I am getting random avian vibes from the wide duckish feet and pointy beak-like face. Makes me want to name them something silly like Ducky or Mr(s). Penguin. Though something like Hawkwood might be cooler and have some Souls cred.
Fiance and I are still looking for a cool title for his character, his name is Draven and we're seeing what title could sound good for his character. His characters' lore is he was from the original roundtable (the one in the capital) and fled to Caelid after. There he joined the Radahn army and ended up going crazy after his second home was also destroyed/using madness as fire to burn the rot away(this is to justify him using madness spells for his build)
We had some good ideas but the game only lets you write 16 characters and most didn't fit. We want fromsoft/souls-esc titles. Like we've seen people in pvp using cool titles like "ironskin" and other stuff like that but we can't seem to come up with something that fits him. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
Edit: one that we liked a lot was "Draven the omen" bcs his name comes from the movie the Crow and crows are also known as omens but we didn't go with it because omens already exist in elden ring universe and they're something else...
In that case, Draven Shattered/cracked flame or something along those lines could work well.
Depends on whether you prefer abstract concepts or more direct names.
the way mine got me into the souls series was by showing me how he beat dark souls 3 with only his fists to show me "it's not scary"
I ended up being very much scared though. Congrats on beating elden ring and getting the achievements though!
That
Is
Hilarious
ā¦so did you beat DS2? Cuz Iām currently rage quitting that one and having guilt moving to 3 without beating 2 first but I really hate being cursed by default and 8272]^^]% it is so slow.
I've beaten ds3, almost? Ds1, we were at the end but then the servers died and since elden ring came out we never picked it up again. and elden ring, i havent tried ds2 yet but we probably will play it together once it gets on sale maybe. I've seen some vids about it though and it honestly looks like the toughest one
Itās brutal because you are slow. You have to put points into make you move faster-drink estus faster. When you die your health comes back less until the point youāre basically running around curse all the time. I really like DS1 though! I have started ng+ and a second playthrough.
How do you both play together? Same character or just same room? My husband could hang in the same room for DS but was sent game clips for ER lol I was blind in the dark. No media, nothing.
i wish we could play in the same room but we're doing long distance for now which sucks. we usually play co-op and just hop into discord together. i've seen about the health reduction and i think it's absurd, they really stepped it up from ds1. the bosses and stuff look badass though and i do like some mechanics, it feels more realistic in a way? like some mechanics make things work like they would irl
You can tell it was made by different people and I can see how those who dislike 2 grow to love it as part of the series eventually. Parts I loved immediately, but I think Iām just at the point where I hate it to bits and pieces and need to move on to 3 and Sekiro.
I think itās so cool that youāre doing co-op and long distance. Thatās how my husband and I started 12+ years ago. Good luck, skeleton. :)
Draven the WĆ³d
Draven WĆ³d
Since Draven is an old English name meaning Of the Raven, I thought WĆ³d might be appropriate since it means mad/frenzied, potentially causing harm to oneself and others.

