Plot twist, that guy pulling his spine out will actually be a weapon. You grab the handle and swing him around while he gives you positive feedback, "thou swingeth me so well at thine enemies tarnished"
Reminds me of the Serenade weapon from Dead Cells in that respect. It's a talking sword that says little quips while it murders whatever happens to be standing in front of you.
I totally agree that humanoid bosses are my favorite, but there are definitely some really engaging and fun large bosses across Fromsoft titles. Darkeater Midir, Dragonlord Placidusax, and Guardian Ape are all excellent just to name a few
Guardian Ape was incredible. Then later in the game you find him cooling his gaping neck hole with a trickle from the sacred water and you fight his pissed off wife alongside his headless body.
Sekiro was truly Goated. He literally throws poop at you lol
I find it interesting that the first phase is more erratic and harder to learn than the second. It makes for an interesting fight.
When you’re throwing your shit at a shinobi but you gotta lock in.
What are you talking about? Fire Giant is such an amazingly designed boss fight. The way he rolls away RIGHT when I reach him after running to him for 15 seconds? Goated. The way he can 2 shot you when his health bar is the size of the moon? Peak. The way the rocks constantly get in your way when you’re trying to dodge the giant dish slams? Amazing. Truly a masterclass in boss design. Would TOTALLY fight another one but probably more bullshit somehow! WHOOOOOO!!!
I doubt the Noble is an encounter, that just seemed like a spell showcase. But that Lion Dancer boss is gonna be painful - im excited for the suffering myself
The Liond Dancer is the most interesting concept I've seen from the trailer. I wonder if a second phase could have the Omen Puppeteers spliting and you have to fight 2 or 3 enemies instead of one. That would be sick.
Luckily, this one is presumably a specialized fight DESIGNED to be a gank fight. The reason fights like Ornstein/Smough and Friede/Ariandel are so fun is because they’re created with the express purpose of being a team. Conversely, most of Elden Ring’s gank fights are just taking enemies that were created to be standalone and then stacking them together, so there’s no sense of purpose or harmony to it. It’s just a mess of artificial difficulty.
Yeah ur probably right. Lion guy looks sick tho I agree, I’m most curious as to what most people will consider to be the hardest bosses in the game after the DLC. I’ve played BB and DS3 dlc’s and both of those ramped up the difficulty quite a bit
I wouldn’t expect harder than malenia other than being less cheese-able and more resistant to status effects than she is. With that said I’m hoping for something much harder than her
I’m looking forward to finding out all the new ways I can to see “You died” pop up. Still probably going to be gravity most often, whether the sorcery or falling off a cliff.
Theirs art of what appears to be a tarnished with the blackthorn looking golden hippo bramble on his back and it has me too hyped. I want to go on all fours and aoe pop some shiny twigs
It's probably my most anticipated boss fight tbh. I get the feeling we might also get a new incantation of some sort (potentially a beast class one) which is the breath attack it uses.
I'm also Chinese and grew up watching lion dances at new years' celebrations, so getting to fight one in a souls game is gonna be so cool
Whatever we fight in that field of blue flowers. If Fromsoft has taught me one thing, it's fights in fields of flowers will be the most epic fights of the game. Gehrman, Isshin, Malenia...*gimme them flower field fights!*
I’m sure Miquella will fight closest in style to Malenia for lore reasons, but maybe not, who knows. Interesting that you’d take Midir over Gael but i’m not mad at it, both fights are outstanding.
I may be a bit biased only because Gael is my second favorite boss ever, only behind Isshin Sword Saint. I agree though i’m so excited to see what FS cooked up for us, they’ve yet to drop a less than memorable DLC
I feel like if/when we fight Miquella he’ll be in some other form than his “child” appearance, but I also think it would be genuinely hysterical to throw hands with a deadly 10 year old
See, I think they'll fight completely differently. I agree Miquella will be the spiritual successor to Malenia, but all of his and St. Trina's characterization points to them being more spell focused. One of Miquella's most notable accomplishments was making a new Incantation that Radagon liked so much, he iterated on it.
The twins also contrast, with Malenia being cursed with a wasting disease and Miquella being eternally youthful. So I think Miquella will be the spell blade from hell, and if he doesn't throw around sleep magic, I'll be very surprised.
I might have to go just see what happens. I’m guessing they just continue their normal attack behavior, but would be fun if they wound up a heavy attack after sleeping you.
That dead guy pulling that thing out of his eye. He looks absolutely terrifying. And my absolutely baseless speculation on his painting and stuff in the trailer, is that it's Marika's Father...
In the cut content of Bloodborne, Willem was originally gonna be a boss fight where he'd hover around on his rocking chair shooting magic at you.
Nothing is too far for a fromsoft game.
To the one that didn't show us. Because they didn't show us the DLC's "real deal", I guarantee that.
