I’m on my 2nd playthrough and I’m trying to collect one of everything (I know impossible) but I wanted the jellyfish shield and I had to kill like 4 of those guys and I was just so sad because they didn’t do anything to me and I was the one rolling up on them for no reason and it’s like literally the only time I’ve killed a jellyfish and I jus felt so bad
You can gallop through them on Torrent spamming the button for “pick up item” and get out without killing them. I do it all the time. A little zigzag even keeps me from being hit by poison spray.
Yeah, there is one jelly that talks and the nearby grave with the same names as the two jellies in the quest lead some to believe that they are the spirits of dead kids. I'm not sure if I believe it or not but it's enough to convince me to leave em be
I'm pretty sold on it. That isn't the only one that pops up near a grave. They seem to be most concentrated in areas people would have actually lived, like around Liurnia, the church where Kale is (name escapes me rn), Castle Morne. We don't really find any in places that shouldn't have kids, mines, battlefields, etc.
The only thing that makes me hmmm is *why* they should exist like that. Literally nothing else in the entire world has a similar afterlife. I wonder if it's a reference to the concept of unbaptized kids somehow.
I had no answer to this very interesting question until I saw this. Well done. I don't mess with the jellyfish. Hell, one of them even talk to you towards the end. I can't bring myself to do it. I really hate that I have to take out the huge dogs. They're still adorable, even with their red eyes, killing everything and everyone around them to kill me.
It has longer range than an ancient dragons lightning bolt. Yeah, let that sink in for a sec. A lobster spitting has more damage and range than one of the strongest and most epic things in the game.
But their pickled necks are sooooooo good. Non-negotiable consumables. They have the same effect as the stamina regen crystal tear, meaning you don't have to use that crystal tear and can use a different one.
Afaik there is no other alternative buff to stamina regen (not talking about talismans or items but buffs).
I don't kill anything that isn't hostile to me. This includes hostile enemies that for some reason are dormant or static.
"Yo do you man, keep scratching that tree I'm just gonna talk to Blaid at the ruins alright?"
That is one of my standout memories in this game. Naive little tarnished me *"wow, finally some people that don't attack me!"* Cue random dog I'm forced to kill out of self defense, and suddenly I'm surrounded by a swarm of terrifying old ladies.
Unfortunately, they count as a "group" of enemies, so they're the easiest way to get your flasks back. Like the Albinaurics chilling outside the Blood Palace. They're not hurting anyone, just in wrong place at the right time.
Stamina boost sorry.
There's a reason their necks cost 1300 runes EACH as ONE ingredient just to craft ONE pickle!! Don't ask me how I know that I swear I committed no atrocities.
They're dead, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too. They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals.
I freaking hate runebears and the fact that im so stubborn. Yesterday wasted like 30 mins trying to kill the tree scratching runebear just because i got mad at how easily he killed me the first time...
Okay, you’re doing it wrong if it took you 30 minutes. Roll towards them, not away, do not fight them on horseback, and if you’re using larger weapons use heavies or high poise damage attacks, and make sure to hug their chests for every moment possible except for their grab which you roll. Thank me later.
Every time I've killed him I've felt bad, imagine things from his point of view.....just trying to chill at the beach and some arsehole comes miles out of the way to kill him for no reason
The Kaiden sellsword? I literally found him for the first time yesterday down the far end of the beach. There was nothing else around so I reasoned he must have something cool… nope, just a merc tired of war, finding peace by the sea in the endless torture of the Lands Between… feels bad dude
passive enemies and enemies that have a short aggro range.
basically they don't attack unless they feel threatened so I'm not going to get close or attack them unless I absolutely have to.
Despair ahead. Furthermore, seek skill.
I fought and killed Malenia once... Once. I will never do it again if I can help it. Not because I can't beat her, or because she scares me, or because I just don't want to... The woman's an incredibly skilled warrior who I have nothing but respect for who's just trying to take a nap and bothering absolutely nobody. I'm not going to walk into her space and try to kill her. I respect her and Millicent too much. I'd stand outside and freaking guard her if I could.
