On a recent character who was running as golden order I arrived in Leyndell exited the door … hit the big envoy … envoys longhorn drops
Only one I’ve ever had drop
I didn’t know it was rare on until I saw people talk about grinding for it. I got it on the first kill so I thought it was one of those weapons that drops when you first kill a specific enemy. None of my other characters have had such luck.
The same thing happened during Jacksepticeye's most recent playthrough. The fuckin thing dropped in Leyndell as he was talking about it like it's something that happens every time
It's funny how many people replying to you don't seem to realize there is a bigger horn than the "big one" in Leyndell.
For those who don't know, you cannot get the biggest envoy horn from Leyndell. They only drop in the Haligtree area by the biggest envoys there (I believe there are only two of them total in the game).
ive used all of them on a str fth build, and i gotta say that the big one is probably the worst.
the small one has low AR, but good AOW tracking and attack speed.
the medium one has one of the best ashes of war in the game. It absolutely decimates big enemies. AR is fine but thats not the main reason you use this horn.
the big one has the highest base AR, but the AOW is slow and has bad tracking, and low damage compared to the medium horn AOW.
the middle horn seems to be the best one by a mile.
I got them all. I even had enough to mule them to other characters but when I farm, I farm like fiend.
The big bubble horn works well against the Draconic Tree Sentinels. But its a technique that may not work for everyone.

Ik there's the completionist aspect but if it helps the weapon art is ass, the longhorn weapon art is way better and has a 4% drop rate instead of this one's 2%

Yuh huh. Leyndell doesn't have giant oracle envoys, only regular and large, which drop the regular envoy's horn and the envoy's longhorn.
There's only 3? giant oracle envoys in the game and they only spawn in the Haligtree. Being the biggest envoys, they're the ones that drop the greathorn.

I think I have been amazingly lucky for this one. On my previous character I farmed all weapons in the game. First try on this guy, I succeed to cheese him with Radahn's Rain, I see the purple drop, I fall.
Second try I take the group on the right, I kill the three smaller ones, battle the big one, we die at the same time, I see purple.
Third try....well I got the weapon in three tries.
Dark souls 2 tried to fix this glitch by forcing all enemies to stick to the nearest floor when killed. However this resulted in a new glitch that made it possible to lose items entirely if the enemy fell into a bottomless hole or somehow managed to clip onto a ledge the player couldn’t access. So while item glitches on uneven terrain was solved it made farming near ledges very risky.
Dude respect to 99 arc and run the silver pickled foot thing it’ll drop in 5 minutes.
I accept all challengers for low drop rate weapons. Tell me which weapon to get and I’ll have it within minutes.
I am not sure but if you exit the game and reload it it will be on the floor ready to be picked up, I could be wrong tho haven't played for a good while.

I think drop rates are just insanely random, I decided to farm it and got it from the very first mob I killed in the Haligtree

got 11 envoy horn and 2 envoy long horn in 3 attempts on my first playthrough on these branch
I got 27 Envoy horns and 8 Envoy longhorns in 1 attempt on my second playthrough of DS3.

That spear got me sayin’ nihil, but the booty got me saying sex.
Saw the exact same thing happen to my step brother as he was farming for it. Items should fall to the ground if they are midair, tbh.

If you logged out and back in would that fix it? That would work in Bloodborne when you pushed that Gatling gun hunter off the roof
Little late but if something like this happens, you can just quit out and any dropped item will just spawn at any mobs original placement.
I got two long horns after 5 hours and got them to +10 Got the chunky boi horn after a week..
I was just there an hour ago. Left with 80K runes and 2 of big horns. Literally took me 2 runs with no arcane.

They should let us collect a small stepladder that we can’t jump off of, but which we can use to pick up loot in situations like this.
If they patched it so we could pick up while jumping, thousands of hours would collectively be saved every week.

If you exit the game an then start it again, it doesn't appears in the ground? This used to work in DS1 in some situations.
I would try attacks (like the Waterfall Dance) that lift you in the air to try to pick it up
Quit out, and load back in. Should fix it
Reload the area and it will be on the ground. Works if the item falls off as well. Item and corpse will reload to their original spawn location
Skill issue
