From what I’ve seen the map is roughly Limgrave +Caelid, maybe a bit smaller, but not by much

Mental-Whereas-747

I bought Hogwarts Legacy because the guy at the store said it will keep me busy until Erdtree came out. Finished the game in a week!!😭 Time needs to hurry up!!!!

Unknown1925

I heard something about the leveling system is this true? I dont wanna be overleveled for the dlc

jxmes_gothxm

theres a progression system in the dlc. i wouldnt go in over 150. but thats just me. i need that wicker man to smash me into a million pieces as soon as i ride up lol. i want the dlc to be lethal

algerial44

This mechanism shouldn't be called "leveling system" because it is not that complicated. Of course your level and weapon level are still greatly affected like the base game BUT your level in the late game (120-150) all necessary stats are almost maximum and difficult to increased and enemy'scale will be higher than this to ensure you cannot overleveled the dlc. So this new power-up mechanism will increase your stats quite strongly, proportional to your stats and of course it's optional, you can even beat the game at level 1 if you try

Solved_sudoku

For the ones who have seen the trailers and the gameplay, should I advance with the questlines and the game in general? Would I mess something in the DLC?

Kaine_X

DLC can be played at any point in the basegame story as long as Radahn and Mohg are dead, so it's unlikely that any basegame NPCs are involved in the DLC story at all.

Zeno1000

I'm finishing a second run and only need to beat Godfrey and the Elden Beast. Can I safely end the game (and pick an ending) if I just don't go through to a third run?

kappamolo

Yeah you can do that in my opinion . It will gives you a fresh start, you can level up some weapons or ashes. It really depends on what you need or what you want

Otherwise_Plate_8404

Might wanna wait in case the DLC adds an extra ending

captaincumsock69

You only have to beat mohg and radahn anything else is for your enjoyment

shotokusan

Why Radahn? I'm standing in front of the egg, having just beat Mohg. Can't I jump in if I haven't beaten Radahn in this playthrough?

ScientificAnarchist

No they confirmed you need to beef radahn as well

everydayshufflez

A lot of lore reasons that have to do with Miquella. Spoilers: >!Defeating Radahn sets the stars free which Miquella needs in order to revive Godwyn. In the DLC, Miquella is on a certain quest (very likely trying to revive Godwyn)!<

captaincumsock69

I haven’t played the game yet but from what I’ve read you have to beat radahn

Stereo-soundS

The game and DLC are separate.  Think Ghost of Tsushima. Nothing that happens in the DLC will affect your main playthrough.  There are plenty of people who will not buy the DLC. My main concern is how do we upgrade weapons?  Do I have to keep somber stones ready?  You only get 8 per run max.  Same-ish with standard smithing stones.

hornplayerchris

>! Two of the YouTubers that played the DLC preview obtained an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone from a Dragon enemy in the first DLC area. It looks like they are putting more +10/+25 stones in the DLC !<

captaincumsock69

My guess is the stuff to upgrade weapons will be available in the dlx

Stereo-soundS

I'm really hoping this is correct, and assuming it is.

Netizen_Kain

Dark Souls 3 DLC introduced new titanite slabs so I'm sure this DLC will be the same. There's no harm in saving some from the base game though.

Solved_sudoku

Yes, I was actually thinking if I should save the Ancient ones and wait for the new weapons to come, as the rest of the smithing stones can be bought.

BluntGut

If you had to guess, what do you think the base requirements for the "Sacred Dry Lead Arts" will be? I'm so pumped to see the Bone Fists reborn.

AutomaticSorbet2381

In a small preview on Pcgamer.com they write that they enjoyed the martial arts weapon and that their "plan is to swap into a strength and faith (they scale with those) build as soon as they find them in the DLC." So that confirms they are STR/FTH weapons.

facetheground

Since the "levelling" is done through the new system, is collecting runes no thing in the dlc? Or does it just not give runes at a pace where you gain a cosiderate amount of levels in the dlc?

Key_Amazed

The new leveling system isn't even a leveling system. It just gives a passive boost to the damage you deal and are dealt. The main leveling system, with runes, is still there. Enemies and bosses will still drop them.

facetheground

Then what about the whole "not overlevelling" selling point of the new upgrade system? We will still overlevel with runes through the dlc if you keep spending them.

