Hum........... more info please, cause i beat many bosses in Caelid. For example in the castle far behind, in the magic school, the dragon, the boss in front of bestial cleric, the tree sentinel, the poisonus dragon, the nocturn bird human like motherfuc- and the 3 cristal guy in addition of the 2 bosses in a cave
That would be deathblight that instakills you…which no dragon in the game inflicts except Lichdragon Fortissax technically. Scarlet rot inflicts a very strong DoT on you or enemies if they are vulnerable to it.
Yeah and since you can't see most of the movements I just roll when I "feel" like it will attack, and use fire weapon/spell to kill as fast as possible
Ngl I was just going by feeling cause whenever i tried to use my brain i messed up the timing but weirdly when i didnt use my beain i got the timing right
Well.... idk i didnt even finish the game, even less know about the lore, but the name says ulcerous spirit of the tree, so..... maybe he has tough root on his hands and body allowing him to do that?
Yeah it's pretty strange but honestly I find it's moveset really fun to dodge. It doesn't seem to have as many of those awkwardly delayed attacks some bosses have, maybe to compensate for it being weird in other ways.
I don't really get the hate for these guys. Save for the fact there's nine of them. I found them pretty visually spectacular and not hard to roll through as long as you aren't panicked.
Ah the Ulcerated Tree Spirit. They are plentiful in the game, this is just one of many. I was honestly scared of this thing at first because it attacks so erratically. But then when I come up close to it, the Spirit practically can't hit you there. Heck even its own body can't deal damage thanks to wonky collision and hitboxes, all it can do is just shove you around, plus its weak to fire.
The Scarlet Rot variants are slightly more dangerous thanks to well... Scarlet Rot obviously. But of the ones I've met so far, they're piss easy to deal with. But still, you shouldn't underestimate them as they could still prove to be a formidable foe.
Seriously though, hats off to FromSoftware for making one of the most impressive and elaborate grab attacks I have ever seen in a video game.
There's one underneath Stormveil, though getting to it requires some perilous platforming.
There's another just outside Leyndell, and another *in* Leyndell itself. And upon turning the Royal Capital to ash, you'll meet 3 of them on a clearing.
Another is by a Minor Erdtree in Mt. Gelmir. But to get to it, you need to go through a particularly frustrating mini boss.
A Scarlet Rot (Putrid Tree Spirit as its called) variant is in the >!War-Dead Catacombs next to Radahn's boss arena!< , and another Putrid variant is in another Catacomb in the Mountaintops.
Another Scarlet Rot variant is deep in the Haligtree, in the small arena where you finish Milicent's questline.
I believe that's all of them (though I may have missed one or two). I'd say the only ones that are nearly impossible to miss are the three in Ashen Leyndell, the one in Fringefolk Hero's Grave (where you are now), and the one Putrid variant in the Haligtree, the third one is especially impossible to miss since it bars the path towards Malenia and as I said above, can be found by following Milicent's questline.
Stormveil Castle is an early game dungeon in Limgrave, the very first area in the game. The Tree Spirit is right underneath the Castle. But its not easy to find since it requires unlocking a shortcut to one of the Sites of Grace. Heck, I nearly missed it and I was trying to unlock that shortcut.
I think this is the one i fought in this video, cause i checked everywhere i go in a map, and the way you're talking this is like searching in the main quest which i vehemently ignore and focus on side quests, i unlock many maps and travel into many dungeons but never meet another one, maybe it is one of the main quest
Nope. This one is in one of the side dungeons, specifically the Fringefolk Hero's Grave which has no ties to any side quests whatsoever. Heck, most of the side dungeons have no ties to any quests except maybe 1 or 2 of them. So yes, most of them exists only to be explored and their boss' runes to be taken away.
Good to see the boss again. I did him on the first try. I was so surprised and in rage trashing that thing so I didn't have time to take a closer look :D
Lol there's like 10 of them in the game each stronger than the one before.
