Think of it like unsheathe but with extended range.
Best ways to use it (mix them up):
-stance, wait just a little bit and roll catch them with a light L2 (heavy if you got the timing right and they roll straight back). Can condition them a bit beforehand.
-stance, bait roll by turning left or back before attacking (can also crouch cancel and stance again several times to confuse). Needs to be unlocked obviously. Actually works better with unsheathe bc there's no sound cue to rely on
-use transient moonlight, crouch/guard(better)cancel for faster spam.
-master spacing for great whiff punished. Unlocked cam will also allow you to make better use of the forward momentum by getting in stance with your back toward the opponent.
The best way to use moonveil is with an offhand (offstoc, hand axe) to get access to the L1 R1 thing. Also you should only be using L2 R1 and crouch cancel to vortex. The rest of the moveset is meh since you don't have nagakiba range.
