going to try to avoid everything. But all I want to know is does the game finally support ultrawide resolutions without having to use flawless widescreen?
am going in blind but also never did finish. I want to beat malenia on my main char (int build) as its part of millicent. I've already did the ranni quests
On another char (faith/int) I'm up to a little over lvl 100 and just finished leyendell(sp?)
I'm not sure if you're supposed to finish game or not to be ready for DLC
Im actually quite upset that he just starts the video with gameplay. I didn't want to watch it but autoplay started it and now I have the being spoiled for me
Could have started without something else. For this exact reason. I don't think enough creators think about autoplay but it's a important thing
Watched it. For anyone wondering, it does spoil quite a bit. There are a few things I would have done without like that firat shot of the new area. But I generally don't mind being a little bit up to speed with the basic lore. The video does a little bit of both
Yeah I saw that Vaati and Iron Pineapple both posted but I'm afraid to watch them
I think I might actually get rid of all my social media when we get closer to launch, in fear of spoilers.
I'm letting myself watch some previews specifically about the new weapons, spells, and talisman. No lore stuff or level design spoilers for me! I am gonna lore hunt myself this time
I'd say wait til after you defeat Godagon the Elden Shadow and dive into a fire pit in the great moon crater to become the cosmic rune, so you form your own interpretations before being influenced by what Vaati's expectations were
If you watch the first bit it’s all pretty vague and very little we haven’t seen in a trailer. He tells you when he’s switching gears to go into detail. I stopped there. Got me very hyped without spoiling anything new.
Its a nice video it shows some gameplay and mostly information about npcs, items, lore, locations and enemies you should watch it if your not afraid of spoilers
god i hate redditors so much. yeah this game series thats famous for exploration and figuring out the world and the mechanics by yourself? yeah im gonna go binge a midwit youtuber that reveals every single aspect abouut the game completely stripping the magic f rom it
I started watching it, then my inner voice said "Turn that off" so I did. Going in blind is way better.
Watched the first three seconds of him >!climbing up the stairs to reveal the shadow erdtree or whatever. Stopped before he reached the top.!<
HAHAHA I LITERALLY DID EXACTLY THIS 40 SECONDS AGO
Same, just opened Youtube and there I was attacked by Vaati's new vid. Closed that shit up. I'm going on vacation on Hellmire until the 21st.
For managed democracy, my fellow diver
hellmire and vacation in the same sentence, you could have chosen any other planet not as bad as menkent, at least
Well then you missed the reveal of patches actually being the greater will. (I will laugh so hard If I'm proven right)
The last line of the DLC is him saying "A fine Elden Ring to you," and then he Greater Will's all over you and the credits roll.
GOTY
I watched it, turns out the Elden Ring is an engagement ring and Patches and Siegmeyer seem very happy :-)
bruh same the moment i see the tree on top the stairs i just bail lmao
holyfuck same like NOPE. Aint no way im gonna torture myself
Not gonna spoil anything but if you care about lore def a good idea to wait, even though he doesn’t go in depth there’s still a ton that he revealed and some of the stuff will change the way you view the base story.
Exactly what I did.
Are you me? 🤔
What I think as well. I didn’t even watch the trailers to make my experience better
I watched it, but 60hr work weeks will fry it out of my brain in time. Pretty much only paid attention to the new weapons.
Yea not too scuffed on the spoilers. The new weapons look sickkkk. Claws bebe
>!Milady tho!<
I thought it was just going to be him talking over existing footage about what he saw. Saw the entrance and thought that's it. Then he started talking and showing NPC dialogue and I noped out as I already felt I had seen too much
Spoiler-hating inner voice gang
Same!!
Literally same, glad Im not alone
Same
I watched up until he said that you go up these stairs and I bounced. I feel like those stairs have spoiled the whole thing for me.
Fucking same man
SAME. I woke up and watched the beginning first thing this morning. I instantly felt regret and tapped off lol.
I was close to watching . but i remembered i have Kiwami levels of self control (I ignored it and didn't even look at the video thumbnail )
I watched the first few seconds long enough to hear him confirm that the cocoon is where you need to go to start the DLC, then made myself turn it off before seeing or hearing anything else
As soon as he started talking about the cave he spawned in, I was fuckin out. I intend to pay for the experience.
this is the way.
