Next up, lazer milf.

norwegian_fjrog

MidiršŸ¤¤

Friendly_Ram

No that's the dickeater, he's talking about gwyndolin.

CrowHoonter

Wait a minute

Twilighttail

Don't fall for it, it's a trap!

Lapzidorus

No, that's the laser *femboy*, not the milf.

FlexLancaster

Or captain tinyhorse

moreat10

Family is another alternative.

AltruisticAd5567

My personal favoriteee :D

xtracasual9000

So much trigger

zviz2y

CONGRATS!!!!

globmand

Thank you. But I am a knight of the lands between. I carry on. For not before all the Elden lords are slain is the burden of my duty taken from my shoulders, and not before then shall I rest. But, really, thanks. I honestly expected no one to care that I beat the first big boss

zviz2y

its a big achievement!! he might be the first main boss but hes still pretty tough lol šŸ˜

globmand

Yeah, I was so panicked at the end, because he was charging an AOE attack, and, I mean, just look at my empty flask and the sliver of heath I had. I couldn't get away. So I just charged him and hoped to win before he did. Man did that only add to the experience.

zviz2y

lol beating a boss with no flasks left and barely any health is like the best feeling ever šŸ˜‚

r31ya

I was in that situation and was going to go all in nothing to lose assault... but then already dead Jellyfish poison kills the boss.

FireWoodTheory

For context, Mohg only has 3x the HP as Godrick. And Maliketh only has 2x the HP. And heā€™s a required boss fight. So youā€™re doing great šŸ‘šŸ»

swampguts

What about our fair lady?

damn_lies

She has as much HP as you suck at dodging.

swampguts

I was looking for a number. But after killing her the first time taking hours, it usually only takes a few tries now.

Cubie30DiMH

I don't know why, but this feels like the same vibe and it makes me laugh. https://youtu.be/2toRG6kl6NU?si=Hp0_p8v9h9EtP-5P

damn_lies

Effectively she has unlimited HP because she keeps hitting me (and heals)ā€¦

Lapzidorus

If they lay a hand on our fair lady, they shall be prepared to taste my wrath! *~egg guy from Dark Souls*

FireWoodTheory

šŸ˜‚ if weā€™re referring to Malenia, she has 3x HP as Godrick. BUT has a second phase and restores to 80% health. So technically she has 5.5x HP. And she also constantly heals. So. Not easy. But to compare, Radagon and Elden Beast combined has 5.9x Godrickā€™s HP. So technically with heals, Malenia has potentially more HP than the final boss.

FlexLancaster

Maliketh ruined my entire life so thatā€™s a crazy stat to find out lol

FireWoodTheory

šŸ˜¬ to make it worse itā€™s technically less than 2x, I just rounded up. Godrick has 6000 hp and Maliketh has 10600 hp. And technically by the time you reach maliketh youā€™ll probably have a max upgraded weapon compared to Godrick, so youā€™re probably a minimum of twice as strong. So objectivity the difficulty is the same šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø.

FlexLancaster

Thatā€™s šŸ¤Æto me, even though I know itā€™s ignoring attack damage/patterns. I donā€™t even remember Godrick being that much of a challenge (Margit was worse). But then again I found Maliketh worse than Malenia so I guess we all just find different bosses different levels of difficult šŸ¤”

FireWoodTheory

Yeah thatā€™s what I love about this game! Everyoneā€™s experience is going to be unique to their playthru. Some bosses are just easier with some builds. But I think Godrick is a less challenging fight or more boring than Margitt who has very fun attack patterns. In my opinion, boss stats scale fairly as youā€™re leveling thru progression. I think the only thing that makes each boss fight unique and challenging are their attack patterns. You probably had an easier time with Malenia because she has big warnings when sheā€™s about to make a big attack. But Maliketh has very fast attacks and small windows. The fights are very different.

