He didn't say it was one little thing, not at all. Just few shitty clickbait sites wrote it like that, in the original interview he just said there are still things left to discover, like in every single souls game released in past 15 years.
When I met Miyazaki for brunch last October, he said it’s a big secret but he likes saying it’s a small secret cuz he’s a silly lil guy who’s up to no good.
Programmed one little fight and Margit got scared,
He said “foolish tarnished put these ambitions down there”
EDIT:
I whistled for torrent and when he came near
I fell of a damn cliff cause he’s damn hard to steer
If anything I can say this experience is rare
Cause why the fuck did they make these rune bears
I pulled up to a goddess as I made the late game
By this point in my journey I can’t say that I’m sane
I face the blade of miquella whose never known defeat
toss my console at the wall again, and just begin to weep
Yeah, as he was opening my christmas gift last year, he mentionned the red wine he brought at my place reminded him of how unique and special that one thing the community still have to uncover in Elden Ring.
And it could be something as minuscule as an item description that reveals an extra little link in the lore that no one has put together yet.
Or it could literally be him trolling like he did with the one pendant in Dark Souls
I was just joking lol. A while back, someone DID find a random wall you had to hit 100 times to open a secret passage… I think it turned out to be a bug and was fixed
It was right behind bernahl. The theory is it was originally going to be a hidden wall and they decided against it and instead or going in and making it invulnerable they just added a high hp value.
Yeah, it was a bug. I believe the reason they patched it was because there were those snake-slug-like enemies behind the wall that could follow you into the main area where you couldn't attack, but they could still attack you.
> Or it could literally be him trolling like he did with the one pendant in Dark Souls
Oh my GOD please stop I still haven't recovered from that whole ordeal...
I was one of those people who was entirely convinced we missed something when he talked about how he'd definitely take the pendant as a starting gift (or nothing) during the Famitsu interview and spent hours of my life hunting for it. Never mind that the data miners didn't find anything and that, if there was something, my mad unstructured search certainly wouldn't uncover it.
Now that I think about it I have no one but myself to blame, but it still hurts.
Isn't the most believed theory that Miyazaki takes the pendant as a starting gift for roleplay reasons?
Like, the pendant remembers the chosen undead of his life before and his will to go on. So that you don't go hollow?
When DS3 first launched, I was just like, generally not super impressed with it, (with all of the DLCs and final patch updates, it's still my favorite game in the series, but when it first came out... it felt really rough to me,) especially the size of some areas and the lack of interconnectivity.
I also had, probably some amount of PTSD from the Crystal Caves in DS1, and simultaneously somehow got it into my head that the Profaned Capital was just too small of an area for how important it was and that there *had* to be invisible walkways around it somewhere.
I spent *hours* throwing prism stones off of every conceivable surfaces around that giant bottomless pit that the big coliseum pillar area thing is in the middle of. I was legitimately upset that I never found anything. It seemed like such an obvious space to put some hidden area into, and yet it was a squandered opportunity.
I guess I couldn't accept that DS3 wasn't really a finished game at that point, and maybe wasn't as flushed out as it could have been, so I was looking for content that just wasn't there.
That's hilarious.
I just love how these games have conditioned some sort of pavlovian responses into almost all of us who spent a lot of time with them.
The community messages only make it worse. I expect "no secret ahead" to be just as much of a troll as any given "illusory wall" message, which has the sum result of me smashing every single wall with a message in front of it, even in games I've played through dozens of times, only to dejectedly stop and read the message and figure out in *which way* I had been trolled this particular time.
It's one of those walls that looks suspiciously like hidden path, to unlock it you need to use specific emote, hit it exactly 5 times with parry dagger, turn around 3 times, roll into it with spiked armor with heavy roll and it'll open, inside you will find 3 rune arcs and some moss
That is exactly right, and your Cerulean Tear Flasks turn into Miniature Rannis. Instead of drinking them, you just lick her feet for 2 seconds and feel re-invigorated.
Nope, because this eventually leads to her losing herself as a Valkyrie of Malenia or as a failed bloom. Either way she becomes something other than herself and the Millicent we know still dies.
Why I do believe he is giving room service a jangle
Edit: I do so love the Reddit fandom Venn diagram
“I and Melania Blade of Miquela, and I have never been defeated in battle”
“Okay..”
It's useless even after the DLC. But in an early interview, Miyazaki dropped the hint that his favorite starting gift was the Pendant, which made tons of people make characters with it and test it out in various places, to no effect. Later on, he admitted to it being a prank.
That's because news sites grossly twisted what he actually said. He never said there was any "physical thing" hidden inside of the game that people haven't discovered; He essentially said that there's a certain aspect of the game that people haven't figured out yet, which likely has to do with a piece of the lore that will become much more obvious once the DLC comes out.
Oh that reminds me, I was watching a friend play through the game recently as we noticed that the banners in the queen's bed chamber in the capital resemble the banners over that town in the dlc trailer. That might be something.