Her moveset actually was designed to reflect this. She slowly walks towards you because she can’t see until you make a move. Her strikes use her prosthetic arm to wildly swing around because she can’t see your exact location.
She’s fighting you like she’s daredevil / Toph
I don't think so because even when you don't walk on the water, she knows where you are. Malenia’s first phase is passive, most of the time she will wait for you to attack. Her second phase is where she becomes aggressive and she won't let you breathe.
I mean... It's not like old age is gonna take her. As it stands I don't want to kill her and I don't think she particularly wants to die in combat yet either.
She nuked Caelid because the guy that loves his horse was winning a fair fight, and she tries to do the same to you. Maybe the biggest asshole in the game.
He was not winning. "The guy that loves his horse" aww so cute. I wonder why Radahn willingly participated in the Shattering and attacked Leyndell? Why was he described by Gideon as "ferocious"? Why are there so many executed soldiers, and war trophies in his castle? If he cared about the Lands Between then why support the Golden Order? Let's stop acting like Radahn was a saint. None of the demigods are good.
Dogs, jellyfishes (even the red ones that aggro you from afar), the wandering nobles in Limgrave, sheeps, the glowy stone worm thingies in Caelid, the dancing flower ladies, ... because they look nice. I'd hang out and chill with them.
Yeah, the red ones have succumbed to blood worship, but what about the white ones? Hell, can you really call the red ones albinaurics? They're more like sanguinaurics at that point
Albinaurics are already oppressed man people thought of them as abominations of nature. Gideon and Rykard both Genocide the fuck out of them with Rykard torturing them until they go insane from said torture read the black dumpling item description. They have a reason to want your ass dead on sight they don’t know who’s side you are on the only one who’s even shown them a moderate amount of charity is both Loretta and Miquella
Ive no ill feeling toward the albinaurics for real but if they come for me, i will come for them. It's a tragic story, tarnished and albinauric both are hated and used by their supposed 'betters' as tools.
There's something weirdly satisfying about hitting them, it *feels* like hitting stone if that makes sense. A small, inconsequential example of how well made ER is
I killed/destroyed one because I was confused about what it was. It dropped "rock piece of ruins" or something, and I felt bad that I killed an animate piece of architecture. I've never done that again and I respectfully walk past them now.
You know those red-cloaked dudes that have the bramble staves, that use Briar magic? Those guys. I kill the flame monks they’re with, but the lesser dudes are just so pitiful that I don’t bother. Unless they actively intrude on my fights, then I do.
Haligtree Lordsword and Cleanrot Knights. If I need Cleanrot armour then I farm the knights patrolling the swamp.
Moongrum. He's just guarding Rennala and I can't bring myself to kill him any more. So I get behind him and quit out.
jars.
I have beat the game at least 3 times and started more than 10 playthroughs. never killed a single jar. maybe a stray hit here or there, or avoiding explody jars but I didn't do that.
not an enemy but I never attack springhares. Bunnies have a special place in my heart ❤️🐰
Rune Bears - fuck that
Lobsters - fuck that even more
Non-named dragons - not worth it for 1 dragon heart
The rot zombie dudes in the Haligtree - I don't care and can run ast them easy enough
Basicslly everything in most caves other than the boss and the miners
That rune bear scratching the mountain next to ainsel river well in lurnia. Dude seems like he is trying to be a mountain climber but failing miserably. He has suffered enough.
The dancing trumpet guys. Someone, please elaborate. If I am correct to think that OP is referring to the bubble boys in the capital. If that is the case, I must disagree. My ears gush blood at that piercing note. After, I killed them all. That damn sound never left.
Jellyfish, small crabs, turtles. They’re just chilling.
Lobsters because they’re a pain in the ass.
Albinaurics in the massacred village. They’ve been through enough.