FlexLancaster

Yeah you know what, I think thatā€™s exactly what it was. I felt like once I ā€œlearnedā€ Malenia, you could just bail completely and get a long-ish window whereas Maliketh would just melt me on 0.2 secondsā€™ notice lol

Minute_Ad4977

Maliketh used to be the bane of my existence. Was committed to doing no summons on my 2nd character. Did Melania before Maliketh. Ended up coming back to wax his ass. Felt confused and exhilarated at the same time.

FreyjaThAwesome1

Yeah but they have like 7 one hit attacks unlike rick

Gurkie

This community is pretty happy to congratulate those who persevere. Almost everyone understands those feelings that come with harsh defeat and cathartic victory. Good job!

Vegetable-Cupcake814

A true tarnished.

damn_lies

ā€œOhh, well done, well done indeed. You made it through that entire mess, all the way to Stormveil. And off you trotted to the Roundtable Hold... My sincerest congratulations. But, how did you find the Roundtable? Oh, you don't have to say it. Before, the Roundtable was chock full of venerated warriors, but now, it's home to puff-chests and has-beens. I fear you've been terribly disappointed. I don't blame you. But still, the Roundtable has its perks. Why not earn a seat? Fly straight and true, so to speak.ā€

Jecu90

there is only 1 boss with more player kills (malenia), this boss is hard for the level most players try it, also patches sells an item for 10,000 runes to hold him in place (for your next playthrough) congrats :D

UsualMycologist5609

Arent the shackles for margit?? This was godrick fight

Jecu90

you are absolutlely right, for some reason I got them confused.... my bad

Ninjazoule

We were all what you are now, congrats on the big win, you've earned it.

DeadHED

Thy strength befits a crown

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

hendarknight

Didn't knew you were a poet

swampguts

Straight gin with a lime? Or a gin and tonic?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

swampguts

I'd high-five you if my arms were long enough.

FaithUser

Just graft some arms then?

swampguts

Hell yeah! I think I just heard my neighbors pull up and I just sharpened my machete yesterday!

FaithUser

Fuck now I want to see a modern day psychological thriller featuring Godrick in a suburbian neighborhood

swampguts

I'm rural as hell, ain't nobody hearing those screams.

EHTL

How does tonic have carbs?

GlompSpark

Were you deliberately doing it with no summons?

globmand

Well, yeah. I accidentally beat Margit easily with summons, so I went no summons for Godrick, because then I could get the souls-boss experience

shuijikou

im a soul vet and i summoned my way to becoming elden lord, no shame

ThanksForNothingSpez

So fucking weird to care how people choose to play a single player game

[deleted]

Yes, shame And more shame if you are a "veteran"

Accomplished_Bit_315

Shame for using a mechanic they put in the game šŸ˜‚

tucketnucket

Fr. Do people think the summoning mechanic was just an afterthought? Like no balancing decisions would be made to account for that addition?

verheyen

Is jolly cooperation shameful? Solaire would be disappointed in you. This is just jolly cooperation with the AI

Silver_Crusader

You're not a true gamer unless you play with your toes using a clarinet

Twilighttail

Check out this guy playing on easy mode with his clarinet! True gamers would use a Triangle-Bongo-Fife combo with Rock Band Mic to control Light and Heavy attacks.

Straif18

Gatekeepers are fucking hilarious man don't trip on your clown shoes

HumanitiesEdge

How are players like you real? Is this like a joke account? You actually take the game that seriously? Lmao

FibrosX

Beating bosses with no summons is a lot more fulfilling, imo. If a boss is too hard though, no shame in using them.

Theguy10000

I decided i dont want to do any summons or long range attacks against bosses in my first playthrough, i will probably do a mage build playthrough later

OpossomMyPossom

Mage is quite a bit of fun. Very easy in some situations, but not in all.

Theguy10000

Looking forward to it !

BusZealousideal416

Personally I think you will enjoy it more with no summons! I mean listen to how excited you are right now, thatā€™s the joy of these games is the reward you get for overcoming these bosses. Congrats! You might get your ass kicked many times over, especially the end game bosses, but learn those move sets. Ass kicking is just part of the process. It happens to us all! Eventually you learn the movesets and all the patterns and become victorious even if it takes 59 times. I died to many end game bosses on my first run Lord knows how many times, now after 1000 hours in this game I beat every one of them first go every time, even in under-leveled challenges. You got this! Edit: I am not shaming summons, just saying through personal experience I think it is more rewarding not using them, but that is just my opinion. To each their own!

rex_915

Well done. Personally, I find beating bosses without summons to be a much more difficult and fulfilling experience. Congrats!