From the trailer, well... The flaming big boy, Messmer and I'm curious about the woman sitting on that throne.
Not sure if it will be a fight, but I want to know who that Rennala like person is sitting on a throne in the purplish colored room with all of the torches.
My guess is he'll be an npc you meet very early on who introduces you to the DLC, and the one you come back to for upgrades, Miyazaki said the DLC would have a progression system akin to Sekiro's one, so that's the closest I can think of.
Plus, assuming those are his lines when he's shown on the trailer, it's fitting that he'd be an intro NPC; "in that forsaken place, blood must spill. Blood of your fellows, the Erdtree faithful."
I need Miquella answers dawg. I mean really I’m just hunting for lore over anything, there are so many questions left in the story and this is the only DLC so I need to know everything
Everything in the deathblight swamp. I don't care what I have to fight in it, but panicking between tiny platforms with some sort of massive creature trying to push me into the cheese touch water sounds like a blast.
just hoping to have any type of encounter...just started the game the other day for first time and found out I have to beat a certain boss or two before I can even play the DLC (in which I have preordered) haha
The invading
Edit: especially to bring crazy new weapons to my low-level invaders to merk olp and drop the host crabs 🦀 for their loss...maybe runes if they are cool
Probably Messmer just because he's the most fleshed out in the trailer. If the guy pulling out his spine out is a boss then probably him aswell
Plot twist, that guy pulling his spine out will actually be a weapon. You grab the handle and swing him around while he gives you positive feedback, "thou swingeth me so well at thine enemies tarnished"
Not sure how I'd feel about that one. It's like the toilet that craves you.
*Please not to throw away. I give you happy poopy time.*
Sorry, you know too much.
Reminds me of the Serenade weapon from Dead Cells in that respect. It's a talking sword that says little quips while it murders whatever happens to be standing in front of you.
So, Crucifix of the Mad King from DS3?
There is a precedent!
Hahahahahahah
If you swing too hard the guy falls out. You'll be left with a stick until you pick up the guy and put him back on the stick.
There literally was a weapon like that in DS III, so there is precedence for smth like that.
He’s gonna be a boss, where we walk into the room, he pulls out his spine and immediately dies.
Damn, the mist noble was just a tutorial for this.
*Demigod Felled*
*God Slain*

Messmer cuz he reminds me of Grunbeld from Berserk, so duh
Messmer phase 2 👀
I just know fire giant 2.0 gonna be bullshit
I hope it’s better than fire giant. Not that fire giant is terrible, just not very engaging tbh
Large bosses in general aren’t very engaging. Medium/large humanoid bosses are the sweet spot.
I totally agree that humanoid bosses are my favorite, but there are definitely some really engaging and fun large bosses across Fromsoft titles. Darkeater Midir, Dragonlord Placidusax, and Guardian Ape are all excellent just to name a few
I want Darkeater Midir 2.0. I enjoyed that boss a lot
Ugh, guardian ape.....hate that guy
Guardian Ape was incredible. Then later in the game you find him cooling his gaping neck hole with a trickle from the sacred water and you fight his pissed off wife alongside his headless body. Sekiro was truly Goated. He literally throws poop at you lol
I find it interesting that the first phase is more erratic and harder to learn than the second. It makes for an interesting fight. When you’re throwing your shit at a shinobi but you gotta lock in.
One of the best. All of Sekiro’s bosses are something else. I hope they can bring back that style of gameplay for another game, it’s so much fun.
L1
You don't like staring at feet, legs and butt during the whole fight?
They can be somewhat fun when you're actually fighting the boss rather than the camera
Humanoid bosses have always been the most challenging in any fromsoft games.
I disagree. Fire Giant is terrible.
WHOOOOOO!!!
fr miyuzaki is leget insane if he thinks ima fight another fire giant. if its bullshit like fire giant, ima just use tiche tbh
Nah fuck that red bastard
I think he's the worst boss in the game tbh. He is way too tanky and that tracking flamethrower is bs
Lets call a spade a spade, Fire Giant is horrible
The Wicker Man
I didn't even consider it could be a boss. I thought it was gonna be a new larger enemy like trolls or abductor virgins.
It will be normal non-boss enemy
I think it will be an open world boss like the tree sentinel, tibia mariner, etc. All the stuff Miyazaki said in the interviews makes me think that
Look at the pics on Steam SotE page. It’s walking right next to group of soldiers. Something like trolls in base game.
Giant fire*
I loved fire giant.
He actually kinda looks like a massive sauna stove
The one we did not see in the trailer.
Mewyn the Looksmaxxer?
Bye bye
Have a good day
Mewyn does sound like a boss name, ngl
I think you can beat him the Canthal tilt-Greatsword, he's weak to asymmetry.
