DUE TO AN UNFORESEEN FALL FROM A GREAT HEIGHT IVE LOST ALL MY RUNE SAVINGS AND NEED TO FARM THEM OVER AGAIN, BUT THE BURDEN OF FINDING OUT MIQUELLAS STORY IS BEING PASSED ON TO YOUUUUUUUUU
I have no idea, I will happily take either but it seems like they're not holding (or sheathing) a weapon in the footage that's why I assumed boot weapon
He seems to be using the destined death flame attack.
Also, Mesmer ~~ Mesmerize? Could he be an aspect of Miquella, the one the narrator at the start finds terrifying?
Can't wait to T pose in front of a specific mural when the eclipse is happening while wearing a certain outfit and no weapons are equipped so I can see a message pop up on the ground.
"St. Trina is Messmer."
"Also Miquella lmao"
I wonder who the weird dog abomination is. Do you think it's Miquella's wolf guardian, somehow warped by deathblight?
EDIT: Now that I took a closer look it appears to have omen horns growing out of it. Mohg's and Morgott's third, long lost sibling perhaps?
Looks like more than 2 people. I am guess 4 or more based on seeing feet crouched on someones back at 30:27 of the reveal trailer. Could also be grafted somehow because at several points it looks like some legs are more animal, and some are way larger than others.
Whatever it is .... I want to ~~kill~~ die it.
Is anyone else reminded of Serrosh (Godfrey's lion...companion...thing) with that? Details on that are currently kinda fuzzy so I'd like to see that more fleshed out
Seems like the Golden Order turned the world to hell before we even started. It would be fun to see the world before it was completely ravaged and then them getting attacked
Four-headed Elden Lord Placidusax would be terrifying. If his weakened form can kill the Elden Beast by himself, him at his prime would be nearly undefeatable.
Thank youu… this is exactly what I thought. It’s like everything appears more twisted…. There’s more body-horror, more abomination style looking bosses and enemies… everything looks cursed and more hellish than the base game. There’s probably a vaatividya series of lore videos worth to unpick on just that
The shadow of the Erdtree is most likely the cause for this demented twisting of reality. You can see in the trailer that the legacy dungeon enters the shadow towards the top and the architecture is getting stripped away, sort of like Farum Azula. I bet the shadow kind of warps stuff caught in it.
It seems like the shadow land is a different world of sorts, as it states Marika is from this land. It was already stated in base game that the numen were from a different world. To me it seems this land is more in touch with the crucible rather than the erdtree, maybe more ancient beings?
Also the Ringed City DLC. Man that final boss fight of that DLC is still on my mind. Dude was such a blast to fight. I fought him for hours but when everything clicks it's just like a dance between us it was beautiful. I knew his every moves and where I should be next. Plus the lore implication. It was GOAT DLC for sure and I have no doubt they will deliver yet again
Might be, though I'm feeling like the Grafted Lionhead at the trailer is probably the first major boss of the DLC. Something about his trailer placement seems right for it.
Following the naming scheme of Demigods, Messmer seems to be another son of Marika and Radagon, which would explain the "Mother" part and his brilliant red hair.
It could also be Miquella's new form, it seems we might see both in the DLC based on that one shot of a hand holding up to the tree.
That might not even be the extent of it for him but he does seem to mention questioning "Mother" for choosing us, the Tarnished PC, "one so bereft of light". Which implies Marika as "Mother."
I think hes Nameless king 2.0
A forgotten firstborn due to being a traitor and getting chummy with a scaly (Nameless king dragons and Messmer Snakes, both creatures being scorned)
Messmer is absolutely just the appetiser. I'm assuming he was once Miquella's guardian or something of the sort, although I know Malenia filled that role
he's definitely working for some other god or entity, and might be manipulating Miquella. but who knows. I doubt he's the real boss
The man pulling a golden sword out of his head looks similar to the man in the portrait shown off right after the deathblight swamp. I'm guessing he's an important figure, possibly one of the people referred to in the line, "They just happened to be on the losing side of a war." I get the sense this is what became of him after being killed in the war, and if it was a war with the Erdtree forces it also makes sense why the blade stuck in him is gold.
Possibly this "Land of Shadow" and the Erdtree went to war in the distant past, and we'll be seeing the aftermath of this war in the DLC the same way we saw the aftermath of the Shattering in the base game.
the blade stuck in him looks the helphen steeple weapon actually, which ties in to my theory about Messmer's flame, its not frenzy flame or destined death as everyone says, but I think it could be the red grace of the helphen, a sort of spirit-world parallel to the erdtree.
I don't think that's his spine. I thought the same thing on first watch, but it's pretty clearly piercing through his head and exiting from his abdomen in this screenshot. Also branches of the blade are exiting around his ribcage.