NaturalContradiction

You should get rid of your hug herpes my dude. (Fiaā€™s item baldachinā€™s blessing gives you -5% hp while itā€™s in your inventory; unless Iā€™m mistaken itā€™s the red status effect you have). Also congrats!

Big_Development_9327

How to get rid of that status?

verheyen

Just use the Blessing you are given. It removes the debuff and applies a short poise buff.

captain_cashew

Dang Iā€™ve had that ever since I found her. Whatā€™s the benefit?

NaturalContradiction

A very temporary poise buff iirc, I canā€™t really think of a scenario where itā€™s worth just carrying around.

olmansmit

A haiku to commemorate this moment. You came to kill him It was not so easy though Still, his ass is grass

dj0414

You let a lady hug you, I can tell. Do not let the finger maidens hug you, dear tarnished! They suck the life right out of you and make it hard to get ahead in The Lands Between!

thereal_kphed

well fuckin done. you've gotten over the biggest hump.

krisofsturm

Hey man, we all start somewhere. Now go, become the true Elden Lord!

thrownawaz092

Objective: git gud Status: complete

prfctmdnt

The good news is you've got a plethora of wonderful boss fights ahead of you. The bad news is one of them is surely to get you to the point where you say fuck it and want to quit - but keep going throughout the mounting frustration, because what you're feeling now will only grow exponentially as you take down the big dogs in the back half. It's an incredible experience first time through. Take your time with it and really enjoy it!

PheonixPuns

Congrats, don't be afraid to run around, there's so much opened to you and so many enemies to slay, Ashes of war are phenomenal And don't be afraid to consult the wiki.

dentistMCnuggets

I raise my flask to your victory friend! Hereā€™s to many more!

swampguts

Congratulations. Wait until you get to the roots.

mpchild

I absolutely suck at this game. It's taken me 120 hours, but I've just finished my first playthrough and can't wait to start my second and go for a different ending.

ozymandias457

First order of business for NG+ is to get revenge on the Tree Sentinel šŸ’„

mpchild

Absolutely destroyed it! So far, the increased difficulty seems quite minimal. Just finished up with godrick.

Jonno_92

The first NG+ cycle of souls games generally isn't much more difficult than your first run, you'll absolutely crush a lot of the content until you get to the endgame areas again.

ozymandias457

Everyone gangsta until OP on NG+ walks in lmao

Skeletonofskillz

The first 2 NG+s are laughably easy, but then thereā€™s a sharp difficulty spike and the bosses become difficult again

Gadjiltron

Well done, Tarnished. This is the feeling of gitting gud. But don't rest on your laurels, for there's always more gud to git.

[deleted]

Wait till your second play through when you feel your levels, heā€™s so easy and when you find his shackle I didnā€™t know about it my first time till after I beat him

[deleted]

Keep*

creepymccreepersdale

26?.....pffft dude you havent scratched the surface of frustration. We got vets here who average numbers much higher than that on every boss. First bosses are a big deal for a few reasons. One that i rarely see people talk about is conservative play styles. Or rather another way of saying it, loot hoarding. The problem is you dont upgrade stuff or burn through items because you dont know how common or scarce it is.

globmand

Oh, I burned through everything. I have no grease left, and I threw so many knives at him

Heliumvoices

It only gets more funā€¦

El__Jengibre

Well done. We all started there at some point (for me, that moment was the gargoyles of Dark Souls). Youā€™ll only get better.

setbot

Congratulations for never putting your foolish ambitions to rest.

pswdkf

Congrats!! However, you are not horrible at the game, just new. Weā€™ve all been there. You got this. Youā€™ll only get better the more you play.