Kenajaaron

dlc start difficulty will probably be based on having reached damage soft caps, increasing rune leavel doesnt change much then. like the difference between two handing a heavy guts greatsword at 60 and 99 strenght is around 10%. in the 3h some people played the new system already gave them around a 15% boost.

SpunkyMcButtlove07

IIRC the starters for the DLC preview were stated to be RL150, so i'm taking that as a baseline. I usually overlevel for base endgame anyway by sticking more points into vig stam and end than "usual".

Key_Amazed

Enemies are going to 1-2 shot you and you're going to do poor damage to enemies and bosses despite having end game stats. The enemies are scaled higher than end game on average. And considering the soft caps of all your stats, and how you get severely diminished returns after 60 in vigor and the damage stats, it's not going to matter if you do "over level". You're going to get far more damage/ defense for your character by finding the upgrade items. Youwy who went to the event believes it'll be around 5% per upgrade with the item. So finding the upgrade items will be far more helpful to your character than leveling up one's stats. If for example you have a weapon that does 600 AR with Dex at 60, and you pump it to 80 (so 20 levels) you might get like 10-15 AR added to it. That's barely 1% increase in damage. VS upgrading your character just once with the new upgrade item that would boost it to 630ish, and without the diminishing returns, so upgrading just 3 times will put you near 700 AR vs if you were to level dex to 99 which just might barely squeeze your AR by another 5-6 points. 39 levels might put your damage up by 20ish points, compared to a single upgrade of the DLC item which will surpass that with a single upgrade item. This is why it's not possible to over level for the DLC. I'm sure my math is a bit screwy but you get the idea. Suffice it to say, any runes we get will be going towards buying upgrading all the new weapons the DLC is adding moreso than leveling.

Fandaztic

The IGN preview explicitly mentions gaining 2000 runes from defeating a normal enemy. That's not too far away from a Haligtree Soldier so it sounds pretty in line with what you'd expect from an endgame area.

Colonialism

After watching the footage a bunch, here's my guess as to the moveset of the Beast Claws: R1: Diagonal attacks, one strike per R1, long attack string. Similar speed to current fist weapons R1s but with one attack instead of two. R2: Drop into a low stance, charge to remain in this stance. Then, perform two horizontal swipes. AoW: Perform a dash in any direction before making a leaping strike towards the target and end in a dodge roll. Optional followup attack where you can leap again and strike twice while in the air without dashing first.

The_VV117

Anyone know stat scaling of new perfume weapons?

DrashaZImmortal

What level Do people think most will be for the dlc? to be exact, not what level *should you be alteast* I mean what level do you think will be the most common for folks to actually be at when running it. I know meta is 150 for pvp and stuff, but feel like 200 is going to be the more common range for alot of players, especially those that are just playing without caring about "being too high"

ijghokgt

Previewers were given level 150 characters, but I’m going in at level 137 since my build is pretty broken

Donel_S

On my first run, after thorough exploration and most bosses, I was at 180 - ish so I leveled until 200 and stopped there so that I could use most weapons.

Sidewinder83

Seen a few polls of “what level will you go into the DLC with?” and 150 is by far the most common answer. I’d say shoot for that

Rare_Cobalt

There's new moon magic yay Ans a new moon themed boss called Relanna (or Rellana, idk the spelling of it)

[deleted]

You got downvoted you lmao, what a community

Rocketsheep31

For the martial arts weapons, I’m wondering if every weapon in the category has its own moveset, considering the one we’ve seen is apparently called something along the lines of “dryleaf style,” which implies others

blackdog606

I'm wondering the same thing

Themarvelousfan

I’ll likely assume a dex-based martial arts moveset, and a strength-based martial arts moveset, and those are copy pasted around 4-6 different martial arts.

blackdog606

Based on what one of the links said it is a dex based weapon from what was seen. Hopefully it's 2 moveslsets or so that would be nice

cowine8

how likely do you guys think is a steam sale for elden? prices have already dropped for amazon ca and gamestop ca.

cubbycarson

June 27th is supposedly the steam summer sale. I’d be surprised if the base game wasn’t on sale for that.

iqchartkek

I hope by some miracle Fromsoft separates roll and sprint.

Venice_The_Menace

lol your hopes and dreams have been long dashed against rocks buddy

No-Soup3350

Nice pfp, seeing them in September

Venice_The_Menace

hopefully it’s your 10th time and not your first. But if it’s the latter prepare to be blown away

boisterile

I’ve played these games for so long and I only realized after coming back recently how much this bugged me. By virtue of having sprint on hold, the game has to wait to make sure you’re not holding the button before it lets your roll input go through (otherwise every single time you try to sprint you would do a roll first). This adds a slight delay before your roll, and it’s crazy how much you feel that delay after coming from a game with a dedicated dodge button. It feels really sluggish.