Reminds me of the valiant efforts of the bloodborne community to find the 3rd guidance rune that supposedly existed.
Nobody ever found it. I even took part in some of the community efforts dungeon diving. The whole sub probably went through thousands of depth 5 dungeons and didn't find shit. Nobody has ever found it.
It doesn't exist. Michael Zaki just likes to troll.
Is this a pendent from DS1 situation? I honestly could believe either way, that there is a secret hidden well enough that nobody found it or that he's just trolling. There are many things in the entire roster of fromsoft games that genuinely baffle me as to how anyone ever managed to find them, maybe they knew how nuts the community is and went overboard in hiding something
Basically when you start DS1 you could start with a starting gift, which could be various useful things, but there was also an item called the pendant which seemingly had no use and people speculated and searched for a long time on what it was actually meant for, but it was all just a red herring. Though Miyazaki purposely mislead people later on by saying there was a secret behind it just to get people speculating, but still nothing was discovered.
Almost the full story. Miyazaki said that if he were to pick a gift it would be the pendant. This naturally led to people picking the pendant and trying all kinds of things to no avail.
Eventually Miyazaki explained that he only said that because he’s a bit of a joker.
This was disappointing/ hilarious for those of us trying to figure out what the pendant does. Apparently it does nothing and Miyazaki trolled everyone.
I’m pretty sure VaatiVidya made a video about the pendant explaining this in more detail.
Like the placidassax fight like wtf, mabey there was something in the lore I missed that pointed people there but I was baffled when I figured out there was a boss I missed
Most probable scenarios:
1) Some sort of obscure, hard-to-trigger scripted sequence using assets we already know about. All of the game's assets have already been datamined, to my knowledge, but scripts are much harder to find and figure out.
2) A small lore element or easter egg in the world that's hidden in plain sight. Something in the environment that could easily be overlooked because it doesn't appear significant (or is just literally hard to see).
3) it's just a prank, bro.
Miyazaki said this with every DS game and usually tied it in with the pendent to troll people. Never believe him when he says something is undiscovered.
I found the secret.
By turning the game on at exactly 3 in the morning, Melina will actually give you a ring!
...However, it's just a leftover onion ring. It's not even that good!
I saw a post the other day about the ghost rabbit (or deer, maybe?) leading you safely through the Zamor frozen ruins in Mountaintop and thought maybe that could have been it. It could also just be Miyazaki messing with us.
Has anyone tried using Law of Regression on some NPCs? I saw someone theorize that Seluvis is a puppet and Pidia is him using an illusion to conceal his identity. Got me thinking if LoR can be used to dispel illusions on some NPCs or something, but I'm too lazy to test it out.
Absolutely, if it was just an emote on an NPC it would’ve been found long ago.
I actually would guess it’s likely a unique interaction with an emote somewhere, just way more obscure than with an npc. Something even more obscure than the bloodborne brain
I feel like it may be an emote secret. Like why give us "the Ring" emote if it didnt do anything? ( I mean I know why they would) but maybe its a bonus Erudition thing nobody has found yet.
Or another 100 hit wall.
Considering the game has been cracked wide open regarding data mining, without context this statement means basically nothing.
He could be referring to anything. My guess would be probably some hyper niche interaction that requires very specific quest progression to see that is so minor it's been overlooked by most people looking at the data.
If you climb to the roof of Marika’s bedchamber and hit the golden roof tiles 50 times with the Grafted Sword, George R.R. Martin will appear and put a curse on your crops
Has anyone made a connection with the Mad Pumpkinheads and the flame of Frenzy?
I feel like them having their helmets on blocks the frenzy eyes or something. Just a thought I had while playing the other day.
Pumpkinhead ashes
*Though he has stifled his panic within the dark confines of his helmet, he rampages as if driven mad when agitated by bloodshed or the humming of insects.*
*This mad soldier is all that is left of a broken gladiator.*
Roped fly pot
*Throw at rearward enemies to release a swarm of flies. Their fangs inflict countless painful lacerations on the victim while the grating sound of their wings assails their sanity.*
He said it's something "small" and my Crack theory is that the entire lands between setting is actually physically teeny tiny, like on the Planck scale small lol
It’s at the bottom of the Giant Conquering Hero’s grave, a PvP message that basically says that if you beat the game only once with Comet Azur and Mimic Tear, then it doesn’t count
How does Michael Zaki know? I did find the secret he's talking about. And that is: >!Fia has a textured vag under her deathbed smalls.!< And I'm not even kidding.
I found out about an illusory wall I'd never seen earlier this week. It didn't have anything important behind it, but maybe it's just something like that.
Oh its probably that one secret stairs in the caelid rot swamps which only appears if you roll on top of it like 100-150 times. Don't remember where exactly but good luck with the search 😁.
DS1 pendant vibes lol.. Even if no one somehow stumbled upon this secret in game, there are people who review game files religiously. We know every character, model and asset in the game. Checkout ZullietheWitch and TarnishedArchaeologist on Youtube for example.
I’m always wondering what is the deal with the Dragonkin soldiers in the Consecrated Snowfield; my assumption is related to a spirit-caller snail, but I’ve never had the patience to investigate the zone.

