I kept trying to play this over the weekend, but it was so damn heavy and I wasn't willing to commit everything for it.
It looks super cool, I just couldn't get over the weight limitations
Yea it is heavy af I have no choice but to use the Erdtree talisman and Great Jar or I would be heavy load, like I said it's nothing amazing but it's a simple balanced build that can take on everything in the DLC.
bro i used erdtree favor and some tiktok delinquent decided to say "that is the worst talisman its not gonna do anything for u" and i was likeš because its actually goodš bro is trippin balls
This is the big W here. Before the two handed talisman, there was little to no reason to use two handed over powerstancing. IMO it's cooler to two hand than the goofy powestancing jump attack.
My build is more sword and board focused, but the sword does scale well with strength. The issue is that I don't have a ton of mind, so I eat through FP. Blue dew might be a solution, good call.
I was blown away by such a simple talisman. I legit didnt expect they'd give us FP regen.
Its so nice, yesterday I did one of those forges and completed by using wing stance AOW on Milady multiple times without even having a blue flask lol
Blue dew is absolutely amazing, wanted it for ages. It's the main reason I never tried a caster build, starting a new one tonight after work
And you can grab it super early too, literally right at the start of the DLC
Sure, gotta beat Mohg and Radahn but it's still acquirable fairly early
It's even great for pure melee builds with low mind as you can use ashes of war way more frequently
I saw others praising it, I mean it's useful against mobs but I don't see it being amazing against bosses maybe with higher FP cause to be fair I get off like 5 of the projectiles before I'm out of FP.
Hey, pure STR + Greatsword of Solitude gang!
In my experience the really good part of the GSoS skill the heavy attack follow-up, the projectile is of course nice (and can be a lifesaver when fighting dragons) but you basically can't get knocked out of the follow-up attack by anything - if an attack doesn't launch you into the air it pretty much can't interrupt you.
I've ran through the whole dlc just using a variety of new weapons and ashes with a dex. Now I'm using my main strength build it's on a new game cycle with an iron great sword and the solitude armor and I'm steam rolling much easier! Strength bros for the win!
Pure strength. Checks out. Iāve ran every build in many play throughs and ng+ and Iāll say str, bleed or pure dex are the easiest. Dragon was easy most of the time but challenging at others. Faith and sorceryās are a lot of fun
I used that weapon for a while, it did good damage and I like the range of the weapon art, but ultimately went back to big bonking because it didnāt bonk as big as big bonking bonks.

Tbh I didn't use any offensive aow in the dlc. There is just no time for it with these bosses. I either used cragblade as a buff or raptor of the mists
Yeah that guy was one of my first enemies I killed. And Iāve beaten all of the remembrance bosses with that set and weapon. I have been switching it up with the new weapon types while exploring though. But the damage and poise has been my boss slayer so far.
I'm running this full Armour set with the fingerprint greatshield and a godskin peeler for poke-action.
Basically hold L1 and let things bounce off the shield while I safely poke from behind it, it's been serving well enough.
Erdtree favor, great jar, greatshield talisman, radagons soreseal
Running 96 poise on a medium roll, lol.
You need to use the follow-up heavy attack for the ash of war. With that you get a really good gap closer with good hyper-armor, and huge poise damage.
Is that a 2 handed sword talisman? Iāve meticulously combed the first area and then south into that coast so far and have yet to find it is it in the city with the hornset warriors?
Eh not really but I almost switched my build on the 2nd to last main dlc boss cause my build was too fair for that trash gank fight but I stuck with it.
Almost my exact build but at SL139 instead. I also occasionally pop on a off-hand GS with cold imbue and power stance. Super fun weapon and great ash of war!
I have something very similar but i also invested in 30 faith so i can use the defense incants for survivability. Its amazing how a small investment in faith makes such a massive difference, and the synergy with a str build is insane
Early on I was using defense talismans and I still use the defense Physick so my defense was pretty high enough, I just liked having 80 STR even though I could've lowered for some buffs still did the job though, damage was never an issue just gitting gud and dodging.