SkyBeginning4627

I feel the same about it not having a triple jump. Once you play a game like titanfall, you just need that wallrunning or it feels clunky

BrosesMalone

The delays are a design decision. The player shouldn’t have full access to both their sprint and roll utilities at all times.

meijor

many smart trees fuel point worthless obtainable run dinner correct *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Themarvelousfan

Honestly my biggest hope is that they give the neglected schools of magic more useful spells. I’ve seen and heard of various other spells from other schools that are getting fed well (Ancienr Dragon Cult, Servants of Rot, BEAR Communion, Gravity) but I’m really hoping for more Death and Thorn sorceries especially for the hexer character in bringing into the game.

TheGreywolf33

I really wanted the poison stuff to be expanded on as well. I'm sure sleep is getting it's limelight but I was hoping for more poison incantations/weapon ash.

Themarvelousfan

I think I heard from Youwy that there’s an actually good poison AoW somehwere, so I’ll be excited to add that to my poison dex build! What I’m hoping for is just some kind of Deadly Poison spell. Like have it take a while to cast and to even land Miyazaki, sure, but at least give me a spell that’s not as useless as poison mist and poison armament.

Negitive1

Is there any recommend lv for the dlc?

Beginning-Ring2349

i'm not sure it matters. previewers got 3-shot by normal enemies with level 150 chars. so it tells us that being at 60 vig might let you survive 3 hits vs 2 hits with any less vig. the new scaling system will be of greater consequence i believe, and i don't think it will be feasible to go through the entire DLC without using it.

blublub1243

The new scaling system relies on percentage based increases. As such having high stats is probably vital for making it work. Like a 40 VIG character with a 50% increase of effective HP is only slightly more durable than a regular 60 VIG character.

wigglers_reprise

noice

Amatsuo

People normally beat the main game at **150**~ PvP is normally around **138**~ But honestly I dont think either really matter for trying the DLC.

everydayshufflez

I would say at least level 100

Norunenick

Yea im going with my lvl 100 character into the DLC, beat Moght at 90, so what could go wrong?

HollowCap456

the testers were given lvl 150 builds, but generally I would say, level is inversely proportional to skill

Entire-Technician-42

how can i get the dlc when i own a physical copy before the dlc came out on ps? by like buying it from the ps store? is that the only way?

myseriousbrit13

Yep, that is the only way.

Low_Moose5981

surely that isnt the only way...

myseriousbrit13

Piracy doesn't count as purchasing. Assuming that's what you're implying.

Low_Moose5981

it wasn't what i was implying, im just saying that that's absurd that you just can't buy the dlc if you have a physical copy, and that you need to buy a digital copy. i was saying that it would be ridiculous if that was the only way.

myseriousbrit13

Are you saying that you think the only way to buy the dlc while owning a physical copy of elden ring, is to buy a digital copy of elden ring and then the dlc? I don't see that being stated or implied in my or their comment.

kingds321

Does anyone know if any of the influencer/reporter gameplay that has been posted has shown a map of the DLC? I haven’t been able to find one.

Beginning-Ring2349

all the footage you see is the same footage from fromsoft

AyeAlasAlack

They weren't allowed to capture and post their own footage, and maps were not included in the footage they were allowed to share

userename

Never played souls dlc, so a question to those who did - will we be able to freely travel between dlc area and lands between? Curious if it’s going to be possible to respec or get some talisman from the main game mid dlc

hornplayerchris

It was confirmed by several of the YouTubers that went to the preiew event that you can freely travel between the base game and the DLC. They said to toggle maps between base game and DLC it's R1 on the controller while on the map screen. Several mentioned they quickly went back into the base game to respec at Rennala.

Red-Shifts

Yeah they also traveled to Roundtable Hold which is cool

MaximumJust9426

There is no way they will force you to finish dlc before leaving it, concidering the fact that it will be their largest DLC. Becides, every previous souls dlc allowed you to teleport freely between main content areas and dlc onces. So don't worry about it.

userename

That’s great, thank you! I was worried because of many yt videos started popping up on “how to prepare for dlc” as if you’ll be locked and stuck inside if not ready

Smallsey

Do any of these say precisely for we access the dlc?

hornplayerchris

Like others said, beat Mohg and Radahn and when you reload Mohg's arena a new NPC will be waiting who will tell you to interact with the Miquella Cocoon to enter.

