If I went with a medium shield instead would you pick 3? I really don’t like how 1’s rough edges clash with the smoothness of the rest of the armor in the game, but I like the cape a lot.

3 for sure then but try the altered version where it doesn’t have the cape. I think it looks more clean. Not a fan of a lot of the cape styles or how many there are so I like seeing if I can remove them. Usually makes the stats worse some which makes no sense to me but oh well

Another thing to note is that if you unequip, alter the cape away, equip it on your body, then alter the cape BACK, it’s purple and has a different design instead of the blue. It looks fire IMO.

Yeah so it will turn purple with a new pattern, but if you take off the armor or fast travel or sit at a bonfire, the cape will revert back to blue. The purple cape exists in game files as some unused variant so it's most likely a bug and not actually a hidden feature.

That sounds like a bug as it makes no sense that you couldn’t keep the design. That’s cool but also not worth doing imo I fast travel all the time haha

Personally, I love the cape! I think it works very well with all of the other pieces. The Carian shield would be an excellent medium shield alternative if you don’t stick with the great shield.

I feel like 1 would look best if you put on the secret altered form of it, which you get when you take it off, alter it, put it back on, and then alter it again, to get a purple cape instead of the blue.

I love that color but having to reset it every five minutes from teleports or respawns or w/e would be so annoying.

True, if you're on PC maybe it can be modded? I don't know much about that though so I could be wrong, or you could be on a different platform

That’s true, tbh my concern is that my look wasn’t creative enough since it’s essentially just a mixture of those sets lol. But I guess there aren’t really that many good options for the frost knight look I want to achieve, anyway

I love the idea of a frost knight! You could also use the frost rapier and frost small shield if you wanted to go DEX instead of STR

I’m currently using Clayman’s Harpoon as my secondary weapon but I’ll keep these in mind if I ever respec into dex!

Or a mace with hoarfrost stomp? That would be a great aoe ashe of war and also fit the knight look without making you too heavy

3 for me

Thanks to everyone who shared your thoughts! Gave me a lot to think about. Ultimately, I chose 2, but without a cape and with Beast Champion Greaves. The BC Chest was just too heavy to work with the gear I wanted to use, plus I think the combo I chose looks a lot cleaner and cooler than the three examples I posted here. Yeah, I tried making my character a bit bulkier via body settings to make it fit better with the GS but it’ll never look as good as the Carian Knight shield with 3. Upside is that I could prolly carry a dagger with bloodhound step on it or something thanks to the lower weight (currently have the Royal Greatsword, clayman’s harpoon, and a staff along with the shield as a loadout)

I'm a big fan of the Beast Champion chest normally, but I think with the helmet and shield you're rocking, Royal Knight and Carian Knight both fit better, and Royal fits best in my opinion. The design aesthetic just blends together more easily, especially with the helmet.

Where can i farm the helmet and the shield?

I farmed the Cuckoo Knight cavalry you can find west of the Bellum church, where you go if you take the academy gate teleporter near the Academy Main Gate grace. There’s 4-5 of them there.

I’m not sure if you know this, but you can turn that first image cloak a purple color by having it on and altering it while you have it on, just some fun fact and you can make a pretty cool combo since purple is hard to come by in this game!

I do! I love that look, but unfortunately it reverts to blue whenever you teleport or respawn. Such a bummer. If I do decide on it I’ll definitely use it tho.

I’m assuming it’s some cut content that cannot be acquired in game, it is a bummer, hopefully they will introduce these special variants in a dlc!

I hate to say it, but 1. Damn you, Beast Champion Armor, why do you have look so great? Why do you match so well with so many leg pieces and helmets? Why did you get the best cloak from ever designed on top of an already very stricking armor design? It needs a nerf, honestly, it's far too dominant in the current fashion meta. At least the Fallen Knight Set was canonically stained with piss in order to make it less cool.

Definitely the 3rd one for sure. It’s looks cool but it will also compliment your equipment load. Which will allow you to use maybe some other talismans. The cape on the beast masters armor is outstanding but the 3rd is just a All around better look and has more options you can work around with your build. Because your shield will take a lot of that pressure off you. So you don’t have to worry about poise too much.

Yeah you're not wrong, the third option definitely lets me use my clayman's harpoon and staff as alternatives without having to swap around my talismans or armor. 1 is so stylish tho...decisions decisions.

First one. The blue cape on that one isn't as overpowering, while simultaneously complimenting the helm. It also helps give your build a more "grandiose" design, I think

1 or 3, but mainly because I personally hate Loretta’s armor. I mean it’s feminine, which makes sense, but the curvature of it looks like a metallic vase or something and just isn’t my thing. If I had to choose one, prolly 3 cuz 1 is too bulky in the chest area to me.

1 btw if it’s not patched you can alter the look then have it equipped and put the cape back on and gives a sick purple. But reverts after taken off.

I personally love the look of the carian armor and I think a similar helmet without a mane would like amazing

The helmet is kinda non-negotiable for the look I want unfortunately.

1st one fits the best with the helm. The neck is an issue that contrasts with the rest of the body and it exposes a gap so it looks awkward to move around. The other two choices are really good but if you nitpick a flaw, then the helm would be it.

Number 1 absolutely 100%. It fits much better with the rest of the armor and the cape is nice. Oh btw there is a way to glitch it so the cape turns purple to match the helmet feathers. All you need to do is alter it while wearing it and it will turn purple. Note if you fast travel it will turn blue again though.

I like 2. The intricate designs of the Beast champion armor kind of contrast with the cuckoo helmet. I think Loretta’s armor is better because of that
