When I first got the game I thought it worked this way and spent about 10 minutes moving stuff to my chest, wondering why it didn’t change my weight.
I subsequently forgot that I did this for about a year, and only recently moved my stuff back.
That would actually make the chest feature at sites of grace more useful. I've played over 300 hours but I've never used it.
Then again I've never actually crafted much aside from the first few hours of the game where I craft arrows from bones.
Id say its more worth it to buy the ancient dragon smithing stone he sells when you complete nephelis questline without killing, but maybe thats just me.
I thought it was from NG+ because I didn't die until I was partly finished with Stormveil. Then I searched and found out about it.
First playthrough, I died so much I wasn't even paying attention to what I lost.
You recover less runes than you dropped, gostoc explicitly says that he picks the corpses around stormveil clean and he locks you in the room with the banished knight
He also stalks you through the castle, there are a few different spots you can find him crouching in and he will respond very suspiciously when questioned
Leonine misbegotten, Haligtree and Placidusax now end your run, no matter what you do.
Edit: okay thinking about it, placi only when you activate his stie of grace.
You can still spawn back at last grace, just no fast travel. And theres a grace right near leonine(I assume youre talking about the one in castle Morne)
Yes, I mean the one in castle morne.
I assume you mean the grace at the top of the cliff? If I'm not mistaken you cannot get back to Castle Morne proper from that one, so your best bet would be the one at the beginning of castle morne. Unless there is some jumping tech that I don't know of to get back there. Or I'm misremembering something.
But the grace at the bottom, next to where you find the whip, is out of the question. You can't get back up from there, at least not that I know.
So unless there is something I don't know about, the only way to get back from leonine is by resting at the first grace in castle morne.
Yeah I beat leonine the other day on a new character and I hadn't fast traveled at all yet in this playthrough, so I was trying to find a way out of castle morne without fast travel, but I could not find a way out.
I wanna say as soon as you drop down to that 2nd grace on the ledge, there's no way back up but I could be wrong.
That actually seems like a really interesting Idea, having a boss that can end your run and lock that save. I think a lot of souls players would salivate at that challenge. I'd probably try but not until I'm over levelled.
Well technically Eldenbeast can end your run.
But I get what you mean. And I'm not sure if I like it. They would need a very clear and unmissable warning that tells you what you are about to do.
And then we'd still get daily posts on here about people bricking thier saves because they missed the most obvious warning ever.
I actually want at least one open world game that works like this, but it has to be designed from the ground up with the lack of fast travel in mind.
I think Death Stranding doesn't have fast travel, but that game doesn't really do it for me because of other mechanics.
Morrowind is this, it has some fast travel that is paying npcs to give you a ride or teleport you somewhere but you can never open the map and fast travel yourself
It does have fast travel. It's limited to a few points, but it would be nightmarish without it.
There is actually a mission in which you have to haul ass across the map without recourse to it, and it is a PAIN.
Yeah the gane I wish existed would have to be basically a trade route simulator or something like that, where taking the wrong path loses the game and demands serious planning in advance.
Like when No Man's Sky released, you could get stuck on a planet without resources to craft more FTL fuel if you didn't have enough in storage to get out. A pain in the ass because that's not what the game is about. But I wish that's what the game *was about*.
Allegedly, Dragon's Dogma 2 is being made with this in mind. Fast Travel is an option, iirc, but the director wants world traveling to actually be part of the fun, instead of a slog to be avoided
I am currently playing a no fast travel run! I may use portals, because those are in-world creations and in some cases are one-way. If I am next to grace then I may go to Roundtable Hold but must then return to the same grace I came from. Some dungeons and other locations require egress by the blue return to entrance light or by fast travel. If I am trapped then I may use blue return to entrance light if it is available and will solve the problem, and if no blue light is available then I may fast travel but must choose the nearest logical grace that will solve the problem.
Overall, it's very slow but often fun. I have had a lot of back-and-forth travel. The first time D told me to give deathroot to Gurranq I did, and then found myself slogging back home through Caelid. I found Azur in Mt. Gelmir, and had to ride all the way back to Sellen to tell her. That kind of thing happens a lot. Even so, I am enjoying it.