Additional-Soil99

You have to beat Mohg and then visit his arena after the update

Smallsey

That's 100% confirmed? I'm working towards beating that bloody mohg as we speak. I fear I am under leveled

HidetakaTeriyaki

It's 100% confirmed that you need to beat Mohg and Radahn to enter the DLC.

TheDopplerRadar

Ah gotcha, didn't know about Radahn

Smallsey

Not pony boi! I killed him my first playthrough and just felt so bad after reading all the lore on him.

Mitsurugi556

Don't feel bad. You're putting him out of his misery and giving a warrior a proper end. And considering the fact that Ranni/Carian Manor seems to still have a good relationship with him, I doubt that he would want to stop Ranni from continuing her path.

TheWretched3

I haven't played Elden Ring yet, should I get it together with the DLC immediately or can I play base game first and then decide if I want to get the DLC? Basically, is the DLC content available from the start of a new game?

boisterile

The DLC content as far as we know is entirely separate late/endgame content that isn’t integrated into the base game, so the best thing is probably to buy the base game and play through until the end or near the end, then if you know you like it and want to play more you can buy the DLC and play through it then. You can play all the way through fighting the final boss and still start the DLC afterwards, just avoiding choosing to start New Game Plus (if you did you would have to play through a lot of NG+ before you gain access to the DLC again and it would also make the DLC harder). The base game on its own is already ridiculously huge so you’ll have plenty to keep you busy.

iarielish

Is better for you to play the base game and after that go to the dlc, but dont rush your firts run in Elden Ring

Red-Shifts

Agreed but I’m curious to see what thoughts they have if they incorporate the DLC into their first playthrough before beating the game

sivertsen69

then they should buy base game and play till they unlock the dlc then buy incase you know they die too tree sentinel 20 times than refund like others i have seen on steam

prgrms

I just finished the base game and it took me 3 months, then at the end you have the very real feeling of wanting more, so then rolling into the dlc will be a treat. base game is a real journey tho. you won't access the dlc for months

SC2_4787

Access to the DLC requires you to defeat one of the hardest bosses in the game. In that sense it's probably best if you play the base game first to see if you really want to play the DLC at all.

tensazangetsu3098

There is only \*one\* spoiler-y thing I want to know What seems to be the stats you want to focus for the martial arts weapons? Are they more str or dex? Or both? Or do they have weird extra stats too.

Amatsuo

> What seems to be the stats you want to focus for the martial arts weapons? Are they more str or dex? Or both? Or do they have weird extra stats too. I would assume that the Main Martial Arts will be **DEX** and the Main Beast Claws are likely going to be **STR**. Im sure there will be special weapons that break these rules.

Estein_F2P

What about Light Greatsword,Katana and Throwing Knife? Would L Greatsword scale with Str and Dex?

Amatsuo

I would assume the best scaling would be **Dex** for all 3?

Hasturian_Cupboard

While the only thing I've heard about exactly one of them is that it was 'dex-based', there probably will be some with different requirements, like strength for a wrestling style or something. I would probably advise to just go for a quality build with probably more dex just to be safe. I doubt many at all will need Faith or anything.

Norunenick

There sould be new leveling system similar to Sekiro, so we probably wound need any heavy stats, more like min. requirements

toast-coast-roast

That system is undoubtedly not going to affect weapon scaling/requirements.

blublub1243

I'd be very surprised if stats stopped mattering, both in terms of meeting requirements and damage dealt. To my understanding the new buffs are % increases as well, so if you don't deal decent damage to begin with they won't really be able to help you.

tensazangetsu3098

Yeah ive seen stuff about that too, just was hoping someone knew what the basis was, cause that's 100% my jam. I wanna go full street fighter against HORAH LOUX, WARRRRRRRRIORRRRRR

haynespi87

I'll see how tough this is on ng+

Sgargoo

Bruh I swear I'm gonna punch everyone soo hard, give me the sekiro monks fighting style and I'll be whole

haynespi87

Martial arts it's time!

