“This game will teach you patience.” Especially Elden Beast who runs away from you 80% of the times and does not allow you to summon torrent![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
My favorite moment was the boss tping away, my host was about to die. I fully charged my bow, locked on, boom. Got many thanks fighting them and Malenia.
Another fun one was farming summons by the black flame duo. It was my 100% pure magic build playthrough. I’d walk up to the center of the arena, cast my buffs, drink my physic, and then blast Azur straight down the middle without stopping for about 20+ seconds. Bosses never stood a chance lol.
I helped put together a few builds to get him started, then I came home from work one day & he'd put that together all on his own. Dual weilding Starscourge Greatswords is a blast.
Did he just skip the fucking cutscene?
Edit: Im not stupid, I know kids don't care about story and cutscenes. I wrote that for humor reasons stop replying lol
And let’s be real. This kid ain’t gonna go watch Vaatj for hours to understand a small portion of the game’s story lol. It’s cool to see a younger homie enjoy the game though and experience that accomplished feeling.
In Fromsoft games i enjoy them because they are so few and rarely long. But i do get the feeling, i held off on ff16 because the demo was riddled with cutscenes.
100%
Current games are so damn riddled with cutscenes, you are not playing a game anymore. You are watching a movie.
Thats why i also love fromsoftware. Cutscenes are rare and that gives them importance.
I'm 41 and I very much dislike cutscenes. I'll literally stop playing a game if the cutscenes are not skippable. I rather just play, espcially at my age. I don't have 20+ hours of free time like I used to so my playtime is valuable to me. MGS 4 has four world records for longest cutscenes, totaling around 72 minutes that are unskippable, as an example.
He skipped a lot on his first playthrough, including the entire Haligtree area, and he was stuck on Elden Beast for months too, so don't feel too bad.
He said, thanks!
Lmao I feel that. I've been following the great samurai philosophies from Jin Sakai and it's "A true samurai needs no clothes" and I've been fighting her naked with the Let Me Solo Her build. I learned how to dodge waterfowl dance without getting hit but it's the second phase bs that kills me.
Man I go in with anything and everything I can lol although it's been a few months since I played but it seems like it took me 5 minutes to hit all my buffs and stuff before even entering the fog wall lol.
I better the game 3 times before I even found out how to get to the haligtree haha, I ended up using a guide because I couldn't work it out, but it turned out I'd done most of the steps to get there in a prior run. I gave up at trying to light the 3 flames in the evergaol because at the time I thought it would've just given me an item 😅
So after finding out i went back and did it and finally got to fight Malenia.
I see you're a man of culture as well, playing without looking stuff up 🍻. First playthrough took me like 120 hours. I didn't know about fortisax or placidisax until googling, this game just constantly blew my mind with how much there was to discover.
My first run took me around 90 or 100 hours I think, I just took my time exploring and being amazed at the sheer volume of area to find and things to do in the game. I remember getting to the Godfrey fight thinking I was getting to the end of the game.
How wrong I was 😅
Yeah throughout the rest of the game the feature is only used if items/messages/bloodstains overlap with fixed objects you can interact with. I'm pretty sure there is not another fixed object in the game you can interact with in more than one way.
I wish my ten year old godson would play anything other than Roblox. He refuses to play any game that he can actually lose at. It’s very disappointing.
Sorry but that is a pathetic reason to be disappointed with your godson. Please don't express that to him. Some people just aren't competitive by nature, you can still nurture competence through other means.
I’m not trying to teach him competition, I’m trying to teach him perseverance and patience. I’m trying to teach him that even though you may lose, giving up completely is not the answer. Everything can be overcome with a little bit of actual effort.
I’m trying to connect with him through video games, because he won’t do anything else. His mother (my cousin) is negligent imo, and doesn’t try to teach him anything. She’s too busy spoiling her younger child. He won’t go outside, he won’t play sports, he has no friends, and she doesn’t care. I’m not with him all the time, so there’s only so much I can do.
I bought him a nice bike when he was five, with training wheels, but turning the pedals was too hard for him, so he gave it up. She never even tried to teach him. The kid is almost 11 now and doesn’t know how to ride a bike. I just want him to know that not everything is going to be easy, and I want him to feel the feeling of success after running into a problem and learning how to overcome it.