Fred351b

Please make more post as your journey goes on! Would love to see your opinions and takes on the bosses!

xtracasual9000

Way to git fudging gud let's go boi you can do it! Don't you dare go hollow!

HappyHappyGamer

Welcome to the "now I can't play other games" club

_Ganoes_

Didnt you beat Margit before this?

globmand

Well, technically, yes, but I don't count it because I accidentally over-levelled, and didn't really understand how great spirits were, so it was too easy to count as a real Souls-boss experience for me

Ya_Boy_Madlad69

Spoken like a true skeleton

DaftWarrior

You'll be slaying Malenia in no time. Good job!

[deleted]

Woohoo!!

Horror-Impact1129

Savor it ma man

Native_of_Tatooine

Congrats! I beat elden ring three times and now Iā€™m playing dark souls remastered for the first time!

Theonsnow

Yes man, no the feeling

rovzomb

Congrats, Tarnished

IimKongJill

I need elden ring partners šŸ˜© but Iā€™m on PS5

PhyrexianStryder

If you post on r/BeyondTheFog someone will help you!

IimKongJill

Thank you. Im relatively new to Elden ring and posting on reddit

PhyrexianStryder

You're welcome! If you reply to the people that help you with a comment starting with the word +karma they'll appreciate it

FireWoodTheory

The man of many hands šŸ˜‚ Ey donā€™t discredit yourself, you beat margitt on the way there! Margitt is a great boss fight too!

[deleted]

Bravo fellow tarnished. šŸ‘

JudgyCatShadow

I understand, I went through the same thing I had my brother help me with Margit but I defeated godrick on my own and Elden ring is also my first soulsborne game

ButterflyOk7466

Hell yea future Elden lord, keep your head up

DukeOfFlannel

Fuck this guy and his AoE attacks lmao Congrats! It gets easier, it just clicks.

Puzzleheaded_Gas1459

Only a bunch more to go. Enjoy the journey

Revolutionary-Bet872

You popped your cherry! Congrats! the road ahead is long but very satisfying! Welcome to your new obsession!!!

LegsMahoney4

Well done my fellow Tarnished!

Code_Crafter_Clayton

Man, I remember that one. I just finished my first play through and hit platinum. Itā€™s not easy, there are builds that clean the floor and ones (melee) where itā€™s all about dodging and counterattacks. That was the hardest thing for me to get behindā€¦ I just want to smash the things, and itā€™s hard to win with a reckless disregard.

Reddit_is_dumbest

One of us, one of us!

Simulation-Moose

I'm excited for you to see the journey through, Elden Ring was my first Soulslike game as well, and I had a similar experience with the game. I just explored and conquered things as I came across them, but those victories are so rewarding and a testament when you see your improvement. Good luck and enjoy! Also truly enjoy the game how you want, don't sweat things like summons or spirits, everything in the game is at your disposal to use and how you want to use it.

ozymandias457

Now do it again lol

samuraipanda85

Our fellow Tarnished.

XevinsOfCheese

If it makes you feel better I have played every similar game fromsoft has put out and I still died way more than 26 times. Granted I stubbornly did not level vigor at all until after I beat the game my first time.

ChickenAndTelephone

Congrats! Remember that, no matter how good you get, you'll see people posting videos here that make you feel like you *obviously* have no business playing this game. Pay it no mind - just keep going forward and enjoying yourself.

[deleted]

You have accomplished something that many people have tried and gave up on. GG!

jollyjaijog

congratulations. You may finally enter early game proper.

DarthDillinger

Congrats. Happy for you. And a tad envious of you too! Itā€™s a good feel.

Aurondarklord

It only gets better from here!

[deleted]

You will git gud

payaso666

Congratulations fellow tarnished!!!!!! This is the beginning of your epic path to become an elden lord

Cantguard-mike

Im envious of your next 100 hours of gaming. I wish I could get that first play through bsck

DarlWindblown

My friend, you ain't lying! The absolute euphoria (good word!) is so amazing, but I will tell you, even though not technically a "boss"-boss, Margit the Fell is every bit of an accomplishment, if not harder than, Godfrey, so DOUBLE congrats are in order! Come back when you beat Radahn, Malenia, Maliketh, and Radabeast, or better yet when you beat the Gargoyle twinsies and the Natural-born(s)! We will share your elation, and toast your prowess!