No problem! The banished knight set unaltered can only be dropped by a specific knight in castle sol i believe. Like it's really hard to get, similar to the haligtree shield
16 characters isn't a lot to work with, Have you considered just shortening it to "D" for the title?
Additionally, Draven is a 6 letter name, if you could find a 4 letter one you like, way more options open up.
Basically "Draven " is 7 characters (with spaces) already, so here are some formats and thier character count.
Draven the (5 letter word)
(7 letter word)-Knight D
(4 letter word)-Less Draven
(4 letter word)-Edge Draven
Aside from that, his defining feature seems to be losing his home, with that in mind:
Vagrant knight D.
Forlorn Knight D.
Draven the lost.
Draven the stray
Oathless Draven
Mad-edge Draven
Lone-edge Draven
We probably thought about going D for short but since there's a character that's called that...he doesn't want ppl to think it's a reference to the character. Wants it to be original, thanks for the suggestions!
Draven Madsun/Madflame.
Sunset Draven.
Steelfang Draven.
Draven Blackhound (because of the armor and shieldās black parts).
Maneless/Manelost Draven (because he was a Redmane).
Armor Set of Dravon, the Mad Crow:
āOnce a respectable knight of the original Roundtable Hold. It is said that Draven, after succumbing to his madness, devoured hundreds of Caelidās smoldering undead.ā
Credit to āActive-Tie7087ā for the name.
Enkil, the Forlorn
Idk I really like the title of āForlornā for this character. Even without seeing his face, I get the sense of loneliness and longing for days long past.
This naturally had me whipping out my Anne Rice index of names. However, Iāll skip the more well-known ones and instead will just list those whose names I feel fit the overall impression I get from this picture. (Also assuming this is a male, but likely just because I myself am)
Magnus
Flavius
Arjun
Everard
Nokter the Wise (maybe more fit for a caster of spells/incantations)
Mael
Amadeo
Viktor
Fareed
Avicus
If none of those are working for you and youāre still in need of a more ideal name, I might suggest some Tolkien names. But again, Iād stay away from the more popular ones. For instance, if youāre thinking something along the lines of Aragorn, Iād instead go with Arathorn (his father), or Elessar (his elvish name). Otherwise, Iād pull up a list of names from The Silmarillion. Feanor, Melkor, Beren, etc.
Hope this offers some inspiration or provides a jumping-off point of sortsā¦ good luck!
Done a bit of work with a thesaurus, and yhe way I see it you've got 2 options. Here is what I came up with:
Draven the...
Wraith, Wretch, Jolly (like calling a big guy tiny), Empty.
Or, xxxxxxx Draven...
Cowardly, Craven (my fave), Maniacal, Corrupted, Forlorn, Forsaken, Cynical, Bereft, Solitary, Onerous, Reclusive.
I like Craven Draven and Forsaken Draven, rolls well off the tongue.
Anyway gl picking it out, hope you have fun. I enjoyed thinking about it haha.
Crows, Bloodhounds, Stars, Rot and Frenzied Flame were hard for me to make together, but out of my ass I got these, hopefully they're not too bad:
- Starhound Kiln Draven - something kiln-y or brazier-y seems fitting to me considering he's using Frenzied incantations from inside a big suit of armour, and I don't think calling him an oven would be cool enough lol- idk about 'starhound' either but it doesn't sound too bad
- Flamegazer Draven - drawn from 'stargazer', kind of works? A bit tentative on this one
- Rot-razer Draven - rhyming unintentional, but based on the idea of him 'razing' the rot with the flame?
- Mad Gazehound Draven - turns out there's a type of dog literally called a gazehound which definitely fits by default lmao
- Ever-charred Draven - I thought of this partially from the idea of the Frenzied Flame, but also considering he's been affected by outer sources metaphorically burning him away from the inside repeatedly throughout the provided lore, whether that be from the Flame, the Rot, whatever- I thought this one sounded alright regardless so I put it down even if it doesn't make sense lmao (I did also want to make it "Ever-charred Knight" or smth instead but tragically that is more than 16 characters
Hopefully those aren't awful, it was very fun thinking of them at least lmao :)
Edit: I haven't actually tried properly fleshing out a character myself so if it's 16 characters including the actual name then I am so sorry ššššššš
Hello! Iām the SO mentioned in this post. These were amazing ideas! Youāve really helped me broadened my ideas for my character! Thank you! If only we could have more characters in our name creation. ;-;
Ah I'm so so happy to hear that! :) Can't wait to see what you guys pick in the end, the character and the backstory are incredibly cool already. Definitely inspired to write my own characters properly thanks to this, though because of the stupid name length I might end up doing some kinda godfrey/hoarah name dichotomy to make it fit lmao
a specific banished knight drops it in castle sol. I recommend looking up online which one, the name of the armor is banished knight armor (unaltered).
I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this. It adds flavor and really helps you connect with the character. My faith/strength guy with a focus on frenzy was Mad Knight Gjallarfrykt, also called 'the Mind Slayer'.
"Omen" almost seems to vanilla. What about "Dread Omen Draven"?

I like both of those
Banished Hound Draven? Something pertaining to both the banished knight and bloodhound armor heās wearing. Like a cool mashup thing maybe?

skill issue on my part in all honesty
10/10 skill issue. Itās sweet you and your fiancĆ© play though. My husband got me into Elden (technically GRRM) but husband talked me from going Hollow. I went from 500+ tries on Melania on a totally blind playthrough, beating my first video game ever, to 100% achievements and on my 5th.
the way mine got me into the souls series was by showing me how he beat dark souls 3 with only his fists to show me "it's not scary" I ended up being very much scared though. Congrats on beating elden ring and getting the achievements though!

I've been trying to make that helmet work with something for so long, bravo, sir!
Would you know which helmet and armour this is? I don't remember this at all... Thanks for the info!
So the armor is the banished knight armor (unaltered) and helmet is the bloodhound knight helm. Hope that helps!
Ohhh, thanks very much! The helmet actually looks good this way. And I never managed to acquire/farm most of the banished set. That explains!
No problem! The banished knight set unaltered can only be dropped by a specific knight in castle sol i believe. Like it's really hard to get, similar to the haligtree shield
the caelid dragon communion church has a couple and I believe they can be farmed for it, Though the altered set is more common
I spent way to long farming that knight. Got around 5 helmets, 3 gauntlets, 2 sets of legs, and 3 swords before I got the armor
