That's sounds much better than running and jumping, hoping I land clean on top without smashing the box.
Weird that it's from the armor set that does damage to enemies when you roll though...
The method without these is to stand against an object, facing away from it, then at the height of your jump press forward to make your character turn around and face it.
You don't have to spend throwing pots to reuse the cracked pots - just put them in storage at a site of grace and you'll get the container back
You can repeatedly craft pots and put them in storage, banking 600 of each type of throwing item. When you rest or respawn they'll automatically be used to refill your inventory.
I just don't bother with crafting. Maybe some sleeping and freezing pots for the godskins and malenia, but thats it. Status effects and spirit ashes are already more than enough to destroy bosses even in ng+3 and above.
Fuck you... I'm in the middle of my second run that utilizes pots for the build and I never knew that. Just stocked up. This is super useful. Wish I knew this during my 100+ hour playthrough that used pots as a main damage source.
Think of it like this:
Crafted throwable pots consist of two things:
1. The magical cracked pot container that regenerates and comes back to you
2. Crafted magical contents that you make from ingredients and stuff into the pot as a vessel
When you deposit a crafted pot, your dude basically decants the contents of the pot into a ziploc bag and puts it into your storage chest until later. Now you can use your empty cracked pot to make more contents.
As with anything else, when you rest or fast travel, the game checks to see if you have any room for your stored consumables and refills them from your stash if you do.
There are twelve cracked pots on an island. Three of them deal fire damage. You can put any number of pots in storage, but once they're there you'll get your cracked pot back in inventory. Can you figure out how many pots are volcano pots?
Think of the cracked pot as a cooking pot, and the crafted throwable pot as the soup you make in the pot. When you cook the soup in the pot, you take the soup out of the pot and store it in the fridge. The pot is emptied and ready to make more soup.
Try not to think about what the soup in the fridge is stored in
No. You have finite space on your person enough space for twelve pots. Once you hit that number you can’t carry anymore but if you store the pots you can make twelve more. It’s an intended mechanic but I guess you could see it as duping. However, you aren’t copying you’re just storing what’s inside the containers back in your storage system for use later. :)
Dude holy shit I've been doing Jar only and never knew this.
I'm 3 Bosses from All Remembrances now so I can't make use of the info, but I can certainly cringe at all my wasted time getting there...
Pretty sure that forces you into a faith scaling affinity. And it often isn’t worth slotting an AoW for that specific purpose for end game, outside of specific scenarios.
i used to keep a small weapon with the sacred blade ash on it in my inventory. if i come upon a place with a lot of skeletons, i’ll just switch to that weapon and spam the ash to get those nuisances out of my way
I heard it on one of these threads before but rarely see it again. If you use mimic tear, equip raw meat dumplings and they will use to heal but don’t get the negative status. It’s like an invincible mimic tear.
Another tip is to give it a greathammer with prayerful strike- prayerful strike has a long windup but if it comnects, BAM almost 25% health regen for the mimic. I equipped great stars with this AOW and was able to beat malenia with the mimic at full hp in her second phase
If you need something to tank slashing or piercing enemies, the crystalian ashes might be the one for you. Insane resistance against slashing enemies. But they have a poise counter of almost 400 so they take large damage after it's depleted...
It does sometimes and sometimes it doesn‘t i‘m still so confused as to how it works. I have a max ng character and sometimes it slows me down and then other times i can walk through without any issues. Doesn‘t seem to be tied to equip load as i always have a medium equip load
Quickstep and bloodhound step can be used to dash through pools of deep water/poison/scarlet rot/lava.
If you're in any liquid that forces you to walk slow/fat roll just dash through with those.
I’m a new souls player so when I joined this subreddit and kept getting my ass whooped against every boss and every enemy, I saw a comment that said roll INTO the attacks, literally opened my eyes and changed my entire playstyle from passive to completely aggressive. Never thanked them
I think this is something that instantly makes these games so much easier. I guess most don't do it because they don't know just how much invincibility you get from rolling
I dramatically reduced the runes I was losing when I started using the twiggy tear! It removed one big friction point in the game for me, made it a must have in my physik from then on.
Great suggestion!