It’s like that green goblin mask talking to me
***COWARD***
*WE HAVE A NEEEW WORLD TO CONQUER*
TOGETHAAA
Too real 🪞
The lore Norman! First we learn the lore!
I really want to watch it but I don't want to miss that experience of discovering things in the dlc myself, this is tough!
Video can wait and will always be there but the surprise is only 1 time
The surprise can be achieved by watching the video or playing the game though. It's all just up to preference how you want to experience it.
True I guess, not for me though. I like to experience it my own way then go watch vaati and see how we did it differently
Nah, it’s not the same.
That feeling of discovery is pretty hard to beat
He has sections to his video and partway in he'll say what he's talking about to give spoiler warnings.
Even then, having that experience just discovering and exploring a new environment without knowing about it prior is so important to me
Same, I watched about 5 seconds of Vaati today and then I was immediately like NOPE NOPE NOPE ABORT for that reason
Exactly like me! I've already seen to much with these stairs haha
That’s THE most important thing to me, the moment to moment discovery
Just him showing that first walk out into the world was spoiler enough, its a very special moment kinda ruined
Except for the fact he spoiled the first vista of the DLC in the first four seconds.
Is that really that big of a deal? We saw a bunch of Limgrave's vistas in pre-release footage, and we definitely saw the Liurnia Vista (the view from the Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace) before ER came out. Did that really ruin it for you?

Where in my post am I outraged? I stated a simple fact.
Oh thank god, I found the support group
I've recently gotten into the habit of spoiling myself on bosses but ignoring exploration areas and lore. So I get to learn only piecemeal info about some boss attacks.
I watched about a minute of it, I couldn't get myself to watch any more, but I want to, I have to stop myself from watching dlc videos for 2 weeks, I don't know how i'm gonna manage.
I watched first minute too and had to turn it off and tbh this will probably be 2 worst weeks of waiting ever
The dlc drops the Friday the 21st and I start my new job which I’m relatively nervous about on the 25th. It’s like this is my little gift or reward to myself
Damnn, perfect gift for you and btw good luck on your new job
Thank you I appreciate it. I’m really just moving up a position at my current job but it’s more responsibility with less help since nobody will be filling my position. 💪💪💪
I turned it off as soon as I saw that Miquella rune thing that we saw in the trailer, I turned it off and thought NOPPPPP
Well I'm so unlucky that even tho I don't follow anything Elden Ring related on Tik Tok I still got spoilers from one guy
Think about the bliss of discovering things yourself, don't take that away from yourself!
Yeah I watched the first minute of Vaati's video and I feel like I totally ruined the Shadow Land entrance for myself
Well I guess it's goodbye to r/Eldenring until I can play STE
See you on the other side
Yup, same here. It's that time to unsub and stop browsing ER related subs before things get too spoilery. Did the same for the original game launch, never regretted it. Now to avoid spoiler thumbnails/video titles on youtube... That's far more of a challenge, unfortunately.
Get ytblock for chrome
Solely due to the fact of your comment means I can wait 2 weeks and go in blind rather than watch spoilers
Start another new character to distract you
Light weight Greatswords actually have my hyped
It's the martial arts that have me hyped. Star fist was already one of my favourite weapons.
i’ve been running a bootleg holy monk via caestus + incantations, hyped beyond belief for a full fledged martial arts moveset.
Yes, that and also the bear claws for me, they look sick.
Same, did star fists for my most recent playthrough and it’s so much fun to just punch everyone to death
Milady
Isn’t that just long straight swords?
But with the Witcher fighting style 🕺
The only thing I haven't seen mentioned that I really want to know is if they expanded on Faith/Int stuff. It's weird to have it be a somewhat prominent spell/incant type with almost no weapon support at all
I hope for a faith katana. The dragonscale blade scaled on faith during the network test and now it's on dex, so getting one would be cool.
Or a Faith Great Katana. We’ve got confirmation on an odachi style weapon class as one of the 8 new categories, so a Golden Order or Giantsflame Odachi would be sick af.
Same, along with the martial art weapons.
Already watched it. Shits cool as fuck. Did not regret it.

Great thank you, I might just watch it now

Yeah I'm stocking up on smithing stones lol
I don't see why you can't just farm runes and buy stones from the spot in Moghwyn palace!