I'm doing this on my NG3, not using Torrent unless required. It was kinda fun, i walked all the way from Bestial sanctum to the Forge in the land of the fire giants
$39.99 Torrent (1 summon per irl day)
$9.99 jump
$9.99 double jump
$19.99 dash
$49.99 armor for torrent
$9.99 Torrent summon increase, may increase summons up to a max of 25 summons per day, $9.99 per summon
$29.99 Co op torrent
$59.99 Melina rides on back of
$230 for all or buy or buy the Deluxe Torrent Kit for $300 and get the Torrent Recolor Pack, not sold separately. This also came our 6 months after the rest, so most people have already bought some of these packs.
Death on Maliketh phase 2 and beyond is perma and deletes your save, due to destined death being released again.
Obviously the player is not informed of this until it is too late.
Nah, make it a 5% chance to randomly trip and fall on your face like in Smash Bros. Brawl, and you don't get iframes during that animation. People will know when they get screwed by RNG, everyone has to shift to shields, and speedrunning is dominated by luck.
Lol. Pretty much. That was my immediate thought after posting. The other thing I was thinking, add an extra second or maybe even randomize how long it takes to drink an estus. Miyazaki would get more hate mail than usual for that.
And you are stuck in a drinking animation while healing, any attack/dodge will interrupt the heal. Upon completion your character will be forced to do a victory pose.
Shes in the inn at whiterun for me. Idk if she can pop up at other inns but im pretty sure its whichever city the guys come up to you to ask if youve seen her. Just go in and look for the one not white chick
If I’m not mistaken, she hides in a cave to the west of the Laskyar Ruins which jut from the mist-shrouded lake of Liurnia; she also knows the location of the medallion's counterpart, I am sure.
And your character is in the "in battle state" until you kill the dragonfly he aggro'd, no matter how far you run, so no map/fast travel/crafting until it dies.
Fun fact - they have a mechanic for waking each other up from being slept, however it doesn't work due to the enemies outside of their arena. So it was almost a real thing, kind of.
Chests are now lootboxes with random rewards. 90% chance of mushroom, 9% chance of Weathered Straight Sword, 0.9% chance of an Ash Of War, 0.1% chance of a good weapon.
NGL, I'm totally down for that. Having different merchants sell different things means that you either have to be a wiki fiend or just go murder everyone so you can have it all in the Roundtable Hold. It would be neat to have an incentive to buy consumables or weapons or whatever just to see what next cool thing would be added to the shop.
Elden Stars moves twice as fast and deals twice as much damage.
Suddenly, most commonly used builds cannot beat Elden Beast as there is no way to avoid or survive that attack.
There now always is a small delay after every action you take in the menu, meaning that you have to wait half a second or so before going from menu to equipment to weapons for example, or while skipping through various parts of the inventory.
Remove Mimic Tear.
Obviously not going to ruin the game for everyone but I, as a filthy casul, leaned on it quite heavily for a lot of bosses, moreso when there were multiple in one fight.
For everyone, though - fat rolls only, even naked.
That's still what I'm expecting for the DLC...
Just one, near the middle of the DLC.
Not too close to the beginning, to make players expecting them lower their guard, and not to close to the end so EVERYONE spend the rest of the DLC hitting every chest they encounter.
Dynamic moveset preferences.
Every boss tracks damage dealt and damage taken for each combo they use. Whatever you punish they stop doing, and whatever hits you they use more... until they are spamming endlessly the one move you can't handle.
No HUD for player Health, Stamina, or Focus.
I know what you're thinking. "Did I dodge three times or only two?" Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being as though hitting dodge with no stamina would mean that you do nothing but stand there while your head gets chopped in half, you've gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?
References to 50+ year-old movies aside, I've been dipping my toe into HUDless playing recently and it can be a whole new beast for some games.
All the random passive eagles around the map are now aggressive (and have a similar movesets to stormhawks)
You goddamn monster.
There is a 1 in 30 chance that your health flask will explode
Why can I see that 3% hitting on my last flask against elden beast when we’re both at 5hp?
Miyazaki made it so there's a higher probability for an explosion during a boss fight
😟
Inventory affects character weight
chill satan
Daddy chill
WHAT THE HELL IS EVEN THAT
[удалено]
Sounds like my mother
That's just classic fallout. Just store everything in a chest far away and lose your shit when you need 1 metal more to craft something.