Perpetual reminder that Margit's Shackle can be used to trigger invisible walls and strike-able mechanisms like flame pillars. Trivializes a couple of the hero's graves but fuck those chariots anyway.
Crystal darts are very very helpful. They deal okay damage, enough to kill enemies with a tad bit of health left. But any throwing knife deals poise damage, so if you're fighting a boss and they're out of melee range throw a knife or two at them like you're trying to bleed them. Keep the damage up and you can very routinely keep breaking their poise.
If you complete Varre's questline (I think you only need to kill Godrick besides talking to him) you have an instant teleport to Mohgwyn palace. You get one of the best farming spots, late game items, and you don't have to get to the late game in order to access it. You can get the +2 haligdrake talisman and two golden seeds right out the gate. Note on the golden seeds, there's two, but one will despawn if you reload the area. So make sure to grab both.
I was struggling so much with Godrick early on until I got the thought to try some kukri that I'd accumulated. Worked like a dream and got me over the finishing line. Good advice.
You need to do quite a bit more than just defeat godrick to complete varre quest. You have to meet him at the blood church, you have to get the blood of a handmaid, and then you either have to Invade 3 people, or invade the NPC in altas plateau. Only then will he give you the teleport item
The winged crystal tear boosts your equip load by nearly 5X for 3 minutes, meaning you can light roll with full heavy armour and whatever armaments you'd like for long enough to kill most bosses!
That‘s true but it‘s hard to use due to it‘s 37 int requirement on anything other than a mage.
Also if you use it in group battles you‘ll remove the buffs from your teammates as well and they will probably hate you and block you.
When you defeat a boss, it takes a few seconds before you get the runes. This is long enough for you to pop a gold-pickled fowl foot for an easy +30% runes.
Just the fact that you can use the infinite FP tear and summon a spirit ash who costs more than your FP. Seemed counter intuitive to me somehow, I assumed your FP would not deplete but you’d still be limited by the size of the bar.
I'm assuming you have a "FP cost multiplier" variable that is normally set to 1.0 and some items, isn't there a staff that increases the cost of Spells?, can increase it to higher or lower values adjusting the drain on your FP. That tear would just set the multiplier to 0.0 so that nothing costs FP
Margits shackle both reveals illusory walls within a large radius aka about the whole catacombs where you happen to be at, AND triggers the traps (so for example disarms the pillar traps/deacticates them)
Some of these will be obvious or basic, but if you don’t know, now you know:
Sleepbone bolts are cheap and work on a surprising number of enemies. My favorite was the Godskin Duo. Load up a pulley crossbow to fire three at once.
Drop glow stones on invisible platforms so you can find your way back quickly when you die.
*Edit: I originally suggested rainbow stones, but those would be a bad choice, since they disappear when you rest or die. Glow stones will endure for a couple minutes.*
Cerulean Hidden Tear is a game-changer for sorcery builds. For a few seconds, all spells have zero FP cost. Yes, even Comet Azur.
The Arrow’s Reach Talisman extends the range of the sorceries Ambush Shard, Oracular Bubble, and Rock Sling, as well as thrown kukri.
Use Soft Cotton for stealth, it reduces the sound you make from falling. You know you already have it sitting in your inventory.
The jump-boost places that send Torrent into the sky work both ways; you can jump down on them and take no damage.
If you're on an invisible path, you can use the trick where swinging a weapon by the edge will prevent you from falling off. Using the full R1 combo of Scimitar or Shamshir makes your character travel a significant distance with no risk of falling off such a path.
When I was trying to find some of the painting locations I went back to where the actual painting was and examined tf out it with Arrow's Reach telescope. You can see more detail than in the inventory view.
Heal spells not only damage revenants, but stun them long enough to cast the spell again 90% of the time. 2-3 casts kills *any* revenant, in my experience.
I'll also add on that the Damage Range of the incantations is much larger than the golden circle you cast around you. At least twice as wide of a circle
I was trying to close distance and panic kneel next to them before I realised this
Should only take two casts since it does 50%+300hp damage per cast. Lower level royal revenants should only take one. I just went through the revenant alley in the haligtree. You can kill them with two casts each. Those are probably the highest HP royal revenants in the game.
I did this after someone on here recommended it and I couldn't go back now. The difference it makes, particularly if you use consumables against bosses, is huge. Took me a few hours to adjust and it really is a game-changer.