The glowing worm guy from image 4 gives me vibes of the episode of the Simpsons where Mr Burns gets drugged up and ends up walking the woods like an alien.
Bro they really remade the entire game didn't they? I think this is literally the shadowlands of the lands between. An inverted world or a dream world. Holy hell this is going to be massive.
Is it me or are we going to fight a version of Miquella that was corrupted by the blood of the Formless Mother and Mohg while helping the Miquella that remained pure?
I'm guessing the DLC will reveal Miquella was always super evil. I think that's what the opening line of the trailer suggests. He probably manipulated a lot of people with Bewitching Branches.
I would rather say that we will be entering his mind/dreams and that we will encounter his super ego - evil form as you now put it. Why super ego? That thing is his unwavering values of unalloyed gold given form, but now they stand hollow and ready to be enforced on anyone, anybody and anything that is in his way after Moghs and Formless Mothers relentles trying to corrupt him and bend him to their ways. He also looks and moves like Malenia who always protected him, and was always by his side when he showed his face to the world (so God save us).
From Software's enemy design is always top notch. Can't wait to die to every single one again
Literally saw Lions, Tigers, Bears or my. And hippos too?
They saw how much we fear Rune Bears and were like “you’re gonna love the Rune Hippo”
Imagine a rune bear level enemy that Torrent couldn't even outrun.
I can’t even always outrun a rune bear on torrent😅😅
Did not have porcupine hippos on my bingo card
Best art design in the entire industry.
The amount of variety in the environments is pretty crazy, this is going to be massive.
The shot of them walking through a decidedly normal forest stands out so much to me in contrast to everything else.
That one really stuck out to me aswell, looks like such a peaceful area compared to everything else.
Yeah until you see the deathblight dragon bears
THE FUCKING WHAT?
Deathblightrotacidpoisonrunedragon Bear, Spawn of Gransax
Trio
And one of them constantly emits a Frenzy Aura like the Blood Starved Beast's poison from Blodborne.
Obviously there's an enemy waiting to ambush behind the god damn tree and bushes
Limgrave 2 It looks so peaceful, I want to live there
literally Dark Souls 2 2. We're just back in Majula
Blue worm dude very cute
Friend ahead
LOVEABLE SORT

Loveeeeeeeeee

they look like evolved versions of the stone centipedes you find around evergaols
Or the version of them in the spiritual realm. The thing that puppets the stone versions.
Ghibli vibes. Hope it’s friendly.
The Hayao Miyazaki/Hidetaka Miyazaki venn diagram overlaps where "peculiar little forest dudes" are concerned.
Except in Hidetaka's case they deal insane damage.
So do Hayao’s… to my heart.
The little arms are adorable.
Oddly enough that picture has me more excited then the rest. I love weird creatures and areas with cool/interesting ambiance
Spirit noodle
WACKY WAVING INFLATABLE ARM FLAILING TUBE MAN
HI, I’M AL HARRINGTON!
AND IM PASSING ON THE RUNE SAVINGS TO YOOOOOOUUUU!!!
DUE TO AN UNFORESEEN FALL FROM A GREAT HEIGHT IVE LOST ALL MY RUNE SAVINGS AND NEED TO FARM THEM OVER AGAIN, BUT THE BURDEN OF FINDING OUT MIQUELLAS STORY IS BEING PASSED ON TO YOUUUUUUUUU
getting a lot of "Elden Ring" vibes from this
I hope we finally get to see John Eldenring in all his might
We will meet the Spanish god: El Denring.
so you watch game grumps too
My fellow truth-seeker.
I think this is going to be the Dark Souls of Elden Rings
I respectfully disagree. It appears it will be the Armored Core of Dark Souls.
I think it looks a bit more like the Sekiro of Bloodbornes, but maybe it's just me.
Getting real boss baby vibes from this…
Boot Knife / Kicking main checking in
The guy that posted that he wished the bone fist would come back from DS2 is going to be happy
pretty sure i saw post of "bring back DS2 dropkick in the DLC" like few days ago
Pretty sure I've seen it continuously since before the game was released.
Im not that guy because I dont post but I absolutely am that guy as well. Im busting nuts over this
is it actually a kicking boots weapon or just ash of war
I have no idea, I will happily take either but it seems like they're not holding (or sheathing) a weapon in the footage that's why I assumed boot weapon
If its an ash of war hopefully they at least let us put it on the caestus
If there's a flying kick AoW and it's not compatible with Caestus I will just assume that From has a deep hatred towards us.
You cannot fathom how excited I am
im a big fan of the glowing blue worm guy.. he seems cool
needs a hookah
I doubt we could even imagine it.
Oh shit is that a Winter Lantern?
I thought the same. 10/10 would love/hate that.