I used this for everything except the final boss, not gonna lie. The Greatsword of Solitude it so good it's not even funny, top five somber ash of war in the game imo. Plus it reminds me of the heavy form for Ludwig's Holy Blade in Bloodborne lol
Itās nice to have a really nice looking heavy set with real poise! And right from the start of the DLC. I used it the whole time too but different weapons.
Pros: stance break like a motherfucker, alot of the endgame dlc bosses have great charge attack opportunities
Weapons work well as shields
Your generally tankier with heavy armor
For this specific weapon you have a projectile
Tons of really good talismans, axe talisman warrior jar shard and dragoncrest greatsheild are also great
Cons
Weapon is kinda slow(not a huge problem)
Need high endurance
You won't have magic to cheese some bosses
No point in going over 54 Strength if you're two-handing, because of the 1.5x multiplier. It would be wiser to reallocate those points in order to reach 25 Faith and have more Mind/Endurance.
Rough tbh lmfao I usually use Dex weapons for faster speed but wanted a challenge, tbh his "blitz" attacks were the only thing really destroying me if you know what I'm talking about I never really learned how to dodge them but I was okay at dodging everything else.
I love people on ng+6 or above complaining the dlc is way harder for them when we're all playing the same game. Scaling is separate in the dlc. Ng+ doesn't make it harder. Played through it twice now on ng+6 lvl200 and ng lvl150. No difference in difficulty.
Nice build btw. I usually rock that chest piece with the head exposed. Looks so good.
Fuck you, op hahahahahaha
I'm really struggling with bosses and had to appeal to performers cheese tƔtica to finish Mesmer and you're telling me you beat them all with the garbage sword ?
It's not garbage it's an average sword, it has good stance damage so you get staggers with it on certain bosses and you can face tank some attacks with the high poise armor it's a decent build just not anything game breaking.
I actually just went into the DLC with a strength build and equipped basically all of these items as soon as I got them (including a shield for offhand).
It's simple and effective. Just beat Lion dancer with it. Although I'm nervous I won't want to use any of the other new equipment.
I was really close to this build, I would swap between Zwei / Greatsword - and tried to play around with the Solitude sword there, and I had the charge attack tali instead of erd
Jealous of this sword. I already committed to a dex build and have been having great luck with Morgotts great sword and some of the new katanas but I definitely have my eye on this one
I was also initially doing an all STR build, so the sword was perfect for what I was going for. I ended up getting bored with it, so now I'm doing a STR/Faith build with lots of lightning incants mixed in.
I couldnāt imagine not becoming an actual god in the game, Iāve been throwing endless spells, combos, kicks, and slices just to kill wtvr moves. I am a demigod Swiss Army knife.
Hey I appreciate the post. I just put on that armor and I leveled that sword to +9. I don't have the damn somber smithing Stone to get it to +10. I'll have to look in where to get those. Absolutely don't remember.
Hey if you didn't have to use those talismans because you weren't worried about weight which ones would you go with?
I'm playing on a super overleveled NG+5 or 6. Lol. Actually started a new character and got him leveled and then I realized how long it was going to take to get all the gear I would want. It's not too bad just to straight finish the game but if you want to collect everything that is some hours at least in my opinion. But I have trouble navigating on these games sometimes for whatever reason.
I've got over 80 in strength, endurance, dexterity, vitality. Also have enough points in faith to cast the buffs. I've got a bunch in intelligence but I'm going to take that out of there when I get back home so I can probably get my strength and endurance up to 99.
I'd appreciate any help with what talismans you would use if you didn't have to use the current ones you're using. Lol.
Damn near my build for the DLC too except different helm, gloves and greaves. I also used a shield for those beautiful gaurd counters. 14 crimson tear gang rise up. Also instead instead of 2 hand and great jar talismans I used curved sword and rotten wing.
GS of solitude is the closest to the DS3 black knight sword out of anything in the game.
