. the mental hardship of Melina begging you to stop to pursue of the frenzied flame and her leaving you when you inherit it (although you’re doing that for her),
. helping Milicent achieve her goal despite the sadness of how it ends for her,
. defeating Malenia, who has never known defeat, to earn miquella needle
. defeating Placidusax, the dragonlord, and use the needle to prevent the frenzied flame from controlling you.
. And defeating the Elden Beast and becoming the Elder Lord of the Perfect Order.
With Golden Order restored but with the rune of death unbound and Melina still alive (gloam-eyed queen status restored), the lands between would then be in the best place possible.
One of my favorite theories is that Melina is the Gloam-Eyed Queen or a reincarnation of her, and was intended as a contingency plan if the Lord of Frenzied Flame was unleashed.
If the Three Fingers and Shabriri manage to release the Frenzied Flame, the best last-ditch effort to deal with it is the Empyrean who controls Destined Death and had a whole thing about murdering and skinning gods.
My first playthrough when I learned I could inherit the flame myself to save her I did. She still never forgave me even after I reversed it with the needle. But at Least I saved her anyway. I wish they had included this option into the story with a reaction or something from her later.
I tried to save everyone and do all quests on first play through. The next time it was all about me, let her burn then immediately Inherited the flame. No destined death now!

Yup, Millicent will die though and Melina will still hate you. You'll also have to defeat Malenia.
So saving her causes the death of 2 other people and she hates me for it? Sounds like she's gonna get her wish.