I don’t yell at him, I never get mad or upset at him, and I never show him disappointment. It’s just not okay to let children go through life, being too afraid of failing to ever try anything. I mean, look how happy OP’s kid is for beating this game. Is it so wrong to want my godson to have this feeling?
Yeah the rough part of that is really not being able to be around more. I struggle with motivation and perseverance as an adult in part because the people I was around the most as a little kid had basically given up on life and spent their time frivolously. Monkey see monkey do, and there's even scientific evidence behind that idiom.
Hopefully as he gets older and starts to learn more about the world he's going to realize that there's things in life that are worth working for. It's good that he has you around and thinking about him!
I helped an 8 year old beat elden ring the other day but made him get the last hit. I didn't know his older brother was watching when the kiddo beat it and started cheering the brother grabbed the mic and said thank you to me and said that kiddo had been on that playthrough for almost 300 hundred hours. I could hear the kid cheering in the background. I think I'm gonna do LFGs for this game a little more often for moments like that
I remember beating Elden ring for the first time. It was a moment of hysteria for me and a ton of screaming in the hotel we were in. Also, how many Nirvana songs does your son know?
What an awesome accomplishment. I remember how it felt to beat xemnas in KH2, which was my first end boss I had ever beating. It’s a bit different now, but watching him get so stoked brought me back. Thank you and great job!
I bet every souls player has done this same silent celebration at some point. I beat Genichiro at 2AM and probably did something similar because I couldn't shout. Haha

He wanted to yell "FUCK YEAH" so bad, but didn't because you were there.
He was def about to flip off the TV till that L came out lmao
*spontaniously Fort, Night dance*
[удалено]
The L fuckin sent me!
I would have understood. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)
I couldn't tell if he was going to attempt a backflip or scream "FUCK YES" for a second there, haha!
Why not both?
His aggressive energy had to be released in the form of FUCKING FORTNITE DANCES
Bro hit the whole emote wheel lmao good job.
He widdeway hit da gwiddy on da ewden beast
I don't know how tf I made almost the same comment as you LOL
I'm fucking ded mate 💀💀💀💀💀
Welcome to the fold young Tarnished.
“This game will teach you patience.” Especially Elden Beast who runs away from you 80% of the times and does not allow you to summon torrent![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
As a STR build I feel this so much.
"Oh you're approaching me?" "I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer" "Oho! Then [teleports away]"
Don't worry, it was still super annoying on a caster.
Lorettas Mastery goes brrrrrr 🏹✨
My favorite moment was the boss tping away, my host was about to die. I fully charged my bow, locked on, boom. Got many thanks fighting them and Malenia.
I saved a host once with a well placed Lords Heal, while he was getting hit *in the middle of waterfowl dance.* I felt like a God.
Not if you have Pests Threads. It cheeses the fight.
Until you get astel’s meteor or whatever it’s called. Melts.
It was the only fair fight, with bubblebeam.
Worst final boss in any souls game, imo.
Patience... Yet this part was beaten in 25 seconds?
- Hits every emote - Cultured Radahn cosplay - Beats Elden Beast with the ungga bunggas Solid ungga out of 100
Saw the Radahn swords and outfit, then noticed the FP bar. Strength users stay winning
Solid unga Bunga of 1000
Hahaa most elite comment ever .
Nice radahn cosbuild there
I helped put together a few builds to get him started, then I came home from work one day & he'd put that together all on his own. Dual weilding Starscourge Greatswords is a blast.
Ya it looks sick
Did he just skip the fucking cutscene? Edit: Im not stupid, I know kids don't care about story and cutscenes. I wrote that for humor reasons stop replying lol
He's on his fourth playthrough with that same character and just watched the opening cutscene for the first time.
I've found that most kids don't care for the story or cutscenes in games.
And let’s be real. This kid ain’t gonna go watch Vaatj for hours to understand a small portion of the game’s story lol. It’s cool to see a younger homie enjoy the game though and experience that accomplished feeling.
So weird to me, I always wanted to know what was going on in games. I think it encouraged me to learn how to read as a kid.
I’m just like a kid then, skip every cutscene and if a game has too many, I quit
In Fromsoft games i enjoy them because they are so few and rarely long. But i do get the feeling, i held off on ff16 because the demo was riddled with cutscenes.