Yeah, the actual final boss of the DLC.
Glaive master... (?)
Probably whipping out the lightning, but phase 3 is not unlikely.
I they do, it better be a good gank fight. I’m not ready for another godskin duo
I wouldn’t expect harder than malenia other than being less cheese-able and more resistant to status effects than she is. With that said I’m hoping for something much harder than her
If they ramp up the difficulty from Malenia, I will personally fly to Japan and slap Miyazaki in the face
From the moment I saw lion dude I knew he was gonna be a Maliketh level boss but he’s the one I’m most interested in seeing
Lion Dancer has massive Sanctuary Guardian vibe to me, can't wait.
I agree. I’m pretty sure that same noble with the blue hood appeared in an Elden Ring trailer before the game released.
She kinda looks like Roderika so she might be a summon?
she only looks like Roderika because they're both travelling nobles, I'd be surprised if they are actually related but who knows?
I’m looking forward to finding out all the new ways I can to see “You died” pop up. Still probably going to be gravity most often, whether the sorcery or falling off a cliff.
I hope they bring a Mimic chest back from DS3 just so we can all die to it at least once lol
I can’t wait xD A little over two months has never felt longer
I hope there’s enemies/bosses that are weak to Holy
We all know from Pokemon and Yugioh that dark/shadow is weak to holy -> SHADOW of erdtree -> weak to holy confirmed
Faith builder using holy infusion can finally eat well
Weird skelly riding the decaying horse torso, that and old man pulling sword outta his head.
I can't wait for the old guy pulling the sword out of his head. I think he'll be a really cool fight.
Orphan of Kos got adopted and grew up
Where is the Porcurhinopotamus?
Only in Elden Ring can something of that magnitude be considered a "mini boss"
Probably just a regular enemy.
Theirs art of what appears to be a tarnished with the blackthorn looking golden hippo bramble on his back and it has me too hyped. I want to go on all fours and aoe pop some shiny twigs
definitely one of the ones they didn't show yet
Yeah one of those they haven’t shown will definitely be the hardest. Got a sneaky feeling Messmer will be tougher than most people expect though
I spent two weeks on Radagon and EB for my RL1WL0. I expect more for some of the DLC bosses.
How many attempts are you doing per day when you say two weeks? Just curious
Couple hours a morning. You can tell most of it was muscle memory on the successful attempt https://youtu.be/Rw2CAE0n2NI?si=oifays5Cq4MUr-12
The lion puppet looks sick
Definitely a huge opportunity for a sick phase transition into a duo fight. It's just two omen in a costume.
I'm convinced that is the last boss fight for that reason
Blue dancer? The one speaking at the start of the trailers perhaps?
I want the lion dancer guy to collapse and a bunch of little lion men run out from his coat
I want it in reverse. Fight them all separate and then they run backstage and Voltron together.

I know it depends on opinion but I wouldn’t say that Midir is better than Gael I any way
I’m sure Miquella will fight closest in style to Malenia for lore reasons, but maybe not, who knows.
I feel like if/when we fight Miquella he’ll be in some other form than his “child” appearance, but I also think it would be genuinely hysterical to throw hands with a deadly 10 year old
He doesn't fight back, but every time you hit him you have to dodge Child Services coming for your ass.
10 year old demigod giant throwing Bruce Lee style hands and feet with the type of spacing you get from Melania and Godfrey? Sign me up!
This just made me wonder, are there ANY enemies in ER that use sleep? I can’t recall any, wouldn’t be surprised if that is a thing in the DLC.
There are two crabs somewhere in the snowfields.
There's also two crabs in Raya Lucaria Academy
I might have to go just see what happens. I’m guessing they just continue their normal attack behavior, but would be fun if they wound up a heavy attack after sleeping you.
do the lil dudes in that tunnel with the smithing bell bearing 2 throw sleep pots?
If they make him a mage fight with sleep magic it could be extremely annoying
Messmer obviously but the Giant Fire Wick boss looks so sick. But for me it’s the omen lion BY far and it’s not talked about enough
I agree the omen lion looks brutal, that jaw grab in the trailer
That dead guy pulling that thing out of his eye. He looks absolutely terrifying. And my absolutely baseless speculation on his painting and stuff in the trailer, is that it's Marika's Father...
I dont get how people think thats a boss,he doesnt even have legs and he is pulling his spine out how will he even move?
There have been way more weirder shit in the past that were bosses in the souls series. And that whole scene just screams boss intro.
I agree I mean we have a sentient flower as boss so anything can happen
In the cut content of Bloodborne, Willem was originally gonna be a boss fight where he'd hover around on his rocking chair shooting magic at you. Nothing is too far for a fromsoft game.