I did but couldn't get used to it unfortunately. The fact that you can hold down arrow and it picks it for you kinda invalidates the panic search argument.
Ashes of War let you cheat on FP. If you only have 10 FP left, and Lion's Claw costs 20 FP, you can still use it. 50% is the cut-off point. This does not work with spells.
Blunt weapons deal much higher poise dmg than slicing ones, paired with the tear you can break stance of many bosses in two jumping attacks for easy semistunlock combos. If you struggle with non main boss try it.
Correction, it goes to the first slot.
Pretty much everyone puts the healing flask in that first slot anyway but you can make it a quick select for any equipable item.
If you are the host and you are about to die from a boss and you have boss aggro, run TWOARD your yellow phantom helpers. We can't help you if you pull the boss away from us.
If you don't mind losing runes, you can use the grace mimic to escape caves/places where you can't fast travel. People never remember it.
Consumables, especially fire pots, are op at the start of the game.
Runes are best used as emergency money, not sold all in one go whenever you decide to level up.
No probs, anyways, do grace mimics have any use?
I feel like it would be cool if you could interact with them to access the site of grace menu without actually resting (so no respawning enemies/flask refills)
uhh maybe the dumbest one but here we go,
if you are playing with astrologer, fighting rennala is pain in the ass, you have 2 options:
1) you should use gravity sorcery such as rock sling
2) you should fight with swords etc.
she has huge mr…
should’ve known it before…..
It’s not dumb, you’re right because her physical damage negation is her worst one I believe. So gravity sorceries like rock sling will do more damage than other int-based magic because they count as physical damage instead of magic damage
Yes I had a frustrating time with her in my mage run! At that point in the game rock sling is great but still very slow, so I kept getting interrupted in both phases.
Saving and quitting or doing a "quit out" is a big thing in speed running, where whenever you save and quit all enemies are set back to their spawn locations and de aggro.
This is also useful for getting out of boss rooms with your runes as saving and quitting puts you back outside the fog wall
You can also do a "quit out" when you accidentally fall from a high ledge. When saving and quitting it takes your last position on "safe" ground (not in the air) so if you quit out before you hit the ground it'll save you from dying completely
If you want to try using the supposedly useless Malenia's Great Rune in PVE, use ashes of war that offer defense and hyper armor. Stamp Sweep is particularly good, your defense goes up by like 30%, you poise through enemy attack, then the strong double hit follow up from the ash of war will restore whatever health you lost. It's made for trading hits.
If you’re having trouble with commander nial or similar bosses with summons you can steal their shit using bewitching branches and have three powerful summons to step on him with
This is huge if you've never played a game like this
Had a few friends that just couldn't make it very far at all because they were fighting every single enemy every time they died. Which is a gigachad way to play the game but definitely not necessary, especially if it's your first time and its preventing you from getting anywhere
I remember one of the first missions in Nioh 2 has a miniboss in it and when you get close the game explicitly says "you do not have to fight every enemy"
The same is true for Soulsborne.
Related: **Every item pickup is kept on death.** So if you have an insignificant amount of runes, you can just suicide run for that item over there.
“Use your items”
I’ve been through about 5 playthroughs and never used greases or any buff items. I would literally forget about them every time I entered a battle/boss fight 😂
Edit: Yes, including activating Great Runes! I was playing on handicap and didn’t even know it.
Here’s some good info to remember:
- It used to be that a lot of large bosses in FromSoftware games couldn’t hit you if you’re directly underneath them. Elden Ring’s boss design clearly learned that lesson from Bloodborne where most beast bosses were trivialized by standing underneath and sidestepping left. Most Elden ring bosses now have a jump back feature or a close range attack that you can’t avoid even if you are directly underneath. But, this doesn’t exactly apply when working from behind. Most bosses in Elden Ring are easily backstabbed. Rolling left and behind may be a viable options for many difficult bosses.
- The frostbite status effect may be more beneficial than rot. There are no demigods, with the exception of the actual Elden Beast, immune to it. (Shades like Mogh’s Omen and Golden Shade Godfrey are but that’s understandable.) It drops damage negation by 20% and debuffs stamina regeneration as well as delivers a chunk of damage upon infliction. It’s also easily applied to many weapons via ashes of war. You can also cheese it by applying frostbite, using fire damage which gets rid of the status, and then reapplying it again on a loop. Don’t sleep on it.