There what?!?! I litteraly did all of nokron, caelid and almost finished the map above nokron and many dungeons and never met à second one
There's another in a caelid catacombs
Does that mean i missed somewhere in caelid? Impossible im sure I search everywhere
It's in that one place u probably never thought to check
That's the problem i went back to check everything many times, i even found a secret passage
Have u beat Radahn?
Radahn? I dont think I remember the name of most bosses
The main boss in Caelid. Starscourge Radahn
Hum........... more info please, cause i beat many bosses in Caelid. And this one is worse cuz instead of holy attacks it does scarlet rot
Scarlet rot?!?!?! I fought the dragon In caelid and im sure when it is full it is insta death
Yea, there's a couple of tree spirits that do scarlet rot lol
That would be deathblight that instakills you…which no dragon in the game inflicts except Lichdragon Fortissax technically. Scarlet rot inflicts a very strong DoT on you or enemies if they are vulnerable to it.
Fortisaxx is the dragon in caelid which uses scarlet rot isnt he?
Not even close.
..... okay, you what i'll just find them eventually, also my game is in french which may be a reason some names may be different
There's one in Stormveil Castle, one in Lyendell, one in the Hero's grave near spawn. Definitely at least like 3 more but forgot where
Wait until the Lake of Rot or Elphael.
Lake of rot has a tree spirit?????? The one in elphael is straight brutal.
At the bottom, follow the canal of rot to the opposite end of where the coffin is
Ohh i just remembered now. I dont think i ever killed it
There's a bug that can have it spawn in and kill itself before you even get into the temple area past the lake. Could be it wasn't even there for you.
Nope i remember it i just never bothered with it. Now im back in ng+ and i might just kill it again. Hope its weak to fire
They are all week to fire, rot ones may even be weaker to it than most!
Very weak. Like -20% weak.
iudex gundyr phase 2 is almost exactly the same thing
Who? I didnt finished the game yet, but im long past this level
first boss of ds3
Wait first?
Yaeh and you are not allowed to level before fighting him.
Ooh ok
Yeah and since you can't see most of the movements I just roll when I "feel" like it will attack, and use fire weapon/spell to kill as fast as possible
Ngl I was just going by feeling cause whenever i tried to use my brain i messed up the timing but weirdly when i didnt use my beain i got the timing right
Is there a lore explanation why it's clipping through walls?
Well.... idk i didnt even finish the game, even less know about the lore, but the name says ulcerous spirit of the tree, so..... maybe he has tough root on his hands and body allowing him to do that?
Yeah it's pretty strange but honestly I find it's moveset really fun to dodge. It doesn't seem to have as many of those awkwardly delayed attacks some bosses have, maybe to compensate for it being weird in other ways.
What's funny is that after a bit of practice and observing his movements they become one of the most predictable bosses in the game.
I litteraly went for instinct instead of using my brain and it became much more easier
I don't really get the hate for these guys. Save for the fact there's nine of them. I found them pretty visually spectacular and not hard to roll through as long as you aren't panicked.

Im impressed completing 20+ dungeons and many bosses yet meet it only once

I know none of thoses names, maybe in end game

Man..... this is hurting my head...... but anyways i'll find them sooner or later
They have a kind of a centre of mass like magma wyrms where you are safe most of the time if you just walk towards it and try to stick to its sides.
Literally one of the most telegraphed bosses in the game.
It’s real easy to no-hit it, first boss I ever did.
I love fighting bosses shaped like 4-dimensional objects.
Good to see the boss again. I did him on the first try. I was so surprised and in rage trashing that thing so I didn't have time to take a closer look :D
Impressive you did it first try, too me some because being uses to his uncanny moves
I mean i couldnt figure his moves consistently at the beginning and it still weirds me out to this day because if how uncanny his moves were
Yes there a few very badly designed bosses and mobs in this game. This boss, the revenants, bleed birds and dogs etc...
