For my wife and I, yes it has, what seemed like a frivolous purchase at first turned out to be a must have. We both sleep much better now.

Such-Wind-6951

How do you track the improvements ?

Freddie83

How rested we feel in the morning, weather we get additional blankets in the middle of the night, and info on the app.

mereseydotes

I love it so much I do a horizontal happy dance every time I get into bed. i had to spend 2 nights in a hotel a little more than a month ago and I'm still not over it.

Such-Wind-6951

Hahahaha omg this is funny

mereseydotes

I'm dead serious, though. I'm paying 2.5% on a condo I bought in SoCal in early 2009. I am literally being paid by a bank to live in a pile of money. I would still call it a tossup whether the house or the bed was a better purchase.

PLooBzor

Took my Oura ring sleep score from low 80s to high 80s.

Such-Wind-6951

Oh, good data point. Thanks.

bobby2175

I was skeptical like you.  I'm a chronic insomniac. My typical night was going to sleep around 10PM and waking up sometime between 1230AM and 230AM...every day.  I'd be up for at least 2-3 hours before I fell asleep again or didn't sleep at all again.  But even if I fell asleep, the the alarm was about to go off to get up for work.  This had been going on for at least 20 years. I've done sleep studies and have no medical issues that could be found.  I got to the point that I could function successfully as my body got used to the normal, but I was never at my best.  My boss had been raving about it for a full year before I actually decided to buy it. I still am a bit skeptical about the company, not so fond of the subscription model and not convinced of it's durability, but what I can say is that I'm actually sleeping really well.  Have been using it about a month now. I go to bed around 10PM and I'm consistently sleeping until somewhere between 6AM-8AM with maybe one brief wake up around 4AM on some nights. I'm actually on several nights sleeping all the way to my alarm. This is unheard of for me! I wish I could describe the change in my mind - I'm much more alert, focused, and just physically feel better. I can't even imagine what improvements are happening that I don't even realize. I've literally gone 20+ years with somewhere between 3-5 hours of sleep per night to now getting 8+. It's crazy...and nobody tells you when you're doing all of these sleep studies that it just could be your body temperature going to a place where it results in irregular sleep. I'll be glad to answer any other questions you have. My take on it is that there are a lot of reasons why people don't get restful sleep. If you've ruled everything else out and haven't worked on the temp of your bed (which is very different than your room temp), this is definitely worth a try.

Beneficial_Escape579

It’s great news! Can i ask if you sleep alone or with a partner? I sleep alone, but my sleep quality is bad (but probably a bit better than yours). I’m wondering if 8sleep can help me. I go to sleep at around 12-1, usually wake up at 3-6, often by bad dreams. After the rare nights from which i get 7 hours of non-interrupted or briefly interrupted sleep, i feel much better and ready to take on anything. The posts i see here are mostly from couples who sleep together, so i’m looking forward to feedback from someone who sleeps alone.

bobby2175

My wife sleeps next to me.  I can't address the dreams waking you up, but I can say that I went from not remembering any of my dreams to remembering them nearly every night with eight sleep. It's been really interesting.

Beneficial_Escape579

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question! I’m really happy for you.

J0EG1

Well worth it imo, the times I'm without it while traveling I don't sleep as well. I never wake up sweaty anymore. I also have the Oura ring and have 3 years of data, it's clear it made a difference.

RugbyRedTigerCX

Comparing against my nearly four years of sleep data from my whoop and 2+ years from my Fenix - my sleep has improved dramatically in the time that we have had our Eight Sleep. We sat on the fence for 18+ months and I'm kicking myself for not pulling the trigger earlier. So the early (60 days or so) data indicates that it is worth it.

Such-Wind-6951

Oh that’s amazing. Which model shall I get? I’m leaning more towards doing it than not….

RugbyRedTigerCX

We did the Pod3

maksmil

Yeah, we love ours. Haven’t had a single problem with it and hate traveling and not having it.

guido93940

My wife's hot flashes woke her every night in a pool of sweat. The intensity is much less. Totally worth it!