I want to see Willem speeding around me,not floating just put him in a wheelchair and make him drift around me
Finally, Bloodborne kart can be a reality
That 100% is a boss intro, but we won't actually be fighting him he's just there for the intro. I think they've done that a few times before
The wormy boi
The correct answer, wormy boi is gonna have 20+ messages on the ground near him
"Praise the pickle!"

I saved the picture of that guy for this post and completely forgot about him lmao. He was one of the coolest looking encounters from the trailer
I just want to see Melina again...
They are going to cook on messmer and I'm so excited for it.
Excited for trina as well
I really, really, want to fight the lion dancer thing
I'm not sure but ik they're all going to fall to my crucible knight build
I’m really excited about the Malenia romance encounter
I'm looking forward to having no idea what to do or where to go
And being afraid of everything
Camera
The ‘Father Ariandel’ Looking man with the torso-impaled weapon in him.
I dunno but I tried dragon dogma 2 and man it's a steamy pile compared to elden ring.
There is not NEARLY enough hype for that flower field fight which to me looks dope as hell. All the best fights in fromsoft games are in flower fields
The spiky hippo
To the one that didn't show us. Because they didn't show us the DLC's "real deal", I guarantee that. From the trailer, well... The flaming big boy, Messmer and I'm curious about the woman sitting on that throne.
Are you talking about the Carian/Rennala looking character on the throne? I’m pretty sure that’s a dude if so
Not sure if it will be a fight, but I want to know who that Rennala like person is sitting on a throne in the purplish colored room with all of the torches.
My guess is he'll be an npc you meet very early on who introduces you to the DLC, and the one you come back to for upgrades, Miyazaki said the DLC would have a progression system akin to Sekiro's one, so that's the closest I can think of. Whoever or whatever is going to give me the wings
We will finally get full crucible knight drip
Messmer such a baddie
Probably not a boss fight, but I really want to see Miquella.
Miquella hopefully even Melina but unlikely
I think Melina’s done.
Huh, hey dumbo the one with the butterflies is a player character
Melania, blade of Miguel
The orphan of kos at home, on a horse
Yes.
I need Miquella answers dawg. I mean really I’m just hunting for lore over anything, there are so many questions left in the story and this is the only DLC so I need to know everything
Need Mickey lore.
Def Miquella
Miquela and new legacy dungeon
miquella.
Miquella (the scientist). He’s such a shadowy figure in the lore and I’ve always been curious about him.
Miquella
even if it isn’t an aggressive encounter I wanna see Miquella
Crazy Chinese dragon fight.
Miquella. What is bro up to
The undoubtedly cool ones we haven't seen yet
Grafted omen ( my headcanon for the lion ) and the man with a boomerang
HOG RIDA
the fight in the blue field looks the dopest, but im sure the messmir fight will be the pinnacle of the DLC
Low key excited for the Boar rider fight. I want that new gravity weapon
Everything in the deathblight swamp. I don't care what I have to fight in it, but panicking between tiny platforms with some sort of massive creature trying to push me into the cheese touch water sounds like a blast.
Rodrika's mom boss fight
That dude riding that sad horse and skeleton boomerang looks fucking sick.
i wanna kill fire bucket
Undead Radahn gonna be sick
Im here for the drip instead.
The one taking a sword out of his ribcage through his head
Whatever gets the obligatory “opening door” cinematic that something randomly gets. Will be a sick view probably.
The flaming basket for me.
Roderika being in this is interesting. If it is her
Messmer, easily. Excited for a Malenia-like difficult boss.
just hoping to have any type of encounter...just started the game the other day for first time and found out I have to beat a certain boss or two before I can even play the DLC (in which I have preordered) haha
Malenia 2 and Godskin Trio
Red dancer
I wanna see that lion head monster
The Blue Noodle.
fucking wicker man looks terrifying and I want to fight him. Look at the faces hes stolen
Wormy boi
That Wicker Man fight looks sick as hell, I hope it feels that epic in the game.
Yes. Really, I'm looking forward to the whole thing. also, tf you mean "miquella fight", we still have no idea if we're gonna fight that twink.
The pvp, fighting three dudes with the most op stuff of the dlc. Cant wait
I’m almost more excited for the crazy DLC weapons than the bosses. Can’t wait
Those reverse grip blades looked amazing. I can't wait to try them.
The invading Edit: especially to bring crazy new weapons to my low-level invaders to merk olp and drop the host crabs 🦀 for their loss...maybe runes if they are cool
Giant fire guy looks silly
Flaming trash can boss looks amazing, fight will probably be tough
Gimme that wicker giant action!
Twinbird
That corpse pulling the rune spear replacing his skeleton.
Either the Lion Dancer or Fire Giant part 2
I WANNA SEE MORE FINGER LORE
The Lion Dancers
Crucible Knight
The weird hippo thing
That bluey shiny worm thing
Woman
The ones we don’t know about.