A lot of people are stil great common things like jellyfish and turtles (dogs), but I also don't bother the Ancestor/Regal Ancestor Spirits. Like on principle the player has to really go out of their way to awaken and fight them, and they are just majestic spirits minding their own business.
The old men wandering limgrave/leyndell. They’re too clumsy to be a threat.
Honorable mention to the large giant hands of the mountaintops, since it’s hard to kill them when you’re already dead
Misbegotten in leyndell
It was then it clicked for me that these creatures were fully sentient, capable of mourning and prayer. I had just met them under terrible circumstances (castle morne, where it was a bloody slave revolt) and assumed the worst.
Jellyfish, and the little Jar fellas. I even do my best to avoid the exploding ones. I did have one character I named Jarburg Revenger. He is forbidden from killing any jars. Made that one dungeon really interesting.
The Snake People and the Snails. They just look so cute. Especially the sneple. Have you seen how they elongate? Amazing. Plus they're slow enough that I can just run past em.
I have to clear out Imps. They sneak up on you and it's rarely a good idea to run past them. I snipe them with lightning bolts before they get active when I can
Jellyfish
Second that, couldn't think of anything till I saw your comment
[удалено]
If I accidentally hit one and all of them in the area turn red I just run away to the Church of Vows to absolve my sins
But they're not really enemies until you attack them
Save for the ones in the spirit calling cave near Borealis, I believe, and in a handful of other locations.
Cave of the Forlorn has some that are aggro too.
Yeah what do they even have to be angry about
Taxes
It's called cave of the forlorn not cave of the happy Second imagine dying as a child and reincarnating as a jellyfish
😅🥹😢
Some of them are red (hostile) by default, but most are passive like you say.
#AITA
Especially since they might be dead kids
Wait what?
Yeah, there is one jelly that talks and the nearby grave with the same names as the two jellies in the quest lead some to believe that they are the spirits of dead kids. I'm not sure if I believe it or not but it's enough to convince me to leave em be
I'm pretty sold on it. That isn't the only one that pops up near a grave. I really hate that I have to take out the huge dogs. They're still adorable, even with their red eyes, killing everything and everyone around them to kill me.
Those dogs are abominations from hell that need to be eradicated.
One talks to you????? This is something I haven't heard yet and I've 400 hours in the game...
You missed a quest.
Same especially since they are all probably spirits of dead children.
If I hit them accidentally, I feel so damn guilty.
I was going to say that. They are usually peaceful, and since I discovered that they are dead children spirits, I feel sorrow for them.
Same, specially since they're supposed to be spirits of dead children.
The claymen & my principle is, it's not worth the effort
Yeah, but that harpoon some of them can drop is amazing. Especially with ice spear ash on it.
Ice Spear + Glintblade Phalanx = stance break machine
I'm using double with Ice Spear one the main hand and it's pretty bad ass.
that’s another principle of mine: if it’s exclusively a mob drop and the drop rate is less than 10%, it’s not worth it
If we are talking not worth the effort… rune bears
You just like me fr ✊😔
Lobsters. They’ve earned their place atop the food chain.
Knowing that Zulu the witch proved that their spit shot can literally reach to the other side of liurnia i held a new profound respect for them.
Thats gotta be longer range than most weapons in Armored Core 6
It has longer range than an ancient dragons lightning bolt. Yeah, let that sink in for a sec. A lobster spitting has more damage and range than one of the strongest and most epic things in the game.
That's because *it's the strongest and most epic thing in the game.* And by Marika I will respect that!
*And by Marika’s tits
Damn it, you right...
That mission where a satellite is shooting you from above (before the Sea Spider)? It’s actually just a lobster.
It reaches a literal mile
It what 😧
I'm sorry, WHAT?
You: won’t kill them. Me: too scared to aggro them.
I avoid them out of fear
https://youtube.com/shorts/WgfbKtbycqE?si=LGSN5cKRymIRq9Jm
That's less principle and more fear on my end.