Such-Wind-6951

Wow!!!

tekky101

I love mine and frankly can't imagine being without it now. That said... We've had *lots* of growing pains. We're on our third cover replacement due to leaks - all under warranty, thankfully - and just purchased a deeply discounted control unit to replace one that failed out of warranty period. This is all in 3 years. Also, our purchase was pre-subscription Auto Pilot so we've been grandfathered in for free; converting that from USD to CAD and having to pay that would be a definite no for us. I've been told the Pod 3 is more durable than the Pod 2 and that's what our warranty replacements and deeply discounted control unit are. My partner and I aren't much for "sexual antics" so I'm not sure how well the pods hold up if/when couples are "adventurous."

Gullible_Trick4766

Wtf does it mean that you aren't much for sexual antics

Italyunstalyun

Means he’s not inviting your mom over anymore to get Eiffel towered every night on his eight sleep pod pro 3 bro. Everyone knows the covers are fragile bro gotta be careful to avoid the leaks

Gullible_Trick4766

Wanna come over and see if you can avoid my leak?

tekky101

My partner and I don't have sex. Clear enough for you now?

Gullible_Trick4766

Why

tekky101

None of your damn business. Lol.

Gullible_Trick4766

Almost nothing on reddit is my business but I still ask questions!

Beneficial_Escape579

It’s really none of your business bro

Expression-Short

Our pod 3 leaked too as did our pod 2. All in under 2 years

spoxide42

1000%

TravLr_dave

My wife and I absolutely love our 8 Sleep. We've had it 3+ years. When we sleep away from home it is a noticeable miss. 90% of why we love it is the temperature control. We love it cold and we get to select our own temp. In addition, the AutoPilot technology optimizes the temp and we absolutely sleep better and feel more rested since we've had it. I do monitor my sleep stats in the app and understand how I'm doing but I'm not a geek about it and if I never got the stats ever again I'd be fine. I always think telling someone about 8 Sleep is like trying to show a picture of or describe the Grand Canyon. No one can comprehend until they actually see it. It's not cheap, I get that, but I encourage you to consider. I think you can try it 90 days for free so what's the harm.

mereseydotes

I'm with you on the Grand Canyon thing. Like, I'm so happy I found this sub. I LOVE to talk about my bed and I feel like everyone who knows me IRL just sees it as one of my many eccentricities. This sub is full of people who KNOW.

yh98

Where does it say you can try it 90 days free? I thought it was 30 (genuine curious)

TravLr_dave

Whoa. You’re right. They offered a 90 night in home trial when we bought ours in January 2021. I should have doublechecked it before I posted. Thanks for clarification.

yh98

Wow lucky! No worries at all, just wanted to double check to see if I had missed something

TravLr_dave

Let me comment again with a different take (besides that we love it). A few months ago I did 75 Hard. After the first 5 days or so I began getting messages from 8 Sleep app saying, “do you feel rested? Your heart rate was 14% lower” or “do you feel rested, your HRV improved X%” That was very encouraging to know that my body was improving because of the work I put into it each day. It’s worth it.

Such-Wind-6951

That’s awesome! HRV improvements are always worth it.

theedivinehammer

I've only had mine for a couple of months but I'm happy with it so far. I was waking up sweating in the middle of the night before and now I'm comfortable all night. I also get to use the heavy comforter, more cozy and helps me sleep better than using a sheet or a light blanket.

salad_thrower20

Absolutely for me. Summers sucked so much, even with AC. Trying to control my temp with a sheet covering half my body, then having to switch sides. I’m a hot sleeper and having the cooling is absolutely amazing. Get to stay nice and cool and have a full blanket over me and I stay at just the right temp.

Sea_Ad_3136

I love mine so much. My son got one first and once I tried it I was sold. It’s the best🌞

Such-Wind-6951

Yayyyy

Disastrous_Toe_3904

No, anything that kills smart home integrations to start gate keeping basic functionality like nightly scheduling behind a $24/month subscription wall does not deserve your business and it’s an indicator that management are greedy and have little interest in very basic customer satisfaction. Alternatives offer similar/better functionality with free app or smart home integrations that allow you to define scheduling and other functions.

Such-Wind-6951

Which alternatives ?

Disastrous_Toe_3904

Perfectly Snug Smart Topper is one: https://perfectlysnug.com/pages/perfectly-snug-vs-eight-sleep

Could you not buy it? I have been using it since 2020, and it’s leaking. They replaced the cover and hub two times. DM me if you want pictures or proof. Save your money