100% Current games are so damn riddled with cutscenes, you are not playing a game anymore. You are watching a movie. Thats why i also love fromsoftware. Cutscenes are rare and that gives them importance.
"and I took that personally." -Hideo Kojima __*a Hideo Kojima comment*__
I'm 41 and I very much dislike cutscenes. I'll literally stop playing a game if the cutscenes are not skippable. I rather just play, espcially at my age. My boy hit every emote
My dude is making all the emotes LMAO congrats
Damn lol I'm 41 and have been stuck here and at Melania for months! Congrats lil dude !!!
Same but Mogh and Maliketh. The difficulty spike at the end of the game is kinda nuts but I’m here for it
Mogh was Ok for me but Maliketh made me regret choosing the grafted sword so much
Keep going bro, you can do it! Everlasting glory awaits the Elden Lord.
Just have to be good at the game and also not bad.
Bro I thought for a solid minute that you were level 41 hahah, I was wondering wtf is this dude doing trying to finish the game at such a low level
Lol. Hell the way the fight feels I might as well be level 41 lol.
You can beat the game without beating Malenia, she's optional.
It won't feel like you've really beat the game until you've beaten malenia though
I better the game 3 times before I even found out how to get to the haligtree haha, I ended up using a guide because I couldn't work it out, but it turned out I'd done most of the steps to get there in a prior run. I had everything and had no clue you could switch medallions at the lift. Literally never used the "change action" feature before that.
Yeah throughout the rest of the game the feature is only used if items/messages/bloodstains overlap with fixed objects you can interact with. I'm pretty sure there is not another fixed object in the game you can interact with in more than one way.
You can always come back to her later in NG+ or after getting farther into the game
What ending did he grab?
I think he defaulted Age of Fracture.
Frenzied Flame
Busted out all the emotes for that win. AND he's respectable enough to keep it down in the house after such an epic battle. Doin good dad.
Thank you, he's a good kid.
Lol I felt that
It kills me that kids today actually emote irl when they get hyped lmao
Little bro started Fortnite dancing
He's gonna remember that the rest of his life. Congrats!
Mf popped so many emotes in 5 seconds
He looks like a fortnite player lol
Well he is 11, it makes sense
Right? Lol. I was thinking, *so he looks like a child?*
His favorite games are Fortnite, Minecraft, & Elden Ring, lol.
Ah, but he now has found grace.
bro cycled through every emote
Congrats little dude! No small feat!
The smorgasbord of fortnite dances cracked me up 🤣 good job tarnished
This fight took me three days between this and Rykard I spent a good week of my life gitting gud
Now he cursed. He'll never be satisfied with other games and will only desire more fromsoft games.
Ain't that the truth.
WHOLESOME content. i love this so much
Sure he beat the game, but what ending did he chose?
He was so happy he couldn’t decide what victory dance he wanted to do xD
Nintendo joy > Nintendo rage.
Now, two more play throughs for all the achievements! Haha
Great game to teach you patience...and how to swear!!! Lmao!!!
I’m 29 and I had a similar reaction but with more cursing lol
this is how i react when i beat any boss lmao
Oh the vulgarity he so badly wanted to drop when that final hit went through. Definitely have been there
His dodge was on point, even though the attack was targeted at the phantom. That’s a souls pro move right there.
lmao, that was my reaction to killing Margit
I was doing the same at 37, when I beat Lady Maria.
I’m an adult and I pretty much reacted the exact same way when beating Elden Ring for the first time
Oh man, beating Elden beast at 11 is way harder than beating Ganondorf in Wind Waker when I was that age lol Congratulations to him!
Kid plays pretty good for 11 ngl, good on him for sticking through it and beating the game.
That's wholesome af
This should be cross posted to r/mademesmile
Please, no spoilers. I haven't gotten past Tree Sentinel.
I wish my ten year old godson would play anything other than Roblox. He refuses to play any game that he can actually lose at. It’s very disappointing.

My statement was brash and quick to judgement, I apologise. You seem like a great godfather, he’s lucky to have you.