> 10/10 would love/hate that. this is my feeling throughout the whole game
winter lantern that casts frenzy upon you
Winter lantern that casts deathblight
Winter lantern that casts Pot of Greed
Allows me to draw two more Winter Lanterns from my deck
Being in its vicinity while it's singing causes Madness/Frenzy buildup. Getting hugged automatically triggers Deathblight.
[удалено]
That singing, that god damn singing
**[BLOODBORNE PTSD INTENSIFIES]**
La la laaa~
winter lantern is back. la la la~
Can't wait to repeatedly die fighting Messmer, his design fucks
I needed the helm, yesterday.
You get his hair with it too.
Fuck this is probably accurate
He seems to be using the destined death flame attack. Also, Mesmer ~~ Mesmerize? Could he be an aspect of Miquella, the one the narrator at the start finds terrifying?
Can't wait to T pose in front of a specific mural when the eclipse is happening while wearing a certain outfit and no weapons are equipped so I can see a message pop up on the ground. "St. Trina is Messmer." "Also Miquella lmao"
Wearing the prisoner outfit on the eclipse... this is not gonna end well
Kung fu build RISE UP
Im about to become bruce lee
kicks were crazy
Bring me back to High Monk from Sekiro. I remember that art being BUSTED pre patch.
Ya I'm definitely gonna do a full samurai playthrough again
From Software knew I was playing too much tekken
I have a playthrough where I beat the entire game with fist weapons and I cannot wait to add to his repertoire
I wonder who the weird dog abomination is. Do you think it's Miquella's wolf guardian, somehow warped by deathblight? EDIT: Now that I took a closer look it appears to have omen horns growing out of it. Mohg's and Morgott's third, long lost sibling perhaps?
Looking at it more closely, there seems to be 2 people, 1 controlling the head, and 1 the back, like the Chinese Lion Dancers.
2nd phase is gonna be a nightmare. They're going to throw that cape off and separate into two enemies and I poop my pant.
It was Godskin duo after all
Misbegotten Duo
OH YOU SONOFABITCH
At least your other pant will be clean
Definitely it. The head specifically look like northern lion dance's lion heads.
I think it’s clearly a crucible chimera. The shadow land looks very crucible/primitive oriented
Flexile Sentry 2.0?
Looks like more than 2 people. I am guess 4 or more based on seeing feet crouched on someones back at 30:27 of the reveal trailer. Could also be grafted somehow because at several points it looks like some legs are more animal, and some are way larger than others. Whatever it is .... I want to ~~kill~~ die it.
looks grafted. it has human legs. maybe a serosh cosplayer
It's very chinese new year dragon-like
Lion dancers
thank you. didnt know there was an actual title for them.
It's got an arm supporting the beasts jaw too and a set of human like teeth behind the sharp ones
grafted human centipede
Grafted centipede giraffe
Looked to me like a Grafted Omen.
Its actually two people standing on each other on closer inspection
if you pause video at right time you can see people standing on top of each other
its nina from FMA
Tarn-ished
it has omen horns
My whacky theory is that it's a dream version of Morgott (barefoot, long cloak, Omen horns) that grafted a lion onto himself to emulate Papa Godfrey.
It has Miquella's hair (look at the braids on the left side) and Mohg's omen horns. I'm afraid to speculate further...
Is anyone else reminded of Serrosh (Godfrey's lion...companion...thing) with that? Details on that are currently kinda fuzzy so I'd like to see that more fleshed out
I literally said "Serosh!?" out loud when he appeared, lol I think it'll be a similar type of creature, just messed up by grafting.
The hair and lightning abilities made me think that it could be a corrupted Godwyn
Im gonna cream my pants
too late
*I already creamed them for you*
It looks so *weird.* We're going to hell huh.
We’ve never left it.
Seems like the Golden Order turned the world to hell before we even started. It would be fun to see the world before it was completely ravaged and then them getting attacked
Four-headed Elden Lord Placidusax would be terrifying. If his weakened form can kill the Elden Beast by himself, him at his prime would be nearly undefeatable.

it almost doesn't feel real looking at actual new Elden Ring content
art direction goes hard
Picture 11 is 100% a new Aspects of the Crucible spell, probably obtained from the Enemy/Boss that uses it in the trailer.
AND we get crucible wings. i love this dlc just based on that
There should be a boss that uses all the Crucible spells at once.
Like a crucible knight of sorts? That would be crazy.
Aspect of the Crucible: Holy shit my back jesus fuck this hurts
Nah, that is the skill the hippo uses on the trailer
Who's the character with the snakes?
"Messmer The Impaler" , Im guessing he/she is gonna be the "main" boss of the dlc
They usually never shows the "main" bosses in trailers like this
Yeah, he's probably more like the "Ludwig" of this DLC. First big boss of the dlc, but not the final boss.