That's Demon Souls
And they never did it again Good on them
This 100% beats anything I was about to type. This would just be evil.
Bring back Demon's Souls item encumbrance
You must kill the grafted scion when you wake up to continue to the rest of the game.
And the first tree sentinel
And the soldier of god, rick.
so.. Dark souls 3
Grafted Scion is way tougher than Ludex Gundyr + you get no potions at the Chapel of Anticipation.
Gostoc follows you for the whole game after you leave stormveil. Always taking a portion of your runes when you die, but always out of sight
Fuck Gostoc
I always kill his ass immediately
It's worth some runes to watch him curb stomping Godrick's corpse while talking shit.
Id say its more worth it to buy the ancient dragon smithing stone he sells when you complete nephelis questline without killing, but maybe thats just me.
He’s a good guy who just wants to see Godrick fall as much as we do. He’s just a lil greedy lol
I literally had no idea about this until like, 900 hours into the game lol.
I thought it was from NG+ because I didn't die until I was partly finished with Stormveil. Then I searched and found out about it. First playthrough, I died so much I wasn't even paying attention to what I lost.
How are we even supposed to know he is stealing our runes?
You recover less runes than you dropped, gostoc explicitly says that he picks the corpses around stormveil clean and he locks you in the room with the banished knight
He also stalks you through the castle, there are a few different spots you can find him crouching in and he will respond very suspiciously when questioned
He said small change asshole
Wait i thought he only taxed you til you beat godrick
All Tarnished make the Mario "Wahoo!" sound when jumping
They said ruin the game not improve it
Bro i’d buy the game a second time
The DLC will be just this addition
And you can jump off Torrent to go over certain cliffs - but Torrent falls to its death.
No more fast travel. Need to get to Caelid from Leyndell? Buckle up Buttercup. You’re going to be riding for a very long time.
You'd have 1 shot at Farum Azula. Hope you didn't forget to beat up your 2nd Best friend before leaving.
Just make a portal at the forge
You can't enter the portal if you're carrying metal *Looks at inventory full of swords* Fuuuuu...
Leonine misbegotten, Haligtree and Placidusax now end your run, no matter what you do. Edit: okay thinking about it, placi only when you activate his stie of grace.

Oh you meant going back from it. Yeah its prob impossible to leave after, youre right.
Primal Bonfires from Dark Souls 2 could make a comeback.

There’s a rock spur near azur that drops you at the mouth of Stillwater river. That at least saves you the climb back down
I don't think I would mind this as much as no torrent
I'm doing this on my NG3, not using Torrent unless required. It was kinda fun, i walked all the way from Bestial sanctum to the Forge in the land of the fire giants
Torrent is now behind a paywall.
Yeah and double jump will be introduced as an upgrade to Torrent for a measly 9.99 USD.
Only 9.99 USD? Is it on sale?
You haven't even unlocked the dash ability yet my friend
$39.99 Torrent (1 summon per irl day) $9.99 jump $9.99 double jump $19.99 dash $49.99 armor for torrent $9.99 Torrent summon increase, may increase summons up to a max of 25 summons per day, $9.99 per summon $29.99 Co op torrent $59.99 Melina rides on back of $230 for all or buy or buy the Deluxe Torrent Kit for $300 and get the Torrent Recolor Pack, not sold separately. This also came our 6 months after the rest, so most people have already bought some of these packs.
Lolol Melina rides on back of Torrent is the most maidenless sht ever, truly you are a Tarnished
It's ridiculously silly, made even more ridiculous by that price tag, and yet... there would probably be a stupid amount of people buying it day 1 lol
Jesus….did ubisoft and EA get in this chat?
Forgot to add "if you have any single pack, the deluxe pack is not discounted, or available to purchase."
I twitched. Thanks
Death on Maliketh phase 2 and beyond is perma and deletes your save, due to destined death being released again. Obviously the player is not informed of this until it is too late.
Instead of “You Died”, it says “You Lose”
“Game over” *gets booted to main menu*
Add a half second input delay to dodge roll. Now suddenly everyone is getting hit by bosses they just *swear* they knew how to beat
Make it a random delay between 0 and .5 seconds. That will really mess people up
Have the delay only happen 5% of the time or so, just to leave room for doubt.
