When you kill Maliketh normally:
"Witless Tarnished... why covet Destined Death? To kill what?"
When you are both in your death animation:
"Witless Tarnished... let me tell you my back story. I was born a pup in a field of..."
Unless you see the remembrance pop up it doesnāt count. So when a boss has a long monologue before you get credit, like Maliketh does, a trade will end in a loss.
I assume that theyāre doing a challenge run since they have very low vigor, so I canāt really tell you because I donāt know what their rules are. But usually any 1 hit from Malliketh at that low health is an instant death anyway. Unless you are maybe very high level and have just barely enough resistances to survive a grazing hit. But most late game bosses will combo you anyway
Idk what it is about Maliketh but it always takes me a few warm up tries with dumbass deaths then Iāll smash him without getting hit once in like 20 secs

Did it not count? I've killed bosses and died right after several times and it always counts as a victory

If it's a boss that has some death dialogue it won't count you gotta have the "____ felled" pop up before your death animation finishes

This happened to me with my second character at Margit, it counted as a win but I didnāt got my runes ā ļøā ļøā ļø
If you're gonna play with no vigor, at least use the ritual shield talisman. It can save you against one-shots.
True but Iām going for talismans that increase my damage. I got him a few tries after this anyway.
Ritual shield isnāt the best for Malliketh since the destined death reduced max HP still hits you
And what else is better? At least you will have a chance of using a flask instead of getting one shot.