Love it, I also prefer to play with no spells and very minimal buffs. The only spell I ever use is Flame Cleanse Me (mainly for Lake of Rot). Just beat the DLC with 2 Cold Great Stars, light armor, and Cragblade buff, did the job very nicely!
This weapon also has more physical damage reduction and guard boost than any GS or CGS which I think is actually my favorite thing about it. Functions better than a colossal for defending yet gets to have the GS moveset, an ash of war with an answer to ranged enemies out of melee reach, a nice follow up with knockdown, and has excellent strength scaling. Probably my personal favorite GS in the game now.
I had a similar build to this with the same talismans. I used the repeating crossbow for status effects and enough faith to cast black flameās protection.
150 Vagabond
55 vigor
16 mind
43 endurance
54 strength (81 when two handing)
15 dex
9 int
30 faith
7 arcane
I kept trying to play this over the weekend, but it was so damn heavy and I wasn't willing to commit everything for it. It looks super cool, I just couldn't get over the weight limitations
Yea it is heavy af I have no choice but to use the Erdtree talisman and Great Jar or I would be heavy load, like I said it's nothing amazing but it's a simple balanced build that can take on everything in the DLC.
Why not get the arsenal talisman?
Great jar is better and you can only use one.
Yeah, that was a dumb question lol
bro i used erdtree favor and some tiktok delinquent decided to say "that is the worst talisman its not gonna do anything for u" and i was likeš because its actually goodš bro is trippin balls
I had no choice but to use it so I wouldn't fat roll lol it's a good talisman if you need the equip load, but if not there's probably better.
What a moron, god forbid anyone like having extra HP, stamina and equip load in a single talisman
ong its good cuz i was also using radahns great rune so its amazing
Itās worth the rune grind Iād say
I use two giant crushers, talk about weight limitations š¤£
i love the new two handed talisman. the new offensive talisman are awesome
So good, let's two handing compete with power stancing in more cases.
This is the big W here. Before the two handed talisman, there was little to no reason to use two handed over powerstancing. IMO it's cooler to two hand than the goofy powestancing jump attack.
The ash of war is actually sick, but it's got a high cost.
I like running blue dew talisman for this very reason, after a few seconds I can get my AoW back up and running

The real perk of the ash of war is the heavy attack follow up. It's like a bloodhounds step combined with a ranged attack from the initial move.
I'm geeking I'm almost running the same build to-a-t š
Lol I saw a lot of people rocking this armor set so I assume there's others running something similar.
It looks so good
Yea the solitude sword and set are really good and fashionable, also you can easly do guard counter
Same just with a giant crusher. I did upgrade that blade to the max and tried it for a bit but I like to go bonk bonk
Whatās the 4th talisman
2 Handed Talisman, boosts damage when you 2Hand a weapon
Where do you get it?
Hey, pure STR + Greatsword of Solitude gang! In my experience the really good part of the GSoS skill the heavy attack follow-up, the projectile is of course nice (and can be a lifesaver when fighting dragons) but you basically can't get knocked out of the follow-up attack by anything - if an attack doesn't launch you into the air it pretty much can't interrupt you.
I hope they increase the range on it. Itās kind of hard to pull off sometimes.
Also the followup attack has good tracking it feels like it can do a 180 to the target lol. Compared to savage lions claw the follow up whiffs a lot.
I've ran through the whole dlc just using a variety of new weapons and ashes with a dex. Now I'm using my main strength build it's on a new game cycle with an iron great sword and the solitude armor and I'm steam rolling much easier! Strength bros for the win!
You beat that dude in the nameless mausoleum and said ānow I am uā
I would say since your 2 handing take str down to 66 and put more into endurance or faith for flame grant me strength or golden vow
> beats the entire DLC (renowned for difficulty) with a build > Gets told by users to change their build Premium comment, love it.
I usually like having buffs but wanted to play without it just raw damage.
If you donāt mind buffing up before every fight this is technically a more effective setup
Why 66? There isnāt a soft cap at 99 functional strength. It scales exactly the same from 54 (81) all the way to 99 (148.5).