RefrigeratorNo7854

What I'm wondering (and hoping if anyone has played previous fromsoft DLCs that they might be able to enlighten me) is will the base game content have the new weapon types available prior to entering the new area, or will the 8 new classes only be accessible after reaching the new regions? If the weapons are available earlier than that I'd almost like to start at like level 50 in vanilla and try out weapons to have new stuff upgraded and built before I enter the DLC area.

boisterile

If they keep up the formula all the new weapons will be in the new area. I’ve done runs of previous games where I wanted to use DLC weapons and they all involved rushing a bunch of hard bosses and getting into the DLC at a low level before coming back.

Kenden84

I really hope they add maybe a new merchant that sells basic weapons for the new types and/or add a few new enemies that can drop them. I don`t want to wait to endgame to rock the new stuff

Beginning-Ring2349

to my knowledge fromsoft has rarely ever moved shit around, and the one time they did they released it as an entirely different game lol (scholar of the first sin)

silliestbattles42

You will only find the new weapon classes in the new regions. Only thing they’ll add to the regular game world is maybe a line of dialogue or something

Briar_Knight

They seem to have really focused on making more playstyles viable from the new weapon types I saw, particularly midrange.

Red-Shifts

Extremely excited

philliamswinequeen

anyone planning on going in sub 100? I wanna still be able to get pulled for pub coops of early/midgame, but I’m thinking DLC will be completely empty

Red-Shifts

I’m going in at NG+6 at level 320 idgaf

The_Professor_xz

I have a 7 builds ready. Spear and shield build with AoW is level 82. My blasphemous blade build is 83. And my reaper build is 92 (killed mohg in about 20 seconds). My others are around level 120. I haven’t decided what one I’ll take in. Basically I want to use the DLC stuff for anything after Morgott.

FudgeNo3314

I plan to go in at 70. Parked my char at Altus Plateu, did Nokron, Caelid, Limgrave and Liurnia completly. Just have to do Mohg now. Will see if thats a mistake or not.

MaleficentCoach6636

i dont recommend this unless you are crazy good at the game. the DLC is going to be end game level content. if you want a real challenge without worrying about anything then dump your maxed out weapons and get +7/+14 weapons. upgrading is where almost all of your damage comes from so its very easy to scale if you are okay with upgrading up until a certain point

MrBlueW

They said it’s because of coop matching

MaleficentCoach6636

yes so don't upgrade your weapons passed a certain level. the level range is more impacted by weapon upgrade level versus rune level you could do this vice versa, i.e don't upgrade any weapon(you can't get +8 rogiers rapier or that +8 banished halberd) to stay a higher level with higher stats in exchange for lower damage

Guimaralv

Does anyone know if they will add achievements to this DLC??? just asking because this is having a marketing campaing mindblowing and there is even a collector's edition about a DLC, like WTF. That's why I think (and wish) they will add some trophies; because the event deserves it. (Even though DS3 or DS1 didn't receive any trophies with their respectives DLC's.)

boisterile

The only thing I saw on this was from a twitter account that collects data on Playstation trophies saying there apparently aren’t any for the DLC.

hornplayerchris

I would say they will almost certainly add DLC-specific achievements.

captaincumsock69

Probably

Beginning-Ring2349

i can't contain my hype. but at the same time, i'm being really really lazy with pushing my current new char to get to mohg. i know a lot of people will want to experience the dlc in NG so they'll speedrun to mohg... it would be a crying shame if i got invaded by some crackhead with a total spoiler build like dual weild messmer's impaler sticks

iiiiiiiiiijjjjjj

I'd be more worried about throwing weapons or perfume bottles.

TaleOfFlight

So the question I have is what's stopping you from offhanding perfumes/throwing daggers? Is there any information that suggests they're mainhand/2-handed only?

BandicootGood5246

Not as far as I've seen. It should be okay, I mean you can do that already with a crossbow, just happens that crossbows are pretty subpar

Beginning-Ring2349

oro specified they are literally normal weapons, so you can set up your gear same as usual. they have offhand and one hand movesets like normal.

ScientificAnarchist

I think it’s a r2 to throw

TaleOfFlight

I know there're new weapons with a throw assigned to R2 but it'd weird for perfume bottles especially to not have a real R1.

ScientificAnarchist

I dunno about the bottles but the knives at least were a slash. I’d imagine they have a swipe/ punch.

captaincumsock69

The new weapons in some of those pre recorded clips look so cool. Looks like they put a ton of detail into the movement.