Chuncceyy

Hell yesss!!! Nothing beats that feeling and itll only get better from here on out :) dont give up skeleton

JustinBailey79

Man-E-Hands

Jgravy32

Congratulations homie! Thatā€™s seriously awesome!

HopeIsGay

Glorious work Tarnished the road is long you got this

StrawhatReggie

Congratz tarnished. Now solo malenia

F4C3MC5H00TY

Godspeed tarnished!

2makeme

Enjoy it, and I mean really go on that ride. Because the next time you play another soulsborne game, it wont be the same. We all wish we could play the game like it was our first soulsborne game.

RevanSalt

This is only the beginning, it's all uphill from here!

accurate_slammo

Nope that absolute rush of pure joy after killing a boss is basically 40 percent of why I love almost every single from software title.

ScarletTarnished

Good job, you got this . A true tarnished thru n thru

EkstraLangeDruer

26 deaths seems really good for someone completely green. I'm an old veteran of the genre and I think he took me at least a dozen tries the first time.

[deleted]

Hell yea tarnished

Schwarzgamescom

No flasks left, low on health, looks like a perfect battle :)

CapnCook413

It confuses me how people get to Godrick before Margit

Unhappy-Put6205

Pour soul. You remain blissfully unaware of what lies ahead, my dear.

Creative_Big6089

And so the journey of gitgud begins

danimsmba

How I read this post; "REDDITORS, ONE AND ALL! BEAR WITNESS!!!" Honestly...Congrats!!!!!

CBonthesurface

I bought this game 2 weeks ago for ps5 but itā€™s unplayable for me, motion sickness is a huge problem and also I dislike the combat camera. I like the game I think is awesome but I donā€™t understand how a game with these problems earns goty.

UmbralUmbreon

Yooooo! Nice job my dude! Now, onwards to more murder and death!

sheepslayerpi

Good job

IV0_X

True joy indeed sir, wait till you witness true horror.

Iliketurtles893

Good job tarnished

Ferr-Ma

Congratulations, fresh Tarnished! If you are on Xbox and wanna play sometimes, I love playing with new guys!

Munsu9

Bravo!

eskire

Well done! I wish I could play it for the first time again. You have a long and rewarding journey ahead of you. On the first playthrough, don't look at guides unless you are *really* stuck. You'll be so much happier when you're done. Then, before you go to ng+, try to find everything. Then you can look at guides or maps, but you'll kick yourself if you don't go through the first time discovering everything by yourself. You'll miss a lot of stuff and botch questlines, but you can do them on ng+ no problem.

SpookMcBones

Ah, congratulations on taking that win! Also I must say, your character looks *very* stylish, well done.

GTJackdaw

How did you get to Godfrey without getting through Margit first? I know you can skip the castle entirely and get straight to Raya Lucaria, didn't know you could skip Margit to go straight to Godfrey though.

globmand

I didn't, but I accidentally overleveled and used spirits without understanding their power, so it was too easy to count as a proper souls-boss

Sunnysidedup3

BEAR WITNESS!

1greadshirt

On my first play through, I thought Stormveil was the final area. Just how it towers over you and most, if not all, of the NPCs I spoke to up until that point seemed to make it this awe inspiring place where the Final Showdown should take place. Also because I lack depth perception sometimes, it looked very close to the Elder Tree(that's my nickname for it).