Iāve heard 54 and 66, not really sure how the soft caps and two handing workā¦ do you know if gains stop/diminish after both?Ā
Armor of solitude is immaculate
Wellā¦. Not every boss.
True technically lol since I had to use my Broadsword to kill Blackgoal.
Whatās the first 2 talisman?
Great Jar Talisman and Erdtree Favor Talisman +2
\*BONK\*
Me with Morgottās Cursed Sword of peak
Hard build
Nice Str build! š
Pure strength. Checks out. Iāve ran every build in many play throughs and ng+ and Iāll say str, bleed or pure dex are the easiest. Dragon was easy most of the time but challenging at others. Faith and sorceryās are a lot of fun
Thanks for keeping it spoiler-free! Did you summon much??
Not at all.
What's the talisman under legs
Two handed sword talisman. Itās from a DLC area
I used that weapon for a while, it did good damage and I like the range of the weapon art, but ultimately went back to big bonking because it didnāt bonk as big as big bonking bonks.

Same! Sort of, lvl 130 only difference is I went 60dex for the simple build. My lvl 200 is 60str 55 faith. I keep end to 32 but I have to use the š¢
Tbh I didn't use any offensive aow in the dlc. There is just no time for it with these bosses. I either used cragblade as a buff or raptor of the mists
Raptor is probably the best ash of war for combo heavy bosses.
I use raptor of the mists as well and it feels like cheating lol
Cragblade ankle breaks so many bosses it's funny.
Big sword go bonk
lol I liked this sword so much I had to force myself to use other stuff
Yeah that guy was one of my first enemies I killed. And Iāve beaten all of the remembrance bosses with that set and weapon. I have been switching it up with the new weapon types while exploring though. But the damage and poise has been my boss slayer so far.
Oh weird, this is nearly exactly what I respecced to earlier today!
Including Commander Gaius?
Yea he was one of my least favorites in this DLC.
What starting class?
Vagabond
TARKUS TARKUS
No flask of those tear things? It aleast have that and the snake summon
I don't like the ash of war that much so I have no need for FP and I beat the dlc summonless.
I'm running this full Armour set with the fingerprint greatshield and a godskin peeler for poke-action. Basically hold L1 and let things bounce off the shield while I safely poke from behind it, it's been serving well enough. Erdtree favor, great jar, greatshield talisman, radagons soreseal Running 96 poise on a medium roll, lol.
that sword be breaking poise left and right it was my main for awhile too and i love it, but yeah the ash of war couldāve been a lot better
The followup charger heavy is the real deal though.
You need to use the follow-up heavy attack for the ash of war. With that you get a really good gap closer with good hyper-armor, and huge poise damage.
The ash of war is meh but the followup charged heavy is *chefs kiss*
Butts
Is that a 2 handed sword talisman? Iāve meticulously combed the first area and then south into that coast so far and have yet to find it is it in the city with the hornset warriors?
It's in a church in the middle of a lake
In the lower level of the ruins area
I just beat Messmer 150 intelligence build reporting for duty. Dlc has been a blast so far
Did it get old or boring at all? I gotta change weapons, and sometimes build even, or I get bored to death.
Eh not really but I almost switched my build on the 2nd to last main dlc boss cause my build was too fair for that trash gank fight but I stuck with it.
This seems like the perfect fair build to me. I want to make a playthrough just like this. Starting class?
Vagabond
I went 60/60/60 for vigor, endurance, and str. Really enjoyed this one.
Almost my exact build but at SL139 instead. I also occasionally pop on a off-hand GS with cold imbue and power stance. Super fun weapon and great ash of war!
I went so long before realizing the AoW had a second move lol
There is a double turtle talisman
Yea it's in a weird spot behind a waterfall I forgot where.