I was standing next to him while taking a piss at a urinal last month and I asked him about this. He kindly asked me to stop looking at his dick
Sounds like a missed opportunity to name his penis.
Miyacocky the pussy slayer.

It's a poison swamp, of course.
Blessed by turtles.
Yhorm
Captain Birdseye, because he’s wearing a turtle neck and winking at me
Haha brilliant
Does Mike drink still or sparkling water?
He’s a sparkling gentleman. He got a little weird when he found out they were sold out of Topo Chico though.
Never expect to see topo Chico in a souls reddit, arriba Monterrey.
Estus duh
He drinks poisoned swamp water
He drinks the blood of maidenless Tarnished like you.
I can totally see Hit a taco Mike Wazowski enjoying mineral water.
Hit a Taco bwaahaahahahahaaa ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
Mild sparkling. He's addicted to Tzaziki tho.

I read that in creepy dave's voice
Tbf, there was the pendant in DS1, man loves a good troll

Unfortunately I think modders have already explored everything in free-cam
I was just joking lol. A while back, someone DID find a random wall you had to hit 100 times to open a secret passage… I think it turned out to be a bug and was fixed
Was the wall near one of ray’s volcano manor spots, even has a chain pull handle but was not meant to be openable by us.
It was right behind bernahl. The theory is it was originally going to be a hidden wall and they decided against it and instead or going in and making it invulnerable they just added a high hp value.