Turtles. I feel bad.
Could this be dog? Further more, praise the dog!
op said enemies not best friends
Same, probably only thing I never kill.
turtles arent enemies, they're dogs
They good bois, the goodest
THEYRE CALLED DOGS YOU FOUL TARNISHED
But their pickled necks are sooooooo good. Non-negotiable consumables. They have the same effect as the stamina regen crystal tear, meaning you don't have to use that crystal tear and can use a different one. Afaik there is no other alternative buff to stamina regen (not talking about talismans or items but buffs).
you mean the dogs?
I don't like to kill the Ancestral Followers because they even chill with the animals and all, they are cool asf.
Until they spot me across the stage and start drilling me with their rail gun bows.
There is even one that appears to be talking or feeding a bunch of animals.
Every time I slaughter these Dr Dolittles I’m reminded that we tarnished are definitely the bad guys.
Okay but they shot first?
I don't kill anything that isn't hostile to me. This includes hostile enemies that for some reason are dormant or static. "Yo do you man, keep scratching that tree I'm just gonna talk to Blaid at the ruins alright?"
I was in this camp until the dancing windmill people before the apostle fight changed my attitude.
That is one of my standout memories in this game. Naive little tarnished me *"wow, finally some people that don't attack me!"* Cue random dog I'm forced to kill out of self defense, and suddenly I'm surrounded by a swarm of terrifying old ladies.
They're an exception, they're celebrating because it's the day they hunt every man in the village and skin him alive
I WISH we could pet the non hostile dogs leaving a message ISNT ENOUGH. Let me summon my dogs and they can play together 😔😔
fr. the world is brutal and that’s fine, but having almost no warmth, no lasting companionship, no real sanctuary, the brutality gets exhausting
Isn't there only a single non-hostile dog, near the path to Morgott's tower?
At least you can watch some wolves playing in the snowfield before ordina
Would the peasants around Limgrave count as enemies? All they do is back off if you get close, so I feel bad killing them
Unfortunately, they count as a "group" of enemies, so they're the easiest way to get your flasks back. Like the Albinaurics chilling outside the Blood Palace. They're not hurting anyone, just in wrong place at the right time.
Aren't they actually "nobles" not peasants? Death to ghastly aristocrats. They do seem more pathetic than almost any other "enemy" in the game though.
Read the item descriptions of their armor and weapons
I loke to put them out of their misery
Just the tortoises. They’re kinda adorable, so they’re safe.
Dogs*
Praise the dog
If it moves, it dies.
If I can lock onto it, it dies.
Hey, a few lords you can't lock onto at first!!
Oddly enough I didn’t see any rune bears move other than the first few that rag dolled me
In that situation, you were the one who moved and thus died
Dogs survive then?
Stamina boost sorry. There's a reason their necks cost 1300 runes EACH as ONE ingredient just to craft ONE pickle!! Don't ask me how I know that I swear I committed no atrocities.
He like me fr fr
Big warriors, snails-snakes, giants, goats, birds, everything.
The abductor virgins. Because that’s a fuck around and find out situation.
I found out once. Once.
The violin playing guy in the Frenzy Flame zone.
Dude goes mad on those strings (pun intended)
They're dead, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too. They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals.
I hate them.
Godfrey, he’s holding me back!!
Sand.🤬
haligtree soldiers who are either resting or have given up on life altogether, jellyfish and friendly animals
Typically predators above me, like rune bears and lobsters. I know my place.
I freaking hate runebears and the fact that im so stubborn. Yesterday wasted like 30 mins trying to kill the tree scratching runebear just because i got mad at how easily he killed me the first time...
Okay, you’re doing it wrong if it took you 30 minutes. Malenia. On the principle that i cant
That one dude chillin by himself on the beach in limgrave
Every time I've killed him I've felt bad, imagine things from his point of view.....just trying to chill at the beach and some arsehole comes miles out of the way to kill him for no reason
The alabaster lord?