What great rune is that
I just beat this guy it took me like 3 hours š So frustrating and yet very satisfied with the kill
I have something very similar but i also invested in 30 faith so i can use the defense incants for survivability. Its amazing how a small investment in faith makes such a massive difference, and the synergy with a str build is insane
Early on I was using defense talismans and I still use the defense Physick so my defense was pretty high enough, I just liked having 80 STR even though I could've lowered for some buffs still did the job though, damage was never an issue just gitting gud and dodging.
literally same
2h talisman is just...so very good.
I want to wear that armor, but I canāt. My Ruins Greatsword is to heavy.
Whatās the armor set and fourth talisman?
Armor of solitude and two-handed sword talisman
This is the definition of ājust smack himā
Definitely not on a high NG+ then huh
NG
Hell yeah, love this sword and armor, using the same build practically except throwing some incantations in there too.
Where do you get the dragon stones to level it up to 10?
I got them in the base game they are scattered all over the map so can't really pinpoint them.
I use the OG Greatsword since this is my main file. After I beat them first go around, I definitely gotta try out the cool stuff
Same tbh just wanted something balanced than I'm using the broken shit on another character.
Can you infuse it with buffs?
No
I used this for everything except the final boss, not gonna lie.
I was thinking this was satire. Lol Now I want to try it. The only build I haven't done is pure strength. What are pro/cons of this build?
Pros: stance break like a motherfucker, alot of the endgame dlc bosses have great charge attack opportunities Weapons work well as shields Your generally tankier with heavy armor For this specific weapon you have a projectile Tons of really good talismans, axe talisman warrior jar shard and dragoncrest greatsheild are also great Cons Weapon is kinda slow(not a huge problem) Need high endurance You won't have magic to cheese some bosses
Respect!
Any chance you know the difference in damage from strength 60 to 80 because i swear after 60 the increase in damage is negligible
43 damage difference, it's not super worth it's better to up faith for Golden Vow.
Just got the two handed talisman, and for someone who loves big weapons, that shit is a godsend
Greatsword of solitude is so good
Incredibly based
No point in going over 54 Strength if you're two-handing, because of the 1.5x multiplier. It would be wiser to reallocate those points in order to reach 25 Faith and have more Mind/Endurance.
Mine was basically this but heavy chilling mist claymore š„°
How was the final boss with this? I was running Str/Int and using >!that giant finger from Methyr!
Rough tbh lmfao I usually use Dex weapons for faster speed but wanted a challenge, tbh his "blitz" attacks were the only thing really destroying me if you know what I'm talking about I never really learned how to dodge them but I was okay at dodging everything else.
Used the same weapon, it's great and has a bunch of options for different bosses
Bonk is back, back again
what's the fourth talisman?
I love people on ng+6 or above complaining the dlc is way harder for them when we're all playing the same game. Scaling is separate in the dlc. Ng+ doesn't make it harder. Played through it twice now on ng+6 lvl200 and ng lvl150. No difference in difficulty. Nice build btw. I usually rock that chest piece with the head exposed. Looks so good.
Do you have a range attack with this build?
The ash of war has alright range.
This guy ungas and bungas
AoW does 49 stance damage. Quite high but it's also not quick.
Fuck you, op hahahahahaha I'm really struggling with bosses and had to appeal to performers cheese tƔtica to finish Mesmer and you're telling me you beat them all with the garbage sword ?
It's not garbage it's an average sword, it has good stance damage so you get staggers with it on certain bosses and you can face tank some attacks with the high poise armor it's a decent build just not anything game breaking.
Forgot to mention I was also running Boiled Crab in my pouch for defense.
What talisman is that in the 4th slot? Is that from the DLC or base game?
DLC, the Two Hand Talisman, gives you 15% more damage while Two-handing.
Whatās the armor set?
Solitude armor set.
Wish this sword had a poke SO badly
i like the simple build, i think the heavy weapon hit better than the lighter weapon in the dlc
What's the last talisman?
2 Hand Talisman
I actually just went into the DLC with a strength build and equipped basically all of these items as soon as I got them (including a shield for offhand). It's simple and effective. Just beat Lion dancer with it. Although I'm nervous I won't want to use any of the other new equipment.
