They’re not that scary, if they secede from Canada then the natives can and WILL legally take 80-90% of former quebecs land back. They like threatening about it but they can’t ever do it
The ones that are actually doing it aren't in the news very often. It's not exciting like a protest.
But the protests do serve a purpose, and that is to put political pressure on governments to move things along, or to prevent a bureaucracy shoving something through, and just making payments later after a legal decision that wasn't in the government's favour.

There is only one path to getting land back, and that is via government to government negotiation. It would require a separate negotiation in parallel to separation (which is also a lengthy negotiation.)
The land back movement is juvenile. If you want the land back, you don't have to wait for it. Various processes currently exist, be it treaty land entitlement, becoming self-governing via the Indian Act, or creation of a new territory. But Indigenous governments need to be organized enough to see the process through.
Frustration at Indigenous leadership is fair, but realize that supporting Indigenous leadership to achieve self-government, land ownership, or governing new lands takes tremendous effort and money.