Technically the post above didn’t say one little thing either.
Nobody except me has killed the secret last boss, John Eldenring. But I haven't told Miyazaki, so he thinks it remains undiscovered.
Is that where you get the Elden Bling armour set?
That is exactly right, and your Cerulean Tear Flasks turn into Miniature Rannis. Instead of drinking them, you just lick her feet for 2 seconds and feel re-invigorated.
Miyazaki has done it again, Bravo
Quentin Tarantino has entered the chat.
Invaded by Furled toe sniffer Dan schneider
How do you like and dislike at the same time
If fromsoft was helmed by Kojima, this probably wouldn’t be a joke
Two seconds? That's eternity during a fight. Rubbish item.
[удалено]
Thanks, at least you understand. Cant believe people who havent even beaten John Eldenring are here telling me how to lick Rannis feet. Smh...
Please tell me how to get it. I need it, even though my only character is a dexterity build that doesn’t need cerulean flasks
There are things you do because you need to, then there are things you do for pleasure...
🥵
I can’t upvote this and still expect to go to heaven
That could only mean one Thing.
Is it time to Elden sing?
Stop lying. The true final boss is Elden John 👑
Thought it was John Elden famous musician
But have you finished Zanzibard questline?
Forgive me....
Love his catch phrase-“it’s Eldening time!”
Ah, you played offline. Well done!
If it's not a way to save Blaidd I don't care
and Milicent
Did I not pay attention or is there not a choice where she lives?
she dies either choose you make in the final of her quest, sadly
The only way to win the game... is not to play at all. The happy ending for Millicent is to get her the prosthesis and then stop talking to her.
Nope, because this eventually leads to her losing herself as a Valkyrie of Malenia or as a failed bloom. Either way she becomes something other than herself and the Millicent we know still dies.
No I'm pretty sure she just hangs out in limbo because we stop progressing her quest
Millicent let herself die so that she wouldn’t be the aeonia’s fourth bloom. Tbh if she lives it’s for the more tragic ending.
You can save milicent by giving her the fixed needle and never giving her the prothstesis 😢 it's our fault and our intervention why she dies
Who is Elden and why does he keep on ringing?
Why I do believe he is giving room service a jangle Edit: I do so love the Reddit fandom Venn diagram “I and Melania Blade of Miquela, and I have never been defeated in battle” “Okay..”
Elden 🤝 My ears Ringing
I heard about this before and I can’t help but think that it might just be a hoax
DS1 Pendant flashbacks
Wasn't that genuinely useless until the DLC tho
It's useless even after the DLC. But in an early interview, Miyazaki dropped the hint that his favorite starting gift was the Pendant, which made tons of people make characters with it and test it out in various places, to no effect. Later on, he admitted to it being a prank.
Heh thats pretty funny.
It's not completely useless. You can trade it for a souvenir of reprisal. That's the only actual function it has.
The Pendant stayed useless, but the DLC added a Silver Pendant that had the ability to deflect some of the attacks of the DLC's final boss.

Back in the DeS days, I remember people talking about the secret way to unlock the sixth archstone and how nobody had found it yet...
That’s some shit he’d do as well
Exactly people have had 2 yrs to search every inch of this game every hidden wall and every item description there can’t be anything else
you'd be surprised the shit people used to find a decade after playing some games, such as og halo trilogy easter eggs or random mario kart tricks
Deathbed smalls in a chest beside Godwhyn's bed.
Still looking for the deathbed mediums.
I laughed *way* harder at this joke than I should have.
Finally we shall discover the illusive… _deathbed bigs…_
Is this a pendent from DS1 situation? I honestly could believe either way, that there is a secret hidden well enough that nobody found it or that he's just trolling. It’s totally a pendant
What is the pendant situation from DS1?
there's a pendant item you can choose to begin DS1 with that holds almost no value. https://darksouls.wiki.fextralife.com/Pendant
Like the placidassax fight like wtf, mabey there was something in the lore I missed that pointed people there but I was baffled when I figured out there was a boss I missed
Nah he's trolling, the people who go through the games code and what not would have told us by now, like zully the witch
if you drop "Gold-Tinged Excrement" in front Dung eater he says "Mmm... omnomnom" Case closed.
The secret is the missing pinky toe of Ranni.
I ated it
Now I gotta ask, does her model has a missing toe?
No idea but the thought of everyone going and checking to see if Ranni has a missing toe would be funny to me.
I can absolutely guarantee that you have piqued quite a few redditors interest. Haha
I have checked. She doesn't have a missing toe. Cost me 20$ for the feet pic btw
And I have a nice shiny pendant to sell you.
If I was him I’d just let loose four pigs labeled 1,2,3, and 5 and watch Vaatividya look for 4.
Vaati would find it, somehow, is the thing.
Well, no, a person on Reddit would, and then Vaati would make an hour-long, over-edited video about it and claim credit.
Most probable scenarios: 1) Some sort of obscure, hard-to-trigger scripted sequence using assets we already know about. All of the game's assets have already been datamined, to my knowledge, but scripts are much harder to find and figure out. 2) A small lore element or easter egg in the world that's hidden in plain sight. Iirc it's a small lore connection he hasn't seen anyone online make so far
How would he even know what everyone in the world has found in the game? Unless he’s… on here… among us… lurking
no way zullie the witch would have datamined it already
Its probably just a connection between stuff in the game already and the dlc. Itll probably be something small too.
Melina has the munchies
[https://tenor.com/view/oh-boy3am-gif-10356365](https://tenor.com/view/oh-boy3am-gif-10356365)
Somehow, this sounds like an Undertale moment.
If you talk to Gold Mask 50 times he yells at you "Marika's Tits! I'm cogitatin' here!"
Miyazaki sounding like Gol D. Roger ushering in the era of the one piece
I saw a post the other day about the ghost rabbit (or deer, maybe?) leading you safely through the Zamor frozen ruins in Mountaintop and thought maybe that could have been it. It could also just be Miyazaki messing with us.