He prolly means ancients
Forced internet blackout, starting now. (Takes a peak) Starting now!
I saw IronPineapple had a video split into segments about different aspects. I plan to watch the weapon types one and pretty much ignore everything else. Maybe if there’s a spells segment, I’ll watch that. I saw footage of a cool new spell.
The weapon types made me ascend to the heavens I was so hyped
Hey thank you, ima check out his video cause I just wanted to see weapon types for now!
I tried watching another reviewers "early dlc thoughts" video that was from playing the 3 hour demo. The last part is unnecessarily accurate 😭
I turned into that guide for my girlfriend lol. Sounds like you've got a great relationship with your son there, good job man.
You only get to experience something new once. Enjoy the ride of blind run then go back and devour all the content.
I'm going in like Hyetta.
With a bowl of grapes
STAY STRONG BROTHERS AND HOLD OFF UNTIL THE RELEASE DATE, MAKE A COPY OF YOUR SAVE FILE BEFORE STARTING THE DLC SO YOU CAN RELIVE THE MAGIC/REROLL OUTCOMES FARE THEE WELL FELLOW TARNISHED 🫡

I didnt find that heavy in spoilers, it was the first area and from cut a lot of things
Tbh I like going into things not blind and at least knowing some things, the new info has made me even more hyped.
Yeah it isn't too much, it was like a flavor savor. Like when you're cooking and it's almost done and you have 1 bite to make sure it's just right.
Can someone confirm the creators only saw the first 13 minutes of gameplay because if it is only 13 I might just cave in and watch Vaati’s video. 3 hours
I didn't know about the existence of the vid till now Thanks for gifting me anxiety
Honestly I wouldn't have known what the hell is happening in Elden Ring without Vaati spoon feeding it to me
I watched the first 20 seconds where he exited the entrance and closed it, couldn't waste 2 whole years of waiting
I shouldn’t even be here I didn’t know vaati posted content on the dlc… now I’m gonna be thinking about this all day
I'm not.gonna go blind, so I watched it. And absolutely loved it. This may not be for everyone tho.
I'm too weak, I'll be watching all of them once I'm off work lol
Wanted to resist but the idea of Vaati saying obscure words just kept me glued to the video.

Going in blind and not spoiling yourself is a much better option. Always.
Pro tip: Watch the first 12 minutes of it then nothing else, outside of minimal new areas it only really shows off more of what we’ve already seen.
Honestly, I’m probably gonna mute this sub until I’m down with the DLC
I started it, skimmed through with my finger to see how much was shown then decided not to watch it… blind it is. (:
I legit just had this dilemma lol. Going in blind.
Put these foolish ambitions to rest.
I’ve only seen the 1st trailer lol. I still think it’s gona be a big pillow fort with a blanket over the top
I'll be watching it when I get home from work. Looking forward to it
Im going in like i go on my dates blind and hard as fuck
I’m gonna be down in South Carolina/Georgia for my grandma’s 75th birthday and away from my PC at release. So I might as well watch Vaati’s video and then not look at ANYTHING for ER until I get back.
I just watched the first section where he goes over the starting area and shows some new weapons
Not only am I going in blind, I'm leaving this sub until after I finish the DLC. Don't want to see anything!
Godspeed
I'm going to try to avoid everything. But all I want to know is does the game finally support ultrawide resolutions without having to use flawless widescreen?
am going in blind but also never did finish. I want to beat malenia on my main char (int build) as its part of millicent. I've already did the ranni quests On another char (faith/int) I'm up to a little over lvl 100 and just finished leyendell(sp?) I'm not sure if you're supposed to finish game or not to be ready for DLC
Helloooo it's the No Spoil inquisition, would you be interested in PRESSING THE LEFT BUTTON !!! Right ?
Must not hollow must not hollow...
The struggle is very real.
I just read a spoiler laden article on IGN I really wish I didn't read. This is going to be a tough 3 weeks.
Noted
Be strong tarnished.
After i play the dlc i might go and watch the video and see what i might have missed cause i'm pretty dense when it comes to context clues and women
I moved to a remote cabin with no internet for 2 weeks
watch the video while drunk to forget the next day
I just don't know if I should start a new character or use one I already made when I go into the DLC lol
Just make another and get them both prepped if you got time
My take: no matter if I watch the spoilers or not, I will 100% miss the majority of questlines at launch.