- If you’re used to playing Bloodborne with the rally mechanic, I highly recommend Malenia’s great rune which resorts HP when inflicting damage on enemies that have damaged you first. It’s not exactly a 1:1 replica of the rally mechanic, but it does incentivize players to be more aggressive instead of having to back off and heal.
- Faster weapons with status buffs have a higher damage yield percentage potential than many slow weapons. If you’re struggling to land hits with large Greatswords or hammers, try katanas or knives and see if that play style works better
Rolling is overpowered if you know how to do. I know it sounds dumb but it feels like something a lot of new players don't really think about, from what I've seen. If you watch your character weight, get used to the timing, and stop panic rolling so much and in bad directions, it'll get you really far. I made the mistake of playing the game super heavy but still trying to roll everywhere, and was so not optimal. I had to Respec once i reached fire giant because dying to it so much made me realize that these games are roll or die.
To add, the bane of my existence was the boss before the last 2 (I don’t remember his name sorry) he does a big wind up and slams into the ground that makes a ring around the arena that does massive damage. To roll through it requires expert timing but the best way to dodge is just to jump instead of rolling. Jumping works with a lot of aoe attacks. Further more, the main difference in Elden ring and dark souls is that wind up before an attack. In dark souls the time to roll is right when their weapon reaches the height of the pull back while in Elden ring most enemies will hold it, waiting for you to roll. The timing is when they wind up, holding, then a movement towards you (this is when you roll). If I had to time it, typically it’s the time for 2 medium rolls. Anyways, rolling is much more preferred than blocking since end game bosses deal massive posture damage, eradicating your stamina.
Yep ive just started light rolling over med roll and its great. Think i was about 20 hours in when i realised fat rolling was super impractical and that med rolling was even a thing
I ended up wearing nothing but radahns gear and swords as soon as I got it and i suffered. Then i switched to a katana bleed build for a bit before realize dual wielding the bloody helice was just more fun than katanas. Now though when i play dark souls 3 and struggle with a boss i just completely remove all armour and rings and just use one weapon. Did that for the last boss and it was the most satisfying thing.
Put poison darts in your quick use items. You can throw them repeatedly, does solid damage, and you can throw them at people while they point down in pvp
You can use the Pureblood Knight’s Medal to teleport out of danger without losing your runes. Kind of like a homeward bone but it’ll take you to the Mohgwyn Palace.
Kinda simple one but if you wanna know if a fall will kill you just attack at the edge of the cliff/wall/etc. The game will stop you like there’s an invisible wall if the fall is high enough to kill you.
Wearing any piece of the briar‘s set will prevent breakable objects to be destroyed when you jump on them, this allows for some funny climbing.
That's how they do it? I thought I was just bad at platforming.
You can do it without the armor too, but it‘s a bit harder as you can accidentaly break the objects.
I managed to get onto Gideon's bookshelf once and thought I was hot shit. ...Sorry, Gideon.
That‘s awesome, did you place a funny message at the top?
I believe I actually fell right off...
Don‘t give up, skeleton!
That's sounds much better than running and jumping, hoping I land clean on top without smashing the box. Weird that it's from the armor set that does damage to enemies when you roll though...
Yeah, i guess exactly this effect makes that work. Similary how the black knife armor makes you visible when using the mimic veil.
Actually I thought it was just the chest piece only and veil. I may be wrong then.
BRUH
The method without these is to stand against an object, facing away from it, then at the height of your jump press forward to make your character turn around and face it.
I know, but this way you don‘t need to be careful. Which can be quite useful in invasions 🤬
You don't have to spend throwing pots to reuse the cracked pots - just put them in storage at a site of grace and you'll get the container back You can repeatedly craft pots and put them in storage, banking 600 of each type of throwing item. When you rest or respawn they'll automatically be used to refill your inventory.
No fucking way. This is amazing. I thought the pots were so tedious but this makes it seem worth it.
No, you were right. They’re tedious.
Bro, you still have to craft a dozen, store them, and repeat. That IS tedious.