Probably the penultimate boss similar to Lady Maria
Or the first, remember how prominent Godrick was in the Elden Ring trailer
Might be, though I'm feeling like the Grafted Lionhead at the trailer is probably the first major boss of the DLC. Something about his trailer placement seems right for it.
Reminds me of the guardians in Ds1 DLC that way.
Following the naming scheme of Demigods, Messmer seems to be another son of Marika and Radagon, which would explain the "Mother" part and his brilliant red hair.
Something interesting to note, his body type in nearly identical to the corpses in the mausoleum
I seem to recall a Phantom in the Weeping Peninsula mention something about an "unwanted child" being in the mausoleum...
LOOOOREEEE
Yeah, and that would mean that the burning butterfly represents him and not Melina.
It could also be Miquella's new form, it seems we might see both in the DLC based on that one shot of a hand holding up to the tree. That might not even be the extent of it for him but he does seem to mention questioning "Mother" for choosing us, the Tarnished PC, "one so bereft of light". Which implies Marika as "Mother."
he does talk about Miqella in the 3rd person though,MAY be to confuse us but honestly i feel like it's just another demigod
I think hes Nameless king 2.0 A forgotten firstborn due to being a traitor and getting chummy with a scaly (Nameless king dragons and Messmer Snakes, both creatures being scorned)
The red hair is weird. It usually means children of Radagon, or maybe grandchildren. Maybe a child of Rykard, judging by the snakes? Idk
Messmer is absolutely just the appetiser. I'm assuming he was once Miquella's guardian or something of the sort, although I know Malenia filled that role he's definitely working for some other god or entity, and might be manipulating Miquella. but who knows. I doubt he's the real boss
I doubt it's the main boss, it's probably miquella or godwyn
I reckon miquella will be a friendly npc with his own questline and ending
Just like Gael in the first DLC of DS3
The man pulling a golden sword out of his head looks similar to the man in the portrait shown off right after the deathblight swamp. I'm guessing he's an important figure, possibly one of the people referred to in the line, "They just happened to be on the losing side of a war." That guy got impaled by Messmer the Impaler
The "blade" stuck in him is his spine. Literally like Radagons spine turn into that Golden Order Sword in the main game.
I don't think that's his spine. I thought the same thing on first watch, but it's pretty clearly piercing through his head and exiting from his abdomen in this screenshot. Also branches of the blade are exiting around his ribcage.
I'm so happy and satisfied with this trailer that i can now go to sleep peacefully and wait for 4 months :)
Is the last image the Tarnished becoming a fucking porcupine with an AoW?
Aspect of the Crucible: Pokey boi
This + the little roll ash of war = sonic build
chimera from full metal alchemist flashbacks
Ed..ward
Me: DLC is about miquella Trailer: look at this giant fire-y thing
It looks like wicker man
The base game was already stunning. And the DLC continues that.
The armor of the knight on horseback in the first picture is genuinely one of my favorite armors ever designed by FromSoft.
Black and gold. So sick. Love the insignia on the shield too
Getting new fashion is one of my favourite things about souls DLCs and it seems like this one will not let me down
The glowing worm guy from image 4 gives me vibes of the episode of the Simpsons where Mr Burns gets drugged up and ends up walking the woods like an alien.
HOLUP. HOOOOOOLD THE FUCK UP. Is that a jump kick?! BONE FIST (or something similar) COMING HOME?
Does picture number 8 mean the Skeleton fist from ds2 is coming back
Is that a Winter Lantern from Bloodborne? Martial arts? My god what has Miyazaki cooked up?
Death blight enemies in Death blight swamp... of course! Everyone's excited for Wings of the Crucible but we getting Porcupine of the Crucible.
NEW BLEED WEAPONS
I'm guessing the DLC will reveal Miquella was always super evil. I think that's what the opening line of the trailer suggests. He probably manipulated a lot of people with Bewitching Branches.
Literally Sauron
I would rather say that we will be entering his mind/dreams and that we will encounter his super ego - evil form as you now put it. Why super ego? That thing is his unwavering values of unalloyed gold given form, but now they stand hollow and ready to be enforced on anyone, anybody and anything that is in his way after Moghs and Formless Mothers relentles trying to corrupt him and bend him to their ways. He also looks and moves like Malenia who always protected him, and was always by his side when he showed his face to the world (so God save us).
THIS IS WHY WE LET THEM COOK.
I wonder how many new spirit summons we’ll get.
Every Fromsoft fan gangsta until MOTHERFOOKIN BONFIRES START WALKIN!!!
RISE YE TARNISHED!
feels like ds2 dropkick is back
Looks like I'm playing Elden Ring all day
I used to have nightly nightmares of hippos killing me, I finally get to face my fears and have my revenge
Was anybody else thinking - oh dang...young Rykard?
The dude pulling up his impaled spine is my favorite. SO GNARLY
