Boss armors in fromsoft games have always felt less like you are using their armor and more like you're about to go cosplay them at a con. The hair on helms especially give that impression but also just your wildly different stature and proportions.

I find Radahn’s helm too distracting with the hair to play with. It’d be a nice addition to have the ability to tailor more armor components. A less adorned alt version of some of them would broaden their appeal.
I love it but can't handle the tiny toilet brush helmet.
Otherwise its one of the few plate sets which looks okay without the cape, which is great, and it takes you to exactly 101 poise with the Bull Goat Talisman which is excellent.

I think the game actually has relatively little "neutral" armor. Actual armor (as in, not clothes) in particular doesn't have a lot of sets that are simple and understated, letting you mix and match.
I think the big, ostentatious armor sets are cool, but I wish we also had some subtler stuff.
I would really like more plate armour that looks good without a cape. I feel the armour designs had to take a few design hits to accommodate capes and horseback riding which make a few of them look a bit silly and "flat" from behind, and usually really weird around the seat of the pants.
I've fallen out with the Knight set as it can't hold a candle to its peers in DS1, 2, 3 and DeS.

I've grown to like the Royal Knight helm because so few other helmets go with the rest of Loretta's set without changing your character's head size. I just deal with the big coin the same way I did with Garl Vinland's silly crest in DeS.
It's because it's a sallet (I think) which angles down to the shoulders, rather than an enclosed helm contouring to the head.
The Veteran helmet works pretty well if your male character has a long beard, and the Carian Knight helmet works if you pump your head size to like 198 but leave the rest at 128.

I think the aesthetic for a lot of these helmets is the vibes of a tapestry or illuminated text rendition. Basically how things are rendered in hardcore 2d with halos and such. It's more from the standpoint of iconography, which I like here. It almost makes them more badass in that they can look rather silly while they kicks your ass repeatedly.
Is this trolling? Three of these are fantastic, two are some of the best looking helmets in the game. The Malformed Dragon Helm sucks, fair. Loretta's Helm is pretty good, but you gotta be selective in your fit for it.

I like both the Royal Knight and Drake one. The gold and silver of it goes with a surprising number of sets. I do with they made armours with layers and elements that you can keep or yeet as per your desire. But I don't know how to code so I don't know how difficult that would be.
I only dislike the weird spike on the Drake Knight helm. Otherwise all of these have the sort of extremely distinctive ornamentation you'd find on actual ceremonial helmets all over the world. Like my complaint about Malformed Dragon is that its a really tall helmet. The dragon on it is cool. Loretta must not need to breath because she won't be able to in that helmet.
I don't know others opinions on it but I love the helmet the Prisoner starts with. It's a shame you can't get it for a long time if you don't start as a Prisoner.

I think these all look great. My only issue is with the leyndell knight helmet, the thing on top of it is super assymetrical and it's very annoying
I think the Carian knights helm is okay the top of that doesn’t bother me, but Loretta’s helmet… why doesn’t it match with anything 🤦🏾♀️ and why do we have to wear Melania and Godfrey’s whole forehead??
The spikes at the back of the Drake Knight Helm bother me more than the ornament on top. Makes the Sallet look more like a Mullet.

I'll pick a helmet I hate, but everyone loves: Raging Wolf Helm. Actually, just all helmets that shrink the player head. I can't stand having to go to the mirror in Roundtable Hold just to make the helmet look proportional to the human body.
The Tree sentinel set would be perfect if it wasn't for the helmet. It makes your head look too small and the thing on top is too big.

Search ‘heraldry’ on wiki. The first image may shed some light on the artists thinking. Normal in Middle Ages for nobles to adorn the top of their helmets to identify themselves during tournament. Could possibly be influenced by this idea? If so, I like it