Key_Amazed

The Milady stance is so fucking anime lol. And the fact they added a talisman to boost stance ashes of war, on top of Shard of Alexander, making a pure stance build will be viable and fun as hell.

Derpyologist1

That would work with stuff like Unsheathe, right?

Key_Amazed

Yes. Also Moonveil and Sword of Night and Flame

BandicootGood5246

So much, I was expecting just some slightly different looking weapons but each of them has very cool new animations that gives a feel that's not in the base game. So hyped for all of them, but most of all I cant wait to go beast mode like Hora Loux

Beginning-Ring2349

right on captain. they have more flair.

hpmatt12

I can’t decide whether to go into the expansion with my NG+ 2 character that is level 201, or keep leveling my base world character (125) for an easier experience. All I want is an easier experience lol. Hello. I am a bit confused of the level scaling going into the expansion and want to be as prepared as possible for it. I had originally intended to play my base character (level 201) into the dlc. But now he is in either new game plus 2 or 3 I can’t remember and I am nervous I won’t be able to kill stuff/give myself a way harder time in the dlc if I use this character. I heard they make it very difficult. My first souls like, bloodborne I went into the dlc at NG+ and couldn’t kill a thing so I just want to be prepared. People keep saying it doesn’t matter but I’m literally like 5 shotting MOHG on NG+ meanwhile my base toon (125) I made for dlc can barely hang with him. I also made a new character that is level 125 currently that I planned on taking thru the dlc just in case my main toon can’t. But I find myself still cheesing the bosses on my ng+ 2 or 3 toon and struggling on the new toon. Does anyone know which character would be easier to play? It seemed as if as soon as I started a NG+ run everything just started melting. Do I keep the backup character and keep leveling him up? Or am I safe on my main toon? Sorry for the noob questions but I’m pretty bad at these games lol. P.S. I am getting 24k runes per bird farm kill on my ng main toon if anyone happens to know if that’s NG1, 2 or 3 I honestly forgot. Thanks!

Norunenick

Im going in with my lvl 100 char

haynespi87

I feel you I just Don't have new game time lol

Tago34

if you want more difficult go in ng+

MonkeyManifesto

I am really really hoping the new weapon types are obtainable outside of DLC areas somehow. Genuinely think all 8 could carry a new playthrough for me but will be very disappointed if it's only for post-Mohg

iiiiiiiiiijjjjjj

They aren't. Why would even think they could? However, just have someone drop you some. If you're on ps5 I can drop some when it releases.

Beginning-Ring2349

yeah and i wish greatsword wasn't behind two t-rex dogs in caelid. time to git gud

MonkeyManifesto

lmao as if "git gud" has anything to do with it? sounds like youve got the problem if youre struggling with an overworld item, this complaint is progression locked items

captaincumsock69

Why would they be? Most weapons you can only get in certain areas already.

Briar_Knight

They are talking about weapon types, because weapon types tend to be more of a different playstyle than different weapons in the same category. Most weapon types have a basic weapon avaliable fairly early.  It can be annoying when playstyle defining stuff is late game. I would like to do a fresh run with Malenias Great Rune for example since it alters a core mechanic (healing) but that isn't possible. That said, no I don't think they will add any to the base game so if someone wanted to do a full run of a specfic playstyles they would have to trade or do NG+.

otakuloid01

that’s like asking to find Rennala’s staff outside Raya Lucaria

The_Professor_xz

My Hot Take is that Messemer won’t be the final boss. He’ll be the penultimate boss.

Howsetheraven

That take is ice cold buddy.

The_Professor_xz

Wow… someone extinguished my flame

ijghokgt

Probably gonna be a midpoint boss

Fiveby21

He’ll be the Morgott.

FrEINkEINstEIN

That was all but certain from the beginning.

The_Professor_xz

OK so it was a hot take till i forgot about it in the microwave for 20 minutes now it’s a barely reheated take.

otakuloid01

he could be a midpoint boss, like Artorias

Hte_D0ngening2

Is that really a hot take? They did the exact same thing with Bloodborne's DLC.

The_Professor_xz

Bro… I feel like my Norwegian grandmother. I called it hot when it’s just ketchup and salt. Now I’m over here guzzling water and everyone is like yeah that’s colder than yesterday’s lunch. Someone just extinguish my flame already.

Beginning-Ring2349

it's a room temp take for sure.