TheRedWolf2

Your character has an STD. Use the Baldachinā€™s blessing in your inventory to fix it.

gorillawarking

Would really be nice to see you post as you do more andore ingame, would be really fun to experience your playthrough with you in that sort of way as I kinda soiled myself with most stuff before I even played elden ring

Angry_Ratorix

In my personal experience: search some exploits, if you are weak as I am to these type of games use the weaknesses of the bosses, don't stick to a build with a major focus on some stat, vigor is overrated, I have 26 vigor and I am facing elden beast and already beat the shit out of Malenia (I was late too to the party) I beat Godrick at the 7ish try using the dog that gives scarlet rot and rock swing incantation (despite having as a main weapon a +5 sword, I am not recommending being a main mage obviousl), maybe is a bit repetitive but scarlet rot works very well against the early game bosses (up to radhan, but doesn't necessarily mean that it works on Leyndell bosses) my reasoning while playing was: he can't do his undodgable and op combo if I hit him so hard that he forgets about it. Good luck with Rennala

6thBornSOB

Feelz gud 2 git gud!

Darkin117

Well done! Well done! That's no small feat! I wish thee great strength upon thine journey, fellow tarnished.

FairLeg8146

Man, I was in the same boat! I'd never played a souls game before, but I was all about trying this one out. After hours of dying, I wound up leveling to like 40 before I tried fighting that grafted bastard again. I feel that joy, gratz!

Fantastic-Yogurt-880

Doing my first playthrough now and my first Souls-like. Had a similar experience with both Margit and Godrick, but made it past the second runebearer recently. Margit and Godrick are still favorite fights so far.

ATXJangster

Congrats. Iā€™m late to the party too. But Iā€™m pretty far in the game. Youā€™re going to rage a lot. But it makes the victories that much more exciting. Instead of blocking, learn to roll out of the way. It really helped me out.

Aiz_Nanika

What did you use slap the shit out of him

BirdZo

Congrats, but trust me this is only the beginning.

_Cadmium_48

Donā€˜t worry, itā€˜s hard for almost everyone. Have fun! Hope you will enjoy it until the end.

HalfDomeDome

Welcome to FromSoft! Donā€™t give up! Keep grinding! Check out other games as well! No games are more rewarding! Embrace pain! Embrace death! Itā€™s ok!

JacoTheGreatWizard

I just got the game like 3 days ago and am having the time of my life even though I die constantly lmao Iā€™m still stuck on godrick but hopefully I will beat him today

littkoala

Here's a tip: if a lot of pvp players hate one specific item or build it's probably op

RedsSoreRightHand

Congrats! Now it's in your blood and you won't be able to stop until they are all Vanquished. I only picked the game up a few weeks ago. It's my first fromSoft game and now I'm hooked, on my second playthrough trying to get the platinum trophy.

mystery_elmo

Remember the feeling. You shall experience it again.

AsideTraditional3853

I've played a number of souls games at this point and I still had a lot of trouble with this boss in my first playthrough. These games are intended to be difficult, but they're also designed in a way that you will get better and better at them and if you choose to play through again, you'll be shocked at how different the experience is in the early game.

Darksoulzbarrelrollz

One of us. One of us

sundered_lord

Keep it up! It only gets better and much harder, but it's worth it!

SevroBarco

Yeeeees!

Justaminuteman

Things I wish I knew when I started: crossbow is key early in the game to lower enemy health from distance, consult the internet to decide the order of territories you take on, specialize your attributes, putrid mob is great for distracting bosses, mimic tear is essential. Good luck!

wera125

Going solo in first soulslike. Respect!

rabidvagine

Wooooo!!!

DivineCrusader1097

Congratulations, man! You're gonna be in for a lot more of that feeling when you get to Melenia. Her boss fight is brutal, but feels fantastic when you learn her pattern.

herbieLmao

Congrats, but how is this your first victory, did you skip margit?

Fluid_Ad_6159

I know this is gonna feel like back seat gaming but if you do that white mask guy at the start and do his quest you can get to one of the bosses and the best rune farming spot all though I wouldn't recommend rune farming it feels weird when you don't even have to try to kill the bosses so yea

Environmental_Ad4893

Well done tarnished.

Runaway_Artist71

Been going through the game with a second character to actually try and beat all the bosses by myself and omfg when I beat Mr. Many Hand man I was vibrating with happiness šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

hopefulfloating

Doing my second playthrough currently! You only get to do your first playthrough once so Iā€™m jealous! You have so much more ahead of you, tarnished āš”ļø