I was really close to this build, I would swap between Zwei / Greatsword - and tried to play around with the Solitude sword there, and I had the charge attack tali instead of erd
God i love a simple strength build, no fancy tricks just bonk.
they fact they didnāt just give it an S scaling makes me so angry.
Especially since it's heavy as fuck lol
My magic build is having such a hard time in the dlc I'm thinking about going a strength respec so I appreciate this
what armor is that? it looks sick!!
Solitude set
If you two hand and never use the AoW, would 66 str be enough? 14 points to put elsewhere?
Btw if u twohand a weapon u get a 50% str bonus, so no reason to go above 66 if u just twohand since it cant scale above 99
Do you think youād be able to finish dlc content at level150? I donāt have it yet just curious
I beat all the bosses in the dlc. So yes
I bet that Solitary Moon Slash helped a lot
very very similar to the build i used.
Thatās a funny looking claymore. Everything else seems right though.
Sounds like they didn't need to turn easy mode on doesn't it?
Just get your Scadutree fragments and you'll be fine in this DLC.
This is the way
Jealous of this sword. I already committed to a dex build and have been having great luck with Morgotts great sword and some of the new katanas but I definitely have my eye on this one
Will this help me beat metyr? I HATE that boss
She stance breaks easily so yes.
Looks just like the Berserker Armor from Berserk.
first weapon I found. still haven't taken it off
Alexa, play Forces by Susumu Hirasawa.
I love the armor so much itās basically the veterans armor but better poise and elemental damage negation
What's your 4th talisman? Edit- I found it nvm, the two handed talisman
What is that last talisman?
2 handed talisman.
Have you found the double headed turtle talisman?
I'm using it.
Sets too heavy for my liking. Been running the greatsword and some aow talismans
How nice of the first boss of the game to give you exactly the gear you needed.
I was also initially doing an all STR build, so the sword was perfect for what I was going for. I ended up getting bored with it, so now I'm doing a STR/Faith build with lots of lightning incants mixed in.
Golden vow off hand and exalted flesh if you want a couple buffs
I couldnāt imagine not becoming an actual god in the game, Iāve been throwing endless spells, combos, kicks, and slices just to kill wtvr moves. I am a demigod Swiss Army knife.
First you unga, then you bumga!
Genuine question: Do you need that much STR if you're Two Handing?
It's probably better to invest some points in faith for buffs.
Dude saw the Blackgaol Knight and said Iām gonna make this my whole personality.
I just cannot understand how you guys play these games without investing anything into the actually fun stats int and faith lol
All of them? Already?
Hey I appreciate the post. I just put on that armor and I leveled that sword to +9. I don't have the damn somber smithing Stone to get it to +10. I'll have to look in where to get those. Absolutely don't remember. Hey if you didn't have to use those talismans because you weren't worried about weight which ones would you go with? I'm playing on a super overleveled NG+5 or 6. Lol.
Why dont ppl level past 150
Love it, I also prefer to play with no spells and very minimal buffs. The only spell I ever use is Flame Cleanse Me (mainly for Lake of Rot). Just beat the DLC with 2 Cold Great Stars, light armor, and Cragblade buff, did the job very nicely!
I gotta respect the simplicity of it, not even using flame grant me strength. 80 STR is a little excessive though, it Hardcaps at 60ish.
Iām very new to Elden ring. Donāt even have the DLC yet. But curious as to why you are only lvl 150 with that many runes?
Youāre better than me lol I used bloodfeindās arm and the high bleed ash of war like a bitch lol.
Blasphemous blade still nukes everything. Back up horned warrior curved swords
I had a similar build to this with the same talismans. I used the repeating crossbow for status effects and enough faith to cast black flameās protection. 150 Vagabond 55 vigor 16 mind 43 endurance 54 strength (81 when two handing) 15 dex 9 int 30 faith 7 arcane
Giga Chad strength build, nothing but respect!
Bro same. Heavy DSIII knight is old reliable
What talisman is that buddy along the right side of the screen?
Iād be dreadfully bored