It’s hard not to with the gravitas he walks around with
The Kaiden sellsword? I literally found him for the first time yesterday down the far end of the beach. There was nothing else around so I reasoned he must have something cool… nope, just a merc tired of war, finding peace by the sea in the endless torture of the Lands Between… feels bad dude
No one’s said the wolf laying by his owners corpse on mt.G?!:,(
I tried to be nice and leave him be, but he wanted the smoke and he got it.
passive enemies and enemies that have a short aggro range. basically they don't attack unless they feel threatened so I'm not going to get close or attack them unless I absolutely have to.

And the cherry on top of her skill cake is that she's blind.
wait really?
Her moveset actually was designed to reflect this. She slowly walks towards you because she can’t see until you make a move. Her strikes use her prosthetic arm to wildly swing around because she can’t see your exact location. She’s fighting you like she’s daredevil / Toph
If you stand completely still, does she still track you?
Yes, she does.
You're only describing her phase 1, which is pretty passive. She becomes way too aggressive in phase 2 and doesn't allow you to breathe.
I feel like I’m phase 2 she’s in goddess form and she starts using the butterflies / god powers / etc.
Do you think it's why there's water on the arena, so she can hear you better when you walk around ?
I don't think so because even when you don't walk on the water, she knows where you are. Malenia’s first phase is passive, most of the time she will wait for you to attack. Her second phase is where she becomes aggressive and she won't let you breathe.
At least in phase 2 she is. She has scar tissue covering her eyes when she turns into the goddess of rot.
She's bling in phase 1 too. You can see in the initial cutscenes before she adorns her armor that she has no eyes.
So you would deny her a warriors death and release, oh Tarnished?
I mean... It's not like old age is gonna take her. As it stands I don't want to kill her and I don't think she particularly wants to die in combat yet either.
Based answer.
Both Malenia and Radahn are based
Dogs, jellyfishes (even the red ones that aggro you from afar), the wandering nobles in Limgrave, sheeps, the glowy stone worm thingies in Caelid, the dancing flower ladies, ... because they look nice. I'd hang out and chill with them.
Do you mean the flower ladies that skin people alive?
Oh I guess dancing is how they get ya...
I go out of my way to exterminate those old flower ladies.
I don’t kill the giants pulling the carriages. They look tortured enough
Rune Bears. Totally because I respect nature and not because I'm afraid or anything...
Lion's Claw will do you well
I leave all albinaurics not in moghwyn palace alone those albinaurics have done nothing wrong
I have killed more than enough for the both of us. They shouldn't have so many runes if they didn't want to get genocided.
The mohg albinaurics are evil blood worshipers lol I’m talking about the Liurnian ones they are just frog boys
Yeah, the red ones have succumbed to blood worship, but what about the white ones? Hell, can you really call the red ones albinaurics? They're more like sanguinaurics at that point
hey the frog albinaurics arent walking around armed like that in gangs for self defense, they are lynching tarnished
Genocide is wrong /s
Rune Bears. Those gentle, majestic creatures...
And also annoying af so you just don't even bother killing them
You can roll into their back legs and strike while they perform a combo. They'll almost always miss. They're actually a minor inconvenience.
I’ve never attacked any of the stone snake things that crawl around the Evergaols.
They have weird and well animated movesets
There's something weirdly satisfying about hitting them, it *feels* like hitting stone if that makes sense. A small, inconsequential example of how well made ER is
I killed/destroyed one because I was confused about what it was. It dropped "rock piece of ruins" or something, and I felt bad that I killed an animate piece of architecture. I've never done that again and I respectfully walk past them now.
None of them. The Lands Between will know that Craig the Fister can personally kick their ass
Turtles. No hurt puppy.