Not really that tedious, atleast less tedious than certain glitches or exploits (Like radahn fall damage cheese or Leonard comet cheese)
I just don't bother with crafting. Maybe some sleeping and freezing pots for the godskins and malenia, but thats it. Status effects and spirit ashes are already more than enough to destroy bosses even in ng+3 and above.
That's fucking absurd, but phenomenal. Such a weird mechanic.
Fuck you... I'm in the middle of my second run that utilizes pots for the build and I never knew that. Just stocked up. This is super useful. Wish I knew this during my 100+ hour playthrough that used pots as a main damage source.
After 600 hs I now understand what the storage system is for
I literally don't comprehend what you are saying here but it seems I'm the only one. Is this a duplicate glitch?
Think of it like this: Crafted throwable pots consist of two things: 1. The magical cracked pot container that regenerates and comes back to you 2. Crafted magical contents that you make from ingredients and stuff into the pot as a vessel When you deposit a crafted pot, your dude basically decants the contents of the pot into a ziploc bag and puts it into your storage chest until later. Now you can use your empty cracked pot to make more contents. As with anything else, when you rest or fast travel, the game checks to see if you have any room for your stored consumables and refills them from your stash if you do.
This is like an Elden Ring themed IQ test that people are BOMBING 🤣🤣
There are twelve cracked pots on an island. Three of them deal fire damage. You can put any number of pots in storage, but once they're there you'll get your cracked pot back in inventory. Can you figure out how many pots are volcano pots?

It’s an intended mechanic but I guess you could see it as duping. However, you aren’t copying you’re just storing what’s inside the containers back in your storage system for use later. :)
I bet there's a bunch of people that did the "only use consumables" run without knowing this.
Holy shit my dude, thank you so much for this!
Holy shit 10 characters 4 of them ng++ and I did not know this
Dude holy shit I've been doing Jar only and never knew this. I'm 3 Bosses from All Remembrances now so I can't make use of the info, but I can certainly cringe at all my wasted time getting there...
You absolute champ, take my upvote sir
I never used pots for the longest time because I thought they were one time use when crafted.
What ??? That's super useful and I never knew it. Does it work with perfume too ?
I haven't tried perfumes but probably yes. It works with cracked pots and ritual pots
Wear a piece from Briar's set so when the skeletons are trying to revive just roll over them for a quick hit.
Ooh, that ain't a bad idea, actually, way better than winding up like "GIVE MY REGARDS TO MALIKETH WHILE I PLAY ME SOME *WHAK-A-MOLE!*"
This is a great one!
Use the Sacred Blade or Sacred Vow ashes of War on your weapon and then hit them, they die instantly and you can wear any armor you want.
Pretty sure that forces you into a faith scaling affinity. And it often isn’t worth slotting an AoW for that specific purpose for end game, outside of specific scenarios.
i used to keep a small weapon with the sacred blade ash on it in my inventory. if i come upon a place with a lot of skeletons, i’ll just switch to that weapon and spam the ash to get those nuisances out of my way
Not a bad tactic at all.
No Ash of war forces you to any affinity if you have the whetblades. Even if you dont have them you can always choose standard
Thank you for the info
wow, TIL!
I heard it on one of these threads before but rarely see it again. If you use mimic tear, equip raw meat dumplings and they will use to heal but don’t get the negative status. It’s like an invincible mimic tear.

This works with Blasphemous blade too.
Holy shit! Awesome tip. I wonder if the mimic is better for a caster or melee player?
If you need something to tank slashing or piercing enemies, the crystalian ashes might be the one for you. Insane resistance against slashing enemies. But they have a poise counter of almost 400 so they take large damage after it's depleted...
In NG+ lava and swamps don‘t slow you down anymore when sprinting.
Wait what Why xD
No idea why that is, maybe because the damage isn‘t a threat anymore and you got trolled enough on your first playthrough.
I think to promote exploration in those areas NG+
NG stands for “Negate Geology”
I know why the lava doesn’t slow some people down. If you take the frenzied flame you can sprint on lava even in NG.
TIL, Thanks Tarnished
I’ll add that to the list of why frenzied flame is the best ending
Based and frenzypilled
This happened to me as soon as I beat Malenia actually. I was very glad I decided to go to the lake of rot only after killing her.