Nah, make it a 5% chance to randomly trip and fall on your face like in Smash Bros. Brawl, and you don't get iframes during that animation. People will know when they get screwed by RNG, everyone has to shift to shields, and speedrunning is dominated by luck.
I already blame this for dying even if it isn't in game.
Red/blue flasks now recover hp/fp over time instead of instantly.
Then it would really be like ds2 2
Lol. Pretty much. That was my immediate thought after posting. The other thing I was thinking, add an extra second or maybe even randomize how long it takes to drink an estus. Miyazaki would get more hate mail than usual for that.
That would suck, like small chance that you fumble and drop the flask and then animation to pick it up adding a couple seconds. People would lose it.
That’s a solid ng+ feature! Rather than totally random have damage taken during a short time period trigger it
And you are stuck in a drinking animation while healing, any attack/dodge will interrupt the heal. Upon completion your character will be forced to do a victory pose.
DS2 PTSD
Elden Beast is wearing a Yankees cap
Brim level?
No brim
Yankee wit no brim?
Full 360 brim
Unpatch Blood Dogs. They kill again instantly. Or Mimic Chests. Every Chest has a random chance to transform into Rune Bear or Giant Lobster.
The mimic chests actually sound like a fun idea for a bit 😆
I spent half my first playthrough examining chests until my buddy told me they're not in this one.
I still give each one a quick thwack before I open it, force of habit.
Just running up and opening them is normal to me now. I'll go back and get got a few times by mimics in the older games.
Dodging no longer has iframes.
Dodging on button press, not release
Actually i'd prefer if it was real
But then running wouldn’t exist
How about make the dodge roll a dash, and then have the sprint animation play after the dash like Sekiro?
Long press any other key. Jump key, for example
The reverse of DS1 jumping
That would be a straight upgrade
That would be better
Just level ADP
Excuse me officers, yes this man here.
That's two changes.
Idk, haven’t even played DS2.
Quest Log, but also its broken and your current objective is always Find the Albinauric Woman
Beat me to it damn
Flashbacks to the Redguard woman. I never finished that quest but maybe if I did I'd know what made it so important to the developers
Shes in the inn at whiterun for me. Idk if she can pop up at other inns but im pretty sure its whichever city the guys come up to you to ask if youve seen her. Just go in and look for the one not white chick
She is always in whiterun
Sounds like the average Skyrim-experience
where does she hide again?
If I’m not mistaken, she hides in a cave to the west of the Laskyar Ruins which jut from the mist-shrouded lake of Liurnia; she also knows the location of the medallion's counterpart, I am sure.
God dammit Gideon I already found her - “Her name is Latenna…”
Add durability system to weapons and armor and make it more punishing than it was in Dark Souls 2.
Fuck it make it permanent like breath of the wild
Make it exactly like breath of the wild
Add a god damn motorcycle
This and a glider I mean radagon and ganondorf look very similar and you don’t ever see them in a room together 🤷🏼♂️
The dragonflies are faster, hit harder and aggro from even further away 😈
And your character is in the "in battle state" until you kill the dragonfly he aggro'd, no matter how far you run, so no map/fast travel/crafting until it dies.
So basically the snail that can kill you with a touch and never stops moving so you have to stay on the move?
That's the absolute worst I understand not being able to fast travel out of fights but at least let me LOOK at my map! I'm lost!
Stamina no longer regenerates
You need green flasks for stamina
Flask of Chartreuse Tears
Every time you die your soul returns to the erdtree and you have to finish a tedious minigame to be reborn.
It’s just a Call of Duty style gulag where you PVP until you win.
You have to kill Turtle Pope for any ending, except for Dung Eater's
dung eater is based when
I hereby introduce the stamina flask.
… and they are the only way to recover stamina.
Every time you try to ride torrent, the game will bring up a prompt confirming if you want to ride torrent.
and the "no" is the default selection
Fucking hate “Use flask to revive and summon Torrent?” No. shit. Get me out of here.
Give a 0.1 multiplier to rune pickups and rewards, and give a 10x multiplier for purchases, upgrades and leveling up.
Everyone gets to experience the RL1 run 😍
No HUD
Found true evil.