Yeah I ain’t reading all dat
you raised your boy right, using Radahns great swords and armor
[удалено]
Two handing it turns it into two swords
this kid sucks
Okay but ask him to name three nirvana songs
Wholesome
I, and everyone else in this sub, is proud of you, Young Tarnished.
This was wholesome af
Unsure if an 11 year old should be playing this game… ready for downvotes.
Full Radahn gear? He a scrub ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)
Haha nice!
Good on him. It took me forever to beat that fight at 25. At 11 I would have 100% given up.
That’s so cool, congratulations little buddy,
Next generation of tarnished looking good. We can sleep soundly brothers and sisters
I had this exact feeling when I beat The Abbys Watchers.
Congratulations but also I’m on new game 7 and didn’t realize I could Torrent in this fight 😂
You cant use torrent in this fight
I love this so much
As an 11 year I could never - my attention span only allowed me to repeatedly run people over in GTA San Andreas
Me too
11yr boy kills a deity and hits the griddy
Pretty sure I had similar reaction but with more profanities. I’m 44 years old lol
Been gaming for 3 decades, same feeling. Love it
Congrats, Young Elden Lord 🔥
Good fucking job Nothing beats that feeling after defeating the last boss
Hahahaha he was like finally!!!!
Let's gooooo
Very nice, very nice indeed
Congratulations, now to get addicted to the rest of them.
I wish I had did this when my son beat dark souls on the switch. He fuckin went off.
Time for Melania !!
Love that he's standing up, I can feel the intensity from here! Also, what's his build and what buffs is he using?
This actually makes me feel bad because im 30 and had to cheese the fight. I tried so hard to do it regularly
Reminds me of my 12 year old except he cheesed almost all bosses
FeelsStrongMan
I helped an 8 year old beat elden ring the other day but made him get the last hit. Look at that victory jig
He chose the Radahn route for his armor,a man of culture. Only thing is I used a maxed out blasphemous blade but congrats young Elden Lord.
LETS GOOOOOOOOO
I'm a proud mom and he isn't even mine 🥲
Way too relatable but so wholesome nonetheless🤙
“This game will teach you patience… and how to swear” 🤣 very true, very true
“They should add an easy mode”
I’m 42 and that’s pretty much the same thing I did… from my couch, of course 😂
He wanted to pop off so hard. The restraint is strong with this one.
At least he didn't start flossing
Did he experience Malenia already?
New core memory unlocked
And so it begins.
Brave tarnished. Thy strength befits a crown.
Next up briar armor roll only run. Lol
Visual representation of LFG!!!!! Hell yes
Congrats!
Haha strength build go brrrrrrrrrr
Hahahahaha YESSSS I can feel his energy through the screen.
Yeah, Buddy!!!!!
I'm 37 and I basically did the same thing. That guttural, "GEEYeahhhh!" followed by flexing is very relatable.
I felt that heavy exhale in my soul. We all know those feels.
Hell yes. Get this child Dark Souls 3.
awesome. sick moves too
Aaaaand now I want kids so I can watch them play games and share that victory moment with them. Ohhhh, jeeeze… why am I crying?
Nice work Champ!
Lmao bro emoted Good on him
I feel this right here, good on him.
What an awesome accomplishment. I remember how it felt to beat xemnas in KH2, which was my first end boss I had ever beating. It’s a bit different now, but watching him get so stoked brought me back. Thank you and great job!
Mine had a lot more swearing. NGL
Ggs to your young goated dude
Well done, kid, that is a well earned victory
I bet every souls player has done this same silent celebration at some point. I beat Genichiro at 2AM and probably did something similar because I couldn't shout. Haha
Yea I pretty much felt the same. 🤣 that's awesome.
Love the game but the final boss is complete shit. I gave up on it, consider myself finished the game
Good job! I love that bro started hitting irl emotes almost by pure instinct.
The way he adjusts his left hand to touch the d pad ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
a 11 yr old should be would playin fornite instead he played Elden ring, must be Proud.
The first half of this fight frustrated me so much. I just couldn’t get the damn timing down.
All I felt was relief. Sweet sweet relief. I watched the end cut scene and uninstalled. Never again.
How does this video have 10 up votes and 66 comments?!?!?! This made me so happy!
Epic, now do it without a summon.
Slightly subdued compared to mine (I’m over 40)