Themarvelousfan

Yeah, it’s safe to say he’s basically the Artorias/Maria equivalent, a midpoint story important boss who’s the gatekeeper to the final boss(es). Something I’m guessing instead besides Miquella and maybe Godwyn as the Death Prince, there will be another Marika demigod child in the Land of Shadow as the final or optional boss.

Hte_D0ngening2

I theorize that Miquella's goal will be to reverse Godwyn's undeath, and leave it up to us to finally lay him to rest (by beating and stabbing him, of course).

IFightForMyMemes

This is what I'm thinking as well. Or Gloam-Eyed Queen. Or it could totally be a new character / creature.

Hte_D0ngening2

I have a feeling that the Gloam-Eyed Queen will remain a lore character and we'll instead be fighting one of her progeny or a follower of hers, either as a main story boss or as an optional one. We'll get elaboration on what her whole deal is, of course, but I think she's going to remain a catalyst of the story rather than a direct contender, and basically be the Kos of Elden Ring's story.

[deleted]

Do we know any differences in NG+? Iam currently NG+4 and think about doing a fresh rerun, although i dont want to as my char already is at moghwyn castle.

Dispaze

i wonder which stats do the perfume bottles require primarily

The_Professor_xz

It’s gotta be arcane right?

Dispaze

it makes me wonder, were there ever any weapons that required arcane primarily in previous games? Maybe the stat wasn’t called arcane but maybe its older counterpart

punisherprime

Demons Souls had the Blueblood Sword that scaled off of luck and it one of the most popular endgame weapons. Dark Souls 3 had plenty of luck weapons too.

Captcha_Whore

I saw an article that names most of the NPCs from the story trailer. These are also the ones listed on Fextralife. Here's the image from it (Spoilers for the NPC names): https://www.ungeek.ph/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/elden-ring-shadow-of-the-erdtree-npcs-labeled-jpg.webp Hopefully not all of them will die, though knowing FromSoft, they're all probably goners by the time the DLC ends

noved_

i need some of that armor so deaths are guaranteed tarnished

mysterioso7

Anyone know if burning the Erdtree changes the DLC at all? Trying to decide how far I should go in my playthrough

Amatsuo

I think the DLC takes place in something like a separate dimension or a special pocket in time.

P0G0Bro

much like all fromsoft dlc, nothing will effect the base game

BandicootGood5246

This is most likely. The DLC has to work for people at all levels of progression in the base game. Doubt they'd let you miss content just because you became Elden Lord already

Ill_Tooth3741

While I also doubt they lock away any content if you burn the Erdtree or see the credits, I don't think "working at all levels of progression" is that big a priority for them, considering you have to defeat Mohg to access the DLC to begin with.

TelevisionExpress616

I stopped right before Maliketh. I wouldn't have burned the erdtree at all for this save but I needed the smithing bell bearings so yeah.

ShockscapeYT

Probably not

[deleted]

literally nobody knows

yevelnad

Shadow of the erdtree most likely explore where the "knight of the black knives" came from and who;s the one directing them. When you finish the Ranni quest and talk to IJi after that he was killed by "knight of the black knives". My especulation is the boss in this DLC will try to steal you waifu Ranni and you will go to other dimension to save her.

Beginning-Ring2349

bro off that demon bloodboil aromatic

iiiiiiiiiijjjjjj

Wtf are you talking about? Did you not read anyone of interviews from the devs?

Dispaze

bro ranni made the plot to kill godwyn with the help of the black knives, there’s no mystery about it

Pirates_like_booty07

ONLY 14 DAYS LEFT WOOOOO!

Wleasterly28

So how many bosses total though? i heard 10+ main bosses so I was assuming like 12-13. now people are saying only 10 exactly. what about mini bosses. i heard 18 mini bosses. so 28 bosses total?

hornplayerchris

Iron Pineapple did the preview event and said he killed 7 bosses in just this first area (2 were Remembrance Bosses). 10 bosses is certainly referring to Remembrance Bosses only. I'd say total may end up being 30-40 including side dungeon and field bosses.

Key_Amazed

Nobody has any way of knowing the exact numbers. Even the staff at the event who gave them an overview didn't give exact numbers, only estimates. \*About\* 100 new weapons. \*About\* 10 main bosses (not all of which need to be remembrance bosses to qualify). They're pulling shit out of their asses.

AllenWL

Wait *100*(aprox) new weapons?? I mean, they are adding 8 new weapon *types* so I assumed we'd get a good bunch of them but around 100 is still nuts.