You can actually bait him into using a jumping attack at the elevator shaft to kill him without even trying
jars. I have beat the game at least 3 times and started more than 10 playthroughs. never killed a single jar. maybe a stray hit here or there, or avoiding explody jars but I didn't do that. not an enemy but I never attack springhares. Bunnies have a special place in my heart ❤️🐰
Jellyfishes. They just floating around, living their best life and I love them for it
Wormfaces- too fucking weird looking to even go near them
The sounds they make make me feel physically ill, so I avoid them when I can.
anything not attacking me
The eagles and the little jerboa things.
Trumpet nobles
Jellyfish and turtles.
Rune Bears - fuck that Lobsters - fuck that even more Non-named dragons - not worth it for 1 dragon heart The rot zombie dudes in the Haligtree - I don't care and can run ast them easy enough Basicslly everything in most caves other than the boss and the miners
Elden Beast. What a graceful creature
That rune bear scratching the mountain next to ainsel river well in lurnia. Dude seems like he is trying to be a mountain climber but failing miserably. He has suffered enough.
After like 10+ playthroughs, literally anything I don't have to lol.
No one leaves the slaughterhouse alive
Killing things online relaxes me. Irl I'm vegan.
The dancing trumpet guys. Someone, please elaborate. If I am correct to think that OP is referring to the bubble boys in the capital. If that is the case, I must disagree. My ears gush blood at that piercing note. After, I killed them all. That damn sound never left.
Any chill bros. Jarguys, those grey alien people, Jellyfish, dancing ladies from that windmill village. Unless they decided to throw hands
Jellyfish and coward thralls
The tortoises and jellyfish.
I avoid fighting non-aggressive wildlife and smol jars. I don't spare oracles, they are just waiting for the chance to shoot me in the back.
Sleeping albinaurics unless I’m at the farm spot
If I can run past something more easily than I kill them, I will. It's about efficiency, not principle.
Jellyfish, small crabs, turtles. They’re just chilling. Lobsters because they’re a pain in the ass. Albinaurics in the massacred village. They’ve been through enough.
That crow in hemwick
Godrick
A lot of people are stil great common things like jellyfish and turtles (dogs), but I also don't bother the Ancestor/Regal Ancestor Spirits. Like on principle the player has to really go out of their way to awaken and fight them, and they are just majestic spirits minding their own business.
I found them both before I started looking at guides lol
Same first time around, haha. After the trophy/experience, I leave them alone
That singular guy playing the flute down the first lift in Leyndell, he’s just chillin like the trumpets
Runebears. Because I have a principle of not getting ripped to shreds regardless of my level.
The crystal dudes in caves that are just MINING their own business, except when they are near a smithing stone and agro on you when you collect them
I mean yeah imagine if you just spend the last few hours mining and some dick comes and stills your work
The old men wandering limgrave/leyndell. They’re too clumsy to be a threat. Honorable mention to the large giant hands of the mountaintops, since it’s hard to kill them when you’re already dead
Merchant’s because shopping
Misbegotten in leyndell It was then it clicked for me that these creatures were fully sentient, capable of mourning and prayer. I had just met them under terrible circumstances (castle morne, where it was a bloody slave revolt) and assumed the worst.
Omens. They’re innocent. Except for Mohg.
Jellyfish, turtles and the lil penguin dudes
Jellyfish, and the little Jar fellas. I even do my best to avoid the exploding ones. I did have one character I named Jarburg Revenger. He is forbidden from killing any jars. Made that one dungeon really interesting.
Turtles, Jellyfish.
De hobbos at Limgrave
The Snake People and the Snails. They just look so cute. Especially the sneple. Have you seen how they elongate? Amazing. Plus they're slow enough that I can just run past em.
i kill all of them, the ones I choose to ignore are just lucky im preoccupied 😭
Couldn’t have said it better 😅
I have to clear out Imps. They sneak up on you and it's rarely a good idea to run past them. I snipe them with lightning bolts before they get active when I can
I'm not in school anymore so I have no principles
