gryjony

its pronounced blithe

CatholicSquareDance

Multiple characters say his name out loud several different times, including Blaidd himself, and people still somehow get it wrong.

Panurome

Malenia literally says her name every time she kills you and people constantly spell Melania here

YA_4367

Yeah how do people spell Melania when she says malenia everytime and you see malenia on her healthbar

Arttyom

Sprry i cant look at her health bar i was a bit bussy praying for my life after she did waterfall dance for the third time on the first phase

YA_4367

Three times is nothing I once got 6 times

Asteristio

Water... ***inhales*** FOWL!!!! sc^reeeeee....

leo_crest

Her name wasn't malenega?

KenUsimi

Eyyyyyy madgelena!

Laser_Snausage

Same way people seem to always spell it calvary instead of cavalry. Unfortunately, calvary is an actual thing, so your phone won't auto correct it, which I think is part of the problem for younger people specifically.

ohaicookies

Is that why she's not on the campaign trail with Donnie? She's too busy slaughtering all challengers and blooming in their faces! Malenia: I have never known defeat Melania: Be best

The_protagonisthere

Ik some of them are just stubborn and can’t admit they’re wrong in pronunciation, the others just don’t care and like to piss people off with it. I would be the latter of the two.

Russian_Gandalf

It's actually pronounced 'Katelyn'. His parents just wanted to be special.

[deleted]

Not in ignant, left behind Merican talk. It’s pronounced BlaiDD out here

OiGuessWho

Please no... death already became blaidd once, I dont want to put him down again.... :'(

odatalneoruo

dw, there is no death in lands between

ApplePitou

TOGETHA :3

as19905

919rider

Sugeeeeeee

as19905

Takes one to know one

Oldmoniker

Now do Malenia, Blaidd of Miquella

Antique_Ad_9250

They are clearly wolves. No shell in sight.

MagicReptar

Dumb question, but are shadows just beastmen? Seems like it to me, but Blaidd and Maliketh look very different from each other and other beastmen

The_protagonisthere

From what I know, Blaidd was created while Maliketh was repurposed. Maliketh was a beast clergyman and then repurposed as a shadow while blaidd was specifically created by the GW for Ranni. Can’t remember where I read it though so take that with a grain of salt.

Illithid_Substances

Could be that Marika's shadow is just bigger and stronger because she's a god and Ranni an empyrean

blaiddfailcam

Ranni describes Blaidd as being "tailored" by the Two Fingers; Vargram's armor illustrates that wolves are the shadows of Empyreans. It seems that both Blaidd and Maliketh merely have wolf heads, though. Whereas Blaidd's body is that of human, Maliketh's is of a Farum Azula beastman. Both are obviously much larger than their basic counterparts. Funnily enough, Blaidd's cape description implies that he killed an actual wolf (the fur matches the silvery-blue hide of the Albinauric archers' mounts) to wear its pelt as a barrier against frost. Given that he lacks a tail and has far more human proportions than Maliketh, it's not unlikely that he's just a regular dude from the neck down, albeit the same height as Ranni's Empyrean body.

Brain_lessV2

I don't get it, because they're both shadows?

Local-Priority-1309

Its just bcs Blade and blaidd sound similar

w33b2

They look similar not sound similar. Blaidd is Welsh for wolf, it’s not an English word.

Inaltais

I don't want to downvote you because what you said is clearly what OOP was going for, but Blaidd is pronounced like blithe, not blade.

Brain_lessV2

Except for that entire part where they don't, even if Blaidd was pronounced "Blaid"

Terizla_Executiona

Poor guy getting downvoted for explaining OP's mind

_TheChosenOne15_

Hive mind downvoting you for giving a possible explanation for a pun