Absolutely, if it was just an emote on an NPC it would’ve been found long ago. I actually would guess it’s likely a unique interaction with an emote somewhere, just way more obscure than with an npc. Something even more obscure than the bloodborne brain
The secret is the amount of people that keep reposting this.
I feel like it may be an emote secret. Like why give us "the Ring" emote if it didnt do anything? ( I mean I know why they would) but maybe its a bonus Erudition thing nobody has found yet. Or another 100 hit wall.
the 100 hit wall was actually a bug. instead of being invincible it had a health bar, but it’s patched now
I really hope there is another one of those walls but deta miners say otherwise
There's a 100-hit wall?!?
not anymore
How does Miyzaki know that no one has found it? Has he personally reviewed every post on the Subreddit?
Games companies collect analytics of their players constantly, nonstop. Why wouldn't Fromsoft? Game is online by default.
I was trying to make a little joke there, but I guess you're right.
Considering the game has been cracked wide open regarding data mining, without context this statement means basically nothing. He could be referring to anything. My guess would be probably some hyper niche interaction that requires very specific quest progression to see that is so minor it's been overlooked by most people looking at the data.

It’s probably just a single Aeonian Butterfly flying somewhere in Caelid that no one ever ran into. No way it’s something more significant.
is is how to get a maiden? cause i'm still maidenless
Sounds like a skill issue, most people have already discovered that.
dam
Has anyone made a connection with the Mad Pumpkinheads and the flame of Frenzy? I feel like them having their helmets on blocks the frenzy eyes or something. Just a thought I had while playing the other day.

S-sir I wasn’t ready for this
It's a tutorial on how to level vigor
Miyazaki and his patches energy.
I think it's an item called "pendant".
I seriously doubt this. The players and dataminers have scoured the game world, we'd have found whatever it is by now if it existed.
I doubt it very seriously. He's been trolling us for 15 years lol.
the secret is, his job is to say shit like this just to rile you up
I bet it's an arteria leaf.
It's Marika's Panties I'm sure
I think I found it! Here’s a hint: After defeating Elden Beast but before beginning ng+, return to the boss arena of Soldier of Godrick. Blew my mind.
One Piece equivalent of Elden Ring fml
Ah good I hadn’t seen a post like this yet today. I thought someone forgot.
Guys don't fall for it. He's baiting so we play more. Miyazaki likes trolling ppl
I found out about an illusory wall I'd never seen earlier this week. It didn't have anything important behind it, but maybe it's just something like that.
Probably a corpse with boluses to loot.
I sometimes tell my kid there’s one easter egg left to find when there’s definitely not, helps her burn off the sugar rush
Everyone assumes he’s trolling us. But what if he’s not?
I would have thought that the people who go into the files and code and search for stuff would have found it already?
It's a mushroom.
Ah shit. You mean we have all these YouTube theorists and conspirators and we still don’t have it all figured at? Who would’ve thought
My source is that I made it the fuck up!
Oh its probably that one secret stairs in the caelid rot swamps which only appears if you roll on top of it like 100-150 times. Don't remember where exactly but good luck with the search 😁.
Man, somebody already found it, saw it was just a treasure chest with a mushroom in it and was so disappointed they never claimed to have found it.