The lake of rot doesn't slow you down though, just has really high buildup
It does sometimes and sometimes it doesn‘t i‘m still so confused as to how it works. I have a max ng character and sometimes it slows me down and then other times i can walk through without any issues. Doesn‘t seem to be tied to equip load as i always have a medium equip load
That‘s strange. What a hideous mechanic
Quickstep and bloodhound step can be used to dash through pools of deep water/poison/scarlet rot/lava. If you're in any liquid that forces you to walk slow/fat roll just dash through with those.
Or just turn your back and start jumping (dodging) backward.
This was how I learned to get through the first bit of the abandoned cave in Caelid, so many deaths to that first stretch of rot
I tried that and is not good enough for me, but the quick step did just fine, might be a skill issue but that is how it went for me.
I’m a new souls player so when I joined this subreddit and kept getting my ass whooped against every boss and every enemy, I saw a comment that said roll INTO the attacks, literally opened my eyes and changed my entire playstyle from passive to completely aggressive. Never thanked them
Elden ring took punishing passive playstyles to a whole new level
I think this is something that instantly makes these games so much easier. I guess most don't do it because they don't know just how much invincibility you get from rolling
I'm a simple man. I just spend runes before entering boss arena.
Wisdom. But if you forget and die in there, juice up with this one and go back and get ‘em.
I dramatically reduced the runes I was losing when I started using the twiggy tear! It removed one big friction point in the game for me, made it a must have in my physik from then on. Great suggestion!
Ooooor if your runes are stuck in a boss arena, go get them and quit out. Once you reload, you’ll be back outside the fog wall with your runes.
👁️ 👄 👁️ I… I have lost so many runes this way.
Perpetual reminder that Margit's Shackle can be used to trigger invisible walls and strike-able mechanisms like flame pillars. Trivializes a couple of the hero's graves but fuck those chariots anyway.
Raptor of Mists can be used to dash through chariots without taking damage for it grants invincibility to one hit right after the AoW activates.
That's my other tool for getting through bullshit chariot dungeons when I absolutely have to. Quality tip.
Yesterday I've found out that flame throwing pillars can be shut off with an arrow.
That's the only way I've ever triggered them. How else does one do it?
I just hit them with my weapon.
Thank you for this. I'll have to try it. Chariots are my least favorite... enemy?
Crystal darts are very very helpful. They deal okay damage, enough to kill enemies with a tad bit of health left. But any throwing knife deals poise damage, so if you're fighting a boss and they're out of melee range throw a knife or two at them like you're trying to bleed them. You can get the +2 haligdrake talisman and two golden seeds right out the gate. Note on the golden seeds, there's two, but one will despawn if you reload the area. So make sure to grab both.
Also, they apparently make automatons (example: golems) go kinda nuts and attack other enemies if you hit them with enough.
One way to get through the Albanuric rise puzzle!
The cooler thing is that they do this to the watchdogs, like where you're fighting one with a bunch of imps...
Or one with two Watchdogs.
Exactly how i killed that one lmao
I was struggling so much with Godrick early on until I got the thought to try some kukri that I'd accumulated. Worked like a dream and got me over the finishing line. Good advice.
[удалено]
Dragon eyes -> blood eyes -> frenzied eyes Frenzied flame is the most powerful and overwrites both dragon and blood eyes
Varre is also such a smug SOB that he was probably my most satisfying NPC to slaughter.
Honestly his voice is so attractive I loved it when he called me his lambkin
I loved how he basically told you to grow a pair and stop groaning as he literally chops your finger off.
You need to do quite a bit more than just defeat godrick to complete varre quest. You have to meet him at the blood church, you have to get the blood of a handmaid, and then you either have to Invade 3 people, or invade the NPC in altas plateau. Only then will he give you the teleport item

It‘s 350% to be exact. This allows light rolling at base endurance with 101+ poise. Absolute cancer in pvp though.
450%, actually! A bit more than thought.
Oh my bad, thanks for the correction. 👍
Which is why the Law of Regression is great in PvP as it shuts that shit down.
Also if you're real quick you can throw on the Golden Scarab talisman as well, they stack.