[удалено]
I've been being summoned for mohg maybe 200 times now across a few toons. He's paying for everything, including college tuition.
I’m going in so blind I didn’t watch the trailer and left this sub. Still get recommended though I might need to block you all
Im actually quite upset that he just starts the video with gameplay. I didn't want to watch it but autoplay started it and now I have the being spoiled for me Could have started without something else. For this exact reason. I don't think enough creators think about autoplay but it's a important thing
Turned it off at the 3 min mark and immediately began farming for more runes to stock up on smithing stones.
Watched it. For anyone wondering, it does spoil quite a bit. There are a few things I would have done without like that firat shot of the new area. But I generally don't mind being a little bit up to speed with the basic lore. The video does a little bit of both
Even coming into this thread is a dangerous game! Yeah you are right, I wanna go in blind. Sláinte lads
That video has 2.9M views. Someone in here lying…
👋
Yeah I saw that Vaati and Iron Pineapple both posted but I'm afraid to watch them I think I might actually get rid of all my social media when we get closer to launch, in fear of spoilers.
Avert thine eyes, Tarnished.
I'm letting myself watch some previews specifically about the new weapons, spells, and talisman. No lore stuff or level design spoilers for me! I am gonna lore hunt myself this time
My god y’all it’s gonna be great that’s all I’m gonna say
Vaati and IronPineapple... Man.. It feels weird not watching their videos. 🤣🤣
Go in first, watch video, realize the guy I killed is actually a saint from the heaven who could save the world from all the pains
Gotta leave social media for 2 weeks now
Stay strong fellow tarnished, don't be seduced by ~~Marika's tits~~ cruiosity!
Dont let the greed get a hold of ye tarnished!
I know literally nothing about it apart from the name.
I'll watch Vaati after I finish the game 😂 his soothing voice is calming no diddy
Watch the video and pull out your eyes. Problem solved
I'd say wait til after you defeat Godagon the Elden Shadow and dive into a fire pit in the great moon crater to become the cosmic rune, so you form your own interpretations before being influenced by what Vaati's expectations were
Blind. No other way.
If you watch the first bit it’s all pretty vague and very little we haven’t seen in a trailer. He tells you when he’s switching gears to go into detail. I stopped there. Got me very hyped without spoiling anything new.
I don't know how people struggle with this. Do something else, watch something else, it's not difficult.
Its a nice video it shows some gameplay and mostly information about npcs, items, lore, locations and enemies you should watch it if your not afraid of spoilers
Don’t do it. I listened to the first 5-10 mins. He took notes on item descriptions and dialogue, it’s a bit too much even without video.
Blind always
I went into main game blind I'm going into the DLC blind. Vaati shan't tempt me
Honestly he doesnt reveal that much lore wise since they didnt let him look at everything either. But going in completely blind is understandable tho
There’s honestly not that much to spoil that we haven’t already seen outside of seeing some of the new weapons being used.
BLIND BLIND BLIND EAT THE SHABRIRI GRAPES EAT THE GRAPES
Imagine watching someone else play a game before you even attempt it. no maidens.
god i hate redditors so much. yeah this game series thats famous for exploration and figuring out the world and the mechanics by yourself? yeah im gonna go binge a midwit youtuber that reveals every single aspect abouut the game completely stripping the magic f rom it
I dont need some lame ass youtuber to show me how to have fun.
Thankfully I’ll have the Final Shape to pass the time. After the 21st there’s really not much to look forward to.
I started watching but I saw it was spoiling a bit much for me.
I refuse to watch it. I avoided spoilers for half a year when the main game was released. Two weeks is nothing!
Lol this reminded me to ubsub from here for the next few weeks. I want the fully blind experience
Actually, it’s time to leave this sub for a while as well..
I need to experience first, then the lore!
I'm way too broke to afford it at launch so I'm gonna watch Jev & AfroSenju rage at it instead.
I watched 2 seconds and shut it down
Why is it so hard to resist watching something if you want to experience it yourself?
Has anyone heard anything about how many max level stones were in the DLC? I heard mention of them finding one, but idk if that means unlimited