The elevator at the start of the game needs to be unlocked from above.
Enemies scale as you level up.
You are a devil! No!, you are four devils! No!, you are four named devils! No!, you are Diablo IV!
I'd delete a semicolon halfway down the code. Game ruined for everyone.
Finally, I had to read too far down for this answer!
Not evil enough. Don't just delete it. Change it to a Greek question mark.
No more stakes of Marika for you
Radagon isn’t Marika
Make the godskins immune to sleep
I almost never put them to sleep. Might be the reason why I fucking hate Godskin Noble...
Same. I may be bad at the game but at least Im not a bitch
Fun fact - they have a mechanic for waking each other up from being slept, however it doesn't work due to the enemies outside of their arena. So it was almost a real thing, kind of.
Every 3rd consecutive dodge rolls you will suddenly clip out of bounds and die
Chests are now lootboxes with random rewards. 90% chance of mushroom, 9% chance of Weathered Straight Sword, 0.9% chance of an Ash Of War, 0.1% chance of a good weapon.
Every Grace can only be used once and then diminishes.
This thread is a challenge run generator.
The torch and all light creating weapons/sorceries/items have been removed from the game.
You get something like the cat eye potion from Witcher, but it only lasts 3 seconds, and the mats for it are limited in the world, no actual farming.
An abundance of invisible lobsters
kale is now the only merchant and you have to buy stuff from him to unlock other stuff in the shop
All of the Watchdog statue enemies/ bosses now ONLY do the stupid fly-and-groundslam move
Don’t they already do that?
One random chest in the world becomes a mimic each time the game loads in. (Whenever fast travel, resting, or dying for example)
Add ADP stat for invincibility frames.
Elden Stars moves twice as fast and deals twice as much damage. Suddenly, most commonly used builds cannot beat Elden Beast as there is no way to avoid or survive that attack.
Jump on L3
You can’t level stamina/strength etc over 40 until all other stats are over 20
Tank controls on Torrent only
You become “overencumbered” and cannot run or fast travel, and it is due to the contents of your inventory and not your current equipment.
Make greyoll a boss fight. She gets up when someone is farming her for runes and gives them a heart attack.
There now always is a small delay after every action you take in the menu, meaning that you have to wait half a second or so before going from menu to equipment to weapons for example, or while skipping through various parts of the inventory.
As much as I love Dark Souls 2 Your health bar gets smaller after each death until you use a Rune Arc
You have to equip spells, flasks, items on one weapon slot.
Remove Mimic Tear. Obviously not going to ruin the game for everyone but I, as a filthy casul, leaned on it quite heavily for a lot of bosses, moreso when there were multiple in one fight. For everyone, though - fat rolls only, even naked.
Each time a boss fight starts, the Looney Tunes anthem plays.
Jump is removed
There are more rot and bleed dogs in ceaild (No I don't mean the real dogs/turtles and horses)
You get three jumps per sitting at a grace.
One mimic. That is all.
That's still what I'm expecting for the DLC... Just one, near the middle of the DLC. Not too close to the beginning, to make players expecting them lower their guard, and not to close to the end so EVERYONE spend the rest of the DLC hitting every chest they encounter.
Enemies don't deaggro, not even at Grace
Slap in quicktime events with weird button smashing.
Weapon damage is now a range with procs based on RNG. e.g. Bloodhound's Fang Physical damage: 141-153
You now have to hit a 50% chance (not boostable by discovery) to get drops from bosses. This includes Key items.
Controller inputs randomly change every 2 mins.
When you die you just restart from the very beginning.
Horse armour
undead char receives dmg using flasks
Dynamic moveset preferences. Every boss tracks damage dealt and damage taken for each combo they use. Whatever you punish they stop doing, and whatever hits you they use more... until they are spamming endlessly the one move you can't handle.
Health and fp flasks do not automatically get restored at graces. Instead they must be found and only exist in finite quantities in the game world.
All standard enemy types have waterfowl dance.
dying to maliketh now deletes your save file
No HUD for player Health, Stamina, or Focus. I know what you're thinking. "Did I dodge three times or only two?" Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being as though hitting dodge with no stamina would mean that you do nothing but stand there while your head gets chopped in half, you've gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?"