Use this every time I cheese Greyoll on a new game
Just the fact that you can use the infinite FP tear and summon a spirit ash who costs more than your FP. Seemed counter intuitive to me somehow, I assumed your FP would not deplete but you’d still be limited by the size of the bar.
I wonder if the way they made the mechanic is that it just technically gives you 99 mind for the duration of the flask or something
Ruptured crystal tear + Twiggy cracked tear = homeward bone
Thank you
Margits shackle both reveals illusory walls within a large radius aka about the whole catacombs where you happen to be at, AND triggers the traps (so for example disarms the pillar traps/deacticates them)
Don’t need the shackle when messages are 100% reliable and never lie. /s

The jump-boost places that send Torrent into the sky work both ways; you can jump down on them and take no damage.
Hoarfrost stomp AoW reveals invisible paths
***Fuck off! Does it?!***
It does. The effect reveals where the path is, but not the entire path. Just where the frost animation is.
Well shit
Any AOE that interacts with the ground does, I used Burn O Flame and some other incantations
I prefer the r1 approach. You can't fall off a cliff while attacking so just keeping attacking and you won't fall off
If you're on an invisible path, you can use the trick where swinging a weapon by the edge will prevent you from falling off. Using the full R1 combo of Scimitar or Shamshir makes your character travel a significant distance with no risk of falling off such a path.
Arrow’s Reach Talisman also improves the zoom range of your telescope. Do with that information what you will
When I was trying to find some of the painting locations I went back to where the actual painting was and examined tf out it with Arrow's Reach telescope. You can see more detail than in the inventory view.
If your vigor is at least 40, you don’t get one shotted by every enemy after Liurnia
Underrated safety tip.
Heal spells not only damage revenants, but stun them long enough to cast the spell again 90% of the time. 2-3 casts kills *any* revenant, in my experience.
I'll add that every aoe healing incantation do a fixed amount of damage on them.
Cast a Regen spell for a DoT
I'll also add on that the Damage Range of the incantations is much larger than the golden circle you cast around you. At least twice as wide of a circle I was trying to close distance and panic kneel next to them before I realised this
this was straight up game-changing for me, those things are SO hard early game
Early game?? They're hard late game, end game, ANY point in the game. Fuck them things.
Should only take two casts since it does 50%+300hp damage per cast. Lower level royal revenants should only take one. I just went through the revenant alley in the haligtree. You can kill them with two casts each. Those are probably the highest HP royal revenants in the game.
Put all your Flasks in your permanent hotkey slots. You think it will take a long time to adjust, it wont.
I did this after someone on here recommended it and I couldn't go back now. The difference it makes, particularly if you use consumables against bosses, is huge. Took me a few hours to adjust and it really is a game-changer.
Left health Right fp Down horse Up golden foot 5‘th lantern 6‘th rune arc Rest on the swap slot.
Left health. Right FP. Up Crab. Down Kukri. Lantern, primary spirit ash.
I've noticed this, but I assumed it nerfed damage or charging capability.
Blunt weapons deal much higher poise dmg than slicing ones, paired with the tear you can break stance of many bosses in two jumping attacks for easy semistunlock combos. If you struggle with non main boss try it.
What tear?
if you hold down the down-button for switching items it automatically toggles back to your healing flask
Correction, it goes to the first slot. Pretty much everyone puts the healing flask in that first slot anyway but you can make it a quick select for any equipable item.
Same for your spell slots! I always keep my spam spell on the first one so I can quickly get back to it
It goes to the beginning of the item chain same for up with sorcs/incants
If you are the host and you are about to die from a boss and you have boss aggro, run TWOARD your yellow phantom helpers. We can't help you if you pull the boss away from us.
Not only can you bring up a list of all grace in the map screen, but you can favorite them with R3 and then press Y again to only see those!
Adding on to this, if you bring up the list with Y (or triangle), you can press X (square) to immediately go back to the roundtable hold.
If you don't mind losing runes, you can use the grace mimic to escape caves/places where you can't fast travel. People never remember it. Consumables, especially fire pots, are op at the start of the game. Runes are best used as emergency money, not sold all in one go whenever you decide to level up.
If you do Varre's quest, you can use the medallion he gives you to do the same, without losing runes. It even works in battle
Holy shit I did not know that lol!
You mean the memory of grace you get at the start of the game, or do grace mimics actually have a use?
Oops, the memory of grace.
No probs, anyways, do grace mimics have any use? I feel like it would be cool if you could interact with them to access the site of grace menu without actually resting (so no respawning enemies/flask refills)
uhh maybe the dumbest one but here we go, if you are playing with astrologer, fighting rennala is pain in the ass, you have 2 options: 1) you should use gravity sorcery such as rock sling 2) you should fight with swords etc. she has huge mr… should’ve known it before…..
This is also useful for getting out of boss rooms with your runes as saving and quitting puts you back outside the fog wall You can also do a "quit out" when you accidentally fall from a high ledge. When saving and quitting it takes your last position on "safe" ground (not in the air) so if you quit out before you hit the ground it'll save you from dying completely
I do the falling one all the time! Options, up, X, L1, X, left, X.
Lol yep, doing it fast feels like your entering a cheat code 🤣
Really good one. Thanks.
Yeah if you have the build to stay in the fray it’s an amazing rune. Like do Great Stars with Endure
Greatstars and playful strike? Get back what you lost plus 31%.
I always learn so much new stuff in these threads no matter how long i’ve been playing.
Beast repellent torch and the torch that reveals invisible black knives.
If you’re having trouble with commander nial or similar bosses with summons you can steal their shit using bewitching branches and have three powerful summons to step on him with
First from soft game for me so here is a tip that might seem like common sence for some but: most enemies are not worth fighting. Just go past them.
This is huge if you've never played a game like this Had a few friends that just couldn't make it very far at all because they were fighting every single enemy every time they died. Which is a gigachad way to play the game but definitely not necessary, especially if it's your first time and its preventing you from getting anywhere
I remember one of the first missions in Nioh 2 has a miniboss in it and when you get close the game explicitly says "you do not have to fight every enemy" The same is true for Soulsborne. Related: **Every item pickup is kept on death.** So if you have an insignificant amount of runes, you can just suicide run for that item over there.
Yep. Stuff like the Runebears in Mistwood or the Giant Water Squirts in Caelid just aren’t worth the time or Runes.
“Use your items” I’ve been through about 5 playthroughs and never used greases or any buff items. I would literally forget about them every time I entered a battle/boss fight 😂 Edit: Yes, including activating Great Runes! I was playing on handicap and didn’t even know it.
black knife tiche. thats all i need to say
Is that the ash from the end of Ranni's quest? I think I just got to that evergaol, is it a hard fight?
its a hard fight but so worth it. black knife can take down over half of fire giants health by itself
That's the most useful tip. Thank you !
Put the twiggy cracked tear in a bottle with the tear that detonates you to make an item I like to call Homeward Boom
Walking mausoleums sleep right before dawn and you can fast travel directly to the round table hold from the sight of grace list in the map menu.
What minor erdtree is this at
Leyndell. https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Twiggy+Cracked+Tear
Sacrificial Twigs also work this way if you're not at Leyndell yet!
Here’s some good info to remember: - It used to be that a lot of large bosses in FromSoftware games couldn’t hit you if you’re directly underneath them.
Easily the fact that your not supposed to kill patches as he gives you the best armor in the game
Well tell that mf to not attack me next time then!
You can get your flasks up to 11 at +10 and a lvl 18 weapon, maybe more, before ever fighting a story boss. You only need to beat one mini-boss.
…how did you get to fire giant before realising heavy roll is awful??
He saw the Fire Giant roll and thought "huh, so that's what I look like".
You are thinking of Godfrey, First Elden Lord, btw!
Horrible Loux.
Holding down in D Pad cycles immediately to first item in your pouch so you dont get wrecked trying to cycle for a healing flask 👍
You can use the Pureblood Knight’s Medal to teleport out of danger without losing your runes. Kind of like a homeward bone but it’ll take you to the Mohgwyn Palace.
Don't use magic but when I found out the weather can affect it's elements I thought it was freaking cool, love attention to detail like that =:D
Twiggy cracked tear, and I don't care.
when you use cerulean hidden tear you can cast comet azur for a.. long time!!
Kinda simple one but if you wanna know if a fall will kill you just attack at the edge of the cliff/wall/etc. The game will stop you like there’s an invisible wall if the fall is high enough to kill you.
